"Graduate" is a terrible word they use because it gives one the idea you are now qualified to deal with your problems, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. You need to do the sober living -- I believe that anyone who truly wants to be sober MUST do the sober living to give themselves a chance -- because that is where they can practice the techniques they just learned about to avoid their weakness for whichever substance, and it forces them to deal with life sober.
