Darian DeVries and the Hoosiers land another international freshman.

Andrej Acimovic, a center out of Bosnia, has signed with Indiana men’s basketball and is set to join the program as a freshman for the 2025-26 season, per an official release:

✍️ Signed.

Welcome to Bloomington, Andrej! pic.twitter.com/m6wWB9x8eY
— Indiana Basketball (@IndianaMBB) July 28, 2025

“Andrej is a talented big man that we are excited to get in our program and develop,” Indiana head coach Darian DeVries said in the release. “He has good size and is able to score the basketball in different ways. He is strong on the glass and has good defensive instincts and timing when blocking shots.”

Acimovic averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the U19 ABA League and 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per gam while shooting 65.3% from the floor and 39.0% from the 3-point line in the second Bosnian division. Additionally, he’s a member of the U16 and U18 Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team.

Likely a developmental piece moving forward, Acimovic adds some depth to Indiana’s frontcourt as DeVries looks to build for the far and immediate futures.

2026 4-Star Guard Commits to Michigan State

Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Michigan State picked up their first commit for 2026 this weekend with the news that four-star point guard Carlos Medlock Jr. has committed to the program.

2026 4⭐️ Carlos Medlock Jr. has committed to Michigan State.

He chose Michigan State over Michigan, Creighton, Iowa, Oklahoma State and Tennessee amongst others. pic.twitter.com/CHgN6zSJNq
— Spartans Hoops (@HoopsSpartans) July 25, 2025

Carlos Medlock Jr. is a four-star point guard ranked by 247Sports as the 99th best prospect in his class and the 11th best point guard. Medlock had offers from several other Big Ten programs, including Michigan and Iowa, as well as Creighton, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and a handful of other mid-majors. Medlock is a Michigan native that is currently set to play his senior season at Link Academy in Missouri and has been a target of the Spartans since his freshman season.

“They’ve been with me all the way through my senior year. That’s a real big thing to me. They made me feel comfortable there since I stepped on campus,” Medlock stated.

The 5’11” point guard also referenced his appreciation of being able to play for legendary head coach Tom Izzo, as well as his belief that he is more likely to stand out with the Spartans over the other schools he was considering. As a junior last season he averaged 24.9 points and 4.8 assists per game, helping lead his school to a championship game appearance.

“Not a lot of people get to have an opportunity to play at a high major and stay home,” Medlock said. “It’s a good thing. My family can come out, they don’t have to see me on TV just to watch me play. They could actually come to the game and be there for me.”

Medlock’s recruiting had heated up this summer with the guard averaging 21.1 points, 2.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game on the Adidas circuit this summer while shooting a 47/36/79 split.

A new look coming for BT Powerhouse in August

Our coverage remains the same but with a new look

In just a couple of weeks, BT Powerhouse is switching to a new platform as part of SB Nation’s network-wide move to a new publishing platform. This will change the look of the site and also make it faster and more reliable on any device you use. This is an upgrade.

When you land on the site, it will look cleaner – less clunky, with more white space, a better ad experience with faster load times – but will still have all the usual articles, analysis, and news by all the folks you know.

Community discussion and content created by you will be more prominent in the new design. The best comment threads will be easy to find, and staff and commenters alike will be able to start conversations whenever they like with a brand new tool.

We’re planning on an early August reveal, so we wanted to give you a heads up. You’ll hear more from us when it’s almost here. The site will look a little different, feel a little faster, and, most importantly, have a bigger role for you, the community.

So, stick around and check it out!

Big Ten Players in the 2025 NBA Summer League: Full Team-by-Team List

Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Discover which Big Ten basketball players are competing in the 2025 NBA Summer League. Full roster breakdown by NBA team, including stars like Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.

Although the NBA Draft is the event that gets the majority of the offseason attention, the NBA Summer League is actually when players start to earn their fill at the next level. It’s a chance to validate their selection on the court and for other players to earn their way onto NBA rosters. With this in mind, let’s take a look at some of the Big Ten players that will be playing in the NBA Summer League this season.

However, before we dive in, just a few things to remember.

Of course, making a Summer League team in no way guarantees a player who will make an actual NBA roster. In fact, the majority of the players who compete in the Summer League will not play in next year’s NBA season. Nonetheless, many do earn roster spots or find their way into the D-League.

With those thoughts in mind, here is the current list of Big Ten players competing in the 2025 NBA Summer League.

Michigan picked up their first commit for 2026 this week with the news that Denmark native Marcus Moller has committed to the Wolverines. Moller choose Michigan over a number of schools including Oklahoma State and SMU.

BREAKING: 2026 center Marcus Moller has committed to Michigan!

The 7’3 prospect from Denmark chose the #Wolverines over Oklahoma State and SMU

Moller averaged 13.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket league #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/10RiBsYhNR
— uofmcoverage (@uofmcoverage) July 8, 2025

Moller is a 7’3” center from Denmark that averaged just over 13 points and 7 rebounds per game in the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket. He spent the 2024-25 season playing club basketball with Unicaja Baloncesto in the Spanish Tercera FEB. Moller also played two games with the Denmark National Team in the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers, averaging 7.5 points and 3 rebounds in two games.

“I feel like I’m in a great environment at Michigan,” Moller told 247Sports. “I really connected with the energy, the competitiveness and the standard that’s expected every day. The staff, the players and the people around the team fit my values and carry a good vibe. It’s a place where I feel I match well both on and off the court. I will be surrounded by athletes who play to win and develop.”

Iowa men’s basketball beats out Purdue to land 4-star 2025 power forward

Trey Thompson will reclassify and join the Hawkeyes for the 2025-26 season.

Iowa men’s basketball has landed a commitment from Trey Thompson, a 4-star power forward originally in the class of 2026. He’ll reclassify to 2025 and join the Hawkeyes for the 2025-26 season.

Thompson’s scholarship offers included Clemson, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana and, notably, Purdue.

The Boilermakers were after Thompson as a 2026 prospect and was considered a top recruiting target. Ben McCollum and Iowa were able to become a factor with some room on the roster this coming season.

It’s a new era in Iowa City with longtime head coach Fran McCaffery, the program’s all-time wins leader, being let go after the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. In steps McCollum, a longtime Division-II darling who excelled in his first and only year at Drake.

Landing Thompson is no doubt a splash for the Hawkeyes, he was a hotly pursued player whose recruitment took a drastic turn once they entered the fold. Time will tell how the McCollum era unfolds, but he’s already making his presence felt in the conference.

Big Ten Shines in 2025 NBA Draft: Harper, Bailey Go Top 5

Brad Penner-Imagn Images

The Big Ten had a strong showing in the 2025 NBA Draft, with seven players taken in the First Round, including Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey in the top five.

The 2025 NBA Draft began on Wednesday night and the Big Ten was well represented, with multiple players landing in the First Round. A full list of the league’s selections is below and will be updated as the draft continues on Thursday.

-Big Ten In 2025 NBA Draft:

No. 2 - Dylan Harper to the San Antonio Spurs (Rutgers)

No. 5 - Ace Bailey to the Utah Jazz (Rutgers)

No. 13 - Derik Queen to the New Orleans Pelicans (Maryland)

No. 20 - Kasparas Jakucionis to the Miami Heat (Illinois)

No. 21 - Will Riley to the Washington Wizards (Illinois)

No. 25 - Jase Richardson to the Orlando Magic (Michigan State)

No. 27 - Danny Wolf to the Brooklyn Nets (Michigan)

No. 30 - Yanic Konan Niederhauser to the Los Angeles Clippers (Penn State)

No. 44 - Brooks Barnhizer to the Oklahoma City Thunder (Northwestern)

No. 53 - John Tonje to the Utah Jazz (Wisconsin)

It was a solid performance for the league, despite a few Big Ten players “slipping” from their pre-draft projections. It certainly would have been nice to see players like Richardson and Wolf get closer to the Lottery range, but it’s hard to complain about a night where seven players land in the First Round, including two in the top five.

The most noteworthy selections were clearly Harper and Bailey, who landed in the top five after relatively forgettable seasons at Rutgers. Both project as major NBA prospects and have a chance to be on rosters for years to come, particularly considering where they landed. Harper has a massive opportunity in San Antonio with Victor Wembanyama and the Jazz could be set to elevate in another year or two, especially if Bailey hits the ground running.

Queen’s selection also turned a lot of heads, though it wasn’t necessarily about his skillset. The Pelicans decided to trade up in the Draft to secure Queen, giving up an unprotected First Round pick in the process. It’s a lofty cost, at least on paper, and doesn’t seem justified given where the pick fell. Queen will have a chance to prove the skeptics wrong, but it puts him in a tough spot where he’ll arrive in New Orleans amid plenty of criticism.

Of the five remaining First Round picks, the most interesting is Richardson. He joins a Magic squad that seems poised to take the next step after narrowly falling in the First Round to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Magic have a loaded roster with Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, but haven’t been able to overcome underwhelming backcourt production in the Playoffs. If Richardson can provide a boost there, Orlando could easily become a title contender.

The other four will likely have to fight for time amid mixed circumstances. The Heat, Jazz, and Nets are in rebuilding mode, which could given Jakucionis, Riley, and Wolf more time, albeit in stressful circumstances. The Clippers were in contention this spring, but often focus on smaller lineups and had Ivica Zubac last season. As such, Konan Niederhauser will likely have to fight for time off the bench.

The two Second Round picks arrive amid some interesting circumstances as well. Barnhizer will join the reigning champions and one of the deepest rosters in modern NBA history. As such, it’s hard to see him doing much outside the G League, at least at first. Tonje joins a Jazz squad in rebuild mode and will join Bailey as a newcomer. They both have a decent path to playing time — it’s just unclear what that playing time will look like with a mess of a roster. It should be fun to follow.

2025 Guard Brandon Roy Jr. Commits to Washington

Washington added to their roster this week with the news that Brandon Roy Jr. has committed to the program. Roy Jr. is the son of former NBA player Brandon Roy, who also played at Washington and had his jersey retired in 2009.

Brandon Roy Jr. has committed to @UW_MBB .

The son of the Legendary Brandon Roy #3 will take the final roster spot for the Dawgs. Woof!!

Welcome Brandon Roy Jr.! pic.twitter.com/1iz2LWj14l
— UW Hoops World (@world_uw) June 23, 2025

Roy Jr. is set to join a recruiting class that includes a pair of four-star guards in J.J. Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew, as well as four-star forward Jasir Rencher and three-star big Mady Traore. Roy Jr. is set to join his father’s alma mater in a recruiting class ranked 20th by 247Sports, with the Huskies also posting a top 20 transfer portal haul.

Interestingly enough, Roy Jr. will wear the formerly retired number that his dad wore while with the Huskies.

“In 2009 I watched my father’s jersey be retired at UW, not knowing one day I’d get to wear it,” Roy posted online. “Thank you coach Sprinkle, staff and the University of Washington for giving me a chance.”

The 6’2” guard is set to take the 15th and final spot on the upcoming Huskies roster as Washington looks to build on last year’s disappointing 13-18 finish.
