Thanks for enlightening me about these bozos. Sounds like I wasn't the first one either.

Having done certified opacity readings on power plants for years, I can tell you that anything more than 30% is very noticeable. Only if they did the test like a snap throttle from idle to full are you going to get that high. Think of some old city buses that used to give off a big cloud after idling at a stop light. I can only detect any smoke behind my TDI when I floor it.
Basically, if you can barely see it, about 15%, if over 50% it is very black and dense, hard to see much behind it.

I had all belts/parts replaced about 10k ago. I'm taking it back for them to fix. They say it could be the alternator pulley.

I keep by fuel from AZBiodiesel in yellow 5gal containers in my outside tin shed year round. My wife would kill me if I brought it into the house. I have never seen a drop of water in any of the fuel containers. You would see it as bubbles at the bottom of the container as water sinks to the bottom. My shed is vented and I have had not problems. I usually use the all fuel up within 3 months and I run it at 100% in my 03 jetta.

I also work in the North Court building. You might see might car in the Northeast lot. I park on the far east side against the fence. I try and ride my bike Mon-Wed-Fri, so the car is not there as often. I've been at the plant for 21 years. Seems like a long time.

I weld on a cat shell and deleted the EGR off my 04 and passed on D2 at 0.00% last week. RC3, GT1749, no EGR, etc.

Anyone installed an aftermarket stereo in their 2000 New Beetle? If so, what brand? I'm concerned about what will work because there seem to be so many dire warnings on the Internet about equipment not working with the factory CD changer or not working at all.
