Imagine a world where manufacturers don’t test that things work properly. Where no tests are run, apps fail every second, and electronic products are sold with no guarantee that they’ll function properly. While this is far from a dystopian nightmare, it’s not ideal.

If Quality Assurance didn’t exist, we wouldn’t dare to ride a roller-coaster and only the brave among us would buy cars – praying that nothing self-ignites and the brakes work. Sure, technical errors, bugs, and glitches are inevitable. As professional and experienced as your team is, perfection is most definitely difficult to achieve.

At the same time, as our world turns increasingly digital, people expect websites and apps to run smoothly. It’s no shock that 40% of people abandon websites that take more than three seconds to load. Here’s a great example of where Quality Assurance can improve UX. We can introduce all the customer acquisition strategies we want to, but if we don’t have a team controlling production and delivery standards, we won’t be able to retain valuable clients.

What Is Quality Assurance?

The name itself describes what a QA team does. The QA department ensures that a company’s services and products offer the best possible standard for any given product. They are responsible for planning and monitoring every step of the production process. This team is necessary for all types of business, so it can be responsible for checking that a factory labels their products correctly but also for detecting faults in apps to be launched. QA is a wide-ranging element of all production processes.

Through audits and tests, the QA team can detect and solve issues to ensure that products are performing within company standards. They can implement different testing methods that depend on the company’s needs and their products. For example, agile testing is a great way to supervise IT services.

The Quality Assurance approach is focused on preventing rather than solving issues. Every step is observed by the QA team to avoid delays later in the production process. Failures that are detected late take more time to correct.

Is It Really Necessary?

When a person sees you for the first time, it takes them only seven seconds to form an impression of you. Every time someone stumbles upon your website or buys your products for the first time, the same rule applies.

For smaller businesses and startups, a bad beginning can stop you from realizing your company’s full potential. If you’re trying to fight off the competition, your best weapon is a QA team with a strong eye for detail. They should take the time to ensure your services are close to perfection. One of the many useful tools to do this is knowledge management software.

If your company launches a faulty app, you may be losing money and new users. With the current uninstall rate being around 50%, it’s not worth the risk. A common error among many startups is sacrificing QA as a measure to reduce costs.

The consequences of poor quality and performance can lead to a remarkable 40% of annual revenue loss. This is why senior technology professionals reported spending 23% of their annual IT budget on QA testing.

Another important factor to take into account regarding modern society is that people rely on continuity. We take a 24/7 culture as a given and find it frustrating when websites are down due to software upgrades. It’s the QA team’s job to avoid blackouts due to bugs or errors. A popular solution for this is a business continuity app.

Source

The Benefits of Having a QA Team

Customer Loyalty

The key to a successful business is to keep customers content. If we are doing everything possible to prevent errors in our software and systems, we will secure loyal users that know they can rely on our services to work effectively. A satisfied client can also spread the word about your company and contribute to your company’s growth.

Better User Experience

If we are constantly on the hunt for new QA monitoring methods, we can ensure our user’s experience evolves and keeps up with tech advances. For example, methods like a continuous integration pipeline can be used to make changes to software safely. By introducing monitoring and automation, you can secure your app’s improvement.

Stronger Brand Identity

Your products, whether they are apps or goods, are one of the most important faces of your company. A service that works well is your closest ally. By focusing on QA testing, you’re elevating your company’s reputation. If there’s one thing your brand shouldn’t be known for is errors and a faulty system.

More Revenue

It’s simple maths. Good quality services equal satisfied clients. Consequently, a great customer experience leads to more revenue. It’s also important to remember that if people are paying for a service, quality assurance is key to securing good reviews and increased sales.

Conclusion

No matter what you sell or market, securing the quality of your products is a company’s biggest responsibility. If we don’t plan, test, and supervise before launching a service, we will be missing the opportunity to detect errors in time. This is why it’s vital to save a percentage of your budget to get the best QA team you can find.

While we’ve thankfully seen small businesses continue to recover, they’re now faced with another challenge—hiring and retaining employees. Every day we hear stories from our small business customers that align with the data and headlines about the hiring crisis in the United States. As of September, the number of open jobs in the U.S. reached over 10 million. However, despite the unemployment rate remaining above 5%, many businesses have reported difficulty finding workers. A large portion of small businesses fall into that category – according to the latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, 50% of small businesses have jobs that they can’t fill. While some businesses are utilizing creative methods to attract talent (such as sign-on bonuses, increased flexibility, etc.), there are other, more cost-effective opportunities that business owners can unlock. One little known fact is that a well-optimized approach to insurance can help business owners maximize resources and better attract talent.

Here are a few tips we share with our clients to help small business owners save money and boost the attractiveness of their employment offers:

Protect your people: Understanding what matters most to your prospective employees is really important to successfully hire and retain talent. New hires want to know they’re walking into a safe and stable place of work. Ensure you are up to date with all local and state requirements and create a plan for potential changes like mask mandates, COVID-19 testing requirements, etc. To maintain a competitive edge against other small businesses fighting for talent, prioritize employee safety by holding regular training and workplace safety inspections. Every industry poses a unique set of risks which can become expensive problems for small business owners. Depending on your industry, ensure there is a plan in place to reduce potential risks, and all employees are trained properly.

Triple check your selection: Do you know what kind of insurance your business actually requires? A great first step is to research this and confirm you’re using the right type of insurance, especially if you are going to take on risk—e.g., open second locations or expand to new areas. If you don’t have the right insurance, the financial and safety concerns surrounding your small business can increase significantly. No one wants that after the long year-and-a-half we’ve had! The security of insurance—the right insurance—enables small businesses to grow and hire safely.

Shop around and explore your options: Supply and demand is no secret and as a consequence talent costs have gone up. Finding ways to save money elsewhere can make a real impact on your business’ bottom line. One option is to seek out alternative insurance providers that could help you immediately save money. For example, with workers’ comp insurance, there is a common misconception that insurance costs are fixed, but it’s actually variable and by shopping around you can unlock more affordable rates. You can compare rates among insurance providers on your own or work with an agent. At Pie, we’ve found many small businesses overpay by up to 30%. Take the time to ask, you could find crucial savings.

A little organization…a lot of saved $$: It’s important that your insurance approach remains organized and accurate. For example, correcting simple inaccuracies can protect you from taking a financial hit at your annual audit. First, confirm your provider has accurate payroll information. Second, ensure your employees are properly classified by class code. Additionally, hit deadlines for workers’ comp notification and claim forms. Lastly, remember to stay vigilant and keep an eye out for fraudulent workers’ comp claims. Having more money and security will provide you with the cushion to grow.

While it’s certainly a competitive time for small businesses, it’s also an opportunity to build a repeatable strategy that uses creative ways to attract and retain employees. Communicate to your team, let them know how you’re protecting them and don’t let your insurance fundamentals get in the way.

Pie Insurance Co-founder, Dax Craig. Pie is one of the fastest growing insurtechs on the market – the company raised $118 million in series C funding earlier this year, experienced record-breaking growth in Q2, and recently expanded its executive team and board of directors.

History tells us that a unique business idea can take you a long way. Consider the introduction of K’nex or Spanx or even Uber, to name a few ideas and the millions that followed those innovators afterward. But with all the quick-thinking entrepreneurs out there, success typically boils down to how you manage your company, not only the product or service you’re selling. This post explores the risks most startups face and how to navigate them savvily. Let’s dive in.

Sourcing Funds

For many new business owners, securing the capital to grow their business is challenging. Whether the money is in the form of venture capital or business loans, sourcing funds is tough. Plus, unforeseen expenses and sticking to a budget only add to the worries that the money will run out.

Although cash flow problems and other financial concerns aren’t challenges welcomed with open arms, most small businesses must face them. But improving your company’s financial health by sourcing funds isn’t about luck; instead, it’s about doing your due diligence and knowing your industry inside and out.

Additionally, most investors require specific types of coverage to safeguard their assets, including directors and officers (D&O) insurance. A D&O policy isn’t mandatory, but very few investors will consider funding companies without this healthy balance of risk and protection.

Managing a Team

Most top talent falls somewhere in between wanting security and wanting challenges— and it’s your job to find them. However, with remote work on the rise, hiring and managing a team is rapidly changing.

Furthermore, businesses must learn to attract and retain top talent differently than before the pandemic. A recent Bloomberg survey reported that nearly 40% of employees would consider resigning from their jobs if their current employer forced them to give up remote work.

Hiring the skilled individuals your company needs is a different ballgame now. Plus, with more social movements surfacing, workers are highly tuned to any violated employment practices, real or imagined. Keeping on top of best practices and remaining compliant with federal, state, and local laws is a must for small businesses.

Facing Everyday Exposures

Every entrepreneur knows that merely doing business opens up doors to risks. Bodily injury, such as famous “slip-and-fall” claims and property damage, pushes defense costs up to skyrocketing amounts. As a result, startups and small businesses can protect themselves from these vulnerabilities with a robust risk management plan, with general liability insurance as the foundation.

Consider a vendor delivering supplies to your facility but is injured after slipping on your floor. Who covers their medical expenses or any lost wages? For any company that purchased general liability coverage, this policy works to protect against these everyday exposures. Otherwise, these particular risks will carve away at your profit with out-of-pocket legal fees, medical expenses, and other costs.

Resolving Tech Issues

Any IT leader will tell you that 2020 was a nightmare-ish year. With nearly half of the American workforce working from home, IT specialists were busy around the clock. Cybersecurity, connectivity issues, and launching baby-faced digital services were tall orders.

Unsurprisingly, startups and small businesses face similar tech challenges. Whether it’s connecting remote teams or fighting off cybercriminals, technology presents many risks. Plus, as the most prominent malware attack, ransomware fees have climbed from an average of $5,000 in 2018 to $200,000 in 2020. Lamentably, the damage to businesses of all sizes is lasting.

As a result, many clients and vendors require companies to have cyber coverage before conducting business with them. Small companies are now more than ever re-evaluating their IT budget and investing in cyber insurance policies, reconfiguring their processes, and learning to educate their employees.

Scaling Up

Entrepreneurs and startup teams are well-known for their hustle. After all, marketing and sales are the lifeblood of any rapidly growing business. However, scaling up can get lost in the dust as other issues take precedence.

Most entrepreneurs endure sleepless nights, worrying about how to attract more customers. And when the customers come, can your technology keep the pace? While these are all valid worries — and genuine insomnia culprits — scaling up is unique to each business.

So, surround yourself with those who have been there, done that. Build a strong team. Take analytics to heart by learning from the past. Protect your assets with a hefty risk management plan. Lastly, capitalize on what makes you different, and never stop perfecting your management skills.

Planning for the Future

Here’s a pro tip: plan to succeed. Many entrepreneurs make the mistake of only looking ten steps ahead of themselves when high-end success calls for 20 steps ahead. Take that idea one step further by expecting the market (and life) to throw you curveballs, such as a heart-stopping pandemic.

Be the leader who covers all the bases. You don’t have to know it all right now; you only need to be willing to learn it. Remember, you don’t have to give up any ground when you protect the ground you’ve already conquered.

Many experts agree that the workforce of the future will combine in-office and remote work. In fact, 77% of business leaders believe their company will use a hybrid model next year.

Ensuring cybersecurity with remote work is no simple task, as the skyrocketing number of cyberattacks the past year demonstrates. And even though large enterprises dominate the headlines, many small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) — companies with fewer resources to devote to robust cybersecurity than Fortune 500 whales — were also heavily targeted.

Many organizations were vulnerable to hackers because they implemented only fragmented security practices at the beginning of the pandemic. The vast majority (85%) of CISOs admit that they sacrificed cybersecurity to enable remote work. Now, since remote work will be a constant fixture rather than a temporary measure, it is time to fully address its challenges to ensure both flexibility and resilience.

Challenge #1. Lack of control over remote endpoints

In early 2020, many organizations equipped their newly remote employees with corporate laptops. Most of them took several steps toward securing them, such as installing antivirus software and establishing a patching policy. However, when corporate devices are outside of the company’s perimeter, the IT team cannot fully control them, and remote workers often put them at risk. Indeed, 41 percent of employees use personal applications when working from home — applications that are not monitored by the IT team but often contain vulnerabilities that cybercriminals can exploit. Therefore, it is essential to provide your IT team with extensive visibility into the state of your remote endpoints, including the ability to spot outdated and unsupported applications and update or remove them.

Challenge #2. Obsolete cybersecurity practices

The shift to remote work has also exposed the limitations of a perimeter-based approach to security. To enable secure access for remote workers, many organizations began relying on VPNs. But once a user connects via a VPN client — which all too often requires only traditional username-password authentication — they are considered to be trusted and are granted access to corporate systems.

Only recently, the credentials for 900+ VPN servers were compromised. Those credentials provide hackers with access to the entire network of the companies using the VPN servers, unless additional security checks are in place beyond authentication at the perimeter.

Accordingly, experts recommend that organizations adopt a Zero Trust model: No user or device should be trusted until verified. A comprehensive implementation of Zero Trust involves multiple strategies, such as network segmentation, strict password complexity policies, multi-factor authentication, and least privilege access. Begin by prioritizing Zero Trust practices based on your specific needs.

Challenge #3. IT complexity

8 in 10 IT professionals say that the complexity of their job increased over the past year. Adding technologies to enable remote work on top of all the legacy tools and processes has increased IT complexity. The associated stress and fatigue increase the risk of misconfigurations, missed patches, and other mistakes that could lead to a security incident.

A thorough IT asset inventory can be invaluable in helping IT teams regain control. With accurate insight into the IT ecosystem, they can remove duplicate systems, simplify workflows, and develop a viable strategy for operational security across the hybrid workforce.

Challenge #4. Lack of cybersecurity awareness

The US has had an official Cybersecurity Awareness Month (October) for nearly two decades, but 85 percent of cyber incidents still involve human error. One reason is that employee training is often woefully insufficient: A single online course followed by a quick quiz cannot establish the strong cybersecurity culture required for cyber resilience — especially when the stress of extended remote work during a global health crisis is making more people prone to mistakes.

Improving the situation requires changing the corporate mindset. Instead of treating people as cybersecurity liabilities to be blamed when they make mistakes, see them as cybersecurity assets. Set up and facilitate discussions about cybersecurity, and encourage knowledgeable individuals to educate their peers. Emphasize how internalizing cybersecurity best practices will benefit the company and transfer over into employees’ personal lives.

Challenge #5. Cloud security risks

Cloud adoption is expected to increase even as some workers return to the office. In fact, Gartner forecasts worldwide cloud spending to hit $304.9 billion in 2021, an 18.4 percent increase from 2020.

However, organizations that venture hastily to the cloud often leave security gaps. Common mistakes include not fleshing out security requirements before deploying solutions and having siloed teams implementing overlapping cloud technologies.

Now it is time to define and enforce appropriate security controls centrally. Good cloud security hygiene involves adopting a Zero Trust model as described earlier, with particular emphasis on visibility, access control, policy enforcement, mobile device management (MDM), insider threat detection, patch management, and disaster recovery.

This article wraps up my story of becoming an entrepreneur. Thanks for reading. As we discussed the tips and lessons I learned to help build a successful business, I am thrilled to leave you with this final piece. And there is no bigger, better tip than: Be ready for the hard work and celebrate all your accomplishments, no matter how small.

Success is a relative term. It describes meeting and achieving goals and attaining targets. It can be relative to your level of goals and targets. This is why so often the common phrase has been to set SMARTgoals, which aptly stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound. This is a key tool when creating the operational plan of your vision. Examples of common goals can be increasing revenue, building client base, gaining market share, and they can also include overall growth, hiring, training and succession planning.

Marketing and advertising, along with exceptional client service, will help increase sales and revenue. Monitoring your costs and support from advisory services will help you identify areas to maintain your profit levels. As we previously discussed, remember that you can’t, and truly shouldn’t, do these things alone. Your planning may need a revamp if you have not thought about long term growth and succession planning.

When thinking of succession planning, you must come to terms that no one will do the work the same exact way as you do. It’s your business and passion, so a new partner won’t have the exact same intensity for the business – that’s why it is your business. And that is ok! With this in mind, you should create true transparency and always refer back to your established mission and vision. This culture will lead to exceptional hiring, training, learning and development.

Owners tend to think they can’t afford to hire help or can’t pay an appropriate rate for talented team members because they currently do not have the sales to offset the expense. However, this is a false notion. Keep your eyes open for future talented team members – always. Look for characteristics of who you trust, who can exceed your expectations with proper training and who can possibly accomplish certain tasks better than you can. When you find these individuals, don’t let them get away. Identify their passion and their vision and future. Nurture that vision and adapt it to compliment your businesses.

Start documenting your business’ processes in early stages. Get that vision and mission down on paper. Create a list of procedure sets and processes that can easily be turned into an onboarding document. Include the lessons you learned and the questions you had about the business itself. You are not giving the secrets of your business away, (spoiler: the secret is you!); however, the tips of success in the business can be taught to your team, allowing you to fine tune those processes and adapt. You will find that review of the processes is much faster than doing the work over and over. This additional time savings will allow you to further step back, and look at the business from the “30,000 foot level.” Rinse and repeat, keep adapting.

It has been so rewarding to be the CEO of my business as opposed to an employee of my business. I have discovered how inefficient I was, and I am able to now look at the bigger picture, and enjoy the business so much more.

Here’s to your success! I hope my entrepreneurial lessons of first steps in taking the leap, creating the business formation, overcoming initial business obstacles, and now this final piece have provided value to you as you think about becoming an entrepreneur as you continue down this path. Many businesses fail within their first year and 70% of businesses do not make it to their 10th birthday. In order to #BeTheThirty percent that makes it beyond one decade, you need to plan and act now – these were the keys to my success and I wish you many successes of your own!

In a world that values you for your productivity, it’s easy to get stuck in overdrive. How do you learn to slow down when everything seems to be speeding up at a rapid rate?

As an entrepreneur who’s experienced burn-out and an addiction to over-achievement rooted in childhood trauma, I’ve committed myself to learning about my nervous system as an everyday wellness practice.

A part of my “recovery” process has been learning to slow down, feel and notice the “unconscious” patterns of my nervous system. In doing so, I’ve created a framework that may support you as you navigate a busy, hectic global marketplace.

Since we live in a technology-based world, allow me to explain it through that lens of experience. The human body is very similar to your computer or phone:

It stores memory in data centers inside your hard-drive (mental and emotional imprints layered into your nervous system memory)

It holds browser history to support a better user experience (this is literally a survival instinct of adaptation and protection)

Over time, too much data can slow you down (you’re not meant to go-go-go. Every machine needs to be turned off.)

Clearing cache and cookies can improve your user experience (everything can run more smoothly and process better)

You need to recharge, reboot, and upgrade your mainframe consistently (breath, rest, gratitude, attention)

When a computer’s operating system is malfunctioning, short circuiting, or running sluggish; you need to upgrade your system before you would expect proper running of the various programs and apps you have installed.

Well the operating system of the human body is the Central Nervous System. It is the ‘communication network’ for all electrical signals between your brain, heart and your body.

Your computer comes from the store with DEFAULT settings that may not be your “user preference.”

We too have DEFAULT settings programmed into us from our earliest manufacturing environment, i.e.:

memory of your lived experiences

past failures

worries

early abuse

limiting beliefs

relationship patterns

traumas

resentments

cultural, familial, societal and gender programming

These are literally stored “data,” in a full hard drive, living in your physiology, psyche, your nerve channels, and subconscious mind.

Just as your computer may have an old, outdated operating system from years ago; you too may be running on old programming, outdated wiring, malfunctioning equipment that doesn’t support your present day function.

Understanding your nervous system: the wiring of your main communication highway (spine), the positive and negative currents of your brain, controlling the left and right sides of your body respectively. This is critical to your basic everyday functioning.

Strengthening your nervous system will improve your everyday operating, and can potentially increase the bandwidth and processing power. Essentially it’s like upgrading yourself from “dial-up” technology to high-speed data transmission.

So how do you do it? Attention on your Breath. Research shows that awareness of your breath can change your brain instantly. The key to breath is consistent attention.

Practice with me. Here are two simple attention practices to begin to “clear your cache and cookies” instantly.

BREATHE: Engage your electrical energy intentionally

Breathe in and out through your nose.

Relax the tongue behind the two front teeth (this helps to soften lizard brain reaction patterns)

As you breathe, try to expand the ribs on the inhale, and deflate them on the exhale

Even if your ribs don’t move, just focus your attention there and imagine them moving.

Extend your inhale to last for 5 seconds.

Extend your exhale to last for 5 seconds

Continue to practice for 3-5 minutes

The LOVE Process: Learn to notice how energy flows in your body.

Begin by imagining a grounding cord or current from your hips, low back and belly extending down to the earth like a tree trunk. Feel the security of it as you breathe.

Locate yourself (put your hand somewhere on your body)

Observe your inner space. (what do you notice? Find your breath, notice sensations)

Variance-Vibration-Velocity (what’s the direction, speed, quality of sensations)

Excavate the excess energy (send the energy down the body into the root systems of the ground)

The total number of mobile apps available in the world is 8.93 million. Isn’t that a colossal figure? It appears that the mobile development market is growing. Consider the trends for apps offered in the App Store from 2008 to 2020.

Nowadays, an idea spreads quickly and becomes a mobile app in the app shop or play store. As a result, outsourcing mobile application development has steadily grown in popularity. To be honest, mobile app development has become a powerful voice for organizations looking to increase their revenue and elevate their image to the next level.

In 2021, revenue from application outsourcing is expected to reach US$108,748.6 million. Businesses benefit from a professional staff, high-quality work, and a low-cost price for mobile app development. As a result, these IT firms regularly entice enterprises to outsource app development.

Because the mobile market is continually growing, a mobile app development company in the USA offshore isn’t going away anytime soon, especially given the benefits that come with it. Are you in search of an outsourcing company that can make you grow your application then we can help you in the best manner? The quick and easy tips will make you enjoy outsourcing in the right manner.

Why does the business look for outsourcing app development?

If you successfully choose the correct mobile app development service provider, we can state that it is a convenient and cost-effective method. Rather than wasting time haggling for qualified individuals, it is better to outsource your business app project to skilled and experienced developers wherever they are available with their mobile app standards.

If your company wants to take advantage of outsourced mobile app development solutions with tremendous flexibility and cost savings, you’ve come to the correct place. Here’s what you need to know to ensure the success of your next outsourced app project.

Developers’ group

Who needs a skilled, capable, and knowledgeable workforce? If you want to hire a great team without fixing it up, outsourcing is the way to go. Outsourcing app development is an option for firms wishing to expand their business and produce a mobile app. From India and America, the corporations fund the most talented, creative, and skilled outsource crew.

Saving time and effort

Work is dedication, and time is money. Outsourcing allows you to save time and work resources. Let us simplify the difficulties of spending time on talent acquisition and meetups. But, it also raises the budget. What can you do to make it more manageable and resourceful?

App development versatility

While developing an app, procedure changes, something goes up and down, costs are cut off, budgets fluctuate, and anything can happen. We expect anything larger to be processed in-house. Experts, it is said, never put your project down because they have been balancing product efficiency for years.

Choosing the Best Mobile App Development Outsourcing Company

The mobile sector is still going strong. Mobile software development companies are thriving all over the world. And the majority of them choose to work on projects that are outsourced.

Most of these organizations, if we see the trend, rely on outsourced staff from industrialized countries.

The reason for this is that there is a large pool of such programmers available. So the first step is for developing countries to continue developing and learning more about mobile app development. The other factor is a stronger desire to save money.

Internal apps can promote remote work capabilities and connect employees to a wealth of resources and communication tools on the company side. Businesses desire to develop applications for a variety of reasons. 83 percent of HR professionals are having trouble onboarding and identifying qualified employees. When we’re talking about highly skilled coders, that number swiftly grows.

There is a growing demand for smartphone applications. With America’s average of every 12 minutes checking its telephone and spending 90% of the time in mobile apps, intelligent companies want to access the huge consumer applications sector. Based on the +$150 billion business, consumers will download over 250 billion applications by 2022 from app shops. The typical user spends $88 on applications and purchases on the iPhone over a year.

Why is Outsourcing a Necessary Part of Mobile App Development?

These two parameters are used to outsource various tasks in mobile app development:

Clientele who are decent and trustworthy

Extensive development experience

However, the success of every mobile app development services project is determined by more than simply these two elements. The need for redevelopment might sometimes occur as a result of these two key elements failing. In such cases, a larger budget and more effort are required to turn a failed project into a success.

The five easy tips for mobile app outsourcing in 2021

Strategies to Reduce Development Costs, Turn Failed Mobile App Development Projects into Successful Projects, and Ultimately Develop a Successful App. Let’s get all these done from an outsourcing company with the help of these easy tips:

Know your requirements

Before looking for app development choices, you must first determine what you want from your app. Knowing what you want can help you explain your needs to your developer more clearly.

If you don’t know, you’re more likely to get a product that doesn’t live up to your expectations or performs poorly. Furthermore, the more changes you require, the more time and money you squander.

Here are some questions to think about while determining your requirements:

Who is your target market?

What is the goal of your application?

What is your app’s most notable feature?

What further features do you require?

Is your app available for free or for a fee?

What is your monetization strategy for your app?

Pick the right option.

Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for any business or app. It is entirely dependent on your needs. And, of course, there’s the matter of your budget.

Consider the advantages and disadvantages of each option before deciding who you want to outsource your app development to.

You can outsource your app development to agencies and specialized organizations, typically with a team of professionals who can provide you with quick results and a strategy-focused approach.

However, this solution may be quite costly, and it is unlikely to be ideal for small firms on a shoestring budget. Instead, small businesses can save money by outsourcing their app development to independent/freelance developers.

Communicate

Never underestimate the value of communication, especially when it comes to app development outsourcing. When looking for the perfect developer to hire, excellent communication skills and responsiveness should be at the top of your list.

You can easily maintain a smooth development process by making sure that you and your developer are both willing to ask questions, clarify any misunderstandings, and answer each other promptly.

If you don’t speak with your developer frequently, you might not always be on the same page. This may result in more errors, revisions, fees, and disputes.

Collaborate

If you’re planning to hire a developer, you need to be confident in his abilities and experience. It is not a one-sided project to outsource your mobile app development. Don’t expect to transmit a list of specifications and have a great product appear out of nowhere.

Allow your development partner to weigh in on your approach and needs with their thoughts, comments, and suggestions. After all, they’re more technically savvy than you are. They can even assist you in eliminating irrelevant or redundant elements and are a waste of money.

Plus, by making app development a collaborative process, you give your development partner a sense of ownership.

Talk about the hidden costs.

In the outsourcing sector, several payment arrangements abound. Some companies provide flat prices, while others charge membership fees depend on the scope of their services. The first step is to determine your scope while trying to discover expenses.

You may be charged extra if you want applications on both platforms. There may be extra charges to some software functions. Some outsourced businesses might cover hidden expenditures in order to increase their financial value.

Conclusion

How can you get the most out of your mobile app development outsourcing? Knowing your requirements, assessing the benefits and drawbacks of various app development solutions, asking the proper questions, creating clear expectations, and constantly communicating effectively and timely are just a few crucial tips.

These pointers will undoubtedly assist you in making better judgments when outsourcing your app development, but they are only the beginning. Every organization has its own set of issues and requirements, and you must determine the best solutions for your needs.

Salesforce is the largest Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool in the world. Over the years, it has evolved into a beast that can do everything your Sales & Marketing teams need it to do (and more!). Its size means it’s a great addition to your company but also makes it tricky to test.

In this article, we will give you some actionable Salesforce functional testing tips. We hope to make your life testing different functional aspects of Salesforce as painless as possible from day one.

Salesforce Functional Testing Tips

#1 – Run Tests as Real Users

Salesforce tests run at the System level by default. Since your end users will be using Salesforce with user-level permissions, you need to run your tests with these permissions. If you don’t, your tests will likely break and cause unforeseen bugs—things that work in the test environment but not in production. Don’t make this common mistake!

#2 – Create Test User Accounts

You could use real user accounts to run your tests with user-level permissions. Using existing accounts saves the hassle of setting up a new one for you. But this will cause problems if you and the actual user are logged in simultaneously. Salesforce gets confused if it sees one account performing standard Salesforce work and also running functional tests. This confusion will cause all your tests to crash, and your error reports won’t tell you why. This tip alone will save you hours of head-scratching and reduce the number of false positives you see.

#3 – Find the Built-In Features

Salesforce is massive and comes with many built-in features you cannot remove or turn off (even if your company never uses them). If you tested all these built-in features, you would waste a lot of time (since Salesforce has already extensively tested them!). Keep a list of the built-in features so you can just focus on the custom features your business has implemented.

#4 – Test Different Browsers

Salesforce is a web application, and users will interact with it through different browsers. Therefore, you need to perform salesforce functional testing in all browsers. What works in Google Chrome may not work in Safari, which may not work in Firefox, and so on. Checking all the browsers ensures everyone can use Salesforce regardless of their browser preferences.

#5 – Be Aware of Visual Force Pages

Pay extra attention when testing the Salesforce UI. Most of the web pages are Visual Force pages, so not all elements will load simultaneously. Give your test suite enough time to load everything; don’t rush through and assume it is all working since you may be testing aspects that haven’t appeared yet!

#6 – Make Tests Call Multiple Objects

If your tests only call one object at a time, they won’t reflect real-life. To solve this, for each trigger, have at least one test that calls multiple objects. However, Salesforce gives you a limited amount of compute resources for your tests; you don’t want to use them up calling one trigger with too many objects. A good number is 10-20.

#7 – Limit Data Access for Unit Tests

If your functional tests have access to every piece of data your business stores on Salesforce, this won’t reflect your production environment. Limit the amount of data your unit tests have access to by setting seeAllData to false in your test classes. Thankfully, Salesforce recently made this the default behavior for all tests, but it is still good practice to set it manually as it improves code readability.

#8 – Arrange – Act – Assert

Having a framework to follow will significantly improve your efficiency when writing tests and ensure consistent and high-quality output for the long term. First, arrange everything you need for your test—create objects, give appropriate names and prepare your test data. Put this all in a separate method to enhance code readability. Then act—run the logic or business rules you need to test on the objects you arranged. Finally, make sure you assert the results of your tests and check the result. A test that doesn’t assert the result isn’t really a test.

#9 – Automate Your Functional Salesforce Tests

Writing and maintaining all your tests by hand slows you down and makes your tests error-prone. Using testing tools fixes this problem. One such salesforce functional testing tool is Functionize. They use AI-powered low-code automation to make it easy for all teams across your business to implement lightning-fast testing with their end-to-end automation suite. In fact, Salesforce themselves uses it to test their own product! If you’re using Salesforce for your CRM, using the test suite they prefer makes sense.

Conclusion

So there you have it, nine actionable tips to improve your functional testing in Salesforce. But tips are no good unless you implement them. So get out there and start taking action. Every suggestion you implement will improve your company’s Salesforce workflow, which will only enhance your sales and marketing pipeline and lead to more growth for your business.

In the newly digitized world a lot of focus is placed onto digital means of communication and contact, with many consumers going through their customer journey entirely online without any form of face-to-face interaction with any member of your organization. This is really quite convenient as it lets you spread your net wide without a care as to how many employees you have, but when your services require communication things can be a bit trickier. Having many different ways your customers can contact you is great, but it also leads to a few problems.

There are many different forms of digital communication you can use to contact your customers, from email and telephone to more modern means like social media and mobile apps. These all work well on their own, and utilizing them as separate channels is called the multi-channel contact approach. These work well as separate entities, but when you need to blur the lines and cross over it can be difficult to maintain information. No-one likes having to repeat information, so this can frustrate customers and cause them to have a negative experience with your business.

What is an Omnichannel Contact Center?

An omnichannel contact center takes the philosophy of integration to heart. Essentially, it allows you to organize your channels of communication via means such as a cloud-based software or database, in order to keep information maintained between channels. The idea is that a customer can pick up a conversation on one channel, continue it on another and not be impeded by having to explain what’s going on again and again to different people – your employees can simply look up the stored information on that person to get up to speed. It’s time-saving on both the consumer and the business end and also greatly improves the customer experience, letting them walk away satisfied that you did everything you could to make their journey easier.

Why Use an Omnichannel Contact Center?

Setting up an omnichannel contact center is going to take a lot of work, but in today’s market it’s almost compulsory depending on your business model. The more tech-savvy younger generations consider customer service to be a top priority, and since technology has evolved past merely using websites there are many ways in which consumers can contact you. Since your customer base in the future is only going to get a higher percentage of those who are technologically minded, you can be sure that it’s a good investment.

Millennials and younger are making up a huge portion of consumers in today’s market, and can use up to six different digital touchpoints to interact with a business. There’s also an increasing tendency to contact via email or message-chat apps – things which leave a trail that can be looked over by the customer for their convenience – rather than simply using a telephone. It’s often about time too, as leaving a message can be done in an instant rather than waiting for a phone call to connect and talking in person.

Modern Customer Expectations and Desires

Customers are at the centre of your philosophy here, thus you should always be thinking about their desires when implementing your strategy. For most older consumers the more conventional channels work fine, so you’d be thinking about your younger, more tech-focused base here. A few customer expectations include:

Customization of services

Cross-device support

Automation (many millennials and younger hate having to talk to people to find the right channels)

Data protection (highly important)

First-contact resolution

The latter point is among the most important to younger consumers, as they’ve grown up in a world of instant communication and next-day deliveries. Time is precious to them, far more so than the older generations as they often have a lot more on their plates than their predecessors.

The omnichannel approach also lets you raise awareness about your other channels of communication, for instance someone who might not know about your app and emails in might be directed to the app to solve their issue – a great way of introducing more convenient tech to older generations who are more likely to default to the traditional means of communication like email and phone. Anything that gives your customers more options is great from a PR perspective, as it lets them choose a method of contact which is convenient to them.

Adapting to an Omnichannel Approach

Your next question is probably, “so how do we go about all this?”. Setting up an omnichannel contact center isn’t something that can just be done overnight, it needs careful planning and coordination. Using an existing framework is the easiest and quickest method to implement, but comes with its own set of challenges. Take a look at what your business needs and what you currently have in place. The existing means by which you might store your data – spreadsheets, word documents, databases – these can all be utilized with some simple templates that you can find online. Most small businesses don’t need anything elaborate, it’s all about the sheer amount of data you need to store as only when the cache becomes too large does access slow down to the point of needing something more complex.

The next important thing to keep in mind is making sure that everyone has access, and every employee knows to store the data they collect in a standardized form – it’s no use having all of this information if you can’t read it, after all. Using a template or guidelines will help massively with this, as any employee reading data they didn’t record can simply check for certain tags to identify what they need to retrieve.

Wrapping Up

Omnichannel approaches aren’t new by any sense of the word, however applying them to digital forms of contact to create an omnichannel contact center is a great new innovation that can improve both your business’ runnings and the customer experience you provide. It’s all about being consistent, and making sure your contact is as smooth as possible to facilitate the easiest and quickest solution to your customers’ problems.

Consumer spending is continuing to increase and businesses are welcoming back customers with open arms. With that, businesses are now faced with the perennial question of how to effectively and strategically re-engage with customers. With business formation at all-time highs and the world of commerce changing irreversibly as a result of the last 18 months, it will remain important to re-engage with existing customers, and also continuing to look for new customers to try your business, whether it’s online or in-person or, increasingly, both.

Below are five ways that businesses can re-engage with customers to continue building important relationships.

Maintain your online presence

Many businesses turned to selling online during COVID – both as a way to serve consumers in a contactless way and also as a way to keep their business going during lockdowns. While lockdowns have eased up in most places around the world and consumers are returning to stores, industry data – and Square data – shows that consumer habits have somewhat changed for good. These changes are in favor of the convenience of online shopping or, just as commonly, mixing and matching both online and offline (e.g. buy online pickup in store).

Consumers are continuing to use online methods of shopping as it provides an easy way to quickly and immediately shop around. If anything, now is the time to keep building your online presence so that it represents your brand, while also helping further attract more customers who are falling back into the normal pace of their lives.

Create a loyalty program

Loyalty programs are effective because they add value to the customer experience beyond the first interaction or purchase with you. In a world of fierce competition – both online and offline now, with competing products and services frequently just a few clicks away – a loyalty program that rewards customers for continuing patronage and engagement can go a long way.

Loyalty programs will give your customers first-class access to discounts and promotions and can also be paired with key life moments – birthdays, anniversaries and the like.

Use mobile to build an immersive customer experience

Mobile has become a huge part of a unified omnichannel experience as consumers use their phones for almost everything. Businesses can sell on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and more for greater visibility.

Now that QR codes have become mainstream and widely adopted, they offer a contactless way to increase sales and extend your brand across channels. Customers can simply pull up a menu or pay for a product right from their phone.

Send thoughtful, occasional marketing messages

Email and SMS marketing, when used thoughtfully and carefully, offer a number of benefits to you and your customers. You can quickly and efficiently share information on rewards, sales, coupons, and other timely moments right to their inbox or cellphone so they’re kept in the loop. You can also send shareable pay links through marketing messages to easily connect with customers and simplify the checkout process right at their fingertips.

If your business uses gift cards, you can offer these through your marketing program to further engage with clients and build those relationships. Send your most loyal clients a small gift card thanking them for their business and encouraging them to come in and shop!

Do remember, however, that the right to be in a customer’s inbox must be earned and re-earned over a long period of time. It is easy to get tempted and over-message customers, and it is the fastest way to get unsubscribes and annoyed customers. If you engage, do set up a thoughtful cadence that messages customers without overwhelming them.

Host an event

Everyone loves being invited to exclusive events and your customers are no exception. Hosting an event is a powerful way to incentivize them to reconnect with you face-to-face.

You can easily host an event at your in-person location if you have one, rent a pop-up space or a local spot to re-engage with customers. The event can be educational, to launch a new product or product line, or even to simply welcome everyone back! During the event you’ll get to spend some quality time with those who support your brand and can continue to touch base with customers whether they shop in-person or online.
