DMX to appear on the next season of Celebrity Rehab?

DMX is the #1 draft pick to appear on the next season of “Celebrity Rehab” — that is, if the rehab people can somehow find a way to keep him from being locked up.

DMX’s attorney, Gary Jenkins, tells TMZ reps for “Rehab” contacted him after X was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly violating his probation by using drugs.

Jenkins says the “Rehab” team is considering sending someone to DMX’s next court hearing to speak with the judge — just like Dr. Drew did with Jessica Sierra from “American Idol” — to try and get X placed in their care instead of being locked up.

The rapper is currently being held on no bond and is expected back in court March 16.

Monica and Rocko’s love affair is over. They are still parents of two little boys and plan on putting them first but that about wraps it up. Monica released a statement about the breakup and said she won’t be speaking again about it.

I know there were many rumors. I appreciate that you never dug into them for the sake of both our families. I am going to rest today & go back to work tomorrow. I am going to do what I have always done. Focus on my children, my family & my career. Rock was put under a lot of harsh scrutiny during our entire relationship and I’m sure that was not easy.

However at this point our focus is being great parents. He is a great father to his children and, continuing forward, that is my only concern. With every breath in our bodies we will make sure that they feel as little pain as possible And continue to have the lives they had before with no attention dedicated to our separation. I will not be speaking on the subject further unless it is with God whom I believe does everything with reason. I love my children and their father and I’m truly grateful for those that loved and supported us through the good and the bad throughout the years.

This is a lesson to some of you women. Don’t make big purchases, share bank accounts, build houses or buy houses with anyone until you’re married (Monica was in the process of building one with Rocko on her reality show). It just helps in keeping the confusion down and financial mistakes from turning into possible disasters.

America’s Best Dance Crew judge Shane Sparks just officially pled “not guilty” to eight counts of child molestation. Sparks was arrested mid-December for allegedly performing several lewd acts on an underage girl over a span of several years, beginning in 1994.

Shaq and Shaunie reached a divorce settlement and that little trick Shaunie tried to pull (moving to LA for a bigger divorce settlement) didn’t quite work. Shaquille O’Neal and his estranged wife, Shaunie have reached a settlement in their divorce . Shaunie’s mega-lawyer, Sorrell Trope, tells TMZ Shaq and Shaunie have reached agreement on all terms of the divorce, including property, custody and support. Under the agreement, the Florida courts will have jurisdiction to officially divorce the couple. In addition, a Florida judge will handle any issues that may arise involving property division and spousal support.

Trope tells TMZ the California courts will have jurisdiction over any issues related to child custody.

As we first reported, Shaunie filed for legal separation in California back in November, just days after moving to L.A. with their kids. We’ve learned Shaunie just filed a petition to dismiss the separation action.

Lil Wayne is living among the general population of inmates at the Eric. M. Taylor Center (the facility for sentenced males at Riker’s Island), but he is also afforded a low level of protective custody, due to his public profile.

“Inmate Carter is in a category of housing that we call ‘general population/escort,’ ” a New York City Department of Corrections official tells PEOPLE. That means when he leaves the housing area (his cell or the day room), he will have a captain escorting him at all times.

On an hourly basis, the rapper can decide if he wants to be locked in his cell or locked out of it – for security reasons, inmates are not allowed to freely move between their cell and the common areas.

• The Day Room
In this common area, which he shares with 19 other inmates, Lil Wayne can watch television, play cards, read the paper or just socialize. Since the day room is within the housing area, he does not have an escort here.

• The Meals
Breakfast is served at 4:30 a.m. Since a number of inmates will be going to court on any given day, the morning starts early for Riker’s residents. Lunch is served at 11, dinner at 4:30 p.m.

• The Clothes
Lil Wayne will wear the standard institutional clothing: Green work shirt and pants, slip-on style sneakers.

• The Cell
His six-by-ten space features a steel cot connected to the wall, a mattress, a sheet, a blanket and a pillow. There’s a sink and toilet in the cell as well, plus his personal property which includes the standard cup, razor, toothbrush and soap assigned to each inmate.

• Outside the Housing Area
With his escort, Lil Wayne can leave the housing area for attorney visits, regular visits (he’ll get two per week with up to three visitors), religious services or jail-offered programs such as one that helps inmates transition back into society. While some inmates have work assignments in and around the jail, he will not because, “then you’d have to send somebody off to escort him every day,” says the official.

• Recreation
One hour per day. The rapper’s facility features outdoor basketball courts.

• The Commissary
He can buy snacks and toiletries from his Commissary account, which friends and family can contribute to online. Reports that he’ll have an ipod are untrue, though he can purchase a battery-operated AM/FM radio and earphones to listen to music.

Bryson has been held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center since March 7 on two charges including possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and failure to appear. So he caught the charges before, these aren’t new charges.

NeNe addressed her son’s arrest in a statement issued this afternoon: “Like any parent, I am disappointed with the actions and arrest of my son, Bryson. Certainly, my husband and I will deal with this family issue in a private manner. My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana, and he certainly won’t be the last. Still, as parents, this is a chance for us to have an open dialogue with him about the dangers of any substance abuse. I realize as a parent that my job is never done. DMX was arrested earlier today in Arizona — and now his lawyer is reaching out to the one man who he believes can save him … Dr. Drew Pinsky.
Its pretty bad if his lawyer has to immediately disclose that he has an addiction and calls out for a doctor who has a reality show for celebrity addicts.

The details of the arrest are unclear — but the rapper’s lawyer Gary Jenkins tells us “He’s been battling addiction for some time and he’s in need of treatment.” Jenkins also tells TMZ, “We’re hoping that maybe Dr. Drew might be able to help him.”

DMX — aka Earl Simmons — was arrested a bazillion times over the last two years for all sorts of reasons … including drug charges. Jenkins added, “He’s a talented man … we’re praying for him.”

I hope DMX gets help because he’s an incredible talent, he’s as real as it gets juuuussssst……sprinkled with a little crazy.

Lil Wayne’s Lawyer got it wrong he will not be in protective custody!

Lil Wayne was shipped off to jail Monday, with his lawyer saying he wanted to hang tough at Rikers Island by doing his time with the general population.

And he’ll get his wish.

Even though defense lawyer Stacey Richman initially claimed that city officials were forcing the rapper into protective custody, it turns out he’s going into a regular cellblock. Correction Department spokesman Stephen Morello said the “Lollipop” singer will have “general population escort” status.

That means he’ll be escorted by a correction captain when outside of his housing unit – just like gang members. Inside, he’s free to socialize under the watchful eye of guards with the 17 men on his cellblock – or stay locked in his cell.

“It’s his choice,” Morello said.

He said the agency never got a request from Lil Wayne to be treated like any other inmate – and Richman conceded she never made one because she assumed it would be shot down. source

Lil Wayne is a prisoner: sentenced to one year

After delays for dental surgery on his diamond-studded teeth and a courthouse fire, rap superstar Lil Wayne was finally packed off to jail Monday.

A crush of photographers and screaming fans – along with rapper Birdman – followed the “Lollipop” singer into a Manhattan courthouse where Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon sent him to Rikers Island for a year on a 2007 gun bust.

Wayne, 27, shook his head no as the judge asked if he had anything to say before he was sentenced.

“I am imposing a year sentence,” Solomon said after Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi-Orbon asked that he give Wayne the jail term negotiated in a plea deal.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was cuffed. ”Keep your head up, Weezy,” shouted a fan as court officers guided him to a holding pen behind the courtroom.

With good credit, Lil Wayne could be out in eight months.

D’Angelo busted for solicitation on NYC

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested on March 6 after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village — with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.
D’Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said. He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment.

Is this a case of sex with no strings or oh how the mighty have fallen?

Beyonce opens a cosmetology center in Brooklyn!

On Friday (March 5), Beyoncé spoke in downtown Brooklyn, New York, at the Phoenix House, a nonprofit recovery center for drug and alcohol addiction, to unveil a project she and her mother, Tina, have dreamed of and worked on for years: the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center.

According to the press release, the program is “a seven-month cosmetology training course for adult men and women.” L’Oréal has donated all the products to be used at the center, and their spokeswoman Beyoncé, along with her mother, have pledged to donate $100,000 annually.

After brief remarks by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Tina Knowles, among others, Beyoncé graciously took to the podium to explain both her ties to the house — she first visited in 2007 as part of research for her role as Etta James in “Cadillac Records” — and her hopes for the program.

While Phoenix House provides varied vocational training, “I felt like they needed something that was geared towards women — something that would teach them skills that would give them hope even after the Phoenix House,” Beyoncé explained about why she chose to fund a beauty school. Her mother also owned and operated a salon in Knowles’ hometown of Houston.

“I saw that a salon was a place for women to socialize, share stories, cry, laugh and get advice,” she continued about her experiences growing up around a beauty parlor. She was close to tears as she added, “Most importantly, I saw the joy it brought my mother, knowing she was a part of their transformation.”

B admired the strength of the women and men who’ve chosen to go to Phoenix House, citing the stigma placed on the disease of drug and alcohol abuse, and that while none of them chose to be addicts, they have all “chosen to get better.” As the speech ended and a brief set of photo ops — including the cutting of a ceremonial ribbon — began, Beyoncé took to the microphone one last time. “It’s a very proud day for me and my mother,” she beamed.

Jay-Z and Beyonce take a trip to the White House

During the final moments of his performance at Verizon Center Wednesday night, Jay-Z casually dropped a gigantic boast: “I just came from the White House.”

White House officials were button-lipped about the visit Wednesday, but confirmed on Thursday morning that, yes, Jay-Z did indeed visit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. An official said the rapper toured the White House on Wednesday and had a quick, unscheduled visit with President Obama. The POTUS did not attend the concert.

After her sexuality was questioned in the media, The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak wants to set the record straight, saying that she’s “in a great place” with her as-yet-unnamed, still-not-divorced boyfriend, Big Poppa. Rumors that Zolciak was involved romantically with deejay Tracy Young kicked into high gear after Zolciak’s performance of her single, “Tardy for the Party,” at Atlanta club Gold Room Feb. 26. As for a romantic relationship between the two, “All I’m going to say is that she is a great friend of mine, I adore her, and she’s so talented,” Zolciak tells PEOPLE.
So you’re officially with Big Poppa?
We’re doing great. He’s fantastic. It’s been so on and off in the last two years, but the entertainment industry is really difficult and takes a toll on relationships. People are so fascinated with any part that has to do with my personal life. And it’s just that. You want to talk about my kids, I’ll do it all day long. You want to talk about my wig line, I’ll do it all day long. But this stuff … it just really makes me laugh.
Is he divorced yet?
He’s not legally divorced yet, and I haven’t told anybody that, so there you have it. He doesn’t live with his family like people think.
Does he live with you?
We’re … together a lot.
Real Housewives of Atlanta is between seasons. What are you working on right now?
My wig line is coming along amazing. I’m doing a celebrity VIP line first, and then I’ll [launch the line for the public] when I get the cost down. And something [else] I’m doing is writing a book on hair and makeup on a budget. And I have more music coming out, which is really great.
Your book and new music — are there timelines on those projects?
My next song is hopefully going to be out rather quickly. It goes right along with “Tardy for the Party.” … And my book, hopefully by August. It’s hard to get a book together and do a show and [raise] kids. … I get so many requests on skin care and makeup that I just kind of ran with it. It’s where my passion lies — makeup and hair.
Tell me about the song. What’s it called?
“The Ring Didn’t Mean a Thing.” We’re working on it as we speak. I’ve bounced it around, Tracy does a [version], and I would love Kandi [Burruss] to finish up the lyrics and make it perfect. The reality of the song and the meaning behind it is the simple fact is the bling only means so much — the cars and the lifestyle only mean so much to me. I would be lying to tell you I don’t love nice things. However, it doesn’t keep me with somebody. And that pretty much is the concept of the song.
Do you have a publisher for your book yet?
I have a ghostwriter who’s doing it with me and she’s handling all of that. She’s written several books with other people. I’m excited about it.
Are you getting used to your celebrity status by now?
I have two girls in middle school and that’s what people forget a lot of the time. They’re my top priority. I could say a thousand things right now, but I’m trying to lay low right now. Every day it’s something new and it cracks me up. There are 40 paparazzi waiting for me the airport. And to think I wanted this so bad. But I wanted it, and I wanted to be exactly where I’m at.

Whitney Houston surprises Bobbi Kris on stage

Whitney Houston added two new songs to her set during her concert Wednesday in Adelaide, Australia. Halfway through the show, during the “unplugged” portion when Houston, 46, performs old hits, she announced it was her daughter Bobbi Kristina’s 17th birthday, a source close to the singer told PEOPLE. Houston then sang “Who Would Imagine a King” from The Preacher’s Wife. “[It's] one of Krissy’s favorites,” the source says, “and is not in the show.”

Then a birthday cake was rolled out on stage, and Houston invited her daughter to come up, joined by her dancers and another tune – “Happy Birthday,” which was sung by the entire audience.

Mother and daughter also celebrated the occasion in Sydney earlier in the week during a stop on the singer’s Nothing But Love world tour.

“They rented a beautiful boat and took a four-hour cruise all around Sydney Harbor with Krissy’s friends, the dancers and family members,” adds the source. “That was the pre-birthday celebration. The cake at the concert was a complete surprise to Krissy. She had no idea!”

I love that Bobbi Kris travels with Whitney Houston and I’m happy to see the love displayed between the two of them. It’s soooooo cute!

Chris Brown reading to Harlem kids

Chris Brown continues to help the kids. First it was the Best Buddies Program now he’s reading to kids at a Harlem charter school. Brown was invited to Sisulu-Walker Charter School’s annual “Family Read Night.”

“I extended an invitation to all celebrities and politicians, and we had an acceptance by him,” said principal Dawn Cejas, who added the evening was geared to encourage students to read. Olubunmi Sonubi, a mother of Sisulu-Walker fifth-grader Ishola, said she was okay with a “second chance” for Brown.

“He can come even though he was arrested,” she said. “He’s coming to read to the children. He apologized on TV. Sometimes in real life we make mistakes.” source

Allen Iverson’s Wife Files for Divorce

A week after the Philadelphia 76ers’ Allen Iverson announced he was leaving basketball for the rest of the season to be with his sick 4-year-old daughter, the star’s wife filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court.
In the divorce petition filed on Tuesday, Tawanna Iverson said her 8 ½-year-long marriage to the guard was “irretrievably broken.” In the petition, Tawanna Iverson asked for temporary and permanent custody of their five children as well as child support and alimony.

She did not ask for a specific dollar amount. The children range in ages from 17 months to 15 years.
The children and their parents have lived in north Atlanta since August, according to the court filing. source

Lil Wayne was awarded his second court postponement Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out in the courthouse basement — and Dwayne Carter took full advantage of the break. That evening, the 27-year-old — who’d previously avoided sentencing because he needed a round of dental surgery — headed to the Jay-Z show at Madison Square Garden, where he nearly stole the spotlight from Hova himself. When Wayne appeared onstage with female rapper du jour Nicki Minaj and Young Jeezy, the crowd went wild.

Afterward, Weezy eschewed the official afterparty at 40/40 and instead headed to the studio.

“He wanted to get some more tracks down before his sentencing,” says an insider. “There are plenty of musicians who want to work with him in the next year when he’s locked up.”

Young Money members who did join Beyoncé and Jay-Z in the VIP room at 40/40 included Mack Maine and Tyga Tyga, but the others weren’t without Wayne for long. He eventually met up with the group at downtown hotspot 1Oak, where the crew — plus will.i.am, Drake and Trey Songz, who had performed earlier in the night at M2 — watched LMFAO performed their hit “Shots.”

“Everyone was yelling things like ‘free man’” at Lil’ Wayne — even people who didn’t know him,” says a spy. “He kept ordering bottle after bottle of gold Dom Perignon.”

Let’s hope the rapper doesn’t get too excited — he’s still facing a year in the slammer on a gun-possession rap. And it looks like that day is going to come sooner rather than later for the embattled rapper: His new court date is set for Monday.

Keyshia Cole had a baby boy named him Daniel

Keyshia Cole, 28, tells UsMagazine.com exclusively that she and Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel Gibson “are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr.” It’s the first child for the R&B star.

The couple’s son was born Tuesday at 11:54 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. “Both mother and baby are doing great,” she adds.

“The proud couple would like to thank everyone for giving them privacy during this special time. Keyshia would also like to give a special thank you to her fans that have been with her since the beginning sharing in her growth as a woman and an artist.”

Alicia Keys: Love is the most important thing in the world

As influential as the city has been and as huge as Empire State of Mind has gotten, Keys is quick to point out that Element is not a “New York” album. “Of course you’ll hear New York in it because, you know, I am New York. So it’s definitely in there, and that’s where I live and what I know and where I grew up, so that element is just natural,” she explains.

If there is a clear theme in Element of Freedom, it’s love, lost and found. One need only look at the track list for confirmation: “Put It in a Love Song,” “Love Is My Disease” and the Prince-infl uenced single, “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart.” “Love does play a prominent role in the album because I believe love is the most important thing in the world,” she says. “It’s the one thing we can all understand.”

From just about anyone else, statements like, “You can succeed with practice,” and “I believe love is the most important thing in the world” might come off as precious or artifi cial, but spend just 10 minutes talking to Keys, and it’s clear that her positivity and sincerity are 100 percent authentic. When you consider her work outside of music with her Keep a Child Alive foundation, which provides services to those affected by HIV/ AIDS in Africa and India, and her latest venture, AK Worldwide, which is a multimedia home base for all of her creative projects, you understand why her convictions are so solid. “It’s all about igniting the world in some way,” she says.
