Today I noticed that my daughter was making funny noises which oddly resembled sex sounds my wife makes. When I asked her what she was doing she said “I’m pretending to be mommy from last night.” I was on a business trip last night. FML

My Mother Is Moving As Well…

My mother has been dealing with this for some time now, not knowing if she’d have to move or not. The house that my mother has been renting from a friend has been in foreclosure for about a year. The landlord had planned for his cousin to take over the mortgage and then when my mother was able to buy the house, she’d take it from there. Well, things didn’t go so smoothly, so now she has to get out. Typically in these situations, the sheriff will show up and give 90 days to vacate the property. So while waiting for Mr. Sheriff to come give her the boot, she is looking for a new place.

As you may know, Greg and I are looking for a new place as well. We may be moving in the same time frame. I don’t know how it’s all going to play out, but it will happen one way or another. I hope there are no hard feelings in the end. Shit happens. I see this as a positive situation. Maybe my mother will find something even better, better location, more living space, better layout. At any rate, there is a weight lifted off of her shoulders. She now knows the verdict so that she can proceed to make arrangements.

We’re Moving…Again.

Yep, that’s right you read correctly. We are moving again. I had just started to get comfortable, but this move is for the better. We live in a small rural town. We love the quiet living, but we prefer to be on top of shopping, businesses, good schools, and a hospital. Living right on top of things would cut out all of the extra driving. And in the case of emergency, we won’t be far from the hospital. We are also looking to upgrade our living space so that Jayden can have his own room. What was supposed to be his room is now our office. We are also planning to expand our family in the next year or so.

As much as we hate moving, we are just going to suck it up and get er done like the strong couple that we are. It is time to get a leash on life. So many things have been put on hold after the birth of Jayden, a sequence of events, none of which were his fault.

We let our landlord know about our plans to relocate and she was oh so supportive. I sure hate to leave her. Can you believe that she gave us some rental guides and gave us the low down on bad properties? We trust her because we’ve read some bad reviews of some of the properties that she had mentioned. Who else would have done something like that? I will definitely be back to visit her as well as Jaymi – it’s been how many months? And my semi-hermit self has not come out to play. That’s a story for another day!

Remember me? The chick who abandoned sophistishe.org for mommydaddyblog.com shortly after having her son? Well, let me tell you, it was a smart move. It has brought so many opportunities to me and my family, but it’s time to get back to personal blogging. Sophistishe.com is where I will blog about ME ME ME! And to explain the change in domains from dot org to dot com- I thoughy it would be more “professional” to switch to dot com.
