Frank Kozik, best know for his work on cover art for bands like Nirvana, RHCP and Pearl Jam has collaborated with Nike SB on a pair of SB Dunk high. The shoes house a military inspired colorway complete with orange inner lining and weather proof upper and Kozik printed along the heel. No word on a release date, check back for more details.

Nike Sportswear has displayed an uncanny ability to turn the most technical and unflattering of shoes into perfect lifestyle kicks. A perfect example of this, the Nike MayFly- a track and filed shoe stripped down to the skin (Tyvek Material, actually) only to give runners an advantage.

Built for distance runners, the Nike Mayfly weighed in at a incredibly light 4.8oz, but these NSW renditions opt for a more luxurious casual approach as evidenced by the suede accents and one feature that never fails to denote a premium release: a Caramel Leather sockliner.

If Versace’s latest collection unveiled at Milan Fashion Week is anything to go by, men’s fashion could be about to explode at the seams with colour. Floral suits (yes, really), 80s-style neon patterns, gold-studded denim, leather and faux fur trench coats were the order of the day on the catwalk. Forget pinstripe fashion, this nostalgic return to the late 80s is very much a contemporary take on punk eras of old, with a bit of Mod culture thrown in. Slick back hair, silk suits and boots worn over trousers displaying larger-than-life patterns – is this the future of men’s’ fashion? Unlikely, thank goodness. These exotically-themed costumes are more likely to be seen on stage than on the high street. Perhaps the odd celeb will don themselves in Versace neon-bling, but the majority of male fashionistas are far more likely to prefer the collections from Calvin Klein, Gucci and Giorgio Armani, whose designs are more relevant to the workplace.

The new collection from Dolce & Gabbana, however, appears to be a happy medium between the two fashion extremes, boasting burgundy velvet suits, baroque gold appliqué jackets and studded boots. Stefano Gabbana told The Telegraph that their latest collection was a nod towards the current financial crisis (by virtue of it being seemingly ‘low key’) and, at the same time, an escape from it, too. “The situation in the world is not so good,” acknowledged Stefano at the show. “So what we can do as designers is give people something to dream of.”

For those wanting something truly low-key yet fashionable, rugged Timberland boots worn with Levis denim or even Dolce & Gabbana’s own designer jeans, can recreate the high street version of the latest catwalk look. Fred Perry shirts for men are also highly fashionable, and unlike the eccentric Versace designs of bright, bold patterns that’ll certainly make an impact on stage, this short-sleeved range of casual-smart shirts are suitable for just about any occasion. Musicians Paul Weller and Damon Albarn are both Fred Perry fans, whilst footballer David Beckham and American rapper Pharrell Williams are well known wearers of Timberland boots.  Taking their lead, it just goes to show that you don’t have to always wear “out-there” fashions to get noticed.

Ebay selller Pewterusa is having the best pay day ever currently housing a $26,000+ bid on a pair of Galaxy Foams. Now i’ll admit to paying a couple of hundred bucks over retail, but this is nothing short of insanity. I can’t be sure how legit these bids are, but if they are. I hope the people paying happen to live in solid gold mansions, and have haven’t seen their bank accounts have less then 3 decimal points in the past 4 years. On another note, how do you feel about resellers? is it getting out of hand? and is there anyway to control it?

Today we get a look a the latest collaboration from Ronnie Fieg and Asics. Straying away from his normal Gel Lyte 3, Ronnie utilizes the Asics GT-II silhouette. Ronnie opted to give the shoe a Rose suede build with contrasting grey elements. more info to follow soon.

As of 10:45 am a series of FootLocker House of Hoops stores from Virginia down to Florida have gone ahead and cancelled this weekends huge release line up due to safety concerns. Situations like this make it really easy to point the finger at Nike, since they’re the ones behind the shoe, and that have history with chaotic releases (Concords anyone?) but what about retailers?. There are tons of stores that don’t really care about consumer safety especially ones located in malls that have mall security. I’m wondering if Mall locations had maybe a better distribution system (i.e wrist bands days before/Raffle system) big launches would be a little less chaotic and a little more organized.

I’m not saying every location that cancelled didn’t have a system in place, but if you distribute bands days in advance then the night before the launch only allow those into the building/store maybe problems could be avoided. I understand and appreciate Footlockers concern, Past big name releases have been the catalyst behind injury and robbery. Makes you wonder how worth-it is having the most exclusive kicks day one, or at all.

Just a few days ago we got a look at the “Tour” Supra Skytop 3. Today we get to see three more renditions of the Skytop 3 all set for the Spring 2012 season. First up is a bright red rendition complete with yellow details. The second pair owns a black tumbled leather upper with red details along the midsole, inner lining and waxed laces. The third and final pair may be the most eye catching of the bunch with its tonal canvas construction and black and white details. Find all three including the “Tour” edition over at size?
