In business, coordinating your schedule with others when it comes to conference calls and meetings can often seem chaotic. Often you’re left playing email ping pong back and forth with your staff, clients and vendors trying to find the right time that will work with both your schedules. Now there is an easier way to coordinate your schedule so that you have control over it. It’s called Tungle.me.

Tungle.me is an online application that can be accessed from your desktop and your mobile device. If someone wants to schedule a meeting with you they can simply access your Tungle.me and select three different times that work for them. You’ll then be able to review those times and select one that works with your schedule. An email is then sent to all parties with the date and time of your meeting. It doesn’t get easier than that. The best part about Tungle.me is that you set the schedule of the times you are available so there is no worry about someone booking an appointment during your lunch hour. You can also access your Tungle.me account from any mobile device. So you can see your schedule no matter where you are.

With today’s hectic pace, it’s nice to know that you have one thing under control. With Tungle.me you’re always in control.

Now that Google+ is over the 6 month hump, there have been many growth opportunities for business owners while using this platform. From creating hangout where you can show someone how to cook, to music or art lessons via hangouts, or even interviews via hangouts, business owners have found many ways to monetize their efforts on Google+.

Hangouts are definitely a great way to find a perfect customer. Remember, just as you may take time to find your perfect match when it comes to love, the same is true when it comes to finding your perfect customers. Just like many want to celebrate Valentines day, you should want to celebrate finding the perfect customers using my CER Method. The CER Method comes into play when you as a business owner plan to use Google+ in Connecting, Engaging, and Relating to your perfect target customer.

In an article by Michael Fortin entitled “How to Target Your Perfect Customer“, he said…

If you have done enough research to know your product is viable, then targeting and connecting with your market as much as possible should be the obvious next step. However, this is where many marketers fail, for they are trying to be “all things to all people” and attempt to market their product to everyone.

Instead, try to discover the qualities, characteristics and behavioral patterns of your specific (or greatest) market. Your niche. Then market to that audience more than any other and as often as possible. These usually fall into four main categories.

Michael said it perfectly when he stated that you should discover the qualities, characteristics and behavioral patterns of your target market. This leads into the explanation about the CER Method.

In Connecting with your target customers, remember that you need to research on Google+ in order to find them. You can do this by using the Search bar at the top to help you find people who are discussing your niche. Once you have done your research, and found your potential customers, adding them to your Circle will signify your desire to Connect. Do it!

The next step involves taking the connection to the NEXT level by Engaging with the people you have connected with. You can engage by showing them that you like the content that they have shared by +1ing it (click the +1 in the lower left corner of the post). Or you can engage them by commenting on their post or resharing their post.

Once you start Connecting, then Engaging, now you can start building a Relationship with those that you want to connect with. You do this by hanging out with them or just continuing to engage with them regarding their content and asking them what they think about your content.

To help you do this, I want to encourage you with 7 simple activities you can start right now. So now comes the easy part where you get to participate in finding your perfect customer using the CER Method on Google+, you get to do fun activities. YEAH! Below are a list of things that can assist you in finding your perfect customers using Google+ in these 7 simple steps:

Signup for Google+

Edit your personal profile to create buzz around you and your business (check mine out for reference: http://plus.ly/kimbeasley)

Create a business page

Find 25 people who talk about your niche on Google+ then implement the CER Method

Share relevant information pertaining to your niche

Have fun participating in hangouts where you can connect with your target customers

It only makes sense that there is a Google Chrome extension that can help make your hangout experience even better. It’s call “Better on Air Hangouts“. What is this new extension all about? Well let’s take a closer look.

With this extension you can actually enhance your hangout experience by making the player larger as well as being able to open it in a new tab. So many people have said that they love the Google+ Hangouts but are tired of the small player size. That is now a thing of the past thanks to this extension.

With this extension viewers get to increase the width of the player to fill the Google+ stream but will still have the ability to see the comments being posted. Plus you can also open a full screen version of the stream in a new tab. So it literally doesn’t get any easier with this extension.

Want to know more? Then click here. Have you used this extension? If so let me know your thoughts in the functionality and ease of use with this extension.

Social media has taken the world by storm. It has encompassed our every day lives and for some they are like Linus in Charlie Brown and they “need” that blanket. However, do you think there is truth to the theory that the more time you spend on Facebook, the more you think that others have happier lives compared to your own?

The responses to this question have varied but I found them very interesting and wanted to share a few of them with you. One reader responded by saying:

“I left Facebook because it was driving me crazy. The software was awful, there was zero interaction, and I was sick of game requests. I don’t know that I have a happier life, but I do dislike Facebook.“

This poses the question, is Facebook becoming obsolete in today’s social media stratosphere? People are complaining about the constant changes that Facebook is making. Not to mention that for those who don’t use Facebook to play games, the game requests can get overwhelming.

Another reader responded by saying:

“It’s a little plastic over on Facebook. I found there were a lot of very unhappy people on Facebook trying to make everyone think they were happy.“

How you do you feel about this statement? Do you feel that Facebook is an outlet for people to make themselves look better than what they are or pretend to be happy when they really aren’t? Even if they are pretending does it really matter?

For those who are in the public eye, is Facebook getting away from really making those connections with your audience? One reader thought so and stated:

” I do find that it is much easier to be myself on G+. The majority of my friends on FB I don’t even know, as they added me because I was in the public eye. Here I can pick the people that either 1) I agree with and appreciate, or 2) at least find interesting despite their beliefs and opinions. I’ve hidden so many feeds on FB, I’m surprised the window even scrolls anymore.“

So the question still stands, is Facebook beginning to become obsolete? Let me know your thoughts?

The world is a buzz when it comes to social media. So many people want to get on the social media train but they approach it the wrong way. They immediately want to begin to start posting items and gaining “likes”, fans and linkbacks. However, if social media is not done properly it will not be effective and that’s just a waste of your time.

For those beginning with social media, knowing what to say and post can be difficult. What’s the answer? Listen. Your target audience is the group that you need to be listening to. After all it’s their business that you’re trying to gain. Listen to what they want and need when it comes to your products and services and then build upon that. If you’re posting information that is of no relevance to your target audience then what is the point of the posts?

This video emphasizes the importance of listening to your audience when it comes to social media.

If you are running a business then you want to make sure you have a Facebook account for your business and a separate account for your personal life. You don’t want to mix the two.

Business accounts are designed for those who basically want to administer pages and ad campaigns. A Facebook business account differs from a personal account in a few ways:

Business accounts are for those who want to administer the business page and ad campaigns versus really socializing or friending people.

Business accounts are reduced in functionality versus personal accounts.

Business accounts can view the ads and pages that they are administering but they cannot view the profiles of the users on the site.

Business accounts cannot be found in Facebook search.

Business accounts also can not send or receive friend requests.

Facebook business accounts are easy to set up. You could literally be up and running in no time. Are you ready to learn more about Facebook business accounts/pages? If so then click here. Then when you are ready to setup a page you can get started here.

It’s no secret that Google developed Google+ as a way to rival Facebook. So how do they compare? Well in all actuality they do not compare. While they may seem similar in nature they are two totally different platforms. So then why set up a Google+ Page? Well the obvious would be to take advantage of Google’s SEO aspect but you also want to hit that target demographic that just avoids Facebook as much as possible. With so many Facebook changes, and not all of them positive, some people are avoiding Facebook like the plague.

While people on Facebook “like” a page. The truth is people get busy and eventually you can forget about that page and it will disappear into the abyss. So unless you intentionally seek that page out again on a consistent basis you won’t remain on top of hat’s going on with them. That’s a lot of time devoted to searching your favorite pages. Not to mention it seems that many people are losing faith in Facebook and consider it going downhill just as MySpace seemed to fade into the background.

It seems that Google+ and LinkedIn are actually advancing in the public persona over Facebook. There is comparison between Facebook and Google+ pages. Each has their own pluses and minuses but Google+ is starting to gain momentum with the business sector as a more “professional” networking platform.

Be sure to remember to separate your personal Google+ profile and your Google+ business page. You don’t want to accidentally post content meant for your personal profile on your business page. With the Google +1 button you can gain momentum and exposure. Combine that with a badge and you are set.

Businesses are finding Google+ a diamond in the rough. While they are working out the kinks and adding new developments you just need to roll with it but you can’t do that if you don’t set up your profile and page. You don’t know how well it works until you try it.

Google+ is becoming more popular with each passing day. Now with Google+ Page for businesses, many are excited about the possibilities for connecting and networking with others. Google+ Pages can be a powerful marketing tool for your business. Setting up your business page can be confusing but if you want to make the most out of this page then keep these things in mind:

Remember that your Google+ page needs to integrate with your Google account. So if you have a separate Google account for your business then use that one and not your personal one to connect to your Google+ business page.

During the sign up process you will need to have two of these three things: valid telephone number, your location and a profile phot or logo.

Be sure you are signed into your Google account and then go to https://plus.google.com/pages/create. Once there click on ”Create a Google+ page”.

You will then need to select the correct category for your business from one of the following: Local Business or Place, Product or Brand, Company, Institution or Organization, Arts, Entertainment or Sports, and Other. Then hit the “Create” button.

You will then be able to create a tagline of 10 words describes your business and add a profile photo or graphic.

This is all is takes to set up a “basic” Google+ Page. However, as a business you want to maximize your profile and exposure on Google+ so remember:

Increase your exposure by adding a +1 button on your site. This allows people to vote on you.

The search box of the Google+ platform is an easy way for people to find you “if” they know your name or keyword. This is called “Direct Connect”. You will know if a page is a “direct connect” page as the page tagline and graphic will show in the drop down menu. However with so many business pages not all pages will show up in the drop down menu. Just like moving up in the search engines, you want to move up in the Google+ search as well. You can do this by:

Once your page is set up you will be given the option to share it. So make sure your profile is ready to go and share it.

Again be sure to set up a +1 button on all your sites, Then let everyone know about your +1 button. The +1 buttons are easy to install with the javascript code provided and then customizing it and placing it on our site. The +1 is a great way to gain exposure as it shows others what’s interesting. So if someone +1′s a post you made then it signals that he post was interesting to them and others should take notice as well.

You’ll then want to enable Google+ Circles.Circles are becoming a very important part of Google+ so be sure to have these activated. You can do this by going to your account settings and selecting Google+ and then customizing your Google+ Pages settings. Quick and easy.

Create a badge for your page. You can do this at the time you create your page or just enter your URL into the box provided to create a badge. This is not a +1 button but a unique badge you can post on your sites to increase exposure.

Google has already stated that in order to achieve high “direct connect” status that it is based upon page relevance and popularity based on the number of links between your site and Google+ page. So in order to move up the ranks be sure to:

Interact regularly via Google+. So this means have relevant links, posts and keywords. Make sure the content is valuable in nature and original.

Last but not least, PROMOTE YOUR GOOGLE+ PAGE! Add fresh content often, link it to your AdWords campaigns if you are using them. Just promote, promote, promote. The more people who know about your Google+ page the better. If you use these simple steps you will have a great Google+ experience and you’ll be able to maximize your experience. This is a powerful marketing tool just waiting for you to take advantage of it.
