My love for Chanel is deep. In Paris last year, I made my first Chanel purchase - sunglasses! It was like a spiritual experience, I cried when I saw Coco's famous mirrored staircase. YSL Denver: The Fashion Studio

After seeing the YSL exhibit at the Denver Museum of Art, I stopped by the Fashion Studio. The Fashion Studio gives fashionistas a chance to sketch designs, pick out their fabrics, and create their own fashions. There even had a runway where you could model your designs, there were these little girls walking the catwalk when I was there. If I had been to the Fashion Studio when I was little, I would have been in heaven. Oh who am I kidding, I was in heaven even though I'm 19!

My mom and I at YSL

I just had to see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the Denver Museum of Art. So, my mom and I went to Denver for a quick trip to see YSL and hang out. The exhibit was so inspiring, I'm so lucky to have gotten to see it, especially since it is only being shown in Denver, Paris, and Milan - totally exclusive! And it was fun spending time with my mom, we always have a fun fashionable time.

We went to brunch at this French restaurant, Bistro Vendome. It was so fancy and Frenchie!

On the way to the Denver airport, I stopped into Nordstrom Rack and scored this Kate Spade dress for $150! I'm totally obsessed with it!

Our first night, we went to happy hour at Tamayo's. This raspberry margarita was so pretty.

"Fashions Fade, Style is Eternal"

OMG YSL! The Yves Saint Laurent retrospective exhibit at the Denver Museum of Art was fabulous! The exhibit is displayed in the United States exclusively in Denver - it's also being shown in fashion capitals Paris and Milan. Getting the chance to see YSL's couture creations over four decades was so inspirational. I spent 2 hours looking through the exhibit, I could've spent all day! The exhibit included 200 YSL couture looks, video clips, and sketches.

Yves Saint Laurent revolutionized fashion. His le smoking suit tuxedo was the first introduction of pants to women. Seeing these outfits in person was surreal. Every designer has been influenced by YSL. Even the outfits from 40 years ago look modern and wearable for today. He really set the style tone for years to come. There wasn't one outfit of his I wouldn't wear. I'm so happy I bought the exhibition catalog so I can experience the exhibit anytime! If I lived in Denver, I would see the exhibit more than just once!

YSL's desk. It's so interesting that he would work on this small desk for his entire career. When he would sketch, he wouldn't have a preconceived idea of what he wanted to make - the outfit would just appear.

This room was covered with 1,000's of fabric swatches in color order. It was so cool!

This wall was covered with le smoking suits. All so feminine and unique.

YSL was inspired by artists. This is a Monet-inspired jacket that took 0ver 200 hours to create. It's all hand-beaded - I wouldn't even know where to begin!

I'm off to Denver this morning! The Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective exhibit is on display at the Denver Museum of Art. I'm so excited to see the incredible French couture from one of the most influential fashion designers in history. The Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit in Dallas was such an inspiration, I'm sure YSL will be just as impressive! Project Emilie: Where's She Been?

If you're a fan of my favorite aunt / model Emilie, you're probably wondering why we haven't done a photoshoot in a while. She's recovering from a bad case of the chicken pox. Luckily her perfect porcelain skin is finally clearing up and the polka dot pox are healing. Emilie is looking forward to resuming her modeling career on my fashion blog soon. Once the pox are totally gone, we're going to do another photoshoot, so stay tuned!

One of the biggest fashion events of the year, the Met Gala, happened last week. Editor of Vogue (and rule of the fashion industry) Anna Wintour decides who's in and who's out. Only the biggest stars are invited. I read that Anna even banned Kim Kardashian from coming to the event (drama!). Dish Drag Brunch April 2012

I've just got to Dish about Drag Brunch. Some of the best drag queens in Dallas performed at Dish Drag Brunch; Jenni P, Jenna Skyy, and Candis Cayne were all so entertaining! Jenni P is fierce, funny, and fabulous! She was the emcee of the event, and had everyone cracking up over her jokes. Nothing was off limits, including this girl's hair clip, which was later tossed. Jenna Skyy worked the dance-floor, and kept the crowd going. The finale was Candis Cayne, who was recently on Rupaul's Drag Race to teach the queens how to dance flawlessly (OMG!). They were each so sweet, pretty, and genuine. I was so excited to meet them all! And this definitely won't be my last Dish Drag Brunch.
