/bitchen loves us some Oliver, and luckily we also loves us some A-Trak. Been a while since we gave the decorated DJ some love here on the site (but lets be honest here, it's been a while since we've given anyone much love).

The song is off the A-Trak's Tuna Melt EP (Fool's Gold, 2012) which features all of the glitchy electroness that A-Trak has become known for. But Disco Nap took my attention as the best performer on the EP due to it's 'dark synth' disco subtheme, and absolutely killer drop.

We rarely post outside of the electronic dance music genre, but that doesn't mean we dont appreciate the other musings around the musicsphere. Metz (who don my namesake) are a trio out of Toronto who've been doing their live thing for a while until finally releasing one of the most critically acclaimed punk albums of 2012.

This track is peculiar in length compared to the rest of their album. Where you might typically see a two and a half minute track of vigor and insanity, in "Wet Blanket" we're presented a more drawn out epic of bass and distortion.

We here at /bitchen love us some Flossy... well, most of Flossy. The news is a few months old... but in case you missed the big dealo-controversy: our favorite trap-duo has been getting a bit too liberal when it comes to calling something 'sampled'. [link]

Recent releases off of Mad Decent's imprint Jeffree's, have been more or less released already, but in another subgenre, in another country, and by completely different artists. To Flossy's credit, they're not monetizing on these releases, but any pub is good pub in the entertainment world. Just not sure how crowds will be reacting next time they or anyone else at Mad Decent drop one of these 'illegitimate' tracks.

Still, these are solid tunes, just gotta give the original artists some credit.

First post in well over 9 months... doesn't mean I've been completely devoid of indulging in good music, just that my time has been better spent in raising a family and getting my shit together in other areas of my life. It's summer in most relevant places on this Earth (sorry Australia), and summer means happy, bouncing beats.

I'll admit that I missed Dillon Francis' IDGAFOS the first time around, but hearing D.veloped's mashup with the typical hip-hop vocal overlay, shows that I got lucky in stumbling over this mix on the old hypem charts. Because the song underneath it all is a joyous, melodic, staccato'd, whistling dream of far off wondrous places.

Saw this over the weekend and was amazed how artfully done this film's action and drama was played out. The soundtrack is phenomenal with title track by Kavinsky, and this gem from College showing up a few times as well. Was telling my wife how few times a movie comes along that really leaves this much of an impression on me.

Hollywood should take note that an action thriller doesn't have to come from the same one production studio, and doesn't have to use the same cookie cutter ploys and tactics to get testosterone junkies in the seats... meh you know what, keep the lunks over in Fast & Furious 7. k.bye.

...it's not a huge departure from the original [see vid], but the disco infusion is definitely an upgrade, and where the original just kind of fades into oblivion, Madeon keeps the tempo, the beat, and our attention throughout.
