Rihanna Said Chris had No Soul in His Eyes That Night

In the 20/20 interview airing tonight, Rihanna offers a graphic account of the fateful Feb. 7 confrontation with her then-boyfriend Chris Brown – including the terrifying blankness that seemed to come over him as he assaulted her.

She says all she kept thinking was, “When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him.”

The fight, she says, started when Brown received a text message from another woman while they were driving away from a Grammy Awards party.

“I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn’t tell the truth. And I wouldn’t drop it,” Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer in the interview, portions of which aired Friday morning on Good Morning America.

“I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it … It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly.”

How ugly? “I was battered, I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face,” she says.

She felt trapped. “My next option was to get out of the car and walk, start walking in a gown and a bloody face,” she says. “I didn’t have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan.”

Rihanna believes now that the passionate love affair between the young couple – she was 20 at the time, he was 19 – was an unhealthy one. “The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally dangerous,” she says. “Because it was a bit of an obsession.”

She also discusses how she eventually broke things off with Brown, and how she feels about him today.

“Love doesn’t go away right away,” she says. “He didn’t accept that very well. Obviously he didn’t want us to be apart. But I had to make a decision for me.”

Does she hate Brown now? “No, I don’t hate him at all,” she says. “I actually love and care about him. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn.” source

Mariah Carey admitted to suffering emotional and mental abuse during a revealing “Larry King Live” interview airing on Wednesday. In the CNN clip, Carey candidly discloses her past experience with abuse after King questions her about Rihanna and Chris Brown’s troubled relationship.

“Abuse has several different categories . . . emotionally, mentally, in other ways,” she says. “It’s scary. You know, I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in, if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on.”

When she first learned about Rihanna’s assault, she was in disbelief.

I don’t know what goes on. I wasn’t really allowed out of the house, so I can’t imagine what she went through.” King continues presses Carey about why it’s so hard to get out abusive relationships.

“For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage, but a business thing where the person was in control of my life,” she says. The “Hero” singer, who married Nick Cannon last year, was previously wed to music executive Tommy Mottola in 1993. The pair divorced five years later. Carey, 40, drew from these painful experiences while working on “Precious,” a critically-acclaimed urban drama opening this Friday that follows an illiterate and abused Harlem teen where Carey plays a social worker.

“There’s other things, and other times in my life, and things that I will eventually talk about when I write my book . . . just certain things that also make me identify with ‘Precious,” she says. source

Rihanna said in her interview with Diane Sawyer that she was ashamed and embarrassed by her love of Chris Brown. She was embarrassed that she fell in love with a person who could treat her like that. The short clip was about what she could teach people and how her first reaction was normal. The first reaction being running back to him. Tomorrow she’s supposed to reveal the details of what happened inside the car.

I think she’s full of it. She didn’t speak out to help these young girls before it was time to promote her album. I won’t even remind you all that it was just less than 3 months ago that Rihanna still wanted the stay away order lifted. Her lawyer made it clear that she wanted that order removed. So when did she come to these conclusions about being a spokesperson for women? Oh and in case you’ve been living under a rock, Rihanna’s album is dropping on November 23.

Kim K. took a black eye for charity and her brother Rob landed a concussion. Don’t worry, it was all for a good cause.

When Rob stepped in the ring to fight, his opponent was at least 25 lbs heavier than him, even though the organization had assured us that they were screening the people we were fighting against and that they would be within 5 lbs of our weights! At one point Rob’s mask fell off and when he put his hands down he got hit in the face and ended up in hospital with a concussion. Rob’s a strong guy and can definitely hold his own, but he wasn’t expecting to get hit after his mask had fallen off! This guy just got really down and dirty!

We were all really angry and upset about what had happened to Rob, but I hadn’t even fought yet and I didn’t want to let the charity down, so I decided to get in the ring. My girl was a good sport, but she was tough! I knew I had to do it for charity, since that’s what it was all about, but man, my girl could throw a punch! Look at my black eye!!!

At the end of the day, we did this for charity and that’s what counts. Rob is doing fine now and my black eye will be gone soon… I hope. You can try to bring the Kardashians down… but we’re a strong family. A concussion and a black eye can’t hold us down!

Sportscaster Paying a Million in Alimony and Child Support

CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz is out of his 26-year marriage – along with nearly $1 million a year in alimony and child support. A Connecticut judge ordered Nantz, who testified tearfully at the divorce trial, to pay his now ex-wife Lorrie $916,000 annually.

While Superior Court Judge Howard Owens found neither party at fault, it was Nantz – the lead voice of CBS’ NFL, college basketball and Masters coverage – who took the financial hit.

Under Monday’s nine-page decision, Nantz must pay his former wife $72,000 a month, plus $1,000 a week in child support for their 15-year-old daughter Caroline.

The alimony last until either his death or her remarriage, while the child support covers the next two years. Nantz is also required to cover his daughter’s college expenses until she turns 23.

Nantz’s ex-wife was seeking $1.5 million in annual alimony and child support.

During the trial, Nantz cried on the stand while testifying that his wife offered him no career support.

He also acknowledged an ongoing affair with a 29-year-old woman, although he insisted it began only because his marriage had “died” a decade ago. The romance began last year while Nantz was on a book promotional tour.

Nantz earns $3.9 million a year from his announcing job, court documents indicated.

The sportscaster’s lawyer said Nantz will not appeal the ruling.

Lorrie Nantz kept the couple’s six-bedroom home in Westport, Conn., along with a condominium where her mother lives. Jim Nantz must also pay $70,000 toward a country club membership for his ex-spouse.

Rihanna is in overdrive. She has an album coming out and of course everybody wants to hear her side of the story. She hasn’t said much but you can tell where she’s going. She’ll reiterate everything we already know and won’t tell us nothing that want to know.
Glamour: Let’s talk about this past year—you’ve obviously been through some difficult things. How did the people around you help you cope?

Rihanna: My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.

Glamour: Are you referring to the [Chris Brown] incident?

Rihanna: I am talking about starting with the night [before] the Grammys and then on. That was not the only thing that occurred this year. The picture leaking…it was one thing after another.

Glamour: You’re talking about the photo [reportedly of Rihanna’s injured face taken by police after Brown assaulted her] that was allegedly leaked by cops. You handled that so well; you kept silent in the press.

Rihanna: It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

Glamour: How has this event changed you as a person, as a woman?

Rihanna: I’m stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.

Glamour: Do you think you’ve gotten your strength from your mom?

Rihanna: Definitely. My mom gave us the tools to survive…. My parents separated when I was eight or nine. I helped her raise my [youngest] brother, because my mom was working all the time. He’s my favorite.

Glamour: Do you feel that this experience has laid the groundwork for coping with anything so public again?

Rihanna: It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, What, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?

Glamour: If you could offer a message to the millions of young women who look up to you, what would you tell someone who found herself in a similar situation?

Rihanna: Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

Lil Wayne is being sued again. He got a shoutout in the liner notes of Lil Wayne’s “Like Father, Like Son” album, but a Florida man says the rapper owes him a lot more than that. Thomas Marasciullo claims in a federal lawsuit that the singer stole his voice and used it on two CDs.

Marasciullo said he recorded some “Italian-styled” spoken words for Cash Money Records in 2006 but was never paid or told how the recordings were to be used, a lawsuit filed yesterday in Manhattan Federal Court claims.

“Like Father, Like Son” came out in October 2006 with Marasciullo’s recordings on it, the suit says. In December 2007, Birdman and Lil Wayne released a CD again with Marasciullo’s voice, the lawsuit says. source

Beanie Sigel Disses Jay-Z

Early Friday morning (October 30), Hot 97’s DJ Kay Slay debuted a shocking Jay-Z diss record delivered by non other than Roc-a-Fella Records artist Beanie Siegel. The track, titled “Average Cat” seems to be a response to “What We Talkin’ Bout,” the first track on The Blueprint 3. Siegel responds directly to the line “Grown men wanna sit on my lap/but I ain’t got a beard and Santa Claus ain’t Black.” Beanie clearly wants some attention from the man he refers to as his brother. He makes one clear accusation about the highly-publicized September 11 concert, during which Jay premiered his live performance of The Blueprint 3.
“The rapper Shawn called the police on me/cause I was front row at theBlueprint 3,” Siegel raps. “S**t, I just wanted to see him MC, and reminisce on when we was the R.O.C./But he called all the C.O.Ps, not only that, he brought out the F.E.Ds/So that’s telling me ‘F You Sieg,’/so F you too and F Bleek three.”At the end of the track, during which Sigel also insinuates that he has information that could affect Jay-Z’s relationship with Beyonce,
the “Broad Street Bully” addresses listeners directly, explaining why he decided to release the track. He says all that, then follows it up by saying their problems can be resolved. You threaten a nicca’s marriage and then says y’all can work it out? Dude, you just Jaz-O’ed yourself. Whatever communication you could of had, ya just killed it homeboy! He ends the session with this:
“And don’t get it f***ed up: this ain’t the green light for everybody to start making diss Jay-Z record. I still got love for the n***a. This just me taking my brother out in the yard for 5 minutes,” he said in closing before screaming out “Roc-A-Fella for life.” source

Controversial CNN commentator Lou Dobbs said a shot was fired at his wife outside their New Jersey home and he said it’s because of his critics. “They’ve created an atmosphere and they’ve been unrelenting in their propaganda,” Dobbs said on his radio show. Dobbs said he’s been receiving threatening phone calls for weeks and connected the gunshot to his advocacy for a crackdown on illegal immigration.

His wife and driver were outside the Wantage home Oct. 5 when they heard the gunshot, said State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones.

The bullet didn’t penetrate the siding and fell to the ground outside, he said.

“I now – it’s become part of a way of life – the anger, the hate, the vitriol, but it’s taken a different tone where they’ve threatened my wife,” Dobbs said on the radio show earlier this week.

“They’ve now fired a shot at my house while my wife was standing next to the car. It’s become something else.”

Tameka Foster found out about her divorce from Usher Raymond online just like everybody else. She lived with him, married him and is the mother of his two children but she found out by her friends calling her up asking “are you ok.”

“It was rumored (on the internet), so friends and family called, saying, ‘Are you OK?’ I didn’t really understand why,” Foster told People magazine. “But Usher and I weren’t really speaking then. He was away recording, and I was angry at other things going on. He filed two days later.”

The 38-year-old stylist has an issue with Usher’s new divorce-themed single “Papers,” which appears to focus on their short marriage.

“It’s entertainment. People shouldn’t take it literally,” she said. “(But) given what we’re going through, it’s in poor taste.”

Foster’s interview comes just days after she was forced to deny Usher’s claims the pair’s divorce had been finalized, dismissing them as “a publicity stunt” to promote his new song. But despite all of Ursh’s alleged cheating, “I still love him very much and I’m sure I always will,” Foster insists. “Do I want to be with him? I don’t know.”

And although she won’t discuss what her manager refers to as the “LisaRaye situation,” she did touch on her relationship choices. “With men in my life, I’ve always made good choices. “I spent time doing radio so anybody that came on that [106th & Park] couch, I had already interviewed. I had weight to my name already. So Queen Latifah, Ludacris, Lil’ Wayne, Baby, all these people respected me. They know me; they know I’m a hardworker. I just went out last night, and I had a genuine good time. I hardly ever really go out,” Rocsi says. “And the next day its ‘Rocsi’s dating … popping bottles with Trey Songz … tryna get with …’ I was like ‘What?! No, I wasn’t even sitting at his table!’” If I take a picture with somebody, I make it a point not even to put my arm around them. And it’s so hard because people just want to pick on you. I’m like ‘Dude, you don’t sleep with everyone you take a picture with.’ Like, come on. I think it’s getting to an ignorant stage.”

“I got where I’m at because of my work,” Rocsi insists. “I never had to lay on my back to get where I was. I come from a Latino background where family and the way we were brought up was very important. That’s how we conducted ourselves as ladies. And that’s a very important thing to my family, so yeah, when these blogs come out and they start talking shit — you’re messing with what my parents instilled in me. And I know it isn’t true. But I’m glad I have great family members who know that I wasn’t brought up that way, to not be blinded by this industry.”

Lady Gaga has a new nickname after collaborating with Beyoncé. The zany dresser channeled the sexy and sleek style of the R&B pop princess — so well, she was nicknamed “Gee-yoncé” during the making of the video. Paparazzi photos from the “Video Phone” shoot show Gaga in an outfit that looks in line with Beyoncé’s sleeker style — a white strapless leotard, matching opera gloves and long, flowing hair. “When I was doing her video with her, she called me, and she said, ‘What do you want to do?’” Gaga revealed in an interview with New York’s Z100 radio station on Tuesday morning. “And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video.’ I said, ‘I want to do you.’” In the same interview, Gaga said she just wanted to “do my version of Beyoncé, so the whole time I was learning the choreography they were calling me Gee-yoncé.” “Video Phone” is Beyoncé’s next single from the album “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” Gaga also mentioned that she and Beyoncé are working on music together, but did not elaborate on the details. source
