twenty120 is 20 short films - each 120 seconds long - made by directors from all around this great big world of ours. the theme of the collection is truth v. deception, a conflict we allllll know a thing or two about. our superpal connor helped put this project together, but even if we didn't know him, we'd still think it was pretty awesome.

the first public screening of twenty120 is happening on thursday (july 17, 2008) in hollywood at cinespace. it's free and there's complimentary beer and wine, and you should go. space is limited and your rsvp is required, so check out the twenty120 site for info (and a cool trailer) and get your répondez on.

great page with easy instructions to download youtube videos.

the gist: bookmark a script on your firefox toolbar, then click it whenever you're on a YT video page that you want to save. the script creates a hyperlink on the actual page that you right click to save to your computer. voila!

when it comes to tone, nothing beats the warm rich sound of a nice vacuum tube. tube amps can be expensive though - so why not build your own?

this great instructable has all the steps and materials you need do do just that, plus a couple videos of the designer showing off how good his completed amp sounds.

this pedal concept seems pretty cool.

The OpenStompTM Coyote-1 is an open source audio effects processor built for guitar players. With the Coyote-1 users can develop custom audio effects in software (like distortion, echo, chorus etc.), mix multiple effects to build "patches", and exchange those effects and patches with the OpenStompTM community.

i was introduced to the weird world of jan terri last night. an early 90s pop singer based in illinois, her homemade videos had the fuzzy look of local car dealership commercials from the early 80s. somehow, it is so hard to not continue watching, waiting for some indication that jan is in on the joke.

check out some of her masterpieces:

lose you tonight (surprisingly catchy, and an eerily familiar vocal production on the recording. my fave)

sneaky sneakmover mike senese makes his tv debut tonight on the rock and roll acid test, a new show that mixes mythbusters and good old fashioned rock 'n roll, with four hosts who set out to demonstrate rock in physical terms.

mike is the scientist of the team, and you'll get to see him assemble and explain the technical aspects of the projects and builds the team undertakes. from hovercraft to theremin to exploding manequins, there's something for everyone.
