Yoona Makes a Brief Appearance on ‘Strong Heart’

On November 6th, Girls’ Generation’s Yoona made a brief appearance on SBS’s “Strong Heart” as part of a farewell episode for Super Junior’s Leeteuk, a regular cast member of “Strong Heart” who recently left the show and concluded his other activities to enlist in the South Korean army.

During the episode, Yoona revealed that one year ago, Leeteuk had said he was going to enlist in the army. However, whenever she would ask, “When are you going to the army?”, he always answered, “I’m going to go soon.”

Yoona also explained Leeteuk invited her and other artists under SM Entertainment to an MT (editor’s note: membership training, a chance for co-workers or schoolmates to bond through various activities). However, rather than lead the event, Leeteuk instead stayed inside a room to watch TV and play on his cell phone.

Leeteuk explained that he had planned on giving quizzes and prepared prizes, but that Shim Jaewon played music at the MT for three hours. He said, “Everyone was having so much fun that they were just dancing, so I didn’t think there was anywhere for me to fit in.”

MC Shin Dongyup later asked Yoona if she planned to visit Leeteuk when he enlists. She answered, “If my schedule permits.”

Yoona continued, “While he is Super Junior’s leader, I feel that he also played a role as SM artists’ leader really well, and if he’s not in that position anymore, I wonder who is going to create good atmospheres like him.”

Finally, Yoona gave Leeteuk a signed copy of Girls’ Generation’s “MR. TAXI” album, saying, “If it would become of any help, this is to give him strength, with little messages. It’s a gift that’s not really like a gift.”

‘Invincible Youth 2′ to Record Its Last Episode on November 7th

The last recording of KBS 2TV’s “Invincible Youth 2″ will take place on November 7th and will air sometime in mid-November. Sunny and Hyoyeon were confirmed as part of the cast for the show on October 18th of last year, and its first episode was aired on November 12th, 2011.

Sunny, who was also a part of the original G7 during the first season, left “Invincible Youth 2″ in July 2012 when the program became stable. Sunny was also busy with Girls’ Generation’s activities in Japan and with her musical, “Catch Me If You Can”. However, Hyoyeon remained as part of the cast and continued to entertain everyone with her light-hearted spirit.

“Invincible Youth 2″ will be ending due to the G5 members’ overlapping activities with the show’s recordings. The members were sad when they got word of the last recording day.

Taeyeon, Sooyoung, and Seohyun Appear on ‘Superstar K4′

On November 2nd, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Sooyoung, and Seohyun were featured on a episode of “Superstar K4″, the fourth season of a reality TV talent show series. The contestants on the show had been assigned a live stage performance entitled “My Style”, and Taeyeon, Sooyoung, and Seohyun appeared to deliver a related mission, giving them one hour to prepare and sing “Gee” in their own style.

Several teams, each with two groups of contestants, performed their versions of “Gee” in front of the three members of Girls’ Generation, who determined the winners based on who best showed their own unique skills. Taeyeon, Sooyoung, and Seohyun selected the team made up of contestants Roy Kim and Dickpunks as the winner. As Roy Kim and Dickpunks celebrated, Sooyoung commented that they seemed almost as happy as if they had won first place on a live stage.

Taeyeon then gave the winners an envelope, which told the location of a senior artist who would advise them for this week’s live stage “My Style” performance. Finally, all of the contestants shook hands with the three members of Girls’ Generation at the end of the segment.

On November 1st, Yuri and Sooyoung attended the “Burberry Pacific Flagship Store Opening Event” in Hong Kong. Both members left from Incheon International Airport in the early afternoon, after Yoona returned from the “Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Fashion Show" in Hong Kong. When Yuri and Sooyoung arrived at Hong Kong International Airport, they were immediately greeted by a crowd of fans already waiting there to give the members a warm welcome. Fans were also present at the store opening to show their support for the girls. Music news portal Popdust is holding a tournament to determine the greatest K-Pop song of all time, and Girls’ Generation is being represented by their genre-defining classic, “Gee”.

Held as part of Popdust’s special “K-Pop Week“, “K-Pop Madness” sets 32 songs against each other in four different brackets, Girl Groups, Female Solo, Boy Bands, and Male Solo, until the finals where the winner of the female brackets will face the winner of the male brackets to determine the greatest K-Pop song of all time.

Earlier this year, Girls’ Generation made their presence known as a force to be reckoned with on Popdust. Sankei Sports has revealed a picture from Girls’ Generation’s upcoming second Japanese album, titled “Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~”, which will be released on November 28th. The girls show off a retro flight attendant look with mini skirts that emphasize their beautiful slender legs.

SM Entertainment has just revealed the teaser for “MAXSTEP” through its official YouTube channel. “MAXSTEP” is the second song featuring a member of Girls’ Generation from the “PYL Younique Album”, a collaboration between SM Entertainment and Hyundai. The first, “My Lifestyle”, featured Jessica and was released on October 18th. Jessica also performed “My Lifestyle” at the “PYL Younique Show”.

“MAXSTEP” will feature Hyoyeon, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, SHINee’s Taemin, Super Junior-M’s Henry, and EXO’s Kai and Luhan. The song will serve as the theme song for the Hyundai Velostar.

Soshified Fan Fiction Contest 2012

Soshified is holding its first ever fan fiction contest to celebrate the success of the fan fiction forum. The contest offers several great prizes, including Jessica’s model of Casio’s Baby-G watch, a regular edition of "Girls' Generation Complete Video Collection" with a poster, an "SMTOWN Live World Tour 2012″ brochure, and regular editions of the second Japanese album, which will be released on November 28th.

Entries will be accepted until November 7th at 11:59 PM KST (10:59 AM EST). The top ten entries as decided by judges will be posted on November 23rd for public voting. Final results (along with the rest of the entries) will be announced on December 1st. Soshified Spotlight October 2012 Part 1: Sh1kamaru

Welcome to the October 2012 edition of Soshified Spotlight.

Just like every other month, we’re once again highlighting a regular member in Part 1, and a Soshified staff member in Part 2.

This month, we’re featuring Sh1kamaru in Part 1 and Holly in Part 2. Sh1kamaru, or Dave, will continue our recent run of European SONEs being featured. A native of Latvia, Dave is one of few people in his country who know about Girls’ Generation and K-Pop. He is another common example of a rock/metal fan who somehow found Girls’ Generation and incorporated them into his repertoire. Dave is most passionate about sports, playing a plethora of them at one time or another. In addition, Dave has many other interests, including Asia, drawing, and dancing, making him a patented renaissance man.

What is your first name?

My real name is Dāvis, but I go with Dave on the Internet. Nice to meet you!

How did you find out about Soshified and why did you decide to join?

I saw the word ''soshified'' on youtube. I was watching my very first Girls' Generation/Kpop MV – Oh!, on February 18th, 2012. I scrolled down to the comments, and there was it. I looked up the word few weeks later and I joined Soshified on March 4th, 2012.

How did you come up with your screen name?

Shikamaru is my all time favorite anime character. I took his name, but changed ''i'' with ''1''. Pretty simple.

Where are you originally from, and where do you currently reside (city and country for both)?

I am from a small country called Latvia. Yes Latvia, not Latveria. It is located in Northern Europe. On weekdays I live in our capital city – Riga, but during the weekend, I am in my hometown.

If we were visiting you where you live for one day, where would you take us? Why are these places so significant?

Rather than visiting our country's beautiful cities, with their remarkable architecture and history, I would love to take you on a field trip. So pack a pair of rubber boots! I am a nature's kid. We would visit caves, rivers, lakes, forts, castles etc. It would be a huge and fun adventure for people who rarely have a chance to visit the countryside.

Tell us a little about your life. What do you do full time and in your free time?

I am a full time student. A geography student. I have always been interested in geography and science. Wondering a lot and making the ideas alive. I find the studies entertaining and people who study there are extra-ordinary and friendly. I love it!
My free time? Hmm. I can say that I have dedicated my whole life to sports. I started to play them at young age. Been an active sports-freak for about 14 years. I am interested almost in any sport. Then I am a huge metalhead. I listen to rock/metal a lot and I have a strong passion for Japan and Asia in general. I am interested in everything – music, culture, languages, lifestyle etc. Also, I enjoy drawing, dancing, learning languages and being mysterious…

How did you get so interested in geography and science?

When i was a kid, i had an atlas with me all the time. I spent a lot of time learning countries/capitals, economical stuff… I did not understand most of it, but it sure was fun. Science is a big combination of geography, biology, chemistry, physics etc. Somehow all these forms of science came to me naturally.

Where did your interest in Japan come from?

I like learning different cultures and I find Asia the most beautiful. I must admit, that Japanese is the biggest reason why I love Land of the Rising Sun. It is a huge challenge to master the language.

What do you think makes you have an interest in so many things?

I find it difficult to concentrate on one thing. I feel empty without many. I am a multi-tasker. At school, i struggle to finish my works in time, because i’m distracted by other stuff. I guess, i have too much energy and passion in me, hehe.

What's the most interesting thing about you and/or that has ever happened to you?

The most interesting thing, is how I, a guy who used to hate everything pop-ish, could fall in love with Kpop. I have no answer for that. It's like I know that I'm hypnotized, but I don't resist. The spell is charming.

For people who are first meeting you (like most of us), how would you describe yourself?

I am fit, 180cm (5'11'') and 72kg (~159 lbs). I am a very calm and timid person. I usually don't run around and I find it difficult to start a conversation with strangers. But, once I drop the awkwardness, I can be super friendly and funny. So, don't get the wrong idea, that I don't like you, when we meet for the first time. I lack some skills, that's all :3

Tell us some things that most people don't know about you that you think they should.

I mentioned that I'm timid, but you can't see that side of me when I do sports. I have my game face on every time I'm on the court, pitch etc. You cannot crush my fierceness. It's all about passion.

Is there anything big in your life that you're working on? (This can be related to school, career, hobbies, family, friends, etc.)

I have few goals that I want to achieve. The first one, for now, is to get the bachelors degree in Geography. The second is to make lots of friends and happy moments. I really need them. What else? To be a good person. Yes, probably the most important goal, I want to achieve. A person, who can be proud of himself.

What are your interests outside of Girls' Generation?

As I said, sports are precious to me. Now, I play basketball, I am a member of my faculty's team and a member of my city's team. Also, I have my obligations in the city's sports committee. Then, there is rock/metal music – 80's, 90's, 21st century's rock music – you name it! A fan for about 10 years. And of course Kpop. I am living in it now. I read news, listen to various artists, dig deeper in the groups. I have to learn a lot, because I'm a late bloomer.

What do you do on your city’s sports committee?

I am more related to sports development, because i’m still young and I know what kids might like and need here, so i have to face questions like – ”How to motivate children to be healthy/active?”, ”How to motivate them to play sports?”, ”What can we do/build/set up to satisfy the citizens?” etc. And, since i play basketball, i help to organize practises, tournaments etc.

I understand you had an opportunity to play soccer/football at a higher level. What level did you have a chance to attain, and why did you pass it up?

Who knows. Latvian soccer league, maybe. I understand, it’s nothing that big, but still. Why did I leave? It happened 5 years ago and I will never forget that day – I was playing soccer with my friends when i injured my ankle pretty bad. The recovery was long and when i could return playing, i had a hard time. My motivation was low and my foot hurt from running. So i had several conversations with the coach and at the end we both agreed that i have no chances to climb higher. Now i play basketball in few amateur leagues and i feel good.

How did you first become a fan of Girls' Generation?

My first MV was Oh!. I saw it on February 18th, 2012. So, it was not a long time ago. One day, I watched some J-rock videos and somehow I ended up of watching Girls' Generation – Oh! I don't know why I did that. I have never liked pop music, but that day changed my life. I am a proud SONE since March 4th, 2012.

Who is your favorite member and why?

My favorite member is Stephanie. Why? She is beautiful, talented and hardworking. Like me…well we only have the ''hardworking'' quality in common. She is real. I love her.

What is your favorite Girls' Generation song and MV and why?

I love the dark image of ''Run Devil Run'', so it is my favorite concept. But, my dearest song is ''Time Machine''. The lyrics are meaningful and the MV is the best!

What is your favorite Girls' Generation moment and why?

I enjoy every single performance, variety show appearance, CF etc. But my favorite moment is from the ITNW 1st Asia tour when they sang ''Complete''. During that performance, our girls made me shed a tear. I am not that emotional, but it was too much for me…

How has Girls’ Generation impacted your life, in specific areas or even as a whole?

I have met lots of interesting people on Soshified. Kpop is not popular in my country, so I have made Kpop friends online. In real life, I'm much friendlier than I used to be – all grumpy and unsatisfied with my life.

What do you like most about Soshified, and why? Any section in particular you’re attracted to?

Soshified has all! It's like a paradise for every SNSD fan. I appreciate the efforts of every Soshified member. Staff members – you rock! You guys make this fandom the best!
I love the shout box the most. I enjoy to read every crazy shout and open every link. Thumbs up sbox citizens. And of course, the photos section. For drooling, hehe.

Is there anything else about you that you would like to add?

I would like to thank Soshified, for this opportunity to introduce myself. I think this segment is brilliant. Also, my applause to the Staff and the regular members, for making this fandom great.

Seohyun and TVXQ! Featured in November Issue of ‘CeCi’ Magazine

Seohyun and her labelmates Yunho and Changmin of TVXQ! are featured together in the November issue of “CeCi” magazine. Along with a breathtaking photoshoot, Seohyun took part in her own interview to discuss Girls’ Generation’s comeback, daily life, and her maturation.

CeCi: I heard you’ll be making a comeback in Korea soon.

Seohyun: After going to Indonesia next week for ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III’ in Jakarta, we are planning on going between Japanese ‘Oh!’ promotions and preparing for a Korean album. This album is really different from our usual ones. It’s like challenging a person’s limits. I’m looking forward to what the fans will think, and because it’s still a secret amongst us (Translator’s note: Seohyun is referring to the members of Girls’ Generation.), I just feel nervous.

CeCi: I was curious about what busy Girls’ Generation does when they’re not active in Korea? Whew, you’re busy as usual.

Seohyun: Recently, rather than official Girls’ Generation activities, there were a lot more individual ones. There were rarely any days where there was an entire day of no schedules because we have recording or dance practices here and there. Instead, if I have enough free time for about a quarter of the day, I exercise for two to three hours to stay in shape.

CeCi: Do you exercise to stay in shape, rather than trying to watch your figure?

Seohyun: It’s said that, as you get older, the body of a person who does and doesn’t exercise is very different. So you have to start now. Also, when you sweat, you get in a better mood, and it’s a way for your body to react reliably, so you feel good about it.

CeCi: While watching MBC’s ‘We Got Married’, I thought that you were the type who looks forward and into the future. But time is something that shorts out the more you conserve it.

Seohyun: Rather than there not being enough time, more often I think, ‘It’s really gone by quickly’, more often. It’s already been five years since we’ve debuted. I’m currently an MC on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’, and all of a sudden, there have been more junior singers who come to greet us in the waiting room. That is so unfamiliar. When I heard that they were born in 1996, it made me think, ‘Were people being born then too?’ But, when I looked into it, my seniors who asked me for my age told me this. When you calculate it, the year I debuted was when I was 17. (laugh) It’s times like this that makes me jump in front of time.

CeCi: Let’s try filling in the blank. The time passing like this is: ‘[I] honestly [feel] a little scared, a bit sad, don’t feel anything, a bit excited, or whatever you want to write in’.

Seohyun: Number four. As time goes on, I think a lot more fun opportunities are opening up. I don’t have any regrets either. Because even if I were to have made a wrong decision, I have gained or learned something from it.

CeCi: In a 2009 ‘CeCi’ magazine interview, Girls’ Generation’s Yoona also said she was surprised at all the juniors she’s gained. Even though the time’s passed, that unfamiliarity seems like it hasn’t changed. To you then, what’s something that doesn’t change, unlike the passing time?

Seohyun: When comparing to when I first debuted, my values and personality, which I thought would never change, have changed a lot. My friends and members have told me that I have become brighter and more enthusiastic. My sense of challenging things has gotten stronger too. It’s not ‘I need to live following the right path’, but that I need to realize if this is the right path and that I want to experience more different things. Of course, it’s nothing wild. (laugh) And so the thing that doesn’t change is that path, and the things that do are the experiences. Starting social life after being treated cutely as the youngest must have made me react by making me feel sure about things I should and shouldn’t do. Like a test with only O/X answers. I now believe that I must greet life with a more open heart for a truly great life.

CeCi: Was there something that brought this enlightenment?

Seohyun: When I debuted, while my job was a singer, I was still a student. The feeling of having to be devoted as a student was large. When I turned twenty, I started to feel the weight of having to do things on my own. CeCi: For instance? Seohyun: Time utilization. As a student, during math you learn math and follow your schedule repetitively, but now it’s something that depends on my usage. If I sleep, it’s time for sleep, and if I don’t think about it, it just disappears. Instead, if I read a book, I have what I read left. CeCi: You’ve gained a sense of responsibility for time. Seohyun: Yes. At first, I used up my strength severely just trying to handle my schedule, so I couldn’t use my time well, aside from schedules. So, in turn, I would just flow along with how things were going, and I did not exist within that. Later on, I thought, ‘What have I done aside from Girls’ Generation’s activities? Is my body going to fall into the hands [of this work]?’ And so I set detailed life goals, and felt that I should try to expand indirect experiences and knowledge through books. Because each and every one of these days will come together to make my life.

CeCi: Was there any big happening that made you think, ‘I finally took on the challenge because my personality changed!’?

Seohyun: Though I’m a celebrity, I was embarrassed of showing my usual self to many people, but have broken away from that a lot. I’ve learned that going to Lotte World or Kyungbook Palace with my friends is really fun. It’s to the point where I ask foreign fans to take pictures for us. I also enjoy going to exhibitions and museums. It’s something to be thankful for when people recognize me, and when they don’t, even that is funny. I’m going to wear school uniforms with my middle school friends to visit my school.

CeCi: Your life has become colorful. Is there anything you want to change? Should we try looking for those traits from your other members?

Seohyun: First of all, Hyoyeon unnie is optimistic about everything and creates good atmospheres. Sooyoung unnie and Tiffany unnie’s social skills are good, so they have a wide number of acquaintances. They are able to make people feel comfortable. Taeyeon unnie’s natural singing skills. Also, I think it’s a really great thing that she’s a person that can be of support to others. Yoona unnie appears coy, but is natural and her unexpected side shines. Something that the unnies jokingly say is, ‘If someone as pretty as you also had a prim personality, it would have been no fun.’ People say that Jessica unnie looks cold, but she’s the type that acts indifferent upfront and takes care of you unknowingly from behind. Sunny unnie always passes on a bright energy. And she’s also mature. There’s a large age difference in between her and her older sisters, and although she’s the youngest, it’s surprising how deep her thoughts are. It’s to the point where we tease her, saying she’s born in ’79, not ’89. I’m jealous of all of these traits of my unnies.

CeCi: Today’s theme was ‘An Interview with the Vampire’. To them, time is forever. If you look at it one way, that can be a scary thing. I’ll give you three tickets to stop time. It’s a very expensive thing that you can use whenever you want.

Seohyun: I want to stop for a moment at the time of my debut. I want to feel what I did the very first time again, not just from what my mind remembers. So I can reflect on myself and give myself advice. I want to save the remaining two for my future.

CeCi: Lastly, time for TVXQ! and Seohyun’s interview! They said they’re curious as to what ideal type would make your heart flutter. They also gave me a tip that, because you’re probably not going to answer in detail, to ask things in a calm, orderly fashion to dig deep. (Translator’s note: Seohyun’s questions to TVXQ! were ‘When do you really feel or realize you’ve been a singer for 10 years?’ and, ‘Curious as a fan! What do you do on days when you don’t have schedules?’)

Seohyun: Haha, then I’ll give a long answer. First, I would like for them to be very considerate, optimistic, and enthusiastic. A person who’s got manners and is humorous, and one who makes the other person comfortable. Even if it’s not great right now, it’s important for them to have firm beliefs and to work hard toward their dream. Physically, there isn’t much I look for other than them being taller than me. Oh! Kind, clear eyes. I felt that it’s true when people say eyes are the windows to a person’s heart. I think you are able to see the time the person’s lived based off their general impression. SM Entertainment and Hyundai will be showing an unusual marketing technique by releasing their “PYL Younique Album”.

This is the first time an entertainment and automobile company will be collaborating and producing an album together for a release. The topic alone is expected to gain a lot of interest.

This album was specially produced for Hyundai’s "Premium Younique Lifestyle" customers who are overflowing with individuality and who enjoy a unique lifestyle. With SM artists Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and Hyoyeon, BoA, SHINee’s Taemin, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, Super Junior-M’s Henry, and EXO’s Kai and Luhan stepping forth, they are planning on releasing three electronic pop, dubstep tracks successively.

On October 16th, BoA’s theme song, “LOOKIN’”, which is an electronic pop song for the Hyundai i40, will be released through MelOn, Genie, and other music sites. Following suit, Jessica will be releasing “My Lifestyle”, a bright theme song for the Hyundai i30, on the 18th.

Jessica and BoA are scheduled to attend and sing at the “PYL Younique Show” on October 17th. A teaser video for the Veloster’s theme song, “MAXSTEP”, which will feature Hyoyeon, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, SHINee’s Taemin, Super Junior-M’s Henry, and EXO’s Kai and Luhan, will also be revealed at the event. The song and music video will be revealed through various music sites and through SM Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.

Innisfree Reveals New Advertisements and App Featuring Yoona

Innisfree recently tweeted a new advertisement featuring Yoona for one of its moisturizing creams. Anyone who retweeted the ad had a chance to win the cream for free. Innisfree is promoting the product as something to help the skin relax during stressful times.

The company also released an app for fans to download. The program lets SONEs film an ad with Yoona using one of three scenarios; Yoona either plays an audition interviewer, a photographer, or a dancer. A short segment automatically added to the end of the fanmade CF features Innisfree’s “FOREST For Men” product. The app can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store and the Android Market.

Innisfree uploaded some example videos created with the app onto its YouTube channel. To see what SONEs have come up with, check out the clips below.

Hyoyeon Interviewed Along with the Cast of ‘Invincible Youth 2′

Recently, interviewer Jung Seokhee had the opportunity to ask questions to Hyoyeon and the rest of G5, made up of Jewelry’s Yewon, SISTAR’s Bora, Kara’s Jiyoung, and Miss A’s Suzy, along with other members of the cast of “Invincible Youth 2″. During the interview, Hyoyeon and the other cast members spoke about her confidence, her specialty among the G5, and her cooking skills.

Lee Youngja, an actress, comedian, and one on the MCs of the show, discussed Hyoyeon’s role as the mood-maker, saying, “Hyoyeon makes the atmosphere [fun], but she is the type to say what she has to without being afraid of anyone. It was nice, because she has confidence.”

Jung Seokhee then asked the G5 members about the recent change in the show’s hosts, saying, “‘Invincible Youth 2′ is like a job for G5. As it is a scary senior (translator’s note: he is referring to Lee Youngja) coming in place of a pretty boy (Ji Hyunwoo), I assume you might have felt uneasy on the first day (laugh).”

Hyoyeon answered, “I, too, was worried, but that was very momentary. Right now, I always like it (translator’s note: Hyoyeon is saying she is happy with Lee Youngja joining the show). I like everything.”

Jung Seokhee also asked Hyoyeon what she was the best at doing on “Invincible Youth 2″. With an awkward expression, Hyoyeon replied, “I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing well in.”

Kim Shinyoung came to Hyoyeon’s rescue, saying, “Hyoyeon’s specialty is her instant wit. For instance, even when Youngja mom makes a cheesy joke every now and then, we all laugh it over thanks to Hyoyeon’s wit.”

Hyoyeon then talked about her image on the show. Jung Seokhee asked, “Hyoyeon, are you normally not good at housework? That’s not it, right? You always seem to be getting in trouble with mom (translator’s note: Lee Youngja) while being compared to Bora.”

She answered, “It looks like that, right? I’m actually the best cook amongst the members, but out of nowhere, Youngja mom started pushing me towards [the image of] not being good at [house]work, heuk heuk (translator’s note: crying sounds). However, there isn’t really much reason to come out showing that you do well here, because you’ll just have to work more then (laugh).”

Finally, Jung Seokhee brought up “Dancing with the Stars II”, asking, “When you went between this [show] and MBC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars II’ before, I assume you would have been very tired. Did the ‘Invincible Youth 2′ members give you words of encouragement?”

Hyoyeon revealed, “I’m… not sure. They did send me text messages though. However, even that was after they watched reruns (laughs).”

Boom, another MC on the show, added, “Like when Hyoyeon is doing well, if Youngja noona does something well or if someone has a kiss scene with a guy, we immediately text each other. We encourage, get jealous of, and tease each other. Then there is a fuss during the next meeting.”

A Letter of Appreciation to Soshified from the Korea Retinitis Pigmentosa Society

In July and August of this year, Soshified held a month-long charity drive for the Korea Retinitis Pigmentosa Society, or the KRPS, as a way to commemorate Girls’ Generation’s fifth anniversary. KRPS is a charity organization which works to provide retinitis pigmentosa patients with updated medical information, to console patients, and to encourage patients to fight the disease and slow its progression. Taeyeon, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun are ambassadors for KRPS, which is headed by Choi Jeong-nam, Sooyoung’s father.

Thanks to generous donations from over 100 of Soshified’s members, a total of $15,103 was raised for the KRPS, and on September 19th, Choi Jeong-nam sent Soshified a letter of appreciation as thanks for Soshified’s fund-raising efforts. The letter, pictured above, reads:

On behalf of all of us at Korea Fighting Blindness Organization (A.K.A Korea Retinitis Pigmentosa Society), I would like to thank you for your generous gift of US $15,103.

The wonderful news of your generous donation has given new hope to patients suffering from vision problem here in Korea.

We strongly believe that the recovery of lost vision for patients with retinal diseases will be possible in the near future thanks to the cutting-edge medical technologies including stem cell research, gene-based therapies and drug development. Japanese Single ‘Oh!’ Reaches Number One on Oricon’s ’10/8 Single Weekly Ranking’ Chart

Girls’ Generation’s latest Japanese single, “Oh!”, earned first place on Oricon’s "10/8 Single Weekly Ranking" chart, selling 66,000 copies since its release on September 26th. In addition, the DVD and Blu-Ray for “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection” reached number one on the “Oricon Weekly DVD” and “Oricon Weekly Blu-Ray” charts, with 40,000 DVDs and 19,000 Blu-Ray discs sold.

This is the first time Girls’ Generation earned first place rankings on the single and Blu-Ray charts since their Japanese debut in September 2010. They are the first female artist or group to reach number one on all three charts — Oricon’s Weekly Single, DVD, and Blu-Ray Rankings — in the same week. The only other group to accomplish this same feat was Mr. Children, a Japanese pop rock band formed in 1988. Girls’ Generation was able to achieve this feat even though they are a foreign music group in the Japanese market, making this an even greater accomplishment.

Back to Basics – September Edition

Hello, and welcome to the September edition of “Back to Basics”. As you all may or may not have noticed, I will be continuing this monthly column in place of the original author, and so with that little note aside, let’s jump right in! Girls’ Generation recently celebrated their fifth anniversary on August 5th, a day that will forever be ingrained in the minds of the members and SONEs alike. It’s been five years since the nine nervous yet determined young girls finally stood on their debut stage, performing “Into The New World” on SBS’s “Inkigayo”. Uncertain of their future, they, nor anyone else for that matter, would have imagined the kind of roaring success they have had. We, as SONEs, have enjoyed the numerous awards and achievements received and accomplished by our favorite girls, riding the waves of success along with them. However, sometimes we forget the steps and hurdles Girls’ Generation took to be where they are now, and this column will serve to remind us all of them, or if you are a new SONE, show you the stages of their career. Let’s take a step back in time as we journey through the months of September to reminisce on what has passed.

2007: At first, I was a bit worried because with girls at our age, there’s always jealousy. However, they are all great girls and are very bubbly. I never felt uncomfortable around them. -Sunny

Girls’ Generation performed a special remix of their single “Into The New World” on “M Countdown” on September 27th, a little over a month since their debut. The girls gave an energetic performance as they tried finding their footing for future stages.

2008: One year is a short time, but we are honored that many people love us. – Sooyoung

If there is one thing that has always remained constant through Girls’ Generation’s career, it is the unwavering support from SONEs. “Inkigayo” announced only three days prior to recording that Girls' Generation was going to perform on the September 7th broadcast. Due to individual activities and exhaustion, the girls were not able to practice very much for their cover of Shinhwa's "T.O.P.". According to a fanaccount, the rehearsal didn’t go well. There were missteps and miscues, and members were dancing out of sync. During the real recording, their performance was off yet again, and even the fans noticed how their smiles were forced. The girls were frustrated over their mistake-filled performance, but the PD wanted to go ahead and use it. However, the PD fortunately decided to give them one more chance, and after some technical difficulties which gave the members a little more time to practice, SONEs yelled out, "We love you, Girls' Generation," right before the final recording. The members were surprised, and their expressions immediately brightened. They went on to give a much better performance. Yuri later posted on her tossi blog that she and the members were nervous on stage, but when they heard SONEs' cheers, they were no longer worried.

2009: The nine of us were stressed while we were doing our activities. We were happy, but our bodies and minds were very fatigued. So I hope that we will talk to each other a lot and have fun while resting. -Taeyeon

On September 22nd, fashion editor Han Jungyoon blogged about meeting Girls’ Generation at a photoshoot for “CeCi” magazine. He expressed his surprise at their kindness, explaining how Sunny and Tiffany greeted all 45 staff members individually, which no one had done before. He wrote about how Sunny's positive personality kept the staff members in high spirits and how Tiffany would make and bring coffee for staff members. When the photographs didn't come out exactly how Han Jungyoon wanted it, the girls volunteered to come on a weekend for a re-shoot. Tiffany offered a chair for an editor who stood up to organize charts, and Sunny handed out sandwiches to all staff members before sitting down to eat her own portion. Han Jungyoon was touched by their gestures and said how much he wanted one of his sons to marry one of the girls. He explained that many idol groups work hard during photoshoots, but Girls' Generation was the first to care about the staff members.

2010: I’m working hard with the other members to make good and cool memories. So don’t worry. -Tiffany

2010 marked the first year Girls' Generation broke into the Japanese market as their popularity made waves across the nation. Girls' Generation's "New Beginning of Girls' Generation" DVD rose to first place on the Oricon's "Daily DVD" chart three weeks after its release in Japan. This was a remarkable feat since they had yet to release their official single.

Their debut Japanese single, "Genie", was released on September 8th and entered the Top 5 in Oricon's "Daily Singles" chart on the same day. It rose to second on the chart on September 10th, the highest ranking a Korean girl group had ever achieved in Japan. The single also placed first on Japan's iTunes “Top Singles – Music Video” chart, on Japan's largest music site, music.jp, and on Japan's largest mobile site's movie and video clip sections. The girls first performed their Japanese single at the "Girls Award JAPAN 2010 AUTUMN/WINTER" on September 18th.

2011: We were supposed to give them a good show and perform well for them, but because they prepared that event for us, so we were even more thankful. After that, we wanted to work harder, and we were able to enjoy it together. -Yoona

During the month of September, Girls' Generation's original music video for "Gee" surpassed Wonder Girls's "Nobody" to become the most-viewed K-Pop music video of all time. "Gee" was able to hold the title for a year, adding on to Girls' Generation's growing list of achievements and cementing its status as Korea's national girl group.

2007

• "9 End 2 outs", the drama Yoona made her acting debut on, had its last broadcast date on September 9th.
• Jessica, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun appeared in the September issue of "S" magazine.
• Yoona appeared in a CF with SS501 for Elite as a model for the brand’s school uniforms.

2008

• Taeyeon talked about her childhood obsession for the anime show "Dragon Ball Z" on "ChinChin Radio" and how the character Vegeta was her ideal type growing up. She also admitted on another radio broadcast that she and Hyoyeon used to be awkward around each other.
• Yuri revealed on a broadcast of SBS’s "Love Generation" that her ideal guy is someone who can change a flat tire.
• On UFO Radio, Sunny defended her and Taeyeon's height by saying that it's not that they are short, it's that everyone else is abnormally tall. Taeyeon went on to add that if people were going to tease their height, they should at least buy them milk or a straw to drink their milk.
• The members appeared in a CF with Super Junior members to promote Sunkist's "Sweetieade" beverages.
• The girls performed at "SMTOWN Live World Tour" held at Shanghai Stadium in Shanghai, China on September 13th.
• "Day By Day", which was sung by Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, and Seohyun, and Taeyeon's "Can You Hear Me" from the OST of the MBC drama "Beethoven Virus" was released on September 17th.
• Taeyeon's first live performance of "Can You Hear Me" was broadcast on Taeyeon and Kangin's "ChinChin Radio".
• Osen published an article on the "Two Types of Idol Group Leaders". Taeyeon was under the "Type of Leader Who Stays Strong Despite Sadness". Their explanation revolved around how Taeyeon always tried to hold in her tears to show a strong image for Girls’ Generation and how she would only cry when she goes to a place where no one can see her.

2009

• Girls' Generation performed at the "Korean Broadcasting Association Awards" on September 3rd. In addition, Taeyeon sang her solo OST song, "Can You Hear Me", while Seohyun accompanied her on the piano. This award show was also where Yoona slyly stuck out her tongue at her fellow members when she was on stage to present an award with singer Eun Jiwon.
• Actor Kim Jung Hoon revealed that during his military service, he started to like Taeyeon.
• Jessica was present to cheer on her sister Krystal for f(x)'s debut stage on MBC's "Show! Music Core".
• The members performed comical versions of their songs "Genie" and "Girls' Generation" on the 10th anniversary special of KBS 2TV's "Gag Concert". Taeyeon had to DJ her live radio show, "ChinChin Radio", so she was not present for the recording.
• Yurisangja's Park Seunghwa chose Tiffany as the Korean celebrity he would most like to have a duet with.
• Taeyeon and Park Hyoshin sang a duet to Park Hyoshin's "Snow Flower" at the "Seoul International Drama Awards 2009". The media criticized Taeyeon's vocals and her ability to sing, prompting Park Hyoshin to post a message on his Cyworld homepage that the song was difficult to sing a duet to. He complimented her mature and emotional vocals and said, "Among many idol groups, I think Taeyeon's existence is very important."
• Tiffany and Yuri hosted the "Incheon Korean Music Wave 2009", which was broadcasted through MBC's "Show! Music Core". The members also performed at the event.
• LG Electronics recruited Girls' Generation and f(x) as the new models for their new "Chocolate Black Label Series 4" phone.
• "It's Love", a duet by Taeyeon and Sunny, and "Motion", sung by Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, and Seohyun, were released on September 16th as part of the OST from MBC's drama "Heading to the Ground".
• Sooyoung and Seohyun took Tiffany's place and emceed the September 19th broadcast of MBC's "Show! Music Core". Tiffany was undergoing treatment for her vocal nodules.
• Innisfree selected Yoona as its new promotional model. Yoona's first CF appearance with Innisfree was on September 25th.
• Seohyun became a news reporter for a day for the 40th anniversary of "Daily Sports". She was able to write and publish an article on her members.
• Samyang Ramyun chose Girls' Generation as its new model. The girls appeared in a CF shortly after on September 30th.

2010

• "Cosmopolitan" featured and interviewed Girls' Generation in the magazine’s tenth anniversary edition. The members talked about their first twenty day break since their debut. The girls were so used to being around their members that, a few days into their break, they made a big fuss and started sharing texts, calls, and pictures because they missed each other.
• Seohyun made a cameo appearance in TRAX's "Oh! My Goddess" music video that was released on September 2nd. She was also on the cover of their album, which was released on September 6th.
• The members revealed that their plane, which was heading to Japan for the first time for their showcase on August 22nd, was hit by lighting after its takeoff. Even though it slightly scared them, they took it as a sign that their Japanese promotion will be a hit.
• On September 4th, Girls' Generation performed at the 2010 "SMTOWN Live World Tour" held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, United States.
• Shibuya's Cafe Manduka held a Girls' Generation exhibition in commemoration of the girls’ debut in Japan by displaying various panels of photographs. The background music in the store was entirely Girls' Generation's songs.
• Numerous Japanese celebrities blogged about their excitement, admiration, and love for Girls' Generation during the group’s promotions in Japan.
• Seohyun and Yonghwa performed their first official couple duet at the "2010 Incheon Korea Music Wave" as part of their mission for MBC's "We Got Married". They performed a rock mix of Girls' Generation's "Run Devil Run" and Yonghwa's "Love Light", a song he wrote while thinking of Seohyun.
• 2NE1's Minzy thanked Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, and Yoona in the "Thanks To" section of 2NE1's newest album, "To Anyone".

• On September 26th, Girls' Generation held their first official fan meeting at Hwajung Gymnasium at Korea University. The girls revealed many things about themselves, such as Taeyeon's desire to sing with Justin Bieber. Also, Sooyoung explained that her legs aren't really that long; it's just the other members' are short. They also decided to celebrate Hyoyeon's birthday during the fan meeting.
• Taeyeon's mother told a fan who was visiting her family’s eyeglass shop, “I don’t know how these nine different girls got together and became complete as one. It must be destiny.”

2011

• Girls' Generation and Soshified were featured in the September issue of "Cosmopolitan" magazine. They discussed the Hallyu Wave and Girls' Generation in America, and they recognized the impact that Soshified had in reaching fans outside of Korea. Soy was also interviewed.
• Marie Digby tweeted, "Thank you to Taeyeon from Girls' Generation for recommending my song "Spell" for a listen." Taeyeon recommended the song to fans in her UFO reply on August 25th.
• Girls' Generation performed at the three day "SMTOWN Live World Tour" concert at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
• On September 5th, Sooyoung was released from the hospital following a car accident that fractured her sacrovertebrae on August 28th. She left a touching video message that she made and edited herself for SONEs. She thanked the fans for the prayers and encouragements they sent her and reassured everyone that she was doing well.
• Yoona appeared in her first CF with Eider on September 16th with actor Lee Minho.
• Sunny revealed in a two-part episode of "Strong Heart" that Boom used to contact her constantly during his time in the army. Hyoyeon also announced that she no longer had a crush on the male idol she secretly liked for years. Her ideal type was shattered when his actions changed after he somehow found out.
• The girls took part in the "Surprise Blood Drive" event to support blood donation and to address the shortage of blood.
• Girls’ Generation performed in a three day solo concert at Taipei Arena in Taipei, Taiwan for their second stop on the “2nd Asia Tour". Sooyoung was still recovering from her car accident and was not able to attend.
• On an episode of "Star Auction Charity", Yoona donated her "Genie" outfit that was worn seven times. It auctioned off for 6.7 million won, or $6,200 USD.
• Yoona's role in "Love Rain" was confirmed. She played the dual role of Kim Yoonhee, a college student in the 1970s, and her daughter, Jung Hana, in present time.
• THEFACESHOP chose Seohyun as its newest promotional model.
• On KBS's "Big Brothers", Taeyeon and Tiffany discussed an argument they had over Taeyeon's upset stomach during Girls' Generation's recent Japan concert tour. Taeyeon was so angry that she wanted to cancel the "Lady Marmalade" duet with Tiffany. Their manager called the two into a room and told them, "I'm thankful that this is the first time you guys are fighting during the entire fourteen concerts you've had so far." After he said this, Taeyeon and Tiffany both started crying and made up.
• Sooyoung donated her Nintendo DSi that she personally signed to be auctioned off to help build an ALS care center. It was sold for 1,100,000 won, or roughly $1,000 USD.
• "The Boys" individual comeback teaser photos, along with the album cover, were released, sparking curiosity and excitement for their comeback in October.
• The girls’ Japanese debut single, "Genie", was certified platinum for full length music ringtones by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, or RIAJ, after reaching 250,000 mobile downloads.

Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun Leave Messages in Commemoration of Chuseok

On September 27th, 28th, and 29th, Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun each left messages on Girls’ Generation’s official website in commemoration of Chuseok, a national holiday in Korea. In her message, Taeyeon greeted her fans, saying that Girls’ Generation has been working hard on different activities for SONEs. She also mentioned that the weather has been growing colder and asked fans to be careful of catching a cold due to the changing seasons. Taeyeon included several photos of herself in a traditional hanbok and ended her message with “I love you, I like you, SONE^^”. Feeling that a hanbok didn’t suit her, Tiffany chose instead to give fans a photoset of herself with a teddy bear dressed in an outfit similar to those worn by Girls’ Generation in the “PAPARAZZI” music video. Complete with pink gloves, the “PAPARAZZI” bear is sure to be the next stuffed animal in demand among Girls’ Generation’s fans. Check out Tiffany’s entire translated message here.

On September 28th, Yuri added her own message on Girls’ Generation’s official website, wishing fans happy times with their family and friends. Yuri suggested making songpyeon, a traditional Korean food eaten during Chuseok, and asked that fans remember her round face when seeing the round moon. She uploaded three photos of herself dressed in a hanbok, which can be found here with her translated message.

As a gift from “Yoongie” for fans, Yoona uploaded her own photo in a hanbok, hoping for them to have an enjoyable holiday with food and family. Like Taeyeon, she also wished for fans to be wary of catching a cold. Check out Yoona’s message here.

Indonesian television network RCTI has uploaded various performances from “SMTOWN Live Tour III” in Jakarta. In this video, Girls’ Generation performed “The Boys” and “Kissing You”, which begin at the timestamps 45:24 and 53:57, respectively. The girls also sang “Hope” alongside the other SMTOWN idols as the concert’s ending song at 1:02:20. During the press conference, Taeyeon conducted a short interview, which can be seen at 38:41.

MBC Broadcasts Performances from ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III’ in Seoul

On October 1st, MBC aired footage recorded during “SMTOWN Live World Tour III” in Seoul, which took place on last month on August 18th. In addition to performances from many of Girls’ Generation’s labelmates, including BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), and EXO, MBC aired Girls’ Generation’s performances of “Genie” and “The Boys”, as well as Girls’ Generation – TTS’s “Twinkle” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love”, a collaboration with members of EXO.

MBC also broadcasted the “Dance Parade”, which featured Hyoyeon, Yuri, Yoona, and lead dancers from other groups under SM Entertainment, “Dear My Family” with Taeyeon, and “Hope” with all of the members of SMTOWN. Also shown were clips from a welcome party held for fans on an international tour package and footage from backstage at the concert. In addition, MBC made sure to show many shots of the audience throughout the entire show.

Soshified Spotlight September 2012 Part 2: Kkabbekky

Welcome to Part 2 of the September 2012 edition of Soshified Spotlight.

Just like every other month, we’re once again highlighting a regular member in Part 1, and a Soshified staff member in Part 2.

In Part 1, we featured gosonyushidae, a high school student from the Philippines. In Part 2 we meet Kkabbekky, or Bekky, a Japanese Translator from Belgium. A diehard SONE, and more specifically a hardcore Yurisistable, Bekky possesses many talents and interests. She is a saleswoman, an accomplished artist, a lover of languages, a world traveler, and a Twitter fiend. (If you consider yourself a SONE, make sure to follow this girl on Twitter for more gifs of Yuri’s butt than you can handle.)

What is your first name?

Just call me Bekky.

How did you find out about Soshified and why did you decide to join?

I found out about soshified via soompi. And like many people maybe I joined because I needed subs.
But eventually the forum helped me in getting to know the members.

How did you come up with your screen name?

My bias is Yuri and she had the nickname kkabyul so I just added kkab to my name.

Does the “Kkab” in your name also accurately portray you too just like it does Yuri?

Not really because “kkab” means energetic and dorky right? But I’m not like that. I can be when I’m with my friends, but usually I’m not.

Where are you originally from, and where do you currently reside (city and country for both)?

I am from Belgium and live there too unfortunately.

Why is it unfortunate that you live in Belgium?

To me it’s a boring country. I feel like I was born in the wrong place. I have more interest in Korea or Japan, or let’s say Asian cultures.

So like an egg?

Hahaha yes! Somebody else called me that.

If we were visiting you where you live for one day, where would you take us? Why are these places so significant?

If you would visit I’ll just probably take you to Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp/Gent. Nothing significant about those places, just places where all tourists go. You can see lots of historic buildings and find out more about our history.

Tell us a little about your life. What do you do full time and in your free time?

I’m a full time sone. just kidding but it looks like that a lot. Because I think about soshi on a daily basis. Unfortunately I also have to work. I didn’t find the job I really wanted to do yet so right now I’m working in sales.

What's the most interesting thing about you and/or that has ever happened to you?

I am the biggest language genius. I know about 20 languages. lol no I wish…but I really love learning languages though.
And I have studied about 8 languages actively, which doesn’t mean I can speak them fluently lol

For people who are first meeting you (like most of us), how would you describe yourself?

People who would actually meet me, would think I’m very calm and quiet I think. Though when I really connect with someone I won’t be so calm anymore. Apparently I’m also different in real life than on twitter.

Tell us some things that most people don't know about you that you think they should.

I went to drawing school for 9 years and my drawings were in a small exhibition before. But it wasn’t anything big. And I played the saxophone for about 3 years.

Is there anything big in your life that you're working on? (This can be related to school, career, hobbies,family,friends, etc.)

I rather keep it a secret, but it’s something I’ve been trying to do for about 3 years but it never worked out.

What are your interests outside of Girls' Generation?

Watching movies? Listening to music? Sleeping? lol I also really love traveling. It can be nearby my place or like a day trip.
I just love to get to know the cultures of other countries. I really hope to do a world trip in the future.

Where did the love of languages and traveling come from? And more specifically, how did you become so fluent in Japanese, and why Japanese?

The love of traveling comes from my parents. We traveled a lot in Europe when I was a kid. And my love for languages…all of us really love languages. But me the most, I started studying English by myself when I was nine years old. I asked my dad to buy me this CD to study English, and I studied daily. And Japanese, I only studied European languages in school but I wanted to study a language from another continent too, so I checked out Chinese, Russian and Japanese, and Japanese seemed the most interesting to me.

Yeah I was wondering about the English, because obviously you’re very fluent, but it is not one of Belgium’s official languages.

Yeah it came so far that sometimes I say an English word instead of a Dutch word, because I just can’t remember the Dutch word. Belgium’s official languages are Dutch, French and German.

So you know all three?

Dutch is my mother tongue, I had to study French for eight years but I’m not that fluent anymore and my German is very basic: only studied it for two years.

How did you first become a fan of Girls' Generation?

I actually saw them on some shows before because I liked wonder girls first. And I saw them on Music Bank and when they did the dance off with Wonder Girls. But I actually noticed them for the very first time when I saw the posters for Gee. I think that was around end of 2008. After that I just started watching all Gee performances and I was hooked.

Who is your favorite member and why?

My favorite member is black pearl Yuri. My very first bias and it never changed. Thing is I couldn’t see the difference between Seohyun, Yoona and Yuri in the very beginning, but then I just started watching variety shows and Yuri was my favorite right away. Yuri is just so funny to me. I really love the way she dances, love it how she is so confident even when she makes mistakes. I also love her husky voice. Basically I love everything about her.

What is your favorite Girls' Generation song and MV and why?

My favorite song is RDR. I just love the dark concept and the choreo. It’s very sexy. I was a bit sad they didn’t get to promote that song a lot.
I like all their MVs. If I have to give a favorite one I think ITNW MV. It’s their only real story MV and I just get very nostalgic whenever I watch it again.

What is your favorite Girls' Generation moment and why?

I can’t think of any specific soshi moment right now. But their bond is so great so I just like all of them cheesy moments.
Apart from the moments among the members I love the interactions I could have with some members, especially Yuri.
In Paris I was able to give my gift/letter personally to Yuri and she read the letter right in front of me on the bus. It was great to see her smile while reading my letter.
Recently I was also able to see snsd a couple of times in Korea. I saw them at Gimpo airport and Yuri giggled at me.
These girls are just so amazing and so sweet to their fans!

How has Girls’ Generation impacted your life, in specific areas or even as a whole?

Thanks to them I got to meet with sones from other countries and make new friends who share the same interests.
They also influenced me in fashion a little bit. I bought ray bans, mickey mouse earrings (yuri lol) etc.

What do you like most about Soshified, and why? Any section in particular you’re attracted to?

That ssf translates so thoroughly and that they are best up to date with soshi news. My favorite section is video download section/ssf subs section of course.

Why did you decide to join the Soshified staff, and why the particular job you have now?

I actually just translated on my twitter first but then somebody told me I should join ssf instead.
I decided to join to keep up with my Japanese. If you don’t actively use the language it’s easy to just forget.

What exactly do you do? Do you enjoy this position? What do you like about it?

I translate Japanese vids, messages, lyrics usually. Well lately I don’t have that much time to translate anymore, so I’m not that active at the moment.

What is your favorite project that you’ve ever been involved in?

I really like translating magazine interviews. There is always something new you get to know about the girls when translating those. Unfortunately they weren’t in any Japanese magazines lately. It’s also always very fun to see people spazz on twitter about the answers soshi gave. I think my fav magazines were Vogue Japan and Ray.
I also like translating the small messages they leave on the Japan mobile site.

Any interesting experiences when interacting with members?

Not that I can remember right now. But I ‘met’ some really great people on ssf.
Staff related especially the Japanese subbing team. Fen, Colby and Julie are great people! And I’m thankful they could keep up with my lateness and inactiveness lately.
Beside them I want to say a big thank you to gotmilk for translating my love letters to Yuri. lol
Also all my love to Kimmy (hangthienbao) she is my mate here and on twitter. She is the biggest Sooyoung fan I know and thanks to her my love for Sooyoung grew way bigger too.
There are a lot more people that I could thank or whatever but that would get too boring. I’ll just say I’m glad I could meet some of you sones in real life or talk with you on twitter.

How did you become so active on Twitter?

I wanna ask people actually why they even follow me lol and I’m bored at work so I’m active during the week and Twitter really keeps you up to date. Plus I can talk to my friends and new people.

Is there anything else about you that you would like to add?

Nothing more to add about myself. I talked enough about myself.
