Women’s Ministry Moms’ Group

Mothers of infants and toddlers, our Wednesday Mom's group will continue during the summer months as an informal play group. We will meet in the toddler rooms on the main level at 9:30am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the summer months. The first two meetings will be June 12 and June 26th. International Lunch

Children's Ministry Help Needed

Our children need to hear the gospel too! We are still in need of 8 helpers and 1 six year-olds class teacher to keep Children's Ministry running for the next ministry year. Members, please consider serving! Applications are available on Sundays at the Welcome Center and a table in the lobby or 24/7 at the Children's Ministry page of our website. Parents: please remember, if you have a child/children in CM, we request that at least one parent per family serve as a helper or teacher. Personal Finance Course

This September we will offer a nine-week course on personal finance that will focus on practical application of handling money according to Biblical principles. The course will include a 45 minute DVD lecture and 45 minutes of small group discussion/workshop; topics include savings, budgeting, reducing debt and investing. Personal Finance Class

In February we will offer a 13-week course on personal finance that will focus on the practical application of handling money according to Biblical principles. This Tuesday night course from 7:00pm-9:00pm at our building will include one hour of DVD lecture and one hour of small group discussion; topics include savings, budgeting, reducing debt, and investing. Please do not file your 2011 income tax return until you receive a written acknowledgement of your contributions from the church (to be mailed out in January). Under the tax rules, you can lose the deduction of contributions over $250 if you file your tax return before receiving a receipt from the church. To be tax deductible in 2011, contributions must be received or postmarked by December 31st, 2011.

Holiday Service Schedule

The class will run for six weeks, from 8:30-9:45 a.m. in Room 202, ending June 12th (with a break for Memorial Day weekend). Requested reading for this class is You Can Change by Tim Chester, which is available in the church bookstore.

Also beginning May 1st, Seita Sakaguchi will be teaching a class entitled 2 Timothy. The class will run for six weeks, from 8:30-9:45 a.m. in Room 204, ending June 12th (with a break for Memorial Day weekend). There will be two classes occurring on Sunday evenings, July 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Vince Hinders will be teaching on the topic of “God at Work.” This class seeks to provide a Biblical perspective on God’s purpose for work, covering topics such as success, balancing priorities, and witnessing in the marketplace. Seita Sakaguchi will be teaching on the topic “The Last Things.” This class seeks to answer the question, “What happens on the last day, and how does knowing what will happen on that day inform the way we live today?” Recommended books for both classes are available for purchase in the bookstore. We are planning three Friday evening meetings on January 30th, February 13th, and February 27th for ladies 12 years and up. The theme is “A Wise Woman Builds Her Home.” Each meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Basement Auditorium. Youth Mexico Trip Fundraiser

We hope to get all copies from those wishing to sign the membership commitment signed and returned by the end of August. If you would like to sign with a pastor present, the pastors will be available after the Sunday Meeting, August 10th, to sign the commitment with you.
