So now the social media world is abuzz with the news that the social news site Yahoo! Buzz is open to anyone anywhere(okay, okay, currently they focused on the U.S. audience) to Buzz Up! anything found online… going by its logo it’s still in Beta…

Now many of you have probably either read or seen for yourself how anyone could make comparisons between Yahoo! Buzz and Digg… now you have a choice: Buzz Up! or digg it!

Muhammed Saleem wrote a “thumbs up” post back in February espousing the virtues(my words, not his) of Why Yahoo! buzz is a Brilliant Idea

Will Yahoo! still carry on with this requirement that publishers being added to Buzz had to make sure they didn’t use Google Adsense but had to be part of YPN(Yahoo! Publishers Network) instead…?

The second question that has to be about the ad sharing agreement that Yahoo! required users to join as a part of being added to Buzz. Yahoo! told selected publishers that they had to be a part of the Yahoo! Publishers Network instead of AdSense. That didn’t seem very realistic at the time and presumably the requirement goes out the window now. Or does it? Editorial and advertising weren’t separated in the first iteration of Buzz – how separate will they be now?

This new way of spamming on Facebook has set my britches on fire!… Facebook Notes Tag Spam. What is it?

Well, it’s where someone writes a note… pretty much anything length & pretty much about anything==> Write Your Own Facebook Note & Tag Spam Here. And then tag it with Facebook Friends who have NOTHING directly to do with the Note…

It bothered me enough that I took screen capture shots and was going to rant here about it but decided to save the pics and do a “Stop Your Damn Facebook Notes Tag Spam Part Two!”. Without further ado here’s what I sent a well-respected How to Use Facebook PROFESSIONALLY(read, in a NON-SPAMmy way) expert through Facebook…

I’ve left off the P.S. and protected the expert’s name. I’ve replaced the name with [facebook expert]. You’ll notice that I sent her(oops! ; P) the message without revealing the names and gender of the perps involved…

Have you written anything about Notes Tag Spamming yet…?

I’m so mad(well a bit of an exaggeration) that I’m about to blog about it and will include it in some report and/or book… it’s interesting because I ended up on someone’s blog post and the person mentioned how you asked to have your tag removed since the Facebook Note had nothing to do with you…

Now I wonder if the most recent note is before or after your request for removal… because there are plenty of others tagged… and of course there’s that other person(who really ticks me off, again maybe a bit of an exaggeration) who’s doing the same thing and I can’t believe what was written in the note it is the EXACT Opposite to what that person did… I haven’t seen said person’s training materials but I’m pretty sure it involves a whole lot of impersonal(keyword) spamming… Friends Requests and now, writing Notes and Tagging…

Someone’s got to stop these fools! Oh well… ; P
