So for Mother’s Day why not start supporting your Mom and help her get more from her PC.  It’s an easy way to show Mom that you care.  Plus, it’s something she actually wants and needs.

Many of you are already supporting your Moms with Soluto.  Here are just a few stories our users have shared with us about how and why they’re helping their Moms with Soluto:

The story started when I became addicted to using my Mom’s laptop, since I didn’t have one at that time. Day by day the boot was taking longer and longer and many programs crashed. It was so frustrating, so I looked for a solution, and that’s when I found Soluto…My Mom loves it because she doesn’t have to wait a long time for her PC to boot up anymore. Getting started is easy:

1. Choose the person you want to help from your Soluto home screen, or start with your own PC.

2. When you get to the PC page, click “Internet” from the menu bar under the PC.

3. Once you’re in the Internet section, you can start by setting the default browser.  Change the browser to the one you think is best.  You can install a new browser with just one click.

4. Next you can select a search engine.

And set a homepage.

5. See which toolbars or add-ons are slowing your browsing experience and disable them easily.  Here’s how:

Run your mouse over the add-ons, on the left-hand side of the Internet section.  Click on an add-on to learn more about what it does, and see what other Soluto users chose to do with it.  Then decide whether to keep it or disable it.

We saw it, we remember it, and we were inspired by it. So as part of our campaign to welcome Windows 8 and say “Hello Metro,” we created a Soluto style animated remake of “1984.” We wanted to make people think of the past while get everyone excited for what’s to come.

2012 won’t be like 1984. It’ll be much much better.

1. First, download the Soluto app from the Windows 8 App Store.
2. Then, invite the people you want to help, your friends, family and co-workers, to Soluto.

• a. Type the name of a person you want to help and click “Add This Person”.
• b. They’ll receive an email invite asking them to download Soluto.

3. Once they’ve installed Soluto you can immediately start helping them with their PCs.

• a. Tap an avatar to view their PCs.

• b. Tap a PC to see everything that’s going on with their PC.

• c. To install or update apps, select the “Apps” tab at the top of the screen.  Then select all the apps you’d like to install or update and then tap the action button in the bottom bar with one easy finger motion. All the apps you chose will be installed or updated. Just like that.

• d. To check out the PC’s Hardware details, tap the “Hardware” tab at the top of the screen to view available disk space and defrag hard drives.  If the drive requires clearing or defragmentation you’ll be prompted with a “Defrag” or “Clear Space…” button making it easy for you to free up space on hard drives so that the person you’re helping can do more things on their PC.

You can add that personal touch by changing the Name, PC Name and Avatar of anyone you help whenever you want. Just select a person and tap “Edit” in the bottom bar. Choose from a bunch of different avatar options to find an avatar that suits them.

And to make things even easier, you can pin people to your desktop for quick access to their PCs. If there’s someone you help all the time, or certain PCs you check on a lot, just go to that person and tap “Pin to Start” in the bottom bar to create a shortcut. Then all you have to do is click their avatar from your desktop to jump straight to that person’s PCs.

If you’re away from your Windows 8 tablet or PC, don’t worry.  You can access Soluto by logging into www.soluto.com so you can manage your PCs from any computer, anywhere in the world.

So that’s how simple it is to help your people do more with their PCs with the Soluto Metro App.  Try it out for yourself.

It’s easy to add a profile photo. Here’s how:

• 1. Click on your name in the top right corner of your Soluto dashboard.

• 2. Now you can edit your profile, adding information about yourself, a link to your website, updating your photo and more.

• 3. To update the photo, click on the blank user icon and then press the upload button to browse photos on your computer.

• 4. Select your photo and then crop it to the perfect size and press the blue “Crop” button to finish.

Your photo is just one of the things on your profile that you can personalize to help people know more about you, so don’t stop there. It’s very easy to add your website and a little note about yourself: just click and type.

Feel free to come back and update your profile as often as you’d like.
