Testimonial - Hilton Moorea and Vahini Island Resort

Hey Tricia,

The Hilton Moorea and Vahini Island Resorts were great. We had to wait a bit at the Hilton due to our early arrival and it was windy and rained! Bill brought the manager a wood key chain which spelled her name that he made. That seemed to go over well. Anyway, in the end, we ended up with Bungalow 49, perfect. Just near the walkway to the overwater bungalows, but right near the water and away from the pool, perfect! It was a nice property. We went on a wave runner tour and an ATV tour too, fun.

Vahine's private island resort was spectacular, there is no other word for it. It is a 45 minute boat ride directly from the airport in Raiatea.(sp?) The food was excellent, French gourmet and the atmosphere can't be beat if you are looking for quiet and private. The dining room sits just 15 feet from the water, flowers on the table at every meal.

For my birthday, they set up a romantic private table with flowers all over. There are only the 9 bungalows although they are building a family compound on the far side of the island. We ended up with bungalow 1 over the water, incredible. No room keys, but a small safe in the room. Very safe feeling and beautiful.

The cabana boy did a coconut demonstration and we went across to Taha'a to go on a jeep tour where we saw a small vanilla plantation operation and went to a pearl farm, cool. Great snorkeling and they have kayaks and outriggers to use. They also just got some paddle boards. We had a massage as they sent for a young lady from Taha'a to come over and do them.

Vahine is currently building their own spa building. They have electricity and water piped over under the bay to the island. We rented a small boat from them and went to a completely deserted motu with a picnic they prepared for us, that was nice. Great personal service. It was windy the first couple of nights, needed earplugs to sleep, but you can't control the weather.

Overall, the vacation was just what we needed. A great honeymoon destination I think...Just FYI. When you go again, you should check it out. Thanks for your assistance, We will look you up again in the future!
