212 Democrats In 2007 Voted To Kill Every Last Light Bulb Job

Why is it this is the result of all of Democrat's plans?

Back in 2007, 212 Democrats voted in favor of a proposition to eliminate all ordinary incadescent light bulbs by 2012. That final end date is but 15 months away. That timeline has caused, what everyone else who wasn't a Democrat or closed-minded eco-nut knew would, the last US company that made light bulbs to close.

From Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit come this bit of Pro-Obama news:

The last major GE factory making ordinary incandescent light bulbs in the United States is closing this month, marking a small, sad exit for a product and company that can trace their roots to Thomas Alva Edison’s innovations in the 1870s.

The remaining 200 workers at the plant here will lose their jobs.

“Now what’re we going to do?” said Toby Savolainen, 49, who like many others worked for decades at the factory, making bulbs now deemed wasteful.

Oh, but you say, why don't they just make the new CFL that the Congress had DEMANDED that we all must use now?

Rather than setting off a boom in the U.S. manufacture of replacement lights, the leading replacement lights are compact fluorescents, or CFLs, which are made almost entirely overseas, mostly in China.

Thank you Democrats. This is the thinking that all Democrats have. Force a change in behavior and the people will accept it happily, no matter if it kills the economy.

Green May Not Be All That Green After All

Is Green Technology all just a matter of smoke?

As we love to do around there, poking fun at the media and tearing apart their work as a news reporting mechanism, one of the worst places they seem to fail over and over is in the realm of "Green".

Case in point is with the new yet to be released Chevy Volt. When it was first introduced by Chevrolet, it was promoted as the answer to ending the use of petroleum products. It was also promoted by everyone, that this car's GAS engine would get 150-mpg while PERIODICALLY charging the battery. They ranted that this was the first car to get its energy for the drivetrain ENTIRELY from electrical power. They even claimed a 650 mile range.

Yet, reality rarely makes good bedfellows with PR.

The Media on Human Rights

The photo above, taken by Reuters stringer Mohammed Salem, tells me all I need to know about the media's commitment to human rights. Here we have a terrorist group that's openly committed to the destruction of the Jewish race—which is the definition of "genocide" last I checked—and the press blithely and obediently shows up every single time they're asked, ready to take one glamorous photo after another.

And it's not like the other wire services are blameless in this, either. The Associated Press and Agence France-Presse are as eager to please their Hamas overlords as Reuters is.

Three major wire service agencies shriek at the mere thought of some kinds of repression. And yet, all three hesitate not one second before agreeing to flagrantly promote a group that defines it.

Imagine how different the coverage of World War II would have been if it were covered by the "professional" journalists of today.

From Drew's post on Ace of Spades, comes this latest post, "IAEA: Iran's Nuclear Program Moving Along Quite Nicely, Thank You". This post is how Obama has failed the world once again.

Key point from their linked article:

A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iranian nuclear scientists had made at least 22 kilograms of enriched uranium at least 20 per cent purity, a technical hurdle that is the hardest to overcome on the way to weapons-grade uranium.

Experts estimate that 20 kgs of uranium is the minimum required to arm a warhead. The uranium would still need to have its purity raised to 90 per cent, but that is a relatively easy process.

Thank you Obama. Thank you Bush. Your inactions have led us down this suicide path that could lead to Israel's destruction.

And, our president's reliance upon the UN and its wimpy sanctions plan has also fizzled out. That was the primary reason why Pres Bush didn't want to go to the UN for "permission" to go after Iraq. It took over a year to get final go ahead from them. Sort of permission.

Seems China and Turkey (along with Russia) are spitting in our eyes.

Mr. Obama also used Monday’s appearance here to deliver a hearty defense of his policies and take a few whacks at Republicans. “They talk about me like a dog,” the president said. “That’s not in my prepared remarks, but it’s true.” And Mr. Obama repeatedly referred to the House Republican leader, Representative John Boehner, as “the man who wants to be speaker.”

Wow. Did he just say that? That sounds an awful lot like a "muslim" rant, doesn't it?. Care to offer any real proof there Commandant? Or are you just lying again?

You know, some argue and gripe that the moderate muslims are not doing enough to fight against the radicals in their party. We are told that they are either afraid to do so or are doing all that they can.

Yet, we are harassed for our uncomfortableness over the proposed construction of the Ground Zero Mosque. For it, we are called Islamophobic. We hear a few "moderates" proclaim that the mosque is wrong, but they have limited play time on limited stations.

And then, I think some of these "moderates" spend too much time focused on the wrong people or just plunk their head and the sand and demand that it is not true or all lies.

Obama administration sues Arizona for wanting to check the citizenship status of people stopped while it gives green light to Georgia to check the citizenship status of people wanting to register to vote.

Obama administration sues Sheriff Joe, for doing his job, over non-compliance after telling him he is in full compliance.

From the Pirate's Cove we have our third "Thoughts For The Day". The Obama administration arrests and convicts a man for selling guns to a man who had a valid Texas ID. The man turned out to be an illegal. And, I believe a stinger.

Thus, the Feds are employing illegals using LEGAL ID to arrest legal citizens.

The man arrested said it best:

“I guess you need ask them for their documentation too; if the police aren’t going to profile why should the common citizen have to”...

His sentence?

Austin’s Federal Judge Sam Sparks sentenced Copeland to spend the next 6-months at a federal work camp followed by 2-years of probation.

If the Feds and police are not going to ask for citizenship status, then why should the common citizen!! As Teach puts it so eloquently:

The illegal had valid ID, yet, Copeland was the one arrested and sentenced. If Copeland had asked for more, he would have been in violation of federal “supremacy” laws, ya know. Perhaps the ATF could have arrested the illegals?

Why is it illegal to sell firearms to illegals? The federal government makes it legal to give or sell thousands of other goods and services to them. They have forced us to rent homes. They have forced us to give loans, give welfare including food stamps, give education, give college education, and to give social security. The list goes on and on.

But heaven forbid an average american citizen doing his daily duty and sees a valid ID is arrested for selling to an illegal stinger.

Had enough hypocrisy America? Had enough of this government harassing legal citizens to protect illegals?

With recent economic news coming out that unemployment is still in the crapper, with the feel-good unemployment index rising to 9.6% (the real unemployment index is 16.7%), that his party's candidates are losing left and right, this president defies all compassion and decides its time for another grand vacation.

Yeah, I know it is just to the "president's retreat" Camp David. But, after already taking 6 vacations this year alone, wouldn't you think that the image of him taking another vacation sends a bad message? Especially when bad economic news JUST came out that same day?

Not this Socialist president. To him, he deserves everything he is entitled to.

It would seem, that the anti-Christian crowd is growing and growing the world over. Makes you warm and fuzzy all over doesn't it!?!?

"If it'd said 'Allah Akbar', the council wouldn't have dared to try and remove it," says Marianne Bons, a member of the Dutch Reformed Protestant Church. She's talking about a farm roof on which 'Jesus saves' is painted in enormous letters. The council says the text has to go. The farm's owner, evangelical Christian Joop van Ooijen, is refusing to obey. The affair has united Christians of all persuasions behind the message.

"You're allowed to believe in anything in this country, as long as it's nothing to do with Christians or the Church," says Ms Bos, describing the prevailing Dutch attitude to religion.

Mr Van Ooijen and Ms Bons both live in Alblasserwaard, an area near Rotterdam, in the heart of the Dutch bible belt. The position adopted by Giessenlanden Council has met with disbelief in this predominantly Christian region.

The council argues that it's pollution of the landscape. Giessenlanden Councillor Berend Buddingh explains that white letters on a red roof is too big a colour contrast. Mr Van Ooijen counters that it is "too big a contrast with the councillor's own beliefs".

Mr Van Ooijen has held out for two years, refusing to remove the message from his roof. Giessenlanden local council is fining him 500 euros a week, but he refuses to pay. He has been fighting the council decision for two years and says he's willing to go to the European Court if necessary.

Combine that with the attempted ban of "God Bless America" on a garage door, and you got the makings of something. Don't forget the prevention of the rebuilding of the St. Nicholas Church near Ground Zero in New York.

Obama Bans Guns From Korea This Year They Allowed Last Year

Coming to you from The Volokh Conspiracy via Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit comes this little gem. Can you smell the logic? (snifffff) Mmmmmm Tasty.

A couple weeks ago, I blogged about an article in the Korea Times reporting that the Obama administration was blocking the import of American-made M1 Garands and M1 Carbines which the South Korean government wished to sell into the U.S. market. The Korea Times reported that an unnamed Korean official said that the American government was blocking the imports because of objections to increasing the gun supply in the United States.

Some blog commenters speculated that the Korea Times was wrong, and that the real objection must have been that since the rifles were probably gifts from the United States government, the terms of the gift required that the rifles be given back to the U.S. Army once the Koreans did not want them any more.

Today, Maxim Lott’s reporting for FoxNews confirms that the Korea Times accurately characterized the American government objections:

    The Obama administration approved the sale of the American-made rifles last year. But it reversed course and banned the sale in March – a decision that went largely unnoticed at the time but that is now sparking opposition from gun rights advocates.

    A State Department spokesman said the administration’s decision was based on concerns that the guns could fall into the wrong hands.

    “The transfer of such a large number of weapons — 87,310 M1 Garands and 770,160 M1 Carbines — could potentially be exploited by individuals seeking firearms for illicit purposes,” the spokesman told FoxNews.com.

Yes, because those pesky gangs and drug-lords always like to use those M1 Garands. Actually, I would like to know who is buying these kinds of weapons at such a rate year after year. But, I doubt it is American gangs. More than likely, it is American gun traders selling them to Mexican and Central\South American drug cartels.

These are vintage weapons. They were made in America and given to our soldiers and sold abroad during and after the Vietnam and Korean wars. Korea wants to get rid of them and ship them back to us. People here want to buy them.

Spider Karma

LOL! Spider karma! (Emphasis mine)

WHEN his wife screamed there was a spider in the house, Chris Welding sprang to her defence, nearly killing himself in the process.

The IT engineer chased the spider into their bathroom in Clacton, Essex, England.

Wielding a flammable aerosol can, he sprayed the spider as it cowered behind the toilet pan and then lit a cigarette lighter to see if he had killed it.

However, the flame ignited the gas and caused a massive explosion blow Mr Welding off his feet and into the hall, causing severe burns, and lifting the loft door off its hinges.

He suffered flash burns to his head, legs and torso and was rushed by ambulance to hospital after dousing himself in cold water.

A fire brigade spokesman said firemen found no evidence of the spider, dead or alive.

Fun With Umbrellas

Well, since it has gone pretty much viral on my favorite blogs, I thought I would post it up here. It would seem Pres "Where's my ding-bell?" Obama just loves him some umbrellas.

He does seem to have problems with them.

And refuses to share them, but he's got a thing going and doesn't want to break it. So, let's see what fun WE can have with the top pic.

To me, this just seems like the true character of the Obamas. And the look on Mich's face is priceless.

If he can't figure out how to get an umbrellas through a gate, then how in the HELL can he expect to get our economy through his term? He created the catastrophe we are in, and now he refuses to even see that the umbrellas is stuck in the gate's opening.

He tries to take the umbrella OVER the gate, but he can't figure out what to do with his hands. If he let's go,the umbrella won't be covering him any more. He can tell his wife to help out, but then that just proves how much of a SISSy as well as INCOMPETENT he is.

This man just doesn't have the mental faculties to operate an umbrella and yet he became president of the US?!?!?

Here's a start. DMartyr, take that latest photo you did with Obama and the TOPOS, and then add the umbrella being held in his left hand. ROFL.

Okay, so I haven't exactly been around for the past week—And I've gotta say, if there were any way that I could relocate the trusty old bunker to the Outer Banks, I'd totally do it after a week like that!

(My deepest thanks to DMartyr and captainfish for keeping things as lively as ever around here, as they always do! This place would probably be forty times as boring if it weren't for their kind assistance during the frequent times I get distracted by shiny objects...)

I'm still trying to get caught up over here, so it'll be a bit before I'm back in the flow of things. In addition to our little escape, I'm also starting with a fantastic new company this week, so there's going to be quite a bit going on over here in Snapped Shot central that is certain to distract me. (Shiny!!)

If you're up to it, I'd love to hear what's been going on while I've been away!

I've been told that we missed an excellent showing by Glenn Beck in Washington this past Saturday. I'm also sure Kashmir is still rocking the Ramadan celebrations, even without looking at the photo feed to cover it. And I'm also betting that I missed an excellent showing or two by our favorite Iranian rage worshipper in my absence. All of which I hope to catch up on in the next day or so.

We have already heard from one preacher of hate earlier. Now, that they held their "Let's hate the message while we preach the need for r-e-s-p-e-c-t" rally, let us see if they have actually listened to the message from Martin Luther King, Jr?

This weekend saw Glenn Beck and the Special Operation Warrior Foundation's "8/28" event that sought to "restore honor" to America. One of the missions was also to turn America back to GOD and to reestablish the Black-robed Regiment to help spread GOD's word of freedom, equality, liberty, honor, truth, charity, and character.

Al-Islam.org has a downloadable PDF called "Diseases of the Soul". It lists vices that harm the soul and that Muslims should avoid. I'm not going to link it, but if you want to read it, just visit the library section at al-islam.org.

Backbiting

All of these things are fairly self-explanatory, except "backbiting" (also known as "talebearing"). It means gossip or slander. But in Islam, it also includes saying anything negative about the religion, whether it's truthful or not. Anything that harms Islam is considered "backbiting".
