After looking through the great website of DCSportsfan.com we could not help but notice their neat High School Athlete highlight video put together featuring the great coaching words of Al Pacino from the movie “Any Given Sunday”. Watch this video below.

On Sunday January 25, 2009, on George Mason University campus in Fairfax Virginia, Fred Smoot joined fellow pro footballer Brian Mitchell, Chick Hernandez of Comcast SportsNET, and Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer to motivate the best high school athletes of the Washington DC metro area in DCSportsFan.com’s 2nd Annual All DCSportsFan.com Football Celebration Dinner.

I first found out about Fred Smoot’s Smack Energy Bar through a friend’s Facebook status. Because I am a huge Redskins fan, I had to find out more. It was not an environment where shoes were just bought, sold, or exchanged. This is a culture that exists right in our midst. Customized shoes ran anywhere from $50 to over $1,000. And these were being sold out. At this rate, the college dropout percentage just might rise with teenagers making this kind of money in just one day (We hope not!)
