One of the best things about having daughters is getting to dress them up in adorable clothes. And any princess dress warrants a grand introduction that consists of me announcing their presence to anyone who happens to be visiting at the moment. Even if we have no visitors, they still need an introduction and I must be sure to give them applause as they make their grand entrance. Dramatic? Yes. After being cooped up in the apartment for the majority of the day, the girls were begging me to go outside and pick some flowers. Anytime we take Bella for a walk, they must stop to pick flowers. every. single. time. So I took advantage of the great weather, their cute outfits and snapped some great pics of the girls. All on manual. Go me!

While picking flowers, Selene spotted a ladybug. It took Soleil about half a second to find it after that. Me, on the other hand? Took me forever. The girls were all Right there, mommy! A ladybug! I seriously thought they were imagining things, until my nearly 30-year-old eyes spotted this…

So I’m thinking of it. I have an amazing friend on Facebook, a used-to-be blogger, who committed to a 90-day challenge and lost over 50 lbs. She looks fabulous and she’s really inspiring me to just get up off my arse and work to lose the weight.

I’ve signed up for challenges before, but truth be told, I never prepared myself for one. I merely signed up thinking I would do the workouts and lose weight. WRONG. This time around I’m going to be more prepared. I’m going to schedule my workouts and set up meal plans. I’m going to force myself out of bed every morning and just do it!

I’m going to be 30 in September. Yikes! 30! I refuse to celebrate my birthday at my current weight. I refuse to start my 30th year still trying to lose weight. I plan to celebrate my 30th birthday at least 30 lbs lighter than I am today. I will start my 30th year already losing weight and be well on my way to becoming the person I want to be.

I frequently post on Facebook the cute and funny things the girls say. And since I’m not friends with all my readers on Facebook, I decided to post here for your reading pleasure.

Our power went out the other night and little Selene was scared…
Soleil: B-Bel (nickname for Selene) don’t be scared. I ‘tect you. Mommy and daddy ‘tect you. Dear God ‘tect you.
Then 10 mins later…
Selene: Mommy, don’t worry! I ‘tect you!

Soleil: I don’t like babies. Babies make me sick.

Soleil: Mommy, you need to go potty and you need to wash your hands. And then you can play with the toys.

Soleil: Mommy, there’s something wrong with my teeth.
Me: What’s wrong with your teeth?
Soleil: The ladybug left garbage in my teeth. I need to go to the dentist. And then I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth.

Me: Lola is gonna stop by. So you can show her your pretty princess dresses.
Soleil: let’s do it! ::whispers:: Break it down.

Soleil: Mommy, Mommy! Guess what!
Me: What?!?
Soleil: Mommy and Daddy get married. And Nona and Papa get married. You both get married.
Me: You’re right.
Soleil: Yeah, that’s it. And I love mommy. I love daddy. I love Papa. I love Nona. I love B-bel. I love Baby Eva. And I love Dear God.

Soleil: Mom, the twins are eating all the goldfish.
Me: The twins?!?
Soleil: Yeah, they’re eating all the goldfish.
Me: Who are the twins?
Soleil: B-bel and Finn (her sis and cousin). I angry at twins.
Me: Why are you angry at the twins?
Soleil: I don’t like twins!

Soleil: Mommy, STOP! Mommy, stop! I wanna tell you something… Boys have hair and girls have a nose.

Selene: Mommy, touch your boo-boob. Nice and warm.

Soleil: Mommy, you’re pretty like a dolphin!
