Create + Cultivate LA 2014

This was our 7th Create + Cultivate (and the biggest.) 100 ladies + gentleman from as far as Thailand gathered in a room in Downtown Los Angeles to feel inspired. The goal of C+C has always been to enlighten, entertain and inspire-- to cultivate relationships without feeling like you are networking, to meet creatives in an environment that lets you be yourself and to hear some of the best and the business tell their story and give invaluable advice. It is something I am incredibly proud of creating. Each year after emails pour in about the game changing experience which make all the blood, sweat and tears that go into feel so worth while.

Next year, we are going BIG and I mean BIG (stay tuned) and I am so excited to bring this conference to even more amazing men + women. Below are some photos I feel captured the experience.

Headed north to Seattle!

As cheesey as it is, I love the fish market. We had the most incredible crab roll (seriously, get this) right down near Pike Place at Rub with love.

Brunch at odd fellows was as good as it looks

Summer is all about Vacation right? V A C A T I O N! The word seems like a foreign concept at this point. But I had planned this, planned this for months and I wasn't about to let a 1000+ email inbox get in my way.

First stop, Sonoma Valley. My best friend was getting married and we had to send her off in style.

Above is our AIRBNB we rented (super affordable and absolutely lovely).

A must see -- Scribe Winery.

There were heaps of lavender at the Valley of the Moon Vineyard.

We dined at Bouchon on the patio ( and obviously scarfed some meats & cheeses).

Next up, Maui.

We stayed in the amazing town of P'aia an old plantation town.

The shopping was fantastic and I loved this little gallery / store PUKA PUKA

we found a red sand beach.

Then there was of course the wedding at Haiku Mill

And the bride in her beautiful Monique L'Huiller dress

My handsome boyfriend braving the humidity in a wool sweater.

My other wifey, Alisa and I played bridesmaid for the day.

We all got ready in the "cane house" which was a shabby chic dream come true.

The ceremony was truly magical (as was the aftermath.)

We dined at Mama's Fish House, Monkeypod (poke tacos and bulgogi tacos YES!), Mala (tuna bruschetta!) and drank Pineapple wine from Tedeschi winery and then we got horribly sunburnt. The end.

The price of water bottles is staggering. The effects on the environment are even more so. Step in, SOMA. The artfully designed water filter and carafe that not only looks beautiful but works beautifully within the environment as well (and also kicks back part of the proceeds to Charity Water).

It's always nice to have a filtered carafe on the table that looks as lovely as the tables cape you've put together. Consider me a fan.

sometimes you just need a break, you are working 1000 miles a minute and saying yes to everything and making everyone else happy and not yourself--- and that is what 4 day weekends are for no? Hit reset and just enjoy the people around you (like my pup and bf) . This month has been crazy (and amazing) see below for a quick re-cap.

I got to check out the amazing lux lodge aka my dream home (stay tuned for future events and collaborations).

I got to work with the lovely people of one fine stay and kitchen surfing (both need to know companies) on dinner parties and brunches for some really fun people -- check out #homecookedla for more photos.

Planted a garden! I am really proud of this --- stay tuned to see if things actually live….

and attended my dear friend Jeanine's wedding in Pacifica, Ca.

The ladies over at Honest co. sent me an adorable little bundle of some of their amazing products. My boyfriend and I hit the road for San Francisco and I threw them in my bag. The products are all organically, holistically and lovingly created and the kicker-- - they work. I love the body oil, lotions, hand sanitizer and the adorable little toothpastes. Marriott Hotels and more specifically their newest venture, Meetings Imagined, reached out to myself (and a crew of other bloggers) to participate in a dream experience. Namely, take their new Meetings Imagined initiative, which allows event and meeting planners to plan a killer event using proprietary images and services from various Marriott hotels to find inspiration for great events and learn tips and tricks from experts.

Once we found our inspiration, we were tasked with actually using Meetings Imagined to create two impactful and inspired meetings (Educate and Network) at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for startup, Kenectit.

Alongside three other blogger partners including Scout Sixteen ( Justin is just one of the best humans out there), Nest by Tamara and Design Work Life we landed in Atlanta and got straight to work (and play!).

A great brainstorming session around our event prep.

The tool is part of a larger campaign Marriott Hotels has called Travel Brilliantly (which I recommend checking out), a campaign dedicated to enabling guests to travel brilliantly aka SMARTER-- with things like mobile check-in and of course, Meetings Imagined. Just check out their hashtag #travelbrilliantly on Instagram and Twitter and you will see what I mean.

I live for my coffee, no really, LIVE for it. I also have no time, hence why getting my morning brew in the comfort and quickness of my own home is perfect. My coffee taste has evolved over the past fews appreciating artisanal blends and the artfulness that goes along with a quality cup which is why I love Nespresso's VertuoLine which allows you both coffee & espresso from the same machine. I gave the machine a test run with a spring brunch I hosted...

With Spring here and summer coming very soon it's all about the art of outdoor entertaining. When putting together a Spring Brunch for friends there are a few key components to keep in mind for a killer event. Florals ( Kale bouquets are my new favorite), Champagne cocktails, pastries, fruit and one hot dish (a quiche is great) plus delicious coffee. Everyone will be impressed that you can whip up a latte--- trust me.

I am off to Atlanta, headed to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Myself, Scout Sixteen aka Justin Livingston, Courtney Dolloff Eliseo aka design love work and Tamara Stephenson aka nest nest nest are headed to ATL to plan and co-create the ultimate customized meeting, using Meetings Imagined ( an amazing site powered by Marriott).

We will be working with new crowdfunding platform Kenectit to plan every aspect of the meeting using inspiration and the tools found on Meetings Imagined.
