Introduced in June 2012, about all “tailored trends” has accomplished is mass confusion. Here’s how to turn them off:

1) Click the “change” link next to “trends”

2) Click “Change” again to confirm that you would like to disable tailored trends.

3) Select a location and click “done.”

You have now disabled tailored trends and won’t find yourself tweeting about “trending topics” that aren’t actually trending.

Here’s a video of Eddie Slaughter, a black farmer, discussing the Pigford scandal and his ongoing problems with the USDA.

Andrew Breitbart led the charge to expose this fraud, and was smeared in the media for his efforts. Lee Stranahan, who also did pioneering work in this investigation has continued the investigation for Breitbart.com.

Three days ago, on 25 April 2013, 2 years 2 months 16 days after Eddie Slaughter’s CPAC speech, 2 years 5 months 5 days after Rep. Michele Bachmann penned a guest post at Breitbart.com asking congress to investigate Pigford before funding it, and nearly 3 years after Andrew Breitbart began investigating the case, the New York Times finally conceded he was right, Pigford is rife with fraud.

On the heels of the Supreme Court’s ruling, interviews and records show, the Obama administration’s political appointees at the Justice and Agriculture Departments engineered a stunning turnabout: they committed $1.33 billion to compensate not just the 91 plaintiffs but thousands of Hispanic and female farmers who had never claimed bias in court.

The deal, several current and former government officials said, was fashioned in White House meetings despite the vehement objections — until now undisclosed — of career lawyers and agency officials who had argued that there was no credible evidence of widespread discrimination. What is more, some protested, the template for the deal — the $50,000 payouts to black farmers — had proved a magnet for fraud.

Andrew Breitbart and Lee Stranahan did great work bringing this case to light. The NY Times, however reluctantly and late, granted it investigative resources and front page space. Now it’s time to keep the momentum going. May 1st is the deadline for new claimants to file their paperwork and start down the path to a $50,000 gift from taxpayers. It’s time taxpayers were informed of their generosity.

The thinking, as we’ve been reporting, is that this is a domestic extremist attack, and officials are leaning that way largely because of the timing of the attack. April is a big month for anti-government and right-wing individuals. There’s the Columbine anniversary; there’s Hitler’s birthday; there’s the Oklahoma City bombing, the assault on the Branch Dividian compound in Waco.”

A barrel shroud is a piece that surrounds the barrel of a firearm. It’s primary purpose is to provide a cooler surface which the person using the firearm can hold to stabilize the firearm. Not only does this feature have no impact on the lethality of the firearm, the definition in the legislation was written so poorly, it could have been construed to include handgun slides.

More importantly, this video demonstrates that the lawmaker crafting the legislation was flying blind, and lacked even the most elementary understanding of the very thing she sought to regulate.

Rep Carolyn McCarthy, the ignorant legislator in the video, continues to serve in Congress. She has been re-elected three times by New Yorkers since this incident. McCarthy was first elected to the US House in 1997.

JOE BIDEN: And lastly, but not least, the Assault Weapons ban and the limitation on the size of magazines, let me say this as clearly as I can: this is just the beginning. We believe that weapons of war have no place on our streets. That’s the message that the retired admirals and generals have spoken to us about. The comment one of them used was: if you want to learn how to use a semi-automatic weapon, join the United States military, but these are weapons of war, and we believe there’s no rational reason why someone would need a clip that can hold fifteen, twenty, thirty, one-hundred bullets, one-hundred rounds. We have to do more and we will do more.

In an interview with Field & Stream magazine, Vice President Joe Biden remarked that a “shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” On the same day the interview was published, a Virginia man was charged with reckless handling of a firearm after he fired a shotgun at intruders through his closed bedroom door.

In North Carolina, taking the Vice President’s advice could soon become a Class E Felony. North Carolina Senate Bill 124, introduced by Republican Senators Peter S. Brunstetter and Norman W. Sanderson would specifically outlaw the discharge of “a firearm within any building, structure, motor vehicle, or other conveyance, erection, or enclosure with the intent to do harm or incite fear.”

North Carolina’s sentencing guidelines specify a minimum 15 month “intermediate punishment” for Class E felonies and a maximum of up to 63 months in prison.

A companion bill in the NC House, also sponsored exclusively by Republican legislators, has not yet advanced out of committee.

Supporters of the bill claim the city lacks the expertise to manage the growing airport, and believe the Charlotte airport “will be more efficiently run under an appointed, self-regulating authority with no ties to the city.”

Airport Director Jerry Orr supports the plan, as reported by the Charlotte Observer:

 Charlotte Douglas aviation director Jerry Orr, 71, who could retire soon, has suggested that he would welcome authority oversight. Relations between Orr and city staff have been strained over questions about supervision and airport security.

The Charlotte airport has been managed by the city since it opened in 1936.  The proposal to transition control to Raleigh has been actively opposed by city officials.  Democrat Mayor Anthony Foxx and Councilman Andy Dulin travelled to Raleigh to voice their opposition and request further study of the impact a takeover would have on the airport and its operations.
