Thank God for His mercy and the grace to begin fresh without the weight of the world holding us back and without the weight of our disappointments and shortcomings. He forgets these for His sake. Let us give ourselves the same gift.

There’s more Christ in the Christmas tree of life. Oh, what is this beautiful tree that points to the Heavens of God’s infinite creation? The supernatural star of Bethlehem is atop and can be seen from afar. Hanging in the celestial branches is an infinite host of angels bursting through the fabric of Heaven, singing grace to shepherds who were to come and inspect a lamb born without blemish. A lamb to be sacrificed for the covering of naked transgressions by our Adam and Eve ancestors. They were dressed in leather by the OG fashion designer Himself before being locked out of Eden lest the death curse became unbreakable and sealed. Locked out into a death-cursed world.

A journey of many moons, generations, and miles connects each branch on the family Christmas tree. We honor a chosen family that brings Light to the world.

“I once was blind, but now I see.”

Through the perfection of time, each branch of the family tree is recorded from Adam to Jesus, the second Adam. Not one member of the family tree is an ornament on their branch without a crack, scratch, or missing pieces, sometimes glued back together in weird-looking ways. But, each hangs in the balance of grace, faithfully hoping and latching onto the vine, serving a redemptive purpose in God’s greater plan.

Another 400 years pass between the rivers of revelation. The elderly prophetess-widow Anna faithfully fasts and prays during these silent years for restoration. And righteous old man Simeon stands on a promise to see the refreshing of Israel emerge before he dies.

Priestly Zechariah scoffs in his old age at the idea of birthing his prophesied son. Yet, Elizabeth’s miracle baby John leaps for joy in her wrinkled womb at the coming Kingdom-at-hand!

Little Mary’s in a tight spot on her branch. An innocent lamb herself, she’s publicly shamed with the most unexpected pregnancy. Surrenders her life for the greatest joy and greatest sorrow a woman will ever know. Trades her dreams for a God-sized reality that comes in the smallest of spirit-filled ways. She’s intimately aware of the presence of God on Earth from start to “it is finished.” The first to welcome Jesus into a human heart. The first to share in humanity’s good news before anyone could understand.

Joseph, another Egypt-bound dreamer, conquers the fear of the unknown to bring a holy child to his divine birth appointment. He swallows his shame, adopting and sheltering baby Yeshua with Abba protection, even when there is no room in the inn.

The blood of Adam coursing through a fetus, an unborn baby. The age-old prophecy is coming to pass. The Branch of the Lord sprouts forth. And there He is, Jesus, the God who created all the atoms and intrinsic designs of the cosmos within and without. There the infinite I AM cries out for mother’s milk in a helpless frame. Complete trust and rest in his lowly human Ima.

Let the trumpets blast, the King of kings is here! The head of the serpent will be crushed. Legal rights that were sneakily stolen will be reversed to and restored to their intended recipients. The sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve may now co-reign henceforth. The keys to death are taken back. Paradise lost is now found. Prince of peace for our souls.

And the wise men from exotic exiled lands humble themselves low on the Christmas tree branches. After the celestial music stops playing, they safely leave a murderously sly Herod. After they catch a glimpse of the Christmas star, they seek Jesus to offer and bring precious gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh, from afar. Gifts for healing, provision, and honorable sacrifice for an untimely trip back to Egypt, later called out to the Promised Land, just like his forbearers of long ago. Gifts from God in these patterns cover the roots of the Christmas tree that’s grounded to bless the whole earth. So many gifts and talents for His children to open, unravel, unfold, and discover. Abundant life gifts for us all, planted in our hearts and DNA in a space before time. Gifts to share, invest, and multiply for the creation to bear more fruit. Billions of fruit trees to bring the glory of God and the Lamb who shared our suffering in exchange for His success. We honor Him with the ornamental stories on our trees this Christmas.

The Christmas tree represents eternal life that is found in the truest story ever told. A Christmas parable for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. So, smell the sweet pine and brew a cup of breathe easy tea. Taste and see the sweetness of 12-season fruits. For God is good and His love endures forever. Merry Christmas!

Hello beloved friends. My name is Cherish Flieder, but you can call me Cherish.

I am so excited to be with you on this journey. I’ve been an artist and creative soul my whole life  Even though my younger self had many interests growing up (including dancing, playing music, singing, teaching my little siblings) it was at 12 that I truly knew I was going to be an artist. My parents took care of special-needs foster kids and also adopted kids, thus my house was always full of children. Being the oldest, I helped raise them.

When I met my husband, Benjamin, at a little Bible study in art college, it was instant love. Well, it was instant love for him.  It took me a little time to catch up, but we’ve been inseparable ever since.

Benjamin is a very special person. He is a two-time liver transplant survivor. He was born with a severe auto-immune disease called PSC that required a transplant when he was just a teenager. Unfortunately, it failed, meaning he needed another one immediately!!! Thank God he got it just in time and he is still alive to this day. However, the disease remains and he continues to battle the PSC daily in his health journey. In the face of this, he relentlessly pursues his passion as an artist author, illustrator, and storyteller!

I can tell you hundreds of stories of life-saving trips to the hospital for Benjamin and what it’s like to wonder at 3 a.m. if your loved one is going to make it …over and over and over again.

But I wanted to talk to you about identity. What I have discovered in my journey about my identity is that I am an Overcomer. Not only have I overcome numerous health scares with Benjamin, but I’ve also had many of my own. I’ve learned that through these medical challenges for myself, my family members, and my loved ones, it is important to live life with intention.

Life is short, but long. And it’s long enough to love and honor one another in all that we do. One could say that I’ve been through hell and I have found heaven. And God has gotten me through. So I’m here today because I am heaven-bent. I am here to share the hope, joy, and profound love I have found with you.

I want you to know that there’s hope for you, no matter what you’ve gone through and what you are going through both now and in the future. I want you to know there’s always hope.

We live in an amazing world, and I’ve learned so much through these corridors of great suffering, discovering many treasures along the way. I’m so excited to share many of them with you and entice you to crack open the door of curiosity about nature on Earth, our bodies, and beyond. It is my hope and joy to light your torch of insight and abundant life.

My story, why I’m here, is because I am an Overcomer. And I know that you can be too.

My experiences are backed by 20+ years in the creative arts and brand development—publishing and illustrating children’s books, designing logos, working in fashion, designing thousands upon thousands of patterns, and printing greeting cards.

I know what it’s like to win competitions and lose them. I know what it’s like to be featured internationally for your art and what it’s like to build an incredible “art of licensing” community of like-minded artists and professionals. I can tell you about the vulnerability of putting your heart on your sleeve as you develop your style and test it out into the world, and the joy that comes when people get it, see that spark of creativity, and ask you to make more of it. I could tell you stories about marketing and art, licensing, business, adventures, ups, and downs … but the bottom line is, I am here not to only share with you about making art, but how to make a beautiful LIFE, heart, body, soul, and spirit!

This is one of my favorite tea combinations for overall health. It helps with the respiratory, circulatory, digestive systems, and possibly more. I’ve also discovered drinking the Rock Rose tea is a natural teeth whitener (my dentist was impressed at the improvement, she thought I was getting treatment somewhere else!). Pine is a calming scent for soothing anxiety. The special species chosen for this blend is also great for the lungs and immune system. The more I research about both of these botanicals, the more I’m amazed!

Rock Rose (Cistus Incanus)

Antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-histamine, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Pine Needle (Pinus massoniana)

Powerful antioxidants, rich in vitamins A & C, strengthen immunity and aid in emotional relief.

To make this tea, it’s best to boil a large batch to extract the most micronutrients. However, you can reduce the sizes to one cup at a time if you’re in a pitch.

Add about 2 tablespoons of Rock Rose and Pine Needle each to a pot of boiling water. Continue to boil for 20 min. Strain out the botanicals into a mug. Honey or stevia are ok for sweetening, but typically I prefer it plain. For extra medicinal factors, you can add other roots and berries that you would like to work with. This can also help vary the flavor. Hawthorne, licorice root, dandelion root, and burdock root are some of my favorite choices. If you want a more delicate flower or leaf, add it after you’ve finished boiling and let everything continue to steep for 5-10 minutes depending on what it is. Be sure to research the medicinal properties of anything you use, as many have contradictions with medicine and health conditions.

Second steep: There’s so much goodness and flavors in the herbs, that you can fill the pot with the strained herbs for another round at room temperature or hot water. Let it sit for a few hours (no more than 12). At this point, I put it in a pitcher to chill so I can have refreshing tea to hydrate myself throughout the day.

Dreams are truly extraordinary – they’re like having a secret stash of superpowers that can launch us toward amazing heights and help us achieve incredible feats.

With our dreams, it’s possible to venture to places we never thought possible and accomplish things we once believed were beyond our capabilities. It’s almost like being a superhero, but instead of donning capes and special gadgets, we rely on our vivid imaginations.

When we dream, we tap into our innermost longings and discover new opportunities. We can envision our ideal future and work out the steps to transform it into a reality. Our dreams provide us with purpose and motivation. They inspire us to take action and mature as individuals.

Beloved, don’t ever surrender your dreams.

Embrace them, nourish them, and draw strength from them to reach your goals and aspirations. After all, without dreams, life would be incredibly mundane, and we would never be able to achieve our full potential. Take the time to dream again.

Now, with all of this in mind, here are three actionable steps you can take to make your dreams a reality:

Step 1: Define Your Dreams

Set aside some time to think deeply about what you want to achieve. Write the vision down. Be specific. Taste it, feel it, smell it, hear it, and see it! Remember, clarity is key. When you have a clear vision of what you want, it’s easier to take action and make it happen.

Step 2: Take Action, No Matter How Small

Every action counts, no matter how small it may seem. Break your big dreams down into smaller, more manageable goals, and then take action toward those goals. Even the most minimal progress is important for achieving success. Keep going, even if you face setbacks or challenges. Get up, reset your vision, and go for it again.

Step 3: Believe in Yourself

Trust that you are capable of achieving your dreams. Surround yourself with positive influences and supportive people who will encourage you along the way. Give yourself extra grace to learn from the mishaps you may encounter. Most importantly, remember why you are doing this, so be kind to yourself no matter what.

Dreams are key to unlocking your full potential.

They give you purpose, motivation, inspiration, and most importantly, hope. They allow you to envision a future that is beyond your current reality. So, go out there, define your dreams, take action, and believe in yourself. You are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to!

For example, the scent of freshly baked cookies reminds me of my childhood at Grandma’s house, while the smell of fresh bloom might make me feel lighthearted, happy, and full of love. These 8 original digital paintings of angels started with just a sketch in Procreate and the spark grew from there. The cards were released at the beginning of the 2020 global pandemic which in the process of isolating so many families at home, it created an even greater need for folks to send a card through the mail with a word of angelic comfort or birthday felicitations. The cards will be on display at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design’s upcoming Faculty + Staff Exhibition in Lakewood, Colorado.

This art ASMR video with hopeful music is designed to melt your stress away.

Welcome to my art studio. You are invited to come and relax with this gentle ASMR multi-sensory video I made just for you. Unwind with me for 10 minutes as I paint a watercolor sketch of the wild roses I pressed in my sketchbook from my last summer hike. A little candlelight and some soft floral sents complete my personal cottagecore aesthetic, or as I call “cherishcore” ;)

There’s no talking in this video, however, it’s paired with calming music with subtle ASMR sounds from my paintbrush to give you space to breathe as you take a refreshing break from your daily tasks. You may also enjoy listening to it when you are working or even typing as I am now. :)

This is not about painting the most beautiful artwork as is about the process of being present and just creating. If you want to paint along, please do! :) Let the watercolors do their thing.

What’s ASMR you may ask? It’s short for “autonomous sensory meridian response.” I actually stumbled upon this on accident, but as a recovering stress-a-holic (is that even a word?), I’ve been looking for ways to calm my nervous system down. Painting slowly is always effective for me, so I started recording videos, but the sounds that my brush made scrubbing the rough watercolor paper bothered me as did the clinging of my brush on the water vessel. I’ve later discovered the world of ASMR where the wonderful gentle sounds of everyday lives have become a healing experience for tens of thousands of people around the globe. So, perhaps we can share together the soothing healing benefits of this medium.

The most important lesson I have learned is also the lesson I need to remember daily. So, I wove it into my art company tagline – “Something to Cherish®, because life is a gift.” 

Every moment is a gift. No one is promised tomorrow and yet most of us waste too many minutes of today worrying about it. This can lead to anxiety. We can’t change the past, but we spend too much time regretting it. This can lead to depression. We want things to be just perfect, so we embrace fear and delay it. This is the overwhelming reality of procrastination. 

Instead, this is what we should do. First, smile. Take 3 deep breaths and be grateful for everything in your life at this moment. This includes the good, bad, and ugly, as they are the teachers life uses to make us who we are meant to become if we will only let them. Keep looking up, have faith, and reach for joy in every circumstance. Be quick to forgive, mend what you can, and let go of what you can’t change or fix. Never lose your ability to laugh at yourself at the end of the day. Spend more time with the beauty of nature and the mysteries of your Creator. Connect face-to-face and heart-to-heart with your people more than your technology. Listen closely and be kind to others as well as to yourself. Don’t wait to sing your song, dance your dance, give your gift, or paint your dream. Be the authentic, original, and best version of you. Start right now. There’s no time in life for do-overs. The way you do it will be just right for right now, as long as you are willing to adjust along the way.

Right now we hold time in our hands. Right now we can use our hearts, minds, and hands to make a difference. Right now, this present moment, is where eternity past and eternity future intersect. This moment is completely yours. What will you choose to do with it?
