Todd Vanhoosear and I are coworking at Design Annex on Friday and we thought we’d invite others to join us. It’s happening 9am-12noon on Friday, July 30th. If you’d like to join us, post a comment here, send me an email or text message or RSVP on the Facebook invitation. Space is limited so let us know if you’d like to join us. We’ll get lunch somewhere around Union Square at noon. My suggestion is of course Ronnarong; but there are other options, too including Cantina La Mexicana and Precinct. I wish The Independent was open for lunch!

Wisteria (also spelled Wistaria) is a genus of flowering plants in the pea family, Fabaceae, that includes ten species of woody climbing vines native to the eastern United States and the East Asian states of China, Korea, and Japan. Aquarists refer to the species Hygrophila difformis, in the family Acanthaceae, as Water Wisteria.

Wisteria vines climb by twining their stems either clockwise or counter-clockwise round any available support. They can climb as high as 20 m above ground and spread out 10 m laterally. The world’s largest known Wisteria vine is located in Sierra Madre, California, measuring more than 1 acre (0.40 ha) in size and weighing 250 tons.

I shot this photo earlier today of the aloe vera plant that is starting to take over the kitchen.

(And yes, I’m trying to get back into the habit of taking more every day photos. Not just at events or concerts.)

As much as I love the air conditioning at Design Annex during these crazy hot days, sometimes I like to work from home outside. I recently cleaned up the picnic table area at The Granitorium (aka where I live with Nick and Chris) so it’s a lot more appealing to sit outside and work. Or sit in the hammock. Unfortunately “work” and “sit in the hammock” don’t seem to happen at the same time. Do they make hammock desks? ;)

I took this photo earlier today of the flowering plant at Design Annex that has been coming back to life now that it’s down on the main floor of the space and not getting so much light up in the loft.
