FOX 2026 Fall Primetime Lineup - When do Your Favourite Shows Premiere?

FOX is once again leaning heavily on its successful unscripted lineup this fall, with reality competitions taking over much of the weekly schedule. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will feature returning reality competition favourites and Tuesdays remain dedicated to medical dramas. Following its successful winter debut, Best Medicine moves into the fall lineup alongside Doc.

The network's biggest scheduling adjustment comes on Sundays. While Animation Domination remains largely intact, Animal Control shifts from Thursdays to the 8:30 p.m. slot, making it the lone live-action comedy among FOX's animated lineup.

FOX is opting for a streamlined rollout, with nearly all of its fall premieres arriving during a single launch week beginning Monday, September 21. The week wraps up on Sunday with the debut of FOX's animated block, as well as Animal Control.

Several scripted series will instead be saved for midseason. Murder in a Small Town and Memory of a Killer are both set to return in early 2027, joined by animated favourites American Dad!, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, and Krapopolis.

Looking further ahead, FOX is preparing to debut two high-profile dramas in 2027. Baywatch will receive a modern reboot featuring an entirely new cast led by Stephen Amell, while The Interrogator stars Stephen Fry as an MI6 operative assembling a specialized team to hunt down some of the world's most dangerous criminals.

CBS is ready to kick off the 2026-27 television season, revealing both its fall primetime lineup and the premiere dates for its upcoming slate of programming.

This year's schedule combines established favourites with several new additions. Among the newcomers is NCIS: New York, which brings LL Cool J back to the NCIS universe alongside Hawaii Five-0 alum Scott Caan. CBS is also welcoming back more than a dozen returning series, including Marshals, Tracker and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

ABC Fall 2026 Premiere Dates: Here's When Your Favorite Shows Return

ABC has announced its fall 2026 premiere schedule following another impressive broadcast season.

The new season gets underway with a special two-night launch for Dancing with the Stars. Fresh off its 34th season—which attracted more than half a billion fan votes and earned its first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Reality Competition Program in 10 years—the series returns on Tuesday, September 15. It will be followed by the Season 2 premiere of R.J. Decker at 10:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 30, ABC's comedy lineup expands with back-to-back episodes of the revived Scrubs. Beginning October 7, Emmy-winning comedy Abbott Elementary joins the Wednesday lineup at 8:30 p.m.

Drama fans can look forward to Thursday, October 15, when ABC reunites its powerhouse Thursday lineup. 9-1-1 returns at 8:00 p.m., followed by 9-1-1: Nashville at 9:00 p.m., with Grey's Anatomy closing out the night at 10:00 p.m.

ABC has also confirmed that several returning favorites, including The Bachelor, High Potential, The Rookie, Shifting Gears, and Will Trent, will return in 2027. The network's new series The Rookie: North and the currently untitled Grey's Anatomy spinoff are also slated to premiere next year. Premiere dates for those titles will be announced at a later time.

Anna Pigeon - The Preacher - Review : Believe In The Power Of Nature

Third episode of Anna Pigeon and we are really starting to learn who she is at the core, not the Anna in grief and not the Anna who is running but truly Anna.

Honestly I couldn’t praise these first three episodes of this show enough, there is not one part of it that I am not liking. I love that we are continuing with starting and ending the episode with a quote, I think it can definitely be classed as a trade mark for this show now.

This was the first episode where we have truly seen Anna start to build her life in the park, her relationships with everyone have developed and it’s great to see. I’m very much enjoying her and Jessie being together, she is yet to really start showing more parts of herself to him but she is showing that she wants to get to know him and be with him.

The moment at the end where she said she wants to see his talent because it’s him. It also paired perfectly with the last scene where her wearing his cowboy hat was great, as everyone knows hat rules say she was showing that she is with him and that happening publicly at an event shows just how much he is enjoying getting to know him.

I really enjoyed the fact that Anna was showing skepticism with the pastor about being able to move on with your past and by the end of the episode she was reassuring him that she does believe that you can. I think that was also some words for her own journey, it was sort of a double entendre for her life and for the pastor's life. The dynamic between Rodger Cross (Pastor Nelson) and Tracy Spiridakos (Anna Pigeon) was amazing, I hope we could possibly get to see more of those two together.

This was the episode that finally confirmed that Stanton has feeling for Anna, I’ve been questioning it since the start but it was nice to see how squirmy he got when he was pressed about it. Honestly as much as I love Jessie and Anna, I feel like they are a good fling but Stanton and Anna would be a good long term thing. I obviously highly doubt that this will be a relationship that blossoms quickly but I can’t wait to see how things play out for them.

Especially now that he is fully looking into Zach’s murder without Anna’s permission. I also hope at some point we get to see how they actually met because that is currently unknown, we just know that in the first episode she had an old card of his in her car.

There are two absolutes about Anna’s personality; she is a heavy drinker and has a huge problem with authority. I’m sure eventually the drinking will die down but I think that defiance towards authority will continue and I really hope it does.

Personally it’s one of the things that make me like her character so much, she just wants to do what she feels is right at the time. She is so earnest and deadpan when she does things she knows she shouldn't. It’s the little comments like “I didn’t go inside” after tackling Ken and then walking off saying “ ahh my back” that make her so likeable. You truly can’t help but laugh out loud when she makes her quips.

Outer Banks - Season 5 - Review : The Story Is Over

It’s Official, Outer Banks has closed the door on its story.

For the majority of the episodes I was having my own questions on whether or not the legend of the Blue crown was real or not. I think that is what made this season feel okay to watch, the audience was going through some of the same emotions that the characters were going through and so you could relate a little bit. There was a lot of this season that I really didn’t like, frankly I feel like it ruined the show for me.

Honestly I have a lot more feelings about this final season than I expected that I would. After the end of last season I was really only watching to see how they wrapped up the story, I certainly wasn’t expecting to enjoy any of it, and I did enjoy some of it but overall I wasn’t that big of a fan. I genuinely never imagined that I would say this but, my issue with the season wasn’t them not bringing JJ back. I’m actually glad that they didn’t, although I do wish they never killed him in the first place.

As much as I love the OG Pogues and was incredibly upset with losing JJ last season, I think it made more sense for him to not come back. Right from the beginning, the show has the notion that ‘you can’t kill a pogue’. OBX has never been a realistic portrayal of life, however by having them actually lose someone it gave a certain edge to this final season.

There were many moments where I was sure that we could lose another one of the pogues before the show ended, but to say it made me anywhere near as upset as when JJ died would be a lie. At one point I even questioned if they all might die and this was a story told by John B and Sarah on the loss of all their friends.

I really did love that the season started with a flashback to how Kie and JJ met and obviously the subsequent second flashback with JJ stealing. It gave more depth to their relationship without bringing JJ back from the dead. The casting was spot on for the pair’s younger selves.

Also in no way did I not enjoy the acting, I thought everyone this season was incredible and was very committed. However I just don’t think that the script did the characters justice, we literally ended the show with the Pogues essentially becoming kooks.

If I’m completely honest, my first biggest bug bear was that I really wasn’t a fan of how Kiara acted throughout most of this season. I absolutely understand that her boyfriend/best friend was killed in front of her by his dad and there was nothing she could do to save him. However it was mentioned that JJ would not want this and with Pope going through his own troubles about killing someone, I’m shocked by how much she wanted to and eventually did kill Groff. The wrecklessness that she showed for 90% of the episode just didn’t make any sense to me.

The fact that she put herself in many situations where she could die herself just to kill Groff was insane, and then for the ending to be that because she murdered him she was healed made no sense. I was genuinely hoping after her moment with the blue crown and the flashbacks that she would give up on killing Groff but apparently not. To me she would still be mourning JJ heavily and if not be more upset because killing Groff was never going to bring back JJ.

It seemed like a relief that he was gone so now she could move on with her life, I get the premise of why her character would be so different after JJ’s death but even the fact that none of the other pogues really tried to stop her shocked me. We could have had a conversation between Kie and Rafe about how killing someone doesn’t make you feel better, or even between Kie and Pope, and he had to kill to save himself, Kie intentionally murdered someone who wasn’t even trying to kill her. I just wish that her character had a better closure at the end of the season than murder, especially since it paints the idea that an eye for an eye is an okay thing and that it will make everything feel better.

My other biggest bug bear about this final season was the timeline. It genuinely hurt my head to think about where we actually were. We had so many flashbacks and flashforwards that by the third episode I was baffled as to when things happened. I just truly did not understand how everything linked together in the timeline and if I was watching the ‘present’ or ‘past’. Also with ten episodes I think a lot of it could have been slowed down, every single episode was so full on with about fifteen different things going on at once and jumping timelines and locations made it very confusing.

The amount of things that happened to Sarah whilst she was pregnant and at no point really other than when she passed out was recognised that there could be an issue with the baby was ridiculous. She was literally jumping from one bridge to another and rolling, then climbing through a car window, getting punched in the gut and multiple other things that definitely would not be recommended for a pregnant woman.

I completely get that the show has always essentially been a recount to John B’s child so them not having a child at the end of the show wouldn’t have made any sense, but truly the most mention we got about the safety of the baby was from Rafe.

On the topic of Rafe, I’m actually really annoyed that he didn’t have repercussions for killing Peterkin. Honestly it just grated on me that he seemingly gets to go and live the life he wants to with the woman he loves. I think a better ending for Rafe would have been for him to turn himself in, it just removed any form of growth that he had over the seasons and sent him straight back to season one Rafe, running from cops.

It was genuinely like the point of season 5 was to just blow up everything (sometimes literally) that was there in season one. Yes we had the flashbacks from over the seasons but honestly every time I saw one of those season 1-3 flashbacks it just made me wish the show had stopped after season 3. The innocence and family bond of why so many people loved this show just got completely dissolved in this season.

Overall I think if I was to recommend this show to someone I would say to watch Season 1-3 and stop, I just think this season could have been so much better and actually brought a good ending to the pogues but it just missed the mark massively.

How New Jersey Became American Television's Favourite Backdrop

New Jersey has spent decades being teased, misunderstood and turned into shorthand for a certain kind of American life. Television helped build that image, then complicated it. The state can be suburban comfort, mob territory, beach chaos, corporate unease or a polished stand-in for somewhere else.
That range is why cameras keep coming back. New Jersey offers recognizable character without forcing every production into one visual identity.

New Jersey doesn’t need to pretend it has personality

The obvious starting point is The Sopranos. Its diners, driveways, strip malls and highways made North Jersey part of the show’s emotional language. The setting wasn’t decoration. It told viewers who these people were before anyone opened their mouth.

Reality television pushed that identity in another direction. Jersey Shore turned the coast into pop-culture shorthand, while The Real Housewives of New Jersey built drama around homes, restaurants and family spaces that felt specific to the state. Season 15 recently wrapped filming after a two-year hiatus.

That connection between place and leisure is still very New Jersey. Streaming, sports, nightlife and regulated online casino entertainment all sit in the same crowded attention economy, with Betinia NJ operating as an online casino for the state market. Television benefits from that wider culture because New Jersey rarely feels staged for the camera. It already feels busy, social and slightly combustible.

One state, a ridiculous number of looks

Here’s the clever part: New Jersey can play itself, but it doesn’t have to.

A production can use Jersey City for glass-and-steel city scenes, Montclair for leafy residential streets, the Shore for holiday energy and older industrial areas for something rougher. There are corporate campuses, forests, mansions, diners, boardwalks and dense neighborhoods within practical reach.

That versatility has shown up in recent television work. New Jersey’s official production records include Severance, The Night Agent, The Four Seasons, FBI: Most Wanted and Power Book V: Origins. The Four Seasons also used Point Pleasant Beach for its 2026 Jersey Shore episodes, giving the series a setting that felt lived-in rather than generically coastal.

For location managers, that variety solves real problems. A crew can find several distinct visual moods without rebuilding its entire logistical operation each time the script changes tone.

The business case got much harder to ignore

Of course, television doesn’t choose locations on vibes alone. Budgets matter.

The NJEDA reported that 556 productions filmed in the state during 2024, generating $833 million in in-state production spending and hiring more than 30,000 crew members. The state’s film and digital media tax program can provide credits of up to 40 percent for qualifying expenses.

That changes the conversation for studios. New Jersey is close to New York’s talent base, has dense transport links and now has the financial tools to compete for long shoots. What once felt convenient can now look strategic.

The infrastructure is catching up fast. Netflix’s Fort Monmouth campus reached a major construction milestone in June 2026. The planned site will contain 12 soundstages across nearly 500,000 square feet, with the first part targeted for completion in summer 2027. Newark and Bayonne are also adding major studio capacity, suggesting that the state wants productions to stay, not simply drop in for exterior shots.

Maybe the real appeal is that New Jersey looks lived in

There’s a texture to New Jersey that television loves. Streets don’t always look freshly dressed. Houses have personality. Diners feel used. Boardwalks carry history, not just neon. That gives fictional worlds a head start.

Audiences also bring assumptions to the place. A New Jersey setting can suggest class, family pressure, ambition, toughness, suburban comfort or social friction before the plot explains much. Smart shows can use those assumptions, twist them or make fun of them. That may be the state’s biggest advantage. New Jersey is familiar without being visually exhausted. It can be iconic one minute and anonymous the next. For television producers, that’s a rare trick. For viewers, it means the Garden State keeps turning up in stories where you may not expect it and, increasingly, in stories that couldn’t feel quite right anywhere else.
