Mass Effect 2 Firewalker DLC Release Date Revealed

The second free Mass Effect 2 DLC that will be launched this month, after the “Arc Projector” DLC that was live on March 9^th, is the “Firewalker Pack”.

The Mass Effect 2 Firewalker DLC will be launched through the game’s Cerberus Network and will feature the 57 Hammerhead Heavy Assault Hover. Along with Mako’s replacement, the Mass Effect 2 Firewalker DLC will introduce 5 missions specially designed to be played with the hover-tank.

Hammerhead is being described by the developers as a heavy assault vehicle that hovers at up to 120 km/h (75 mp/h) and features a guided missile system.

The Mass Effect 2 Firewalker DLC release date is March 23^rd.

Bear in mind that membership to the Cerberus Network is free only if you’ve buyed the game new. Otherwise, access to the network costs $15.

Mass Effect 2 is being heavily supported by Bioware in terms of downloadable content. After March’s free Mass Effect 2 DLCs, the game will receive the first paid DLC on April 6^th called “Kasumi’s Stolen Memory”.

When Sony released the PS3 Slim Microsoft cried a little bit as their Xbox 360 sales somehow went down therefore the Redmond-based company has to come up with something to boost sales. The solution to this problem is to provide USB storage support for all Xbox 360 users. According to a leaked Microsoft document, a new Xbox firmware update will be released in the Spring of 2010 and it’s coming packed with USB mass storage mode support so that you can play games from an external hard-drive.

This will be a great addition as you will have enough space to download your favorite games, DLCs, demos, and whatever that can be ran from an external storage drive. The document says that this drive must have more than 1GB of space as it requires a system partition sized at 512MB. Vernal Equinox 2010 Represents The First Day Of Spring And It’s Almost Here

Although March 1st is considered the beginning of spring, truth is that the spring begins when the annual vernal equinox occurs and that day is almost here. This “astronomical event” occurs two times per year on March 20th or March 21st and on September 22nd or September 23rd. The vernal equinox 2010 will happen tomorrow, March 20, at the exact hour of 17:32 and it represents the time when the axis of Earth is straight, meaning that it’s not inclined towards or away from the Sun.

An equinox marks a day in the year when the daylight is equal with the night meaning that we have 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. During an equinox, the Sun is above the Equator and it finds itself at one opposite point in the celestial sphere (the point where the ecliptic intersects wit the celestial equator).

The actual word “equinox” comes from Latin aequus=equal and nox=night. Like aforementioned, the day equals the night. Whoosh! I was waiting for this for a long, long time. The summer is near and I cannot wait for it!

HP Slate Gets A Release Date And Price: June For €400

The HP Slate was spotted numerous times and for a second there we were fooled and thought that this is the dual-screen Microsoft Courier. Um, well, we were wrong and the HP Slate is just another Windows 7 tablet. Or is it? According to a Spanish website, the HP Slate features an Intel Atom processor, Adobe Flash Player support, multimedia card reader, USB ports, and a webcam mounted on the back. The same site claims that HP will release the Slate sometime in June for the price of €400 or $546 .

That’s not too expensive if you are clever enough to another a tablet that actually has computer capabilities rather than Apple’s iPad. The HP Slate will come with a capacitive touchscreen with multitouch and my guess is that browsing on this beauty will be absolutely great. HP’s problem is that the iPad is coming in April, while the Slate has a few months behind Apple’s latest jewel. The war is on folks and things will heat up once Microsoft Courier gets a release date, official specs, and pricing details.

Heroes of Newerth is the newest production of S2 Games that re-creates the authentic feel of DotA and has the graphics to bring the spark of life right back into this game. With the blessing of IceFrog, the main contributor to the DotA community, HoN has kept much of the interface and gameplay, adding only good things to the concept.

For those who are not familiarized with the DotA gameplay, Heroes of Newerth is a great place to start. There are 2 main factions, the Legion and the Hellbourne, that battle each other, with the help of unique heroes. At the start of the game, the player can choose his hero and, along a maximum of 4 other teammates, try to destroy the other faction main base (its throne). The only thing standing against fulfilling your goal is the enemies creeps (non-controllable units that are automatically generated and become more powerful as the game advances) and of course, other heroes.

You can choose from 60+ heroes ( soon to be 70), most of them resurrected from the DotA chambers, and advance in level to increase your stats (Agility, Strength, and Intelligence) or your level of unique spells. Those combined with a large scale of items, both from the original game and some new added, make up the recipe for a successful game. The additions that differentiate Heroes of Newerth from DotA are non-gameplay features such as tracking of individual statistics, in-game VOIP, and GUI-streamlined hero selection.

The game also has some features not present in Warcraft III, such as full friends list, ban-list, and clan support, complete replay system, as well as ability to reconnect to games if you get disconnected. HoN is still in the closed beta phase, in which you need an original Heroes of Newerth beta key to join 1 million players online.
