From June 20-22, 2014, we convened exciting creative talent from Canada’s capital and other cities for Prints & Inks 2014, an event featuring the diverse field of print and graphic arts. It took place at the multidisciplinary collaboration venue, IdeaSpace in Ottawa.

The weekend-long show featured a  selection of over 30 exciting Canadian talent in print, illustration and design, curated by Spins & Needles co-founder and creative director Melanie Yugo. Alongside the show was a pop-up shop, hands-on print activities, and a late-night art party. The work of Spins & Needles Silkscreening 101 Workshop alumni was also on display. Original, affordable artwork, limited edition prints, clothing, zines and other print items were available for purchase.

This November, we’re excited to present the Holiday Assembly, a new take on the holiday cultural experience in Canada’s capital.

The Holiday Assembly (aka Night Market) will take place on Friday, November 22nd from 8 p.m – 12 a.m. at the Canadian Museum of Nature. We’ll be teaming up with the Museum as part of their night time public program Nature Nocturne,  and as part of Apt 613’s Support Local Month in Ottawa.

This interactive late night at the Canadian Museum of Nature will feature underground DJ sounds, art installations, seasonal workshops and a holiday night market of unique gifts for men and women. Gathering together peeps in the city’s burgeoning creative scene and beyond. Plus lots of traditional festive cheer.

We’ll be in the 4th Floor Gallery, top floor. You’ll have access to nature exhibits and other activities throughout the Museum that evening.

Part of the Museum’s Nature Nocturne series and Support Local month in Ottawa.

At this art + decor edition, refresh your walls and shelves, start a collection, or exchange pieces.

> Bring up to 5 art + decor items for swapping (such as prints, paintings, mirrors, frames, wall hangings, ceramics, pillows, lamps etc.). Be selective with what you bring: the idea is quality not quantity. PS No big furniture pieces please
> Arrive at 7 p.m. with your items. Grab a glass of wine and beer and do some socializing while items are sorted.
