<p>Feng Shui means &#8220;wind and water&#8221; in Chinese. In the Chinese culture, wind and water are symbols of health and good fortune. It&#8217;s based on the belief that the world around us is filled with energy, or Chi.</p>
<p><strong><em>The Chi of the world around you could actually make your kingdom flourish or fall. </em></strong>Boosting your Chi and living in harmony with the world&#8217;s energy around you alleviates stress and brings peace to you, your home, and the people in it.</p>
<p><strong>Here are a few tips you can use right now to start relieving stress and experiencing a more well balanced life with Feng Shui:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li><strong> Decorate with nature. </strong>Decorate the surroundings inside your home with aspects of nature to bring yourself peace and relaxation. Feng Shui uses things like running water, fresh flowers, and plants to relieve stress and create a soothing environment. Only use fresh flowers and keep them healthy. <strong><em>Wilted flowers and plants represent tension.</em></strong></li>

<p>A large portion of communication is non-verbal. That’s why some people have so much trouble communicating in print format. You miss out on so many hints as to what the person means when you can’t see body language. Conversely, you can also hide a lot of things from the receiver when body language isn’t an issue, such as fear and nerves.</p>
<p>So, if you plan to attend meetings and events in person, it’s good to learn about body language and how it affects others so that you have more control over it &#8211; enabling you to send the signals you want to send. If you can be aware of what your own body is doing and what messages it’s sending others, you can gain control not only over your body, but also the meeting.</p>
<p><strong>Avoid Fidgeting</strong></p>
<p>All of us have a tick or two such as wiggling a foot, or tapping a pen, or brushing our hands through our hair. But, it’s a good idea to try very hard to learn other coping mechanisms when you’re at meetings. These habits can bother other people and send the wrong message. If you need to do anything it’s okay to stretch, put your hands behind your head, or adjust your stance, but avoid repetitive motions.</p>
<p><strong>Wear Clothing That Makes You Feel Confident</strong></p>
<p>It may seem silly, but what you wear sends a huge message to others. It tells people that you feel good about yourself, what you do, and that you are professional. Dress for the part you want, not the part you have. Consider who your audience is and who you need to impress and what sort of clothing would work for them. But, do ensure that you feel good in the clothing. If you don’t, you’ll feel out of place and it will show in your demeanor.</p>
<p><strong>Smile and Look at People</strong></p>
<p>One of the best things you can do to send the right signals to others is to look at them and smile at them. People respond well to an open person who is comfortable enough to look at the people they are talking to, and smile. You don’t want to look creepy &#8211; just natural, so practice at every opportunity.</p>
<p><strong>Look As If You’re Listening</strong></p>
<p>Truly, an often overlooked skill is the ability to listen to others. But, you also need to give your audience the feeling that you’re listening. You can do this via body language such as smiling, shaking your head, making the appropriate emotions with your mouth and also repeating back to them what you think they said in your own words.</p>
<p><strong>Keep Your Hands Waist Level</strong></p>
<p>Be aware if you’re doing things with your arms and legs to block your listener&#8217;s view. If you’re having meetings over coffee or drinks, for instance, avoid putting the coffee between you and your guest. Avoid continuously lifting the coffee to block the view of your guest when you are talking or they are talking.</p>
<p>Learn about body language and how an open posture sends a message of openness and how a closed posture can send the opposite message. There are times where you may want to use either to put people at ease or to cut them off without saying a word. There is power in understanding body language and how it affects your communication with others.</p>

<p>My home is exactly as I like. The colors that surround me are lovely to the eye and calming to the soul. I invest my time in the hobbies and activities that arouse my curiosity, keep my mind engaged, and ensure my body is healthy.</p>
<p>I not only want these things in my life—I need them.</p>
<p>A life that is achievement-oriented requires me to work toward my life goals. I believe very much that I need goals to urge me along and work for the very things I want.</p>
<p>I have love in my life. The Beatles once said, “Love is all you need” and I am inclined to agree with them. Because of the love I have in my life, I am able to live a happy, fulfilling existence. I definitely need love and I have it.</p>
<p>Today, I am truly thankful that I possess everything I need. <strong><em>I have life, love, and the joyful pursuit of happiness!</em></strong></p>

<p>Whether you work from home or work in an office, sometimes you have to conquer the dreaded business meeting. The best way to do well at any business meeting or event is to focus on creating a positive first impression.</p>
<p><strong>1. Research the Audience</strong></p>
<p>Every meeting usually has a specific audience that will go to that meeting. If it’s a more universal type meeting, research the people that you want to connect with. Know some facts about them and how they got their start. They’ll be impressed that you took the time to get to know them before meeting them.</p>
<p><strong>2. Dress Appropriately</strong></p>
<p>Find out what type of clothing people will be wearing to the meeting or event. The more you can fit in due to your mode of dress, the more people will remember you in a positive way. Dress for the position you want is a good refrain, but be careful about the “power” suit or appearing too high above your audience because you want them to remember you, not fear you.</p>
<p><strong>3. Be First</strong></p>
<p>When it comes time to introduce yourself, the person who puts their hand out first and states their name and gives their 30-second introduction is the person who holds the power in the meeting. You should also be first to introduce the person you just met to others as they approach. This makes you seem very important and people will remember you more due to your kindness.</p>
<p><strong>4. Ask Open-Ended Questions</strong></p>
<p>Most people are a little nervous at events or meetings but if you ask each person you meet open-ended questions about themselves and their business, they will be put at ease. And oddly, the more people get to talk about themselves, the more they will remember you. An open-ended question is one that must be answered with a sentence instead of a yes or no answer.</p>
<p><strong>5. Listen Actively</strong></p>
<p>As you meet people and ask those questions, truly listen for their answers. Repeat back to them their name and the things they say in your own words, then ask them good follow-up questions. This will make you seem like the most interesting person at the meeting or event because you are actually listening. And as you repeat things back to the person you’re conversing with, it will also help you remember more about each person that you connect with.</p>
<p>One final way to create a positive first impression is by what happens after the meeting. Always follow up with those whom you met. Use the information on the business cards you collected, or find them online, and connect with them in a new way. Send them a thank you card, or cut out an article and send it to them, or find a creative way to connect with them outside of the meeting. This will make you a truly memorable connection for them.</p>

<p>Every one of us is given the gift of life. Whether or not we live it to the fullest is our choice. We can have the gift of life, but in living it is how we give back. Life is a song, sing it like nobody is listening.</p>
<p>Part of being a carefree individual is singing your song to your own tune without hurting anyone else and allowing others the privilege to do the same.</p>
<p>When you see that you are your own melody and that others belong to their own tune, as well you open up the space for a life that is as beautiful as a personal sonnet.</p>
<p><strong>Unique Beings</strong></p>
<p>If you think about human beings that surround you, for example your immediate family, friends, or coworkers, you probably wonder why they are not like you a little bit more. In fact, it is in this mindset that we get into trouble.</p>
<p>We wonder why someone did not call us back in the timeframe that we would have returned a phone call. Perhaps we have an expectation of others to be as polite, kind, friendly, or even thoughtful as we are.</p>
<p>Once we realize and recognize that each individual is unique, we tend to see that our differences enhance our lives rather than complicate them. Each person is a unique individual in his or her own right.</p>
<p>When we begin to take on this understanding, we begin to embrace our own uniqueness, as well.</p>
<p><strong>Acceptance</strong></p>
<p>When we begin to accept others for who they are and who they are meant to be, we begin to show unconditional love. When we are finally able to love others unconditionally, we are able to offer ourselves that same gift.</p>
<p>When we accept others, we accept ourselves, mistakes, imperfections, and all. And, in that acceptance, we can let go of expectations.</p>
<p><strong>Let Go of Expectations</strong></p>
<p>When we have a need or expectation of another human being, it puts pressure on them. If we allow others to just be who they are, we can allow ourselves the same opportunity. Of course, you expect people to be prompt, courteous, polite, and respectful, but if they are not, remember it is not personal. These are simply qualities and quirks of their unique personalities that have nothing to do with you.</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Take Things Personal</strong></p>
<p>If you learn that each person is an individual and to not take things personal, you will find a cloud lifting like a heavy weight of burden being released. People are who they are and if we take everything personally, then we don&#8217;t free up the space for open communication because we are ready to do battle right away.</p>
<p>Life is a song, sing like no one is listening. March to the beat of your own drum, sing like no one is listening, and allow others to do the same. When you put these simple rules into practice, you will see how much freedom you now have and you now offer others.</p>

<p>You may feel like you should always be doing something productive. However, <strong><em>taking care of yourself is ultimately the most productive thing you can do. </em></strong>When you&#8217;ve given yourself proper rest and permission to do whatever you want once in awhile, you&#8217;ll be better able to focus great efforts on the other things in your life that matter.</p>
<p>People that schedule downtime for themselves clearly have lower stress levels. <strong><em>Allow yourself a proper  amount of time for rest. </em></strong>Get 6-8 hours of sleep at night and avoid the temptation to stay up doing something else with that time.</p>
<p>You should also allow yourself a portion of the day where you get to do whatever you want. Even when time is short, let yourself enjoy a few minutes of total relaxation sometime during the day to rejuvenate.</p>
<p>Scheduling proper downtime also gives you time for reflection. When you reflect on your life, you can concentrate on the meaning of it all. You&#8217;ll be more likely to truly enjoy your journey. <strong><em>It&#8217;s so easy to let life pass you by if you don&#8217;t take some time to reflect.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Concentrating On Attitude</strong></p>
<p>Thinking positively is something you can choose to do regardless of your circumstances in life. Everyone struggles with it from time to time, and you owe it to yourself to focus on having a positive attitude.</p>
<p><strong><em>A positive attitude is the foundation for a good life. </em></strong>Your outlook will allow you to enjoy all the craziness and will equip you to deal with the stressful parts. When negative thinking creeps up, just think about the things that are going right. You can also visualize how it&#8217;ll feel when things turn around for the better.</p>
<p><strong>Keeping Up</strong></p>
<p>In a fast paced life, you can definitely take certain steps to slow your life down, but you can also work on being able to keep up!</p>
<p>Make a list of the areas where you&#8217;re having trouble balancing. Brainstorm actions that you can take to improve your ability to cope.</p>
<p>For example, if you struggle to complete your tasks at work, see what you can do to fix this challenge. Maybe you can do one of your projects more efficiently. Perhaps you can rearrange your schedule to take care of the more stressful tasks first, leaving the least stressful for the end of the day when you&#8217;re ready to unwind.</p>
<p><strong>Dealing with Stress</strong></p>
<p>Stress in your day-to-day life is nearly unavoidable. However, <strong><em>it&#8217;s how you deal with the stress that counts. </em></strong>It&#8217;s important for you to <em>not </em>let it build up, or it could lead to greater issues in the long run.</p>
<p>Do what you can to relieve your stress in a healthy way. Work on relaxation and breathing techniques. If you&#8217;re more socially inclined, venting to a close friend can help you deal with stress. As long as you&#8217;re doing <em>something </em>to relieve your stress, you&#8217;ll be able to jump back into your faced paced life with a positive attitude.</p>
<p>Just because the world we live in is hectic, it doesn&#8217;t mean that your life needs to be that way also. When you use these tips, you&#8217;ll find it a lot easier to remain positive and enjoy a stress-free life.</p>
