Firooz Zahedi (born on 1949) is an American photographer of Iranian descent.Zahedi was born in Iran, but moved to London at the age of ten. At the age of twenty, he moved to the US, where he is living until now. He started his study at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He served as a diplomat for a while after graduation, but it was his passion in art that led him to Corcoran School of Art. He became friend with Andy Warhol and Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor invited him to be her personal photographer on her film projects. He subsequently moved to Los Angeles, and started his professional career as a photographer.

An Italian artist going by the name of Dito Von Tease has created “Ditology”, a project where portraits of famous people, real or fictional, are featured on human fingers. "Dito" translates to "finger” in Italian.

It all started when Dito Von Tease, 33, was looking for an original avatar to use as his profile picture on Facebook. He chose a finger as a disguise because he was not keen on revealing his identity.

“In Italian, someone could say I wanted to “hide myself behind my finger”. It’s a metaphor to indicate a not-very-effective hiding place,” said the artist.
His art features the likes of Steve Jobs, Dalai Lama, Gaddafi, Jesus, Spock and many others.

World's Oldest Woman Misao Okawa

At the age of 115 years, 65 days, Okawa is the 2nd oldest living person in the world behind 116-year-old Japanese man Jiroemon Kimura. She is the third oldest verified Japanese person ever, the 30th verified person to reach the age of 115, the 24th oldest verified person ever, and the last verified living person born in 1898.

Okawa was born on March 5, 1898, in the Tenma district (present-day Kita-ku) of Osaka, and now lives at a nursing home in Higashisumiyoshi-ku, Osaka. She married in 1919 to her husband Yukio, and had three children, two daughters and a son, of whom, as of February 2013, her son and 1 daughter are still alive, both over the age of 90. She has 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

On February 27, 2013, a few days before her 115th birthday, Misao Okawa was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living woman in the world, and was presented with a certificate at her nursing home in Osaka.

Photographer Ireneusz Waldzik, who shot the highly detailed macro images, says: "I love macro photography, I spend a lot of time at it and the colors and different shapes of insects eyes fascinates me. It's important for them to show bright and colorful markings, they might be small but they have a big impact."

Girls of Comiket (Comic Market)

Comiket was founded in 1975 by Yoshihiro Yonezawa and a circle of friends, including Teruo Harada and Jun Aniwa, while they were studying at Meiji University. Comiket is the world's largest dōjinshi fair, held twice a year in Tokyo, Japan. The first Comiket was held on December 21, 1975, with only about 32 participating circles and an estimated 600 attendees. Attendance has since swelled to over a half million people. It is a grassroots, DIY effort for selling dōjinshi, self-published Japanese works. As items sold in Comiket are considered very rare (because dōjinshi are seldom reprinted), some items sold at Comiket can be found in shops or on the Internet at prices up to 10 times the item's original price, and in certain cases, more than 100 times. The continuing operation of Comiket is the responsibility of the Comic Market Preparatory Committee (ComiketPC).
