Une succession d’initiatives auxquelles j’ai peut-être pensé à un moment ou à un autre mais qui ne sont jamais, en ce qui me concerne, arrivées en phase de réalisation. Le dernier en date est un bon exemple, le passage au CPL (”Courant porteurs en ligne”). J’ai le Wifi à la maison, et je ne l’ai pas installé sans me poser la question des conséquences de toutes ces ondes dans l’appartement (bon en même temps on habite à côté d’une voie de chemin de fer, “à côté” genre, le train passe dans la cuisine) pourtant je n’ai jamais cherché une alternative, la Famille 21 l’a fait et a testé pour vous, et avec succès, le CPL.

Technoark used 2D barcode… while it was not, to my knowledge, really implemented (I think the barcode on the badge was just there for “access control”), it is quite easy to push further and think that the by scanning the barcode with my mobile phone I could access an online mobile profile of the person I am talking with and save it for later use.

Lift09 used Poken, a tiny USB device that includes a NFC. When approaching your token to someone else Poken, it blinks and exchange information about your social networks. Back at home you can plug the Poken to your computer that will open a web page on doyoupoken.com and display all the business cards you have exchanged, and you will then be able to access your contact’s facebook or twitter account (assuming they have entered those information on doyoupoken.com).

Because it requires yet another device to carry on, I do not believe that much in Poken (why not the mobile phone ?)

Both technologies are interesting, but I also exchanged business cards :-) I guess it takes time to change habits…

(remarquez qu’on le doit peut-être justement à M$, ce qui invaliderait le premier point!)

Among all things said and heard there is one “outcome” that really make me thinking… “the web is dead, long life to the internet”!

• Rule1: Twitter tu n’utiliseras pas pour éructer ou exprimer une frustration passagère
• Rule2: Tu ne mettras pas de lien sans un minimum de contexte
• Rule3: Tu n’ajouteras pas bêtement ta voix à une clameur collective
• Rule4: Tu ne poseras pas une question sans avoir fait un minimum de recherche toi même

Toutes ont du sens, même si je trouve la première un peu sèvère parce que Twitter est à mon avis quand même un peu là pour exprimer ses frustrations… mais la quatrième fait vraiment mouche! Ma claque de ces gens qui posent des questions à tout va, mettent à contribution leur “communauté” sans avoir même chercher un tout petit peu… y’en a qui confondent vraiment “Web 2.0″ et “Web des fainéants”!

So ?

1. Google is also affected by the economic situation. Even “monster” like Google has to refocus when economic downturn… (note that they also laid off 100 recruiters)
2. If you were using one of those services you better prepare to move to another one, and hopefully you can export your datas in a nice and re-usable way. Remeber Richard Stallman warned us about Cloud Computing, this is a perfect example… a service is discontinue and you are stuck! In this case it happens with a notice beforehand but what if the service is shut down directly ?

Very much geeky to have one of these at home but I wanted to try it on. Some interesting online features around Flickr for instances (thanks to M. I am now a Flickr Pro user :-) which generates new ideas… kinda cool!!
