Rock formations(or small islands?) mid sea surrounding phuket. There are almost 41 major uninhabited islands and lots of other smaller ones. You can canoe through the rock formations to explore totally virgin lagoons. Simply nature at its best!!!

Am glad to announce the first milestone or the 50th post(snap) of this blog!!! It always amazes you when get to see one of most beautiful sunset you've ever seen just where you least expect it.

Reflecting on the statistics of how the blog or the snaps in it were received, visitors have liked Evening Drive, Rang De Basanti and Valley on the basis of comments, and Snowstorm, Rain and Mt.Fuji in terms of hits(though search engines plays a major role here).

The Ride - Pal Pal Theme Park, Hamamatsu, Japan

Continuing from yesterdays series, the above snap was taken on a theme park "Pal Pal" at Kanzanji, Hamamatsu. The snap is out of camera with just added sharpening. With my G5 these kind of snaps were just not coming out as expected, but 350D/XT is quite a performer in this regard.

Sunset - Kanzanji, Hamamatsu, Japan

Recently made a trip to Kanzanji, a kind of resort area overlooking lake Hamana in Hamamatsu. The snap featured above is sunset as viewed from an observatory.

And after browsing scores of camera blogs and site's finally bought a Canon Rebel XT. The shot above is using the default lens that comes with the kit. Am looking to buy additional lens, please put in your suggestion if any in the comments.

Back after a small break, my bread winning job demanded more attention...;-). I dont have any new snap to put up, which explains this one from the archives. One thing I felt striking about this snap is the scattered vibrant colors that takes the attention away rather than a particular subject.

Goten Yatai (Palace-like Floats)
During the nights of Hamamatsu Festival, people parade downtown carrying over 70 yatai, or palace-lake floats, that are beautifully decorated while playing Japanese traditional festival music. The festival reaches its peak when groups of people compete by violently marching across town.

Valley, Mountains

I had written about mountains in japan here. The above snap shows a valley engulfed between a series of mountains. I had mixed feelings about this snap. The original color version had not come well due to the fog. But in b/w kind of liked the series of mountains and the fog over it.

This is one of the very first snaps that i took after buying my G5. I kind of like the way the rain drops are focussed, though my intention at that time must have been to shoot the zebra...;-). This was taken at the Fuji Safari park, Shizuoka, Japan.

The above snap is from an flower park featuring flowers like the above hanging upside down. The background of the above snap too is filled with similar flowers, and that explains the overall purple(?) color. And a part of the plant is out of the shadow, it would've been nice if the whole thing was darker...

Japanese dolls

The above snap was taken while on a trip to Kyoto. The dolls looked fascinating in their kimono's. Am yet to get a good snap of a real person in a kimono, guess i'll have to wait for some festivals or go to Kyoto again for that one...

Amanohashidate, Snowstorm

Back after a weeklong vacation to Amanohashidate(meaning "bridge in the heaven"), featured as one of Japan's three most scenic views(nihon sankei). It actually is a pine tree covered sand bar, spanning across Miyazu Bay on the Tango Peninsula, Kyoto. It's best viewed in summer with clear skies, but the snow covered sandbar in the winter too is quite a sight. For the brief time we were at the observatory, we had clear skies, fogs that turns off visibility totally, and a small snow storm. Featured in the snap above is the snow storm heading our way..;-)

Above snap is a coloured version of a previous one posted here. Which version do you like more...? And for Mt.Fuji appearing frequently in one way or the other...can't help it, am obsessed with it..;-)
