in the past month i enjoyed a brief respite at a burlesque festival followed up by a night of rockabilly fun watching the royal crowns heat up the stage… so needless to say i’ve been itching to put pen to paper and let my imagination dance. well this lil’ lady flowed out like honey.

i tend to be more cut and dry with my colouring – basic two tones usually make me happy, but i wanted to try a little something different here. so a bit more laying of colour and a lot of line holds… i might continue the experiment on future pieces to give the ladies a softer look

i was traveling not too long ago and a girl familiar with my work and my website asked me “so what exactly is your kind of girl ramon?”… i didn’t really have an answer for her then. but i watched a movie recently – pushover (1952) starring richard quine and fred macmurray as an aging cop who falls in love with a bank robber’s girlfriend played by a young kim novak. the young cop, quine, asks the older macmurray in regards to women and settling down “what keeps you single?” , macmurray replies “maybe i like ‘em too much.” – i think i concur.

a quick sketch i did during the chicago comic & entertainment expo…. wish i could post more right now. but. too. damn. busy…

sometimes the sexiest moments for me are watching a girl lounge in a chair, or curl up on a couch, or stretched out on the bed in the morning sunlight. when they don’t know they’re being watch and they’re not posing, they’re just comfortable. at these points you can trace those sexy curves like no other time. so natural and so nice.

i haven’t had time to colour this piece up yet as i want to give it a bit of special love. so tune in again to see this delicious beauty with a dash of colour…

so, with easter this weekend one would think an appropriate pin-up would have been of a playboy bunny or something as such. well, to be honest i plum forgot it was easter, and not to mention friday. there’ve been some busy days of late. so from my reservoir of fine ladies i’d like to share with you this purrrfect lady. pun totally intended – feel free to groan ;P

this little gem is courtesy of fellow TX’er cameron stewart. we had a bit of a call to arms to render a military girl to cap of the difficult work week. i’ve posted the other submissions below by brian mclachlan and eric kim respectively, but mr. stewart gets the showcase spot due to added sexiness – it is a pinup girl blog after all.

going for a little bit of a classic look with this dame. this girl friday was inspired by a friend’s headshot on facebook which i took and extrapolated upon. tried to find the original photo (to share the comparison) to no avail… so you’ll just have to be content with my doodle.

next week we’ll share a few girls of a patriotic them rendered by some of the TX artists…

every so often i like to abandon colour and go back to my B&W roots. i should really do it more often as i have far too much fun when i do it.

with this post we see She’s My Kind Of Girl become part of TX Comics as part of an expanding weekly feature. we are going to start of slow with a new girl a week, but given time i hope to see a new lovely lady posted here on a daily basis! as well, if there is a girl that catch your fancy we are now offering a print on demand feature. each print will be 9″x13″ and printed in archival inks on acid-free archival watercolour paper suitable for framing.

End the year off right, with a little beach cutie to brighten up  the winter.
