My Billbergia Nutans (a.k.a. Queen’s Tears). This is a tough plant; it survived the hostile environment of my apartment for the last year and still had the energy to bloom.

Finding Interesting Fractals in Fractal Explorer

This tutorial offers one approach to creating a fractal with fractal explorer. It should be fairly easy to follow even for beginners (let me know if it isn’t).

Feel free to wander off on your own path at any point in the tutorial. Your fractal may look different than the one shown in the tutorial; this is absolutely fine. You’ll need to have fractal explorer (it’s free!) before getting started.

I originally wrote this tutorial in 2003 or 2004. I’ve made a few updates so that it can be followed easily with Bryce 6. It’s a relatively basic tutorial with some advanced tips thrown in.

Bryce Tutorials Will Return Soon

I will be reposting two of my older Bryce tutorials (abstracts and photo textures), and my Fractal Explorer tutorial soon (~~before March 2009~~… by April? … anyone care?).

Currently I’m updating the screenshots and verifying that the Bryce tutorials are compatible with Bryce 6. My Vue and WorldBuilder tutorials will not be returning.
