Color Your Way to Calm in Parisian Chic Style

Lately I've been trying to make the most of my time and take advantage of opportunities to unwind. The hottest hobby to hit the relaxation scene since meditation is coloring, who would have thought, and I'm really into it. If you think about it, coloring for relaxation makes sense. I loved to color when I was little, when times were simpler. They say it's being "mindful" but it's kind of mindless and that's part of the calming effect.

You've probably seen a lot of coloring books out there with patterns and mandalas and while those are super fun, I love fashion. So a coloring book that has the words Paris Street Style is right up my alley. The book is full of beautifully drawn cityscapes, outfits, and couture storefronts. And of course, all in Paris!

No tickets to NYFW this week? No problem, because if you were there you'd be missing Fashion X Dallas this Thursday through Friday at Fashion Industry Gallery. Fashion, mingling, shopping and more - this is going to be an epic runway event (can you tell that I am excited?)! The fashion shows will feature a mixture of nationally-known, local, and independent designers. A lot of friends of Small 4 Style are being featured during Fashion X Dallas 2016. Just to highlight a few: Thursday night will feature Dallas style stars Steve Kemble and LeeAnne Locken. Binzario Couture will be showing their collection on the runway, and they never disappoint. Same with Ese Azenabor on Saturday. Friday night will feature looks from Vintage Martini, the fabulous and famous Dallas vintage store owned by Ken Weber. Plus, I am so pumped to see the Project Runway stars' latest collections, especially Daniel Esquivel, Chloe Dao, and Korto Momolu. New Beauty: Korean Sheet Masks by When

Like lots of girls around the world, I'm totally on the Korean beauty bandwagon. One of the trendiest skincare regimes in this category is the sheet mask. You've probably seen the little packets with face-shaped masks saturated in serums everywhere lately! There's a new face on the K-beauty scene: When is a Korean sheet mask line that's made for easy 30-minute spa pampering at home. I've tried several sheet masks over the past year or so. It's one of my favorite new skincare trends. Most of the masks I've used have similar ingredients and promise similar results as the When masks. But When masks have a few features that I think make their products unique. What I really like about them is that they are made of bio-cellulose, which is made of coconuts and is good for helping the mask serums absorb into the skin. Fashion Group International (FGI) of Dallas recognized some of the brightest fashion industry stars in Dallas earlier this March. FGI is a world-wide professional organization for those who work in the fashion industry, many of whom are entrepreneurs. The 18 FGI Dallas Rising Stars nominees this year were chosen for both their fashion sense and business savvy. As usual, the Galleria Dallas was a fabulous host and Jan Strimple wowed us again with her runway show featuring Galleria Dallas retailers and the Rising Stars fashion nominees.

I'm so happy to know several of the 2016 Rising Stars nominees and admire their work. I have to give a special shout out to my friend Taylor Miller, who has run a successful business Hazen Jewelry since she was nine. She and I went to SMU together and bonded over our mutual love of fashion and business. By far the youngest of the 18 nominees recognized this year and I know we're all looking forward to following the progression of her business.

You don't even have to go to the museum to see classic designer clothing and accessories from an iconic decade in fashion, the 1920s. Owner of Vintage Martini and the exhibit's curator Ken Weber has put together a fabulous selection of vintage fashion for Galleria guests to enjoy. Between your shopping excursions stop by the first floor to see the exhibit. These beauties will be on display for everyone to enjoy from January 22 through February 28. I'm very excited!

The holiday season always sneaks up on me, but seeing the giant Christmas tree at the Galleria Dallas always puts me in the spirit of the season. They've really gone all out for the holidays this year. Here are just a few highlights of the Christmas season at the Galleria Dallas:

Christmas tree - It's the tallest indoor tree in the country AND more skaters visit the Galleria's tree than the one in Rockefeller Center in NYC!
Snow Globe - Tag #GalleriaHoliday when you post your snow globe pic on social media.
Ice skating - You won't see me on the ice but if you like skating, it's a must-do activity when you visit the Galleria. I'm very clumsy so I'll stick to what I do best... shopping!

FGI Dallas Honors Prabal Gurung at Night of Stars Nov. 13

Fashion Group International of Dallas is throwing its Night of Stars party this Friday, November 13! It's one of the biggest Dallas fashion events of the year to honor great people in the fashion industry. Industry veterans and up-and-comers alike are recognized for their accomplishments at Night of Stars. This year, the big Career Achievement award is being presented to Prabal Gurung, a designer who has made a great impact with his notable collaborations with Target, MAC, and his work with a Nepal-based earthquake relief effort in Nepal with Shikshya Foundation. His designs have been seen on celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lawrence and countless others.

"We are thrilled to be honoring such a talented designer who has also made a significant difference in the lives of others." said Chuck Steelman, the Regional Director of FGI Dallas.

Fall 2015 Fashion & The Bachelor at Belk

This is a seriously long-overdue post, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell you guys about meeting The Bachelor[s] at Belk Galleria Dallas in August for a fall fashion trend event. It was such a fun night with an intimate cocktail meet and greet followed by a fashion show with two of the most well-known Bachelor stars: Sean Lowe and Jake Pavelka. Even though these guys are perfect for TV, they also seem like nice, real people. This was especially exciting for me because I had huge crushes on both Jake and Sean during their seasons. Bachelor hunk Sean Lowe and his sweet, petite wife Catherine Lowe were happy to chat with guests and pose for fan pictures. Bachelor and pilot Jake Pavelka led the fashion show commentary with TV host Amy Vanderoef.

I have to tell you about a fabulous nail product that has the staying power to keep your tips looking pretty. Taking the time to get my nails done has just not been an option lately because I'm so busy. So with imPress nails, I just peel off the backing and put them on like a sticker and they'll last for a whole week! It's a salon-quality manicure at home. Pretty impressive.

When imPress nails were first released a few years ago, the technology wasn't quite perfect. I loved the convenience and look, but when my nails popped off because water would "un-stick" them it got a little annoying. Now they really do last up to a week with the gel adhesive that doesn't damage your nails. At about $8 each, it's a great way to do your nails quickly and easily.

Front Door Fashion Celebrates 2 Years!

Front Door Fashion (FDF) celebrated 2 years in the business of making styling simpler this summer. In 2013, Dallas-based Nina Lowe and Andrea Campbell started bringing personalized outfits to our front doors with FDF. In case you're not familiar, FDF stylists put together looks based on your online style profile, they arrive at your door, then you keep your favorite pieces and mail back the stuff you don't want. Longtime Small 4 Style readers may remember my introduction to FDF in 2013 with a box of clothes and accessories picked out for me by professional stylists. 2 years later they're still going strong and growing.

Your Leg Up: Sally Hansen Leg Makeup & Airbrush

Influenster sent me a small sample of Sally Hansen's leg makeup this summer. Convinced that it was going to rub off on my clothes and look unnatural, I didn't try it until about a week later and have been in love ever since. Sally Hansen has come out with two great products for beautiful legs: the Leg Airbrush and Leg Makeup, both of which come in several different shades. As someone who is clumsy with bruises and has no time to get a real tan, this is the perfect solution. Every imperfection becomes flawless, so I had to buy the full-size can of airbrush, which is pretty similar to the leg makeup. It's water-resistant, smudge-resistant and long-lasting. It won't come off unless you want it off,and it's easily removed with soap. I highly recommend Sally Hansen's leg airbrush and leg makeup to everyone!

White Out: Binzario Couture Visions of White S/S 2016

Dallas-based Binzario Couture hosted a fabulous party to unveil its outstanding Visions of White S/S 2016 collection. Binzario designers Andre Yabin and Luis Nazario revealed their all-white couture collection of 13 dresses and 4 gowns before it walks the runway at New York Fashion Week today! Not only were the gowns absolutely stunning, the all-white guest dress code made the event even more chic.

Andre Yabin and Luis Nazario started their dreamy bridal brand in 2007. The design duo has 25 years of combined experience in bridal couture and formal wear. Their extensive experiences in fashion and both designers' passion to make women feel uniquely beautiful make them the perfect couture partners. On top of their talent, both guys are extremely nice.

Binzario Couture also partnered with Roundup for Autism for this event and raised $3,300 for Autism Treatment Centers of Texas. All of these white dresses are part of a collection but Andre and Luis do custom dresses, especially for soon-to-be brides. Each dress is available in black and white, and custom colors are available upon request. These pictures don't do the dresses justice. They're even more beautiful in person. Small 4 Style's signature fragrance Prada Candy has recently released a set of 3 new, mini limited edition perfumes called "Candy Kiss." The original Candy scent you fell in love with is now accompanied by the "florale" and "l'eau" versions in small-sized bottles. This sweet and fresh fragrance is my favorite because it's not overpowering AND the bottle is pink! Graphic artist Vahram Muraytan also made the most adorable GIFs to go with the collection. Besides all of these amazing attributes, their slogan is "small is beautiful" which is not surprising of course!
