Welcome May!

May is such a wonderful month (in my opinion).  Everything is turning the most brilliant colors and the sweet scent of lilacs will be in the air very soon.  Our lilac scent smells exactly like the sweet blooming bush, you can have the sweet scent all year long.  We also celebrate our teacher’s and nurse’s.  Nurse’s appreciation week is May 8th-14th and Teacher’s Appreciation week is May 4th-8th and we are offering a discount for the whole month.  Mother’s Day is May 14th.  

We will be closed Saturday May 18th as we celebrate the graduation of our son from Corning Community College.

Are you a mother to be or do you know someone that will soon be a mother?  Postpartum bath sitz would make a wonderful gift for any mother to be. February is the last full month of winter! I don’t know about you but it’s so nice to drive home after work and still have it be light out. Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter, but mother nature will do things her way.

Happy 2023! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

I would like to say THANK YOU for your loyalty, support and business in 2022.  I’m looking forward to seeing what this year will bring us all.

Many of you know that in January 2022 we purchased the building and land that is the home of Wick-edly Sent.  Recently the Farmington Town Historian was in and chatted about our location.  I thought I would share the photos that she posted on Facebook.  Our building was multiple taverns over the years and there was a house on the north side of the parking lot that was later torn town.  The building was also the home of video rental, barber shop and multiple gift shops over the years.

Jams from Lazy Daisy Acres

Wick-edly Sent carries a variety of items from other local small businesses such as Lazy Daisy Acres.  We recently made thumbprint cookies using Stacie’s jams.  OMGoodness they were delicious, my favorite was the apple pie jam…it’s a must try.

Hello Spring!  Do you have spring fever? I sure do! I’m very eager to get out and plant some flowers, open the pool and start enjoying the sun on our porch.  Keep in mind that Mother’s Day is right around the corner.

We have started adding spring and summer scents to the store.  In order to make room for these new scents we’ve put select scents on sale for $4.88 (25% off) while supplies last.  

White Sage & Lavender– White Sage and Lavender fragrance oil is a camphoraceous blend of herbs, lavender, and aromatic woods. Sage, rosemary, and chamomile awaken the earthiness of lavender, while hints of sandalwood and cedar in the base are reinforced by clove, lavandin, and cedarwood essential oils. 

Coconut Lime– fun blend of tropical fruits and white florals. Lemon verbena, ripened coconut, and fresh lime combine in this soothing, beachy scent. Lime and orange essential oils brighten up the smooth coconut with pops of juicy citrus.

Butterfly Flower– A delicate and pretty floral bouquet of French mimosa, cyclamen and jasmine blended with nuances of tea, tangerine, lemon leaf, coconut and musk.

Caribbean Teakwood– a bold, complex fragrance with wide appeal. It leads with spicy top notes of ginger, peppercorn, and spice. Middle notes of tobacco leaf and aged teakwood blend into the woody, deep base of sandalwood, amber, and dark musk.

Sea Salt & Orchid– Wrap your senses in an elegant blend of soft floral notes and marine highlights with Sea Salt and Orchid fragrance oil. Crisp ozonic top notes blend into mid notes of sea salt, lush green leaves, and intoxicating freesia all resting on a relaxing base of tonka bean, amber, and a hint of musk. 

Beautiful Days– Top notes of Sun-kissed Apple, Dewy Pear, Sparkling Cassis. Middle Notes of Wild Daisies, Lily of the Valley, Fresh Pink Peony. Bottom notes of White Peach and Blonde Woods. 

Strawberry Melon– A luscious blend of sweet, juicy strawberries and sweet ripe cantaloupe melon.

Beach Daisies– (Back by popular demand) The lovely simpleness of daisies, gardenia and lemongrass.

Unicorn Poop– A fabulously fruity blend of apples, peaches and apricots blended with effervescent citrus notes giving this a wonderful sparkly note. Delicious, sweet red berries are blended throughout with hints of coconut and sweet sugar crystals sprinkled with magical pixie dust. This scent will be an addition to our kids’ soap scents: Shower in the Rainbow, Dinosaur Clean and Monkey Farts.

During this crazy time one of my regular customers created a Facebook group called Canandaigua Together.   This groups goal is to help support local small businesses by providing information on these businesses, events, groups and activities.  Check them out! It’s more important now than ever to support local small businesses.  Without your support many of these businesses will not be able to survive.  So shop mom and pop stores online, buy gift certificates for later and get take out every now and then.

Wick-edly Sent is happy to welcome FLX Goods as a partner.  FLX Goods offers a variety of wonderful products and the best part is they are all made right here in the Finger Lakes area.  For now they are selling only online.  Hopefully in the near future they will be able to open their store in Geneva with many more  amazing local products.
