D.C. Council member Marion Barry was arrested last night and charged with stalking a woman after the woman reported that Barry was “bothering her” as the two traveled in separate vehicles in Anacostia Park, police said this morning.

At about 8:45 p.m., a woman traveling near the intersection Good Hope Road and Anacostia Drive flagged down a U.S. Park Police officer to report that a man in a vehicle nearby was stalking her, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a Park Police spokesman. That man, Schlosser said, was Barry. ......

........Vice President Joe Biden, the Obama administration’s point-man on the stimulus program, allows that they “misread’’ the severity of the problem.

“The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy,” Biden told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an interview that aired today on This Week.

Biden acknowledged that officials were too optimistic earlier this year when they predicted that joblessness would peak at 8 percent.

“The truth is, there was a misreading of just how bad an economy we inherited,” said Biden. “Now, that doesn’t—I’m not—it’s now our responsibility.........

Does Biden even remember that he and Obama were members of a Democrat controlled Congress when this all was starting to erupt???????

So Palin quit.  What I heard her say was that not only was it taking too high a toll on her family but it was taking too much of AK taxpayer time & $$ to fight it.  And she didn’t believe that was fair nor morally responsible in her position as Governor to continue.

I admire that.  What shakes me to my strappy little sandals is who won in this dealio and how they did it.  The DNC operatives, with full cooperation of the MSM and nutroots, just stood there and threw bushels of bullshiite at her until she had to go away.

And what would prevent them from doing that to any other candidate—for any other office, national to local?

Completely intentional; completely dishonest; and completely impossible to defend against.  Not one—not ONE—“journalist” made any effort to dig into the who/where/what of the “ethics complaint” filers—that we know of.  Not one piece outlining their identity, their baselessness, their pattern, their intent.  Not one youngun, looking for their Big Break story thought to “investigate” how such “corruption” could have gone on unnoticed for the first half of Palin’s governorship and only have come to light after she hit the national scene?  No one was curious how so much bullshite could have been flung—yet none of it stuck?  None? Isn’t that kinda unusual?  Yet no one thought to investigate a big story like that?

Not ONE?  Rly?

Why?  Did someone/anyone start on such a piece and get warned off?  Were the same tactics threatened against them?  Or other, more immediate tactics?

This game-changing tactic, against which we must find a workable, adequate defense, will change the political areana.  But, tell ya the truth, I cannot think of how to fight it.

[That’s not to say politics has not heretofore been dirty—duh.  But a planned barrage of baseless bullshite, each piece of which is winnable on its own merits, but the whole of which, by sheer volume, is not?  Stinks of Cloward-Piven, no?

Palin is toast, insofar as any higher elected office; but anyone else who emerges from the ranks will be open to the same kind of thuggery.  And I imagine, now that it’s worked on the national scale, we will see it on state and local scales.  It’s in the playbook.  It worked.  It will be used.

All we can do, now, is name it in her honor:  being “Palined.”

And, somehow, raise a defense.  Although reason, fact and honor has a tough time in the face of the volume of a maddened hoard of barbarians.

Tacticists?

Yesterday, Independence Day, Vice President Joe Biden attended a naturalization ceremony at Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq.  During the ceremony 237 U.S. servicemen from 59 countries, including Iraq, were sworn in as citizens of the United States of America.  At the conclusion of this solemn, undoubtedly moving and inspirational occasion ... this is what the Vice President of the United States had to say:
�As corny as it sounds,� he told the troops, �Damn, I�m proud to be an American!�

Corny? Corny!? Corny!? CORNY!?
WTF? I mean, WTFingF?

[I] suppose that, in some hypothetical situation, the words, �I�m proud to be an American� might strike some hypothetical person as being somewhat corny.  But if there�s one person, in one scenario, who should never, ever feel that it�s corny to be proud to be an American, it would be:
- The Vice President of the United States.
- Surrounded by hundreds of U.S. servicemen and women.
- Who have just become U.S. citizens.
- In a war zone.
- On Independence Day.
- You stupid moron, you. 
So on this July the Fourth weekend, please take a moment to contemplate the implications of Joe Biden�s casual, unscripted (thus, highly revealing) thoughts on what it means to him to be an American.  And after careful consideration if you still think an arrogant, grinning, eye-blinking, speech-stealing simpleton like Joe Biden is qualified to be Vice President of the United States ....
