Dodge has unveiled another special edition car ‘Mopar Challenger’ for the US market. Based on the Challenger R/T, the car features a Brilliant Black paint job, a few stripes, a ventilated bonnet, black chrome pieces and a set of 20-inch wheels. Inside, the car gets Katzkin leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a new gear knob. Meanwhile, power comes from a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 277kW and 545Nm of torque. Limited to just 500 units, the Mopar Challenger will go on sale in August for a starting price of $38,000.

Nissan North America’s executive vice president, Carlos Tavares, has announced that the Nissan Leaf will be launched in the US market in December 2010. The Leaf’s battery pack will be covered by an 8-year or a 100,000-mile warranty. The electric car will first launch in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Tennessee. Following that initial wave, the eco-friendly car will be sent to Texas and Hawaii in January 2011. Next up will be North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina and Alabama in April 2011. Expression Motorsport has unveiled their newest styling package for the Mercedes CL65 AMG. The car gets a new aerodynamic kit which includes a new front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights, larger air intakes, new fog lights, wider fenders and new side skirts. Meanwhile, the rear part of the car receives a new diffuser with a re-designed bumper and a discreet boot lid spoiler. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet.

The Chevy Volt electric car is now available for purchase. GM will release the Volt in seven regions including California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Michigan, and Texas. The base model will include a number of high-tech features, such as Bluetooth connectivity, a navigation screen, and five years of GM’s OnStar service. There will also be four options, such as a rear camera, a more expensive paint package, and different wheels. The Chevy Volt is expected to be delivered to your doorstep later this year if you are one of the 10,000 people who placed an order for it already. [CNet]

BMW has finally confirmed the Gran Coupe Concept, which will become a 6-Series “four-door coupe.” Klaus Draeger, a member of BMW’s Board of Management, stated the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe will be launched in late 2012.
