The New Mass Effect 2 DLC Will Be Called “Kasumi’s Stolen Memory”

After releasing the free Arc Projector Mass Effect 2 DLC a couple of days ago through the Cerberus Network, Bioware has announced that the first piece of paid downloadable content will be called “Kasumi’s Stolen Memory”.

This DLC will add a female thief to commander’s Shepard team. The projected release date for the new Mass Effect 2 DLC is April 6^th for both PC and Xbox 360.

Kasumi? Is that You?

The players will be able to recruit Kasumi from the Citadel no matter if they’ve finished the main story or not. Like it was the case with the other fellow recruits, before Kasumi can become an integral part of the team she has to be helped by good ol’ Shepard on a recovery mission.

The “Kasumi’s Stolen Memory” DLC will also pack the Locust SMG and a new Achievement. The DLC’s story will probably take around an hour and a half to complete.

The price the gamers will pay in order to download this new mini-episode in the saga that is Mass Effect hasn’t been determined yet.

New Medal of Honor Screenshots Revealed, Greg Goodrich Interview

The latest entry in the Medal of Honor series is being developed by EA Los Angeles and DICE. The game will be a reboot of the series and, for the first time in the franchise’s history, the World War 2 is being left behind in favor of a modern setting – the war torn Afghanistan.

As it was revealed a few months ago, the game will use not one but two game engines. The single player campaign will be powered by a highly modified Unreal 3 Engine while the multiplayer aspect of the game will use the Frostbite Engine of Bad Company fame. What is that translating into? Just in your ordinary, everyday TOTAL destruction of the battlefield (at least in multiplayer). Also the use of both engines is a guarantee that the graphics will be really top notch (as we can easily see from the Medal of Honor screenshots revealed so far).

The Medal of Honor series gets a reboot.

In the single-player campaign, the gamers will play from the perspective of multiple characters from the ranks of Tier 1 Operatives within Afghanistan.

The game’s developers have stated multiple times that they’re going for an authentic experience, trying to differentiate the new Medal of Honor game from the blockbuster feel one of its direct competitors (read Modern Warfare 2) is so famous about.

Seeing that Modern Warfare 2 is still going strong and that Bad Company 2 was just released it seems that, when Medal of Honor will arrive on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 (probably sometime during Fall 2010), the gaming industry will have a triple threat match on its hands: Modern Warfare 2 vs. Bad Company 2 vs. Medal of Honor.

Extensive Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC Plan, EA Master Server Down

Eric Brown, EA’s chief financial officer, has stated today that the company is having an extensive Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC plan. The game will receive multiple packs of $5, $10 and $15 over the next six months.

The first Bad Company 2 DLC was released for free on March 2^nd, simultaneous with the game’s launch in North America. This map pack featured the Nelson Bay map playable in Rush Mode and the Laguna Alta map playable in conquest mode.

Today DICE announced that the release date for the second Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC (or Map Pack) is March 30. The guys at DICE have taken a jab at the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 DLC, via Twitter, inviting players to avoid “mapathy” and to check out a couple of screenshots taken from this month’s Bad Company 2 DLC, that will also be free of charge.

For those of you that don’t know yet, “mapathy” is the term used by Infinity Ward and Activision for promoting the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC (that’s also coming out on March 30).

The second Bad Company 2 DLC will feature the Arica Harbor map playable in Conquest Mode and the Laguna Presa map playable in Rush mode.

DICE Executive Producer KM Troedsson didn’t lose the opportunity to underline the way they’re supporting their product as opposed to direct competition (Modern Warfare 2) : “We’re dedicated to taking care of this product for a long time – helping you avoid ‘mapathy’ without getting nickel-and-dimed“.

It seems that we have a real Bad Company 2 vs Modern Warfare 2 dispute going on.

But, sadly, not everything is ‘peachy’ in Battlefield Bad Company 2 land. Just like a few days ago when an outage affected most of the EA’s games, last night the EA Master Server went down again. The players reported that the outage lasted somewhere around 2 hours.

And even though DICE stated via Twitter that the R6 version of the PC Server, which was supposed to stop all the PB INIT errors, was distributed to the server providers, players are still complaining on various forums that they are encountering Bad Company 2 Disconnects.

Also the missing-in-action Battlefield Bad Company 2 Four Pack has yet to be found.

iPhone OS 4.0 Getting Expose-like Multitasking This Summer?

One of the reasons why many people skip past Apple’s iPhone is multitasking. I like to play games on mute, while listening to music and if someone calls me then I won’t freakin’ lose everything. There are other situations as well and you know about. Thing is that iPhone OS supports multitasking, only that Apple blocks it for security reasons (they say). According to trusted sources, this thing is about to change this summer when iPhone OS 4.0 will finally get the multitasking it deserves.

Although iPhone OS 4.0 wasn’t officially announced, you don’t have to be a genius to think that Apple will update the firmware on the iPhone. Apparently, this won’t be conventional multitasking like found on most phone including some Android phones, it will resemble Expose. You know Expose? Or the new HTC Sense UI with helicoper view? Then you probably know how multitasking will look like on the iPhone.

Multitasking will be welcomed by most iPhone users and it better be good, and I don’t know what’s better than this concept. Oh, I think iPad users will definitely enjoy multitasking. I mean… it’s a computer and multitasking is one of the basic feature on such devices!
