It actually is a pine tree covered sand bar, spanning across Miyazu Bay on the Tango Peninsula, Kyoto. It&#39;s best viewed in summer with clear skies, but the snow covered sandbar in the winter too is quite a sight. For the brief time we were at the observatory, we had clear skies, fogs that turns off visibility totally, and a small snow storm.
