“I am a new member to the Sonitrol family. I say family because I have been treated as a family member only better. Only one other time have I been treated as though I am the only customer. Of course that’s not true, but your customer service is absolutely outstanding from my first consultation to Heather stopping by today to change something in the system for us. Heather, in reading reports, picked up on the fact that I was leaving out the wrong door at night and made a surprise visit to fix it. Deborah stopped by on her way home one night to check out our personal harm device. Doni stops by to say hello and “how are things going.” I love to see your team walk through my front door. They are always happy, always want to help in anyway, and even a nice gift and card from you welcoming our company into the Sonitrol family. Thank you to all your people.

I even talk to monitoring now on a pretty regular basis. With dark drops with several of our suppliers who, for many weeks, couldn’t seem to get the hang of the new code AND printed directions on use, they call and we have had a few good laughs about the situation in the wee hours of the morning. I appreciated getting a call last night at 11:00 telling me Sandra left at 9:00, came back, turned off the alarm, and then it was never reset 2 hours later. Put a coat on over the PJ’s and down I came. I appreciate the calls, no matter what time, because your company has my back and protecting my investment. Peace of mind is what I have.

I really appreciate the monthly reports I get too. Lets me know who’s in and what time they leave if I’m not here. My little secret tucked in a folder. Gives me a warm feeling.

I am so delighted we made the change and went with Sonitrol. I was not getting good service with the company I had been with for four years. I have had nothing but excellent service with Sonitrol. I will always recommend your company.

by Marolyn Slayter

Recently, I was out to breakfast with my Mother and over heard a young woman speak about doctors she had recently gone to work for. I found it interesting as these doctors take time with their patients and almost never see more than twelve patients a day. This is such a wonderful concept I just had to talk to her about these doctors and find out more.

Wouldn’t we all love to find a doctor who would care enough about you as a person to want the first visit with you to be an hour long and to know you as a person? As I listened I did find out that these doctors do not take insurance, but they have ways for you to either set up an account where you pay by the month or a six month fee or even a year. After talking and listening, this young women gave me her card.

At that point, I wondered what kind of a security system does such a practice have? They were getting ready to leave and so even though I did not have a lot of time, I gave her my business card and told her I was sure they had some kind of security, but if they would like to have the best to please give my card to them and we would provide the best security for just such a practice.

Often medical care providers think their offices aren’t on interest to burglars. Unfortunately, this isn’t true. Clinics are seen as a source for pharmaceuticals and private patient information. Savvy burglars target physicians’ paper and electronic records to harvest details on individuals for ID theft. In addition to burglar alarms, medical and dental clinics benefit from access control systems that stop people from going into rooms with sensitive information, like patient record rooms and server rooms.

Securing patient records is one more way doctors and dentists can create a boutique experience.

Police arrested one suspect, detained a second and put a third on the run after responding within two minutes to a Sonitrol Pacific verified burglar alarm at a Portland auto repair shop May 10.

Monitoring Operator Joe Orsborn received the initial system activation from Ultimate Auto Center around 1:30 a.m. He heard “banging and popping sounds” from the audio security sensors and called Portland Police. Orsborn continued to monitor sounds inside the business while police were on their way and he heard officers confront an intruder within minutes of his call. Police told the business owner they got there so fast because Orsborn could hear the crime in progress and verify the alarm.

Police arrested one suspected burglar inside the shop. A second person ran away. Police detained a third person found waiting nearby in a car; however officers had no evidence to connect that person to the break-in and the individual was released.

The business owner recognized the person who was released as a former customer. He is hopeful the individual arrested will give police information leading to arrests of the other two.

“I have worked for Sonitrol Pacific for a total of about 12 years.
“I really enjoy the family like culture that is presented by everyone. Being a technician has taught me a lot about working through problems, whether it is a problem with the system or a customer. Working with our customers is usually a good experience. Being a technician, I am always learning new things. There is always something new and you never know everything, which keeps this job interesting. I also like the fact that this company takes care of their employees.
Lakewood police arrested a 27-year-old woman suspected of burglarizing an elementary school early Tuesday.

Officers were called to John Dower Elementary School, 7817 John Dower Road W., after the burglar alarm sounded just after 4:40 a.m. As police arrived, officers spotted a woman dressed in dark clothing running from the building. One officer detained her as others checked out the school and found a window had been removed, police reported.

A police dog tracked the intruder to where the woman was being held. She was booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Ellen Gurney exhibits grace under pressure. Thanks to her enthusiasm, responsiveness, and solution-focused attitude, her customers and teammates always feel taken care of when they come to Ellen with a need. Plus, she’s “super-duper nice”. We congratulate her on earning our April 2012 Employee of the Month award.

Ellen consistently provides our Boise customers with more than they feel they are paying for and this helps ensure they remain happy members of the Sonitrol Pacific family. Her efforts with Planet Beach are an example of this. Ellen worked with them to increase the effectiveness of their security system and decrease a new risk. They were very happy with the service she delivered.

Ellen stays on top of reports, completes customer training and customer service calls with an eye on solving potential problems before they become problems.

“I appreciate her proactive approach,” said Michelle Evans, Verification Center Manager. “She is continually reviewing customer activity and addresses issues the first time they happen.”

When an issue comes up, Ellen doesn’t point fingers, but gets to work looking for a solution. She collaborates with the team and speaks in terms of “we”.

Ellen recognizes the value of ongoing growth and opportunities for self improvement. She comes to training sessions excited and ready to learn. Her participation, questions and excitement at the recent Secure Pacific training was particularly appreciated.

Ellen goes out of her way to understand her role in delivering “wow” service to Sonitrol Pacific customers. She’s “wowed” us and deserves this honor.

The expertise and persistence of a Sonitrol Pacific operator monitoring audio security sensor technology allowed police to arrest four people suspected of a three school burglary spree before the suspects could break into a fourth school April 28.

Monitoring Operator Jessica Culver received an impact-activated alert from a Puget Sound area school about 2:10 a.m. She heard a loud crash, glass breaking and banging noises, along with voices whispering to “hurry up”. Culver immediately called police. Moments later, it got quiet at the school again. Police were on scene within minutes and found a broken window at the school, but the suspects were gone.

At 2:56 a.m., Culver received series of activations from a second school and immediately called police. She heard voices and banging noises, but all went quiet at 2:58 a.m. Again, police were on scene within minutes of the security system activation and located a broken window, but the intruders were in and out of the school in just two minutes.

At 3:32 a.m., the pattern began again at a third school. Culver let police know she had an activation at the school with what sounded like the same whispering voices. Police responded quickly, but the suspects evaded capture.

The suspects were moving very fast from school-to-school. The city’s police force was on high alert to catch them when a patrol car spotted four people waking through a field towards a fourth school. The four were detained and confessed to breaking into the three schools.

Police located and impounded the suspects’ car; the vehicle had been reported as stolen and officers believe it was used to haul property taken from the schools. Once the property is cataloged, it will be returned to the district.

Thanks to Culver’s expertise in monitoring audio security sensors and the fast response by police officers to verified alarms, school property was recovered, losses were kept to a minimum and the suspects were caught before breaking into a fourth school.
