For the second time, I’ve dipped below 170 in my weight loss. It makes me nervous. I’m so close to goal yet so far.

Sometimes I think we thwart our own success when we become afraid of it. Eat a little more, work out a little less. Subconsciously, of course.

I don’t think it’s on purpose. It’s just…when I reach my goal weight what next? What do I have to work forward to? It’s all about maintenance at that point. That may be more challenging than losing a pound a week. Funny thing is it’s not like I know for sure since I’ve not actually experienced it.

All my life I was thin. I wouldn’t say I was healthy because I ate crap most every day. Yet, I was thing. Metabolism was on my side back then. Now, that it’s not I have to work that much harder to stay trim. Sometimes I feel like giving up but then my main reason for being thin is

So, this week I’m going to focus less on the scale and more on how I’m feeling about what I’ve experienced so far: leaner arms, a slightly smaller waist (and I do mean slightly LOL!) and more energy.

We live in a fallen world. There’s nothing perfect here. That’s why we have such sadness in the world.

Sadness is something that we all encounter at some point in life. None of us are exempt. We experience losses which can cause us to be sad but God doesn’t want us to wallow in sadness. He wants us to exchange our sadness for His joy. How?

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 ”Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.” Then, in Psalm 30:11 it says “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.”

Clearly God doesn’t want us sad!

How to Exchange God’s Joy for Your Sadness

Now that you know God doesn’t want you sad, how do you trade it in for joy? It may seem oversimplified, but when you are sad, speak out loud that you choose God’s joy. Then pray and ask God to honor His Word. He will.

Much of what we get out of this life comes by way of our mouths. You’ve heard, “You are what you eat.” You also are what you speak.

Jesus said, “Speak to the mountain to be removed and it shall move.” (Mark 11:23). “Life and death is in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” is recorded in Proverbs (18:21).

Exchange your sadness for God’s joy today. It’s His will and He loves you very much!

Feast on this: The joy of the Lord is my strength Nehemiah 8:10

When you think of kids with special needs and their caregivers, who usually comes to mind? Mom right?

Well dads are super fabulous and to be recognized too! There’s in particular that comes to mind…

Buc Williams

I met Buc on Facebook and he’s asked that I share something with you. He wrote a special song inspired by his very special son. The son teaches us the importance of inclusion, understanding and acceptance for children/people with disabilities.

This song is called “The Little Bus”.

Buc’s son, Thomas is seven years old and suffers from severe Epilepsy. Thomas’ condition inspired Buc to write the song.. It is available on iTunes the proceeds from sales of the song will benefit several special needs organizations including the Miracle Baseball League!

How wonderful is that? Very inspiring and worth while.

While Thomas’ special needs baseball team isn’t the same one that my CJ plays for, it’s another chapter and benefits children with special needs. You can preview and purchase the song here:

I spend so much time worrying about my troubled areas that I almost missed how nicely my arms were toning up. My biceps are noticeable and I’m thrilled! This is just the encouragement I’ve needed to keep pressing forward toward my weight loss goals. I still have lots of work to do but this is serious progress.

Oh and that pic is from a clip of a video I was creating for my YouTube beauty channel. I was applying henna to my hair and demonstrating it for my subscribers. Hence, the green stuff on my arm.

I just have no better word to express what it is that I am going through when it comes to working out, exercise and getting fit.

I have such a hard time focusing on work out programs. Most of them are either 6 weeks or longer and my attention span for exercise isn’t that long.
