They will find all kinds of excuses to say that we didn't do the job properly, when in true fact we did the job satisfactorily and even got them to acknowledge that it was done properly.

Then when it comes time to pay us after a few weeks (some of these idiot clients have 30 days credit terms), they will say that your sticker is coming out. The color not right, the sky is purple, the moon is bright pink, anything just to avoid paying for the job.

There are times when I feel like just walloping them across the head with a baseball bat. At least that way, they don't have to pay me and I'll be satisfied! I think I'd better go check some fixed annuity rates, at least I won't get depressed reading those!

Broaden My Horizons

A friend asked me today if I had a dowel pin at home. I gave him this blurry look and asked him just what the heck a dowel pin is?

I've never even heard of the word dowel let alone know what it is. A pin maybe, but a dowel pin? Geez, I really should start reading a lot more and broaden my horizons. I'll bet all of you know what a dowel pin is except me. Maybe I should read the dictionary for an hour every night before I sleep. But then again, I bet I'll fall asleep right away the moment I read one sentence from a dictionary ... The weekend was a tired but eventful one. Thank god tomorrow is a holiday though I don't think I'll be getting any rest cos I intend to wake up early and go for a morning run.

Yes, runners are a crazy lot. On holidays and weekends while most people sleep in, we wake up at ungodly hours just to torture ourselves by running god knows how long ... LOL! Well, at least after the run tomorrow, I can sit and look into finding out just who sterkly on Linkedin is.

Suspicious Minds

I had an early morning call at the office for some work enquiry. It was a strange conversation with this person asking if can duplicate some certificates. Well, to be honest, we probably could but it would depend on the original cert and if there were security features on it or not cos we won't and can't duplicate official security protect items.

But the person kept insisting that we must not divulge to anyone about this duplication if we could do it which raised my suspicion about this guy. Maybe I should really do a back ground check before even talking further to this unknown stranger.

We meet all kinds of weirdos in my line of work!

Treasure Island

I was out shopping with the wife today and came across some awesome log beds in one of the furniture outlets there. I was so taken in by it that I wanted to get one for our room even!

In fact I would have, had we not just a few months ago bought ourselves a new bed from IKEA. I kinda liked the log beds cos it reminded me of Treasure Island, not that they had logs beds in Treasure Island mind you. Sometimes my mind works in weird ways ... LOL!

But in the end, after seeing the price, I decided that maybe our good old, or rather new IKEA bed would suffice for now!

Numb Mind

I'm so exhausted from working like a slave the past two weeks that I'm suffering from adipotril side effects. In fact, please don't even ask me what the heck that is cos I just don't know.

My mind is so exhausted, if you asked me my name, I'd have to whip out my wallet, dig out my ID and check my name! That's how tired I am. And what is going to make it worse is I have a15.5KM race to run tomorrow night ... siggghhh ...

But tired or not, I'm pretty excited about the race tomorrow. I hope the weather holds out though. Normally that wouldn't be too much of a problem but I have to be up at 6.30am and be in the city by 8.00am for an early morning installation. It actually isn't all that far or long to drive into the city but heck, traffic on a work day is extremely horrendous and I'm not at all looking forward to the drive.

Maybe I should start working by audio teleconferencing all my clients in future. At least that way I can still be in bed and work at the same time!

Magical Bracelets

Do you believe in charm bracelets? One of my walk in clients came in today to print some stuff and he was sporting this groovy looking colorful bracelet. I asked him what's with the psychedelic band around his wrist and he said it was to give him good luck in business and to protect him from bad mojo!

Say what? Seriously, does things like that really work? I'm amazed at some of lengths and stuff people would believe to increase their good fortunes. Let's get real, is wearing a bracelet with supposedly magical properties around your wrist going to make you richer? I thought you need to work hard to become rich? Each to his own I suppose.

GPS

I'm looking at buying a new GPS watch and Mrs. Spiff thinks I'm looney! I already have one GPS watch that I use for my runs at the moment which is the Garmin Forerunner 610 but I've got my eye on the Forerunner 910XT. It's a piece of beauty and can be used even while swimming. Not that I can actually swim, mind you :D But I have this thing for gps
and garmin and besides, it would look cool on my wrist.
What the heck is wrong with the weather these days? If it rains, it pours. If it's hot, it's blistering. Even standing in the shade is enough to make you sweat profusely, let alone moving pallet racks!
Woke up to a spinning room and woozy feeling with an equally horrible morning to accompany it.

I haven't had a day like this in ages and I'm really not looking forward to the rest of the day! The only consolation is tomorrow is Saturday and I have a race to run this Sunday. Maybe I should have just put myself on rogue status and stay home in bed sleeping the day away.

Well, it just happened to me. I just had an enquiry for the office from a client looking for crowd control equipment for an event. You know the kind of barricades that with a velvet rope attached to it. The kind that you find in bank queues, concerts and stuff?

Well, I know I've seen loads of places selling that stuff but now that I need it, for the life of me, I can't seem to find a single one! This always happens, when you need it the most, you will never find it but once the need is gone, it'll just like pop out of nowhere right in from of you.
I've really got to keep track of all the things that I need to do like this yamaha
dtxplorer brochure that needs to be looked into which completely slipped my mind.

I've really got to either write all this stuff down or get my supposedly smart phone to send me reminders. If this keeps up, one day I'll even forget to wear pants to work!!!

Time Flies!

The days are passing by faster than you can say protostar yoyo! One minute it was just the beginning of the year and in the blink of an eye, it's already mid February.

Where did the time go? I mean, I don't remember much of what happened the past one and a half months. I can't recall time moving so fast before. Could there be a rip in the space time continuum or something? I don't mind the time moving so fast but that would mean I'll get older all that much faster! It's not like I'm a young, strapping, handsome lad of 24 anymore (though I do feel like I'm in my twenties ... hehehe) and getting older faster is not something I'm looking forward to!
What Holiday?

It's still a holiday in some parts of this country including where I live but unfortunately I can't really enjoy it as I have to go in to the office today ... siggghhh ... it's not by choice, mind you. My partner in the office thinks we have too much holidays and decided not to declare it an official holiday which I think is a little silly cos both KL and PJ are off today and that would mean our customers don't work either.

We'd probably loose more opening the office today than actually make any profit. Sometimes I can't understand the logic but what to do, have to show up or the boys will think us senior people have life easy. Maybe I could use the free time to do all those cd replication I've been putting off.

Back To Work

Today is the last day of mt CNY holiday. Normally we'd be off the entire week but I have to go in to the office tomorrow for some directors meeting to discuss the direction, aim and how to generate more business after the CNY holidays are over and work starts in full gear again.

I hope we don't take too long and start discussing about Ladies Hats or stuff like that cos I'm so not in the mood to work just yet. Must be the fact that everyone else is still on holiday. At least the roads will be clear, that's a plus point.

Layla

I was going through my old files just now. This is the real hardcopy kinda files, not the kind of files on your hard disc's just so you don't get confused, ya.

I happened to come across an old concert ticket. It was the one and only concert I ever attended and it was the time when Eric Clapton came to Malaysia to perform. I'm a huge fan of the man and I saved up every cent I had just so I could by a ticket and watch the great Eric Clapton strut his stuff on his signature Fender Stratocaster.

I was mesmerized. I can still remember standing just mere meters away from the stage and was utterly hypnotized when he belted out Layla, one of my favourite numbers. I was so captivated that I missed getting my hands on his guitar pick when he threw it into the audience after the song. It landed just a few feet from me before it was snapped up by someone ... siggghhh ...

even though it was years ago, I can still remember the concert as if it was yesterday.

Scorched Mind

I hate being sick! I absolutely hate it! I abhor it! Unfortunately right now I'm down with a terrible bout of the flu, sniffles and fever. The heatwave that we're going through right now doesn't seem to help it one bit.

My nose is dripping like a leaky faucet that if I put a bucket underneath it, it'll fill up in no time and probably ruin this book pottery barn coupons on that I'm reading. And please don't ask me why I'm even reading books on pottery barns. It must be the heat that's playing havoc in my mind.

I think I'll go lie down now.

Hot, Hot And Hot!

The weather has taken a turn for the worse. The past two months has been wet, wet and more wet but now it's hot, hot and more hot. It's blistering outside. The air-conditioning in my room is having to work three times as hard just to keep me cool.

Trying to concentrate on making some electronic payments for a few running items I bought is taking a huge effort just to make sure I key in the details correctly. On one hand, it's going to be a nice cool beautiful night but on the other hand it's going to ruin my run this evening. By the sounds of the rain drops pitter-pattering on the awnings outside, it looks like the run is off for today ... siggghhh ... Oh well there's always tomorrow anyway.

I could just run in the rain but I get sick very easily if I'm out in the rain for too long and I don't want to fall sick, especially so near to Christmas. Looks like I'm going to have to sit here and finish reading this Treksta evolution Mid article I just downloaded yesterday. It looks like an interesting read anyway.
