Colombia Travel Advice & Activity Guide

Author: Tom Fisher

,Colombia travel advice seekers should be prepared for a sensory assault that will entice and thrill visitors. Columbia has a great deal of diverse attractions and activities, with two coasts facing the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It has everything from deserts to glaciers, steaming rainforests, secluded islands, pristine beaches and modern cities.

Western tourists and visitors will probably want to fly in by plane to Bogota, which is the capital. Depending on the itinerary, it’s also possible to hop over by plane to other destinations like Cartagena, Cali or San Andres. Visitors entering from Ecuador or Venezuela can come in by bus or car, and those coming from Panama can take a boat.

In terms of safety, the country is a whole lot better now. All the metropolitan areas are just as safe (or not) for tourists as any other city anywhere else in Central and South America. Just take common precautions such as not heading off alone into isolated regions, and try to stay away from unfriendly neighborhoods after dark.

The real draw for visitors is the variety of the destinations and the natural beauty. The choices range from Bogota’s flesh pots to the Salsa clubs in Cali and the Carnival in Barranquilla, among others. Visitors can spend many days & weeks enjoying all this, not to mention the tropical rainforests, majestic humpback whales in the Pacific, and the pristine beaches and coral reefs near Caribbean coast islands like San Andres, Santa Catalina and Providencia.

In fact, scuba diving in these reefs is one of the top attractions for visitors from every corner of the world. In addition to the aforementioned Caribbean islands, there are dive spots just as good on the Pacific coast too. Let’s take a look at which destinations on both coasts are good for visitors where scuba diving can be combined with a holiday and sight-seeing.

San Andres and Providencia probably offer the most popular dive spots on the Caribbean coast. Isla Gorgona and Malpelo Island on the Pacific Coast are quite famous and popular among both tourists and expert divers. Visitors need to choose from amongst these locations based on their taste for adventure, diving skill and travel logistics.

For instance, San Andres is 700 km from the mainland but has an airport. Another advantage is that scuba divers get to explore dive sites in Santa Catalina and Providencia too, since the long coral reef straddles all three of these places. Logistics and tourist attractions aside, the main reason why the dive sites here are so popular is simply because of the variety of marine life, evidenced by the fact that San Andres is famed for its ‘sea of 7 colors.’

Pacific coast divers at spots near Malpelo Island or Isla Gorgona tend to be more adventurous. A trip here involves a flight to Guapi from Cali, followed by a boat ride to the island. Crystal clear and cold waters await divers, along with whale sharks and hammerheads. Isla Gorgona is an especially tourist-friendly place with nature tours, whale watching and beaches, and a history as an old prison island like Alcatraz.

To end this healthy dose of Colombia travel advice on a general note, visitors are advised to consider longer stays. It’s not possible to drive-thru or jump from one airport to another over a quick weekend. Every destination has to be considered as a mini vacation by itself that needs to be explored and enjoyed at its own sweet pace.

A short HD video clip of a 2 hour movie that I filmed in France, Italy and Gran Canaria. This is a short HD video trailer of my latest 2- hour movie GLOBETROTTER CARP QUEST. (Click on 720P setting for HD). I poured my passion and soul into this film, and so is on a more personal level than previous movies. Even though it contains plenty of technical angling advice and also footage of some huge carp, I also wanted to not dwell too much on weights and size of the fish, but more on the true passion for fishing in wild waters and amazing landscapes. This is the 5th film in the highly acclaimed GlobetrotterWorld series and is now available as a special 2-disc DVD set. Filmed by ‘Globetrotter’ – Tony Davies-Patrick in very high quality 16:9 Widescreen, this movie covers Carp Adventures in many lakes across France, Italy and Gran Canaria. Filled to the brim with stunning landscapes, spectacular underwater footage and explosive action sequences, this movie captures the true passion and spirit of adventure Please note: This video clip has been uploaded via mobile phone connection and so does not reflect the much higher quality of the original footage in the movie.
Save $$ And Time On A Disney World Vacation – Ultimate Planning Guide

Seychelles Travel Advice And Tips

Author: Tom Fisher

Seeking out expert Seychelles travel advice is an absolute must for the ordinary visitor. This doesn’t just mean finding out more about the local culture, tipping rules or climate. This is a very different type of paradise, as compared to other world-famous island holiday destinations. Seychelles is a 115 island archipelago northeast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, 932 miles from the African continent.

For starters, visitors need to have a confirmed hotel booking when they arrive. It’s not considered good form to simply fly in and go backpacking around without a place to stay. Secondly, only some of the islands have facilities for visitors such as hotels and resorts.

The main tourist hotspots with all kinds of facilities for visitors are the islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. What they do have in plenty are some truly sublime beaches, and a host of activities and things to do for visitors on the waterfront, in the water and out at sea. This includes fishing/boat charters and scuba diving, both of which are extremely popular here.

The capital city of Victoria is on Mahe, which put together with the other main Granitic Inner Islands of Praslin and La Digue, just about makes up the country’s entire population. Victoria is famous for its nightlife, dining, shopping and other urban experiences for tourists. It also has many fine hotels.

Resorts are a lot more spread out all over the islands. The three main islands mentioned above obviously have a large number of resorts. For those who prefer an isolated getaway, many of the islands here are completely uninhabited with no human presence except for one resort, a dock and a private airstrip for small planes to transport resort staff and guests.

It is also better to have a specific boat charter plan ready for deep sea fishing, marine tours, sailing and other such activities. For instance, one choice could be a catamaran that can easily take 15 to 20 people out to sea for a day or half-day trip. Other than deep sea and big game fishing, passengers can enjoy island hopping, swim with sea turtles, go snorkeling and do some bird watching.

Some live-in charter boats offer a stay right over famed scuba diving spots. Seychelles has one of the world’s best dive areas, with plenty of coral reefs, crystal clear waters and all kinds of exotic marine life. Not to mention interesting and historic ship-wreck dive spots. Resorts near the dive spots make it easy with dive shops for gear rental and diving lessons.

Praslin, La Digue and Mahe are the obvious choices for the ordinary traveler who wants to experience scuba diving, considering the well developed facilities near the dive spots at these islands. For adventurers seeking bigger thrills, the islands farther out like Denis Island offer spectacularly deep underwater cliffs. Either way, the best time to enjoy scuba diving here with maximum visibility is either April & May or Oct & Nov.

Summing up all this knowledge into a paragraph of Seychelles travel advice, the most important thing is to plan for everything. Book accommodations beforehand and create a very specific itinerary. The two most important things to do here, other than the beaches, are scuba diving and fishing/ boat charters.

Scuba Diving Trip: Arranging The Perfect Adventure

Author: Andy Guides

You are finally an officially certified diver and you can’t wait to travel to an amazing scuba diving location. How do you begin to plan the trip? Instead of simply writing a check and telling a travel agent to book something for you, why not build your very own adventure from scratch?

Select a location known for great diving. With your budget in mind, decide how far you can afford to fly or drive. Whether driving to a nearby beach resort area or flying to a different hemisphere, you’ll need to spend some time learning about your destination. Discuss locations with the dive staff or club members from the shop or school where you received your certification. Divers love to brag about their scuba exploits and can supply a mountain of information.

Once you know where you are going, decide whether you will bring your own equipment or rent gear on site. Unless you are driving to your location it is usually much easier to simply use rental gear. It may be wise to bring your own mask, as it is small, lightweight, and known to fit well; a leaky mask will ruin any dive! The other things you must take from home are your dive log and proof of certification.

Research the local dive shops or scuba tour groups you will use. Ask for referrals before booking anything! Try to arrange discounts on rental gear for reserving several boat dives. Ask for advice on what dive spots are appropriate for your level of scuba certification.

Find out what lodging options fit your budget and style. Ask about scuba packages that may be available at a preferred rate. Find out if any units have kitchens so that you can save money by preparing a few meals on your own.

Since you won’t spend all your time under water, consider other recreational amenities available such as water sports, tennis courts, golf courses, bike rentals and, of course, a nice beach. Find out what dining options are close to your choice of lodging and whether there are local grocery stores nearby. Decide if you want peace and quiet or exciting nightlife while considering the location of your hotel.

With the planning finished, now you can savor the anticipation of an exciting scuba diving holiday on the horizon. To build confidence, sign up for a refresher course at the dive school if it has been a long time since your last dive. Have a great trip!

St Lucia Travel Advice For Water Activities

Author: Tom Fisher

If you are looking for a place to visit on a vacation then St Lucia is a great island to go to. With all the water around it and the beautiful scenery this is one spot you will not forget. Here is some St Lucia Travel Advice to help you have an adventure of a lifetime.

St Lucia is a volcanic mountainous island located in the Caribbean. There are almost two hundred thousand people that populate the land. This island has mild tropical weather and never gets to freezing temperatures. The locals enjoy tourists coming to visit their land and welcome anyone.

One of the first things you should do while visiting is fishing. Businesses will take you on trips to areas where you can catch some of the biggest fish out there. They will provide you with and great crew and captain that know the best places to go. They are able to teach beginning fisherman to letting the more advance have their way at it. Fishing is great activity to enjoy the ocean and sea life you may not be able to see in other areas.

The next stop on your trip should be scuba diving. If you are already certified then you can book a trip now but if you need to get certified you can do so before coming to the island or sign up for lessons once you get there. Companies will then take you out to swim at many depths of the sea. There are many different types of seal life to explore in this ocean like you may never be able to see unless you are there.

If you are not into scuba diving then snorkeling may be for you. You can purchase your own equipment and do this on your own. Snorkeling just requires a mouth piece and goggles if you want. The mouth piece has a tube that stays above water so you can breath, you cannot go into deep waters like you could in scuba diving. Snorkeling enables you to explore the life that occurs right at sea level and it is a fun activity for all ages.

If you are looking for a calmer environment then consider the many waterfalls the island has. Diamond Botanical Gardens is one of the better ones to see. It is inside the city of Soufriere which is in the Piton Mountains. You can dip your feet or whole body in the mineral water and well as bathe in the waterfall. This area also has changing rooms and a snack shop for your convenience.

The peacefulness you will get from this place is like no other. It will bring you to a calm state and make you forget all your worries. You can put all the stress from your at home life away when you visit this majestic waterfall.

The last stop on your vacation should be a trip around the island on a luxury boat. A yacht is a great choice for doing this. You can hire someone to take you around to the various sites or if you are licensed you can rent one for a day or night. The places the yachts will take you are going to blow your mind and make you pleased that you choose this place to go.

This island of the Caribbean is for anyone who can enjoy the finer things in a vacation. The many water activities will help you make a more memorable trip especially after taking the St Lucia travel advice that was given. Don’t forget the memories you can make and your many future trips to St Lucia.

6 Ways To Get A Job Where You Travel

Author: Tyson Hale

Do you need extra cash while in you’re traveling? Finding a job in a foreign place is not difficult. You just know where to look and be confident and personable!

There are a lot of ways to find temporary jobs for fast cash. You must have a bit of awareness about the culture of the foreign place. Fortunately, most cultures are very hospitable and tend to be helpful to travelers.

First of all, to earn cash while traveling, you must prepare yourself to work hard. Jobs for foreign travelers are usually hard labor or blue collar.

Travel Job Tip #1

You have to determine what type of job you are willing to do. Do you want a job that will pay you for the day’s service? Or do you want something a little longer so you can stay for awhile?

To find these jobs, you must job hunt the area and network with different people – locals or fellow travelers. Be amiable and courteously ask for manual jobs that you may be able do. If they can’t be provided, always ask for places that offer these kinds of jobs for travelers. There is a big chance that there will be offers for travelers in the area.

Travel Job Tip #2

Be on a lookout for short term and seasonal jobs. Every city has these kinds of jobs; from picking fruits to handicraft. This is perfect for backpackers who need an extra buck for their travels. Learning the local culture is very important so you can have grasp about the activities that go on around you.

Travel Job Tip #3

Tending a Hostel or Bar-tending. Hostels, bars, and restaurants may offer temporary jobs. Some, if not most, are not only able to give you shelter for awhile but also provide paying jobs so you can save money for your travels.

Jobs like tending bars, waiting tables, or managing accommodations are waiting to be filled. The best part is that you get to meet and interact with lots of locals and foreigners in the process. The job is usually manual labor but that’s a small price to pay for the chance to extend your travel adventure.

Travel Job Tip #4

Selling possessions. You can sell items for extra cash. While on you travel, you will realize that you will have something you will not really need anymore. You can sometimes sell these things to sustain your travels.

Travel Job Tip #5

Online Job Hunt. As usual, the Internet is always a great help. You can research for job openings online. Project and job hunting sites like Craigslist are great for travelers who need to find temporary jobs all over the world.

Most of these sites classify job offers based on location.

Travel Job Tip #6

Use a special skill to earn money

If you have special skills, let us say for example in photography, you can take snapshots and sell them. You can even work as wandering photographer and offer to take pictures for a price.

If you have talent in art, like in sketching for instance, you can make sketches and sell your artwork to other travelers, locals, and maybe even galleries. This requires a great deal of marketing and charm.

Travel For Life And Health

Author: Johnson Peter

Traveling, for most people, is an ideal way to enjoy and relax. True enough, travel does provide a lot of relaxing and fun experiences. Travel deals offered by travel companies are mostly designed to give people an opportunity to sit back and take life easily. Thus, in a world where time passes too quickly and workloads continue to pile up every now and then, the thought of travel immensely appeals to the vast majority.

However, by looking in a different angle, one may see that travel is not merely for purposes of relaxation and sheer idleness. In fact, there is a lot more into traveling than most people could imagine. And only by seeing the unrealized the possibilities can people look at travel in a whole new and different perspective.

Travel escapades can be a way for people to improve their health and lifestyle. Most experts agree that traveling into different places can greatly contribute in improving the health of a person. Not only is it beneficial to the mental health of someone, but to his/her physical and emotional health as well. Even doctors advise some patients to take a vacation to improve his/her physical stature and well-being.

Discount travels available in the vast travel market of the world today are not only packed with exciting destinations. On a closer look, these offers are not merely for sight-seeing. Thus, it can be noted that in the world of travel these days, the word “adventure” appeals more than the words “see” and “experience”. This is because people are encouraged to physically take part in the experience they will have while traveling.

Travel adventures are ways for people to exercise their bodies. Far from the four corners of their offices, people are encouraged to hike, run, swim and do several more physical activities. These activities, following the insights of health experts, are great ways to achieve an active lifestyle. It regulates blood circulation and normalizes bodily functions.

Many people look at travel as a way to achieve peace of mind. Taking an adventure into new places and seeing new things is psychologically beneficial. Even people under post-traumatic therapies are encouraged to “escape” from crowded cities and take time away from worries that dominates their lives. Travel is also a proven anti-stress regimen. This is why many people look forward to vacation opportunities despite economically pressing times. By the time travelers get back from an escapade, they are renewed mentally and display a better mental disposition. They become more efficient in their fields. The same is true to the emotional conditions of people. Many people find traveling as an effective way to stabilize their emotional impulses.

In Expedia, savings is not only what people get. They can also have the adventures of their lives that are great for their health and well-being. The company takes people into places where they can get the best for their health. In every travel package offered by Expedia, there are countless activities that can strengthen the physical, mental and emotional conditions of a traveler. The Expedia site also features different activities that people can do to enjoy their trip. These include sports activities, festivals, treks and many others.

Expedia is also healthy to people’s pockets. Sounds funny, but Expedia does take the worries off in your travel escapade through its affordable rates and customer-friendly service features. There are many Expedia coupons available online that could greatly help ease the burden of travel expenses. So travel and enjoy the best of life for the best of your health.

– I’ve recently have taken up paddle boarding which is a great fun thing to do while on your Hawaii vacation. When you come to Hawaii there many activities you can engage in that take you a little out of your comfort zone but are both fun and safe. Paddle boarding is one of those activities and a few do it the old-fashioned way on your belly is really quite easy and enjoyable. You can also do adventurous things like zip lining or going on a scuba dive without having a lot of experience. Hawaii Five-0 gets complicated This week’s final episode of the first season of Hawaii Five-0 was packed with surprises. It was the buzz all week as people analyzed what’s to come for next season. Today we talk about our plans for this year’s premiere episode. We will be hosting people from all over the world for a series of activities on the week of the premiere. It’s called Sunset on the Beach or SOTB for short, and it looks like it will be the first or second week of September. If you’d like more information about attending join our SOTB facebook page where we publish all of the information about it. Keeping your stuff dry in the Water Have you ever wondered what to do with your car keys if you’re going to the beach in Hawaii? A Facebook question came in asking for some advice about what to do in this situation. I share with a waterproof pouch that I recently purchased that works great for that kind of situation keeps everything bone dry.
Rv Packing Tips, Ebook(r.

Cruise Travel Insurance coverage: So Your Dream Travel is Insured

Author: lauren moore

After careful planning and cost-cutting over 10 long years, Keith and Donna finally managed to save up enough money to book their luxury cruise trip to Galapagos. It was to be their second honeymoon amidst the scenic islands. Just as their anticipation about the trip was about to hit its peak, they got the unfortunate news of Keith’s mother being diagnosed with a terminal illness that gave her very few days to live.

The news was double-disaster—not only were they extremely saddened by the prospect of losing his mother to a grave illness, but they also discovered that their cruise booking, like most other cruise bookings, was 100 percent non-refundable: a large proportion of their saving was bound to be wasted when they cancelled the trip. Keith bitterly regretted not taking his wife’s advice on purchasing cruise travel insurance.

You can use cruise travel insurance plans to reimburse trip costs if you cancel the trip before it starts. If one of the travelers is ill or injured and the trip needs to be abandoned midway, you recover your money through cruise travel insurance. Some added benefits that are part of this plan include reimbursement of medical expenses and evacuation of sick or injured travelers.

Cruise insurance plans differ in the reasons they consider eligible for trip cancellation or interruption and the people whose risks they cover, such as travelers only or travelers and their family members.

Some cruise insurance plans may take care of evacuation expenses only to certain specific healthcare institutions. Some plans may also bear the cost of evacuation to a hospital preferred by the policy holder, in the home country. Some cruise insurance plans can be upgraded to include medical expenses as well. But some other plans do not support such upgrades.

If you’re interested in adventure sports and are planning to indulge in some of them, then do confirm whether the cruise insurance plan you intend to purchase covers any of the activities you’re interested in. Some policies cover adventure sports like scuba diving and jet skiing and some don’t.

If the cruise trip is cancelled or interrupted because of a lapse on the part of the travel provider or because the financial condition of the travel provider is weak, then certain cruise insurance plans may not cover it. There are plans that cover financial insolvency, but some of those provide cover only if there is a gap of 21 days between the payment of the initial trip deposit and the purchase of the insurance. Some others cover financial insolvency even if the plan is purchased within a day of the final trip payment.

If your trip is cancelled because of bad weather, then you don’t need to worry. Most cruise insurance plans list bad weather as a condition under which cancellation charges are covered. However, if your trip suffers because of terrorism, then it is unlikely that the plan will consider it. Some plans, however, do cover medical expenses ranging from $ 10,000 to $500,000, whereas evacuation and repatriation cover can range from $100,000 to $1 million.

Travel As A Job – 3 Tips For Making Travel Job Dreams A Reality

Author: Tyson Hale

We can’t deny the fact that traveling requires a lot of money and transportation and lodging are the two major expenses when traveling. For many people, it is a very extravagant luxury and considered practically hopeless. Yet, there are ways to travel and explore without emptying your bank account.

Travel jobs are what I am referring to. With this kind of job, travel is a requirement and often your travel and accommodations are paid for. You just have to produce results and traveling may become an integral part of your business to fuel your money making machine.

If you do not know where to start or how to get into this type of career, follow this tips to get you started on your tracks.

1. Find employment at job positions that entail travel and exploration

There are numerous job positions available in travel and tourism industry. Tour guides, coordinators, and travel agents are just some of these.

Service-oriented, hospitality jobs are also available all around the world. Hotels, bars and restaurants in tourist destinations are always hiring. Entertainment and performing jobs are also in demand in many countries. The list is endless when you start to think of it.

All you need to do is examine your skills and career goals. If you have what it takes to do these kinds of jobs, you will have no trouble landing a position. Different positions involve miscellaneous qualifications so be sure to get appropriate certifications and training before applying. It will increase your chances of landing the job.

2. Find contractual work in different locations

Some companies or establishments may offer temporary work. These assignments may last from a few months to a year depending on their needs. So if you have the set of defined skills that they can use, you can apply for the jobs and negotiate a contract to work in the location. An example of this kind of position is travel nursing, where nurses can hop from country to country to practice the profession for extended periods of time.

You can also get positions doing freelance work. Go to the place where your skills are needed then get paid highly for it. An example of this is bringing your skills in IT to a startup company needing help.

These jobs can be found online in sites like Craigslist and Elance. You can also get assignments with the help of job placement agencies.

3. Use travel as part of your business

This is probably the most favorable of the three. Using travel as tool to help you find new customers allows you to travel while letting you offer your products to the world. You can also use travel to find new products to offer to customers at home. Using the Internet to sell authentic artifacts from other cultures can help you share your travels to those who might not get the chance to make them

Travel blogging, travel photography, and online selling of foreign products are some examples. You can earn income passively if you are already adept in this kind of business model.
