anxiety over Julius Agwu’s health as he misses London’s show

There was anxiety over the health of popular comedian, Julius Agwu, on Monday, as there were reports that he was ill.

He was said to be receiving treatment in a London hospital.

While there was no confirmation yet by the comedian and his family, the reported illness particularly generated concern as Agwu was said to have missed a show he organised and held in London on Sunday.

Attempts to speak with the versatile artiste, who survived a brain surgery last year, was futile as calls put to his telephone on Monday evening were not picked.The sound, however, indicated that the line was in a roaming mode.

One of his media aides, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that he had read about the reports but had not been able to speak with Agwu.

He said, “I have been trying to speak with his wife since the morning but I have not got her. I will keep on trying. I hope that I will be able to speak with you by tomorrow morning.”

Chief Joseph Yobo, a former Captain of the Super Eagles, says the Joseph Yobo Foundation would work to release many inmates of Ikoyi Prisons, especially those awaiting trial.
Yobo spoke at the inauguration of Ikoyi Prisons Football Academy on Saturday in Lagos. “I have never been to the prisons before but on getting to Ikoyi Prisons, I realised the need to give hope to someone.
“The Joseph Yobo Foundation is ready to do everything within its means to grant bail to as many as possible that are awaiting trial, especially those in the facility’s football academy.
“I am happy with what is going on in this facility. I have never been here before but when I got here, what I saw jolted me,’’ he said.
“I thought I will see persons looking very sad, rushing to go out but rather, I saw them very happy, cheerful and looking very hopeful.
“I must indeed commend the authorities of the Nigerian Prisons Service because from what I have seen on ground, the service is in the right track.’’
Yobo said that it was in this light that his foundation would seek to secure the bail for some of the inmates, train them and support them in the academy.
“We in our little way will want to give back to the society by giving hope to our brothers here behind the bars and give them a second chance because no one is above mistake.
“Having stayed here for a while, I am convinced that they must have undergone a great deal of reformation and rehabilitation,’’ he said.
One of footballer inmates, who did not want his name mentioned, said he was looking forward to benefitting from the foundation.
He added that with his experience so far he would not disappoint those behind the initiative.
Joseph Yobo Foundation is collaborating with Sisters Cities Vocational/Rehabilitation Centre and the Nigerian Prisons Service in the latter’s football academy project, “Football Stars Behind Bars’’.
NAN reports that among the dignitaries that graced the event was a former Governor of Cross River, Donald Duke and his wife, Onari.

There was this professionalism, love, care but the new Nollywood shows a lot of desperation.
There is a struggle to outshine the other person. It is not a bad development but when it becomes a selfish thing, then there is a problem. Aside from that, there is a lot of improvement in terms of scripting, camera quality and storylines.

7 Times Freeze’s Mouth Has Put Him In Trouble

Popular on air personality (OAP) known as Freeze, has been fired by Cool FM.A source confirmed, this was a result of his last controversial post where he shared a photo cuddling ace comedian Basketmouth’s wife whom he referred to as an old family friend.

According to Kemi Filani, Basketmouth who didn’t react publicly was instrumental to his sack and at the moment..Freeze is begging his employers to reconsider

He has since deleted the post about Basketmouth’s wife but apparently, the damage had been done as many found the post distasteful despite his long-standing public beef with the comedian.Freeze who joined the radio station in 2001 is still begging the management to reconsider

However, this is not the first time Freeze’s mouth has put him in trouble, but it seems his cup finally overflew when he threw shades at Basketmouth’s wife.

On-air-personality (OAP) Freeze has had a run-in with quite a number of people in the past. He has been very vocal about his opinions on trending issues in the country, which of course has not helped him in any way.

Below are some of the things Freeze said that didn’t seat too well with those on the receiving ends:

1. During the 2015 edition of Olamide Live In Concert which Basketmouth anchored he made a joke about Freeze’s wife beating him and this did not go down well with the OAP who took to his Instagram page to reply the comedian in his own language. And the social media war began with both.

2. In a reaction to the President Buhari’s certificate saga, Freeze wrote that:

“Nigerians are busy hounding him for a certificate. If you guys don’t mind, he can come and have mine. I will even add my UI BSC in Sociology as I have never needed the certificate.”

3. Ooni of Ife Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Whatsapp Following the VISIT of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to the famous Nigerian football striker Obafemi Martins at his residence, Freeze took to his social media handle to indirectly throw shades at the king.

He posted a picture of the Ooni of Ife at a door with the caption: “Knock knock at my door, who could it be? Perhaps it’s the Ooni of Ife coming to visit me.”

4. Pastor TB Joshua Hours after Brussel’s terror attack that killed over 30 people leaving many wounded, the Synagogue Church Of All Nations leader Prophet T.B. Joshua came forward to claim that he predicted the attack. Freeze slammed the prophet saying:

“Baba, leave story you didn’t predict jack! Northern French country ko, southern Portuguese country ni! Shior!!! Your so called prediction killed about 30 while in your own backyard 116 were killed. Baba, leave this one and go and predict #SureBet make boys hammer!”

Freeze had also attacked the prophet earlier when he slammed the justice system for letting the prophet go free while they arrested the MD of Lekki Gardens.

5. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo: Freeze blames COZA Pastor Fatoyinbo for Ese Walter denouncing God. Walter is the woman Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly had an affair with. Walter is now married to Freeze’s friends. He wrote:“I read with pain in my heart the story that Ese nee Walter who happens to be a close friend’s wife, has stopped believing in GOD. And I cannot but cast my mind to her ordeal in the hands of a so called man of God!…”

6. Noble Igwe Newly married Noble Igwe had shared on social media that he doesn’t want to stress his wife if she does not feel like cooking and thus will eat out. Days later Freeze took to social media to talk about Noble’s arrangement with his wife.

7. Tiwa Savage Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Whatsapp Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz During the heat of Tiwa Savage marriage mess with her husband Tunji Teebillz Balogun, Freeze took to his Instagram and wrote to Savage on her marriage.

Salesboy Hires Armed Robbers To Attack His Boss In Lagos

Three men who specialize in breaking into shops at the Mushin and Ladipo Auto Spare parts market in Lagos state are telling Federal Special Anti- robbery Squad FSARS policemen how they perpertrate the act.

The suspects were arrested following a tip off that they were allegedly breaking into a building material stall to cart away valuables and cash but luck ran out on three members of the six man gang as they were nabbed in the act.

According to the police, the suspects and thier gang members were allegedly behind series of burglary at Mushin and Ladipo market.

Following interrogation, the suspects who gave thier names as Ebuka Ubajide, Ifeanyi Okoye, and Emeka Ilebunam stated that thier leader one Chibuzor got the guns and cutter they use to break into the shops.

Two of the suspects, Ebuka Ubajide and Emeka Ilebunam confessed that they are sales boys at the Ladipo market.

Ebuka who claimed he has been to two robbery operations with the gang revealed that Emeka hired them to rob his boss so they can make quick money. Ebuka Ubajide who claimed to be 24 years old said “ I am from Anambra state. I am a sales boy in Ladipo market. I met one Ekene while I was serving my master at the market.However, sometimes last month, I asked Ekene how life was treating him and he said I should meet him at Isolo after the day’s job. I got to the spot where he was and I saw his friends with him. One of his friends called Chibuzor brought took us in his car for operation at Mushin where were broke into the shops and stole money.

The second operation at Ladipo market was orchestrated by Emeka. We met at our usual spot at Isolo and Chibuzor asked Emeka what is job was. Emeka told him that he was helping his boss to sell building materials.

Chibuzor said Emeka will take us to his master’s shop and that was how we got them. Chibuzor brought out the guns and the cutter but as we were about to attack the shop that night, police men came from nowhere and attacked us.

Chibuzor and two other guys escaped but we were not lucky’ Emeka on his part blamed bad friends for luring him to the gang.

He said “ My friends told me about attacking my boss’s shop. I felt there was money in the shop so I invited them to rob my boss. This is my first time. I felt there was money in the shop but we were arrested in the act and I regret my action”.

The third suspect Okoye said other gang members invited him from Abia state any time they are going onrobbery operations. He said “ I am from Abia state. I don’t know how the police got wind of our operations. I regret joining them”.

Saturday Mirror gathered that the police recovered two guns and a cutter from the gang and are on the trail of other members of the gang.

The coach revealed he has not been contacted by any staff of the Sports Ministry or Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), since he arrived from the Games.
“My next step is that I am done with Nigeria for now,” Siasia told Vanguard.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi and Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez are on the verge of signing for Arsenal.

Walking on the street that leads to my workshop, I stopped by my ‘customers’ shop to exchange pleasantries.
We were still talking when a lady that sells ‘okpa’ came around to collect her money from those who bought but didn’t pay immediately. A particular guy started teasing her with subtle threats not to pay her.
The drama became irritating and I asked my customer why he couldn’t just hand over the money to her so she could continue with her daily hussle. He smiled and said ‘he had slept with her’

What has that got to do with anything.., I asked?

You won’t understand. He slept with her and told his friends about it. Everybody here knows he slept with her.. I’m sure others have taken their rounds to sleep with her.

Why are you telling me this? What will this information do in my life? He slept with her.. And so??

Don’t you know her dignity and honor as a lady has been shattered??

At this point I was visibly annoyed.. Which dignity? So having consensual sex with a fellow adult will reduce a lady’s dignity while that of the man would stay intact.You are a lady. If it is public knowledge that a man slept with you, it is a thing of shame.

See ehn, if I have sex with a man and he decides to tell the whole street that he had sex with me, it wouldn’t faze me a bit. I would make sure I walk the street each day with head held high. However, if the court temporarily denies the application, the counsel would again rise in open court and passionately plead with the trial judge to allow his client remain in EFCC holding facility, pending the determination of bail, or, where his application was granted, pending fulfilment of bail conditions.

Notwithstanding this, some people with ulterior motives have continuously sponsored false stories likening detention in EFCC facilities to being held in dungeons where torture and other forms of human rights abuses are commonplace.
The Commission however prides itself as meeting the highest possible professional standards in all its operations. Such unprofessional practices are not only outlawed in EFCC, they are regarded as criminal and anyone who engages in them, risks severe sanctions, including administrative reprimand and criminal prosecution
EFCC has arguably, the best holding facilities of all law enforcement and security agencies in Nigeria. To prove this to sceptics, Commission on Thursday, 25th August, 2016, threw its facilities in Abuja, open for inspection by journalists from all media persuasions, including those who had unwittingly helped to propagate false notions about detention in the EFCC.
The media men saw things firsthand and freely interacted and conducted interview with suspects of their own choosing. They also toured the clinic attached to the cells, fully manned and run 24 hours round-the-clock by two qualified medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals. Among the other medical and diagnostic facilities, is a dedicated ambulance. The journalists also saw the meals served the suspects, which are sourced from the EFCC Staff Canteen. Those who prefer relatives to bring their meals from home, are so obliged. At the end of the tour, one reporter described the detention facilities as â€˜A guest house for the big boysâ€™.
Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, challenged the reporters thus:
“If anyone of you think all these have been arranged, you are welcome to come at anytime you chose, to spend time with us and see for yourself (you can even spend some days in the cell); see how EFCC carries out investigation, arrest, interrogation and if you want, be detained as long as you say, in any of our facilities across the country. You don’t need to give us prior notice of your coming. You can even arrange it as a group of reporters if you don’t want to come alone.”
