I’ve been looking for a container for my coffee beans for a while. I was pretty picky because I wanted something with a lid that but narrow, so that I can just pour my beans directly into the coffee maker. I spotted this carafe and with the cork lid, it’s a perfect vessel for pouring the beans.

Of course, I needed to label it. So I dug through my adhesive vinyl stash and found this Pearly White Etch. I found a simple font and just wrote ‘BEANS.’

Coffee Bean Canister Supplies

All you need to do is find a font you love and type the word into the cutting machine software. I like to draw a box around the letters for easy weeding.

Use the gridded transfer tape to easily line up the letters perfectly on the carafe, then smooth them down so they adhere.

Decorate a charging block with adhesive vinyl stripes with this easy to do craft.

After the great Phone Charger Debacle of 2022, I always have my own dedicated phone charger that my teens can’t steal. I don’t talk about the debacle much, but just imagine one charger and two teens with dead phones. It wasn’t pretty. While the question of where the chargers go still remains a mystery, I stay prepared with my own personal charger that is easily identifiable.

This project is great because you can use those scraps of vinyl that are too big to throw out, but can be hard to use and because you can just use a paper cutter or scissors and don’t need to pull out a craft cutting machine.

Choose the colors you want to use and then cut the vinyl into strips of various sizes. No need to overthink it!

Start at one spot and just wrap the vinyl around. Cut the end with scissors and start with a new color. I decided to only go up half way because I liked the way it looked. I’m going to pick other colors for the kids, and hopefully we will never see another debacle like the one in ’22.

Galentine’s Flute Supplies

Instructions

This project didn’t take long since I had my daughter clean all the flutes for me and wipe the outsides down with rubbing alcohol.

Creating the names with the font was fun. Make sure to use the glyphs to find the extra letters with the hearts at the end.

Type out the names in the software for your craft cutter and size them so that they are around 3 inches in length. Cut out names in the transparent vinyl. Weed the vinyl and use the gridded transfer tape to adhere to the flutes.

Cut out extra hearts to put all around the cups, avoiding the top where lips would go to take a sip.

Fill your cups with a fun drink and enjoy the love!

New year new planner! Well the last paper planner I had was in 2020, which pretty much didn’t get used. I enjoyed making my own planner pages and calendars and decorating them. Last year I used a web based calendar, so that everyone in the family could see each other’s schedules. But they never even looked at the schedules, and I found that it took me long enough to put my work schedule (it varies from day to day) that I became frustrated.

So this year, I’m back to using a paper planner. I bought on off of Amazon that has all types of goal setting sections and I’m really enjoying it. One of my big goals this year it to take the B1 certificate test for German, and I wrote that down first. I had taken a blank page in my planner and wrote down vocabulary words that I’ve been studying a few times. Then I added the transparent vinyl in a mountain sunset design. It turned out pretty cute.

Planner Page Decor Instructions

Instructions

On your planner page, handwrite some text using a black pen. I chose some vocabulary from my German vocab list, but you can use poetry or lyrics or whatever suits you.

Download your design and resize it in your electronic cutting machine software. Cut it out on the six different colors chosen for the design. I used pink, gold and orange tones in the transparent glitter vinyl. I like that vinyl because it’s not too glittery and the colors go together well.

Weed the vinyl with the weeding tool and pick up the portions of the design you want to use with the transfer tape. I like doing it piece by piece so that I can get multiples of the same design using the colors in different spots.

How cute is that little gingerbread guy?!? My daughters and I have this great plan to deliver Christmas cookies to all of our favorite local people. They have a list of what types of cookies they want to make, which include ranger cookies, toffee chocolate oatmeal cookies, chocolate shortbread cookies and pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies. That’s not an exhaustive list though, I want to make gingerbread cookies too!

This cookie bag comes together quickly. I am trying to use up some of my scrap vinyl. I am great at saving all the extra scrap vinyl, but terrible about using it. I’m super low on red and green vinyl, so it’s time to use up the leftovers!

Christmas Cookies Bag Supplies

Christmas Cookies Bag Instructions

  • Find a cute design (I found this one on the Silhouette Design Store.)
  • Download the design and resize it to the appropriate size.
  • Copy and paste the design into five tabs (one for each color.)
  • For the tab you are using for the white vinyl, delete any part of the design that will be in a different color (you might have to ungroup the design first.)
  • Do this with the rest of the colors.
  • Cut out the designs and weed the vinyl.
  • Using the gridded transfer tape, transfer the design to the bag.
  • Switch out the handles with cute holiday ribbon.
  • Fill with delicious homemade cookies and leave on your neighbors doorstep!

It’s early November and I’m slowly easing into Christmas. The Christmas season seems to start earlier and earlier each year. But whatever, we should be used to it by now. I have a mini obsession with paper garlands at the moment. I’ve seen some really cute ones with stars and trees and snowflakes. This is my first attempt at making a tree one. It turned out pretty cute.

The trees were cut out with shimmery white cardstock and then I applied the adhesive vinyl snowflakes in a glittery champagne color. The photos don’t quite capture the subtle glitter of the vinyl, but it looks beautiful.

Paper Tree Garland Supplies

Additionally, you will need a tree cut file and a snowflake background cut file for your cutting machine. I found mine in the Silhouette Design Store.

Paper Tree Garland Instructions

Download your tree cut files into your cutting machine software. Resize the trees and overlap them at the edges. Then select the whole design and use the weld tool to make them into one shape. Cut four (or more) of these out of the shimmery cardstock.

Then open up the snow flurries cut file. I made mine to fit the full 12 x 12 sheet of vinyl. It makes many little snowflakes. Cut it out and when weed out the the extra vinyl, leaving the snowflakes. Then use the transfer tape to transfer the snowflakes to the paper trees. Weeding this takes time, and for some of the trees I just pulled off the snowflakes like stickers and applied them to the trees.

Lastly, adhere the garland together using double-sided sticky tape. It holds well and the garland looks darling!

Subtle fall decor is pretty much my theme for this season. In the past, I’d go all out with crafting and decorating for the seasons, but honestly, it’s hard to find the time anymore. I still love adding hints of autumn around the house though. Especially since it’s my favorite season.

I found this cute tray at Target and decided it was perfect for a few pumpkins and a candle. The black needed a little warmth and I thought some gold leaves would help.

Supplies

Instructions

Download the wreath design and resize it to fit the tray. I set mine to be no larger than 11.3 inches.

Cut out the design with your electronic cutting machine and weed all the excess.

Using the gridded transfer tape, transfer the vinyl design to to black tray. I start by finding the middle of the tray and pressing out from there.

Witchy Kitty Soap Dispenser Supplies

All you need to do is resize your design in the software of your electronic cutting machine. Then cut it out. I cut out one in each color, so that I can mix and match the eyes.

For this project, I used a reverse weeding method, so that my intricate letters stay where I want them to be. This was a little tedious, but worth it. Lastly, I added the orange eyes. Of course, I forgot to buy soap to fill the dispensers… another trip to the store I guess!

Back to school season is here and I for one am thrilled about it! My littlest is going into first grade and she picked out the cutest new lunch bag that’s pink with cherries on it. Since she got the lunch bag, she had been looking everywhere for a charm or bag tag with cherries to clip on to it. Since she didn’t find anything she loved, I promised that I would make her a bag tag with her name on the back that she could clip to her lunch bag.

I let her choose the vinyl, and of course she chose the Red Ultra Metallic Glitter vinyl for the cherries. I don’t blame her, since the is one of my favorite vinyls to work with and look at! I also used the Tim Holtz Ranger Watercolor Cardstock for the background. It’s thick and really the only watercolor paper that I’ve found that is pure white.

Lastly, I used a thick 10 mil laminating pouch to laminate the tag. The laminator I have is really only meant to work with 3 mil an 5 mil laminating sheets, but I have used it with the 10 mil multiple times with success. I used it for a couple of my planner covers, and they are still holding strong. I use the hot setting on the laminator and let it heat up for a while, then run the project through it multiple times to make sure it’s well adhered to itself.

Download the design into your craft cutter software and resize it to size you need. For a bag tag, I kept it under 3 inches wide. Create an outline, which will be the watercolor paper background. Delete the points in the middle of the background so that the whole background is solid.

On the back of the watercolor paper, add the name, either in handwriting or cut it out in vinyl.

Put the tag inside of the laminating pouch and laminate it. Run it through the laminating machine a few time.

Cut the excess lamination off and punch a hole at the top and add your key ring clip.

Clip it on your favorite bag or lunchbox and enjoy!

This year I’m starting my first heirloom tomato garden. I ordered a bunch of heirloom tomato seeds ands started them in June for August planting. In Arizona, we have two growing seasons, spring and fall, so there’s two chances to grow tomatoes each year.

With the different varieties of tomato seedling I have, I decided to make some garden label stakes using my adhesive vinyl. I created a couple different versions, one with a white outline, which I feel I can see better, but I like the classy look of the garden stakes without the white background. Which version do you prefer?

To make these garden label stakes, you will need to to pick a font that you will find easy to read. I choose a calligraphic font called Luminari. Type out the name of your plant in your cutting machine software and resize it to fit your garden stakes. You can create an outline by using the outline tool. You might have to delete some points inside the outline if the word has letters with holes in them, such as letter P and letter O.

Cut out your designs in your vinyl weed out the letters and numbers with the weeding tool. Use the gridded transfer tape to adhere the words to the garden stake. Use the scraping tool or a credit card to get a really smooth transfer.
