I’ve got a thing about a well-designed CV. Nice, neat marks on crisp, clean paper. There’s nothing quite like it. And so I was stoked when I had the opportunity to help create the style, layout and (occasionally) content for resumeheaven.com.

It’s basically a newsletter registration website that runs off of WordPress and Feedburner allowing an exchange of emails for a monthly newsletter with a range of useful resources to help with your CV and to get that job.

I’m interested in the popularity aspect and to see how integrating this newsletter with social media sites such as twitter will help spread the word of this site. The newsletter contains rewards for following on twitter, submitting content, and there are positioned advertisements and affiliated links so the site will make enough money to cover its hosting. This is what this year’s business cards look like. They come in 5 different colours on the reverse and are printed on 350gsm sustainably sourced matt-laminated stock.

Welcome to the all new Sparkwood and 21 2010 website. Its function is to show off my work with the minimum of fuss. My promise is that I will leave it here for the whole of 2010 without significantly mucking about with it. Tweaking, yes… but as a freelance designer I need a portfolio website, and this is it.

The notebook is for passing useful, important or relevant information. I don’t expect to post regularly here, but if I do, it will be of value. For a proper blogging experience, I’d check out my personal website.

This website has been built with WordPress, a lot of coffee, and a heavily modified version of Ulf Pettersson’s Modern WordPress Theme.
