Remember TARP Surfing? Now we have armpit Barreling! All you need for an awesome time is you, a good buddy and a Handboard! Ohh and skateboard of your choosing. No time at all you'll be getting sweaty armpit barrels executed with flawless precision. What's more, you can even do an epic claim as you are spat out on the "shoulder". You may ask what brilliance brought this little gem of a sport to life! a healthy dose of beer and a penchant for daring activities. that's what. The dangers are rife and we have to warn you never try this at home! First off getting to close to the pit results in a furry wet wipe out and an incredibly horrifying hold down and I don't want mention the horrors of hitting a peddle with no shoes on! All in all if you get it right the joys over shadows the obvious risks. So go ahead and try this at home (Although you didnt here that from me). We are still smiling from the fun! Let's just say small things amuse small minds

Grant Schofield getting ready for Fiji!!

The Aussie master Grant Schofield shreds it at his local break in Merewether New South Wales. They are getting ready for an epic trip to Fiji with their Slyde Handboards and they are going to get some unbelievable footage from everyone's dream surf trip. Keep an eye out right here for all the latest as the get ready for their trip it is going to be an epic one! Australia is home to some of the best surf in the world and some of the best watermen the world has seen and bodysurfing is just one of the many water sports you grow up doing. Bringing true meaning to the waterman philosophy.

Surf Painter Phil Robert

Florida native Phil Roberts knows how to make waves. He paints elaborate, striking oceanscapes. These blew us away!

More about Phil:

Phil grew up on on the beaches and in the surfing community of Melbourne, Florida. Drawing skills became obvious at the age of 5, he first started earning money doing art at the age of 13. At 15, having learned how to draw caricatures, he would entertain crowds at the sidewalk art shows and sell his drawings around the state. Simultaneously he learned to airbrush and at 16 was employed to spray surfboards for Mike Tabeling and Dick Catri. Phil was the first to pain a split water level surf scene on a board at the age of 18. (That board is in the collection of Donny Mulhern. Phil’s art was featured in magazines and newspapers before he left high school, his commercial art income helped him to put himself through college.

At 17, Phil got a scholarship to Pratt Inst. in New York where he got a BFA in fine arts with Honors, mastering in figure drawing, painting & sculpture. For the last 25 years his skills as a portrait artist have been applied in the movie advertising industry as well as Surf. The Dec. ’82 cover of Surfer launched his career in Hollywood with his first poster “Hot Dog the Ski Movie”. For over two decades, Phil has become one of the top illustrators of movie posters in Hollywood, freelancing for all the major studios. In his hollywood portfolio are over 30 finished posters as well as hundreds of designs for photo shoots. He is one of the favorites amongst the studios and celebrities for his comedy scenes and beautiful portraits of the stars. Phil Roberts is often referred to by his peers as a “Modern day Da Vinci”, as he is best known as a master painter, but his strongest talents lie in his inventions, figure drawing and sculpting. Phil has also become well known in the Surf industry as creator of some of the most memorable paintings and illustrations of surf spots and surf personalities.

Fun Times in the shore break!

This morning my bro and I got up for a dawny. The surf report said it might be worth a shot at porto. We cruised down there at about 7.30. Porto was blown out with wind and as you would expect after a couple weeks of flat, the crowd too. On the way down there, we saw Dockweiler looking half-decent. We jumped back in the car and headed back to Dockweiler. Just off the rock pile was a nice little right headed out there and got a few sick waves and a couple insane barrells check em . out below. We thought we take the chance to test our new prototype and I gotta tell you it rocks I cannot wait to get it out to you guys its sooo sick. As my bro says "Its as light as feather and feels and works like its just an extension of your hand".

FAMOUS BODY SURFERS! : This will surprise you

Well here, we go again! Another story from the world of bodysurfing you probably didn't know existed this one is courtesy of our friends over at MYLIFEINWATER Charl. As we know, most people have bodysurfed but it is always Fun to find out the lesser mortals among us have had been bitten by the bug of the ocean and I don't mean that bug you get in the water off of Santa Monica Pier after a good down-poor. I mean the good bug where all you want to do with your life is be in the water.

Here in the words From The article from MYLIFEINWATER:

In 1926, a young man named Marion Morrison had his very promising future as a Football Player cut short due to an injury sustained while Bodysurfing at “The Wedge” at the tip of the Balboa Peninsula at Newport Beach.

We pick up the story in an excerpt of a Biography: “When the driven athlete wasn’t at football practice or doing homework, he was at the beach. Duke (as he was later known) and his friends liked to play in the waves of the ocean, diving into the curl of the water and riding the waves to shore….

He sustained a serious injury body surfing in the choppy surf… A strong wave forced his frame down on the sea floor a few inches from the shore, dislocating his right shoulder…His performance on the field suffered as a result, and by his second year at college he’d lost his place on the football team… and with it the scholarship he was receiving.”

By 1928, he had abandoned all hopes of furthering his education due to financial pressure, without the scholarship, and started doing odd-jobs, until he finally got involved in the Film Industry, first behind the scenes and then later as a star in more than 30 Movies… where he became better known as John Wayne.

Who would have known that one of the most famous faces of the golden screen is in-fact a diehard bodysurfer!?
