Games today:

7:00pm Memorial Cup Semifinal. Winner takes on the top seed. NHLNetwork

8:00pm Rangers v Devils (3-3) NBCSports

Rick Nash is Not Coming to Boston

Matt wrote about this four days ago. But nothing's changed. He's not coming. Not for David Krejci, not for Tuukka Rask and definitely not for Milan Lucic. So let's just refrain from entertaining these thoughts anymore, okay? great.

NHL Awards 2012: Norris Trophy Awarded to Shea Weber by SBNation Bloggers

<img alt="RALEIGH NC - JANUARY 29: Zdeno Chara #33 of the Boston Bruins is congratulated by Shea Weber #6 of the Nashville Predators during the Honda NHL SuperSkills competition part of 2011 NHL All-Star Weekend at the RBC Center on January 29 2011 in Raleigh North Carolina.
By virtue of an overwhelming amount of secondary and tertiary votes in SBNation's poll of its 33 hockey blogs, Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber - trounced by Boston Bruins' captain Zdeno Chara in the first-place voting by a 10-3 margin - was awarded SBNation's rendition of the Norris Trophy today.

Weber, who recorded career highs in plus-minus (+21) and points (19-30 - 49), led the Predators to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, where they fell in five games to the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Predators did make it further in the playoffs than did the Bruins, but Chara did two things that Weber couldn't - captained his team to a division title and have the hardest recorded slapshot in NHL history.

For many, this will seem like a minor detail. But let's be honest: all those people suck. Tomorrow, we'll do the Lady Byng trophy.

What do you think? Did Chara get duped?

(easy answer: yes. long and slightly more complicate answer: <varied smattering of four-letter words>, yes)

A quick-and-dirty google translate of this article reveals that the Bruins have signed the 22-year-old Svedberg out of Brynas of the SEL. He had a .947 save percentage and 1.70 GAA during his 13 playoff games.

The writer of the article says that Svedberg probably expects to start the season in Providence. Interesting...tandem of Khudobin and Svedberg? Where does that leave Hutchinson? IS SOMEONE GETTING TRADED OMG? Post your goalie related thoughts here.

Los Angeles Kings goaltender, Milford, CT native and UMass alum Jonathan Quick was voted the Vezina Trophy winner by SBNation. Fact is, we probably voted with the past five weeks in mind, which I don't think the PHWA is allowed to do when they cast their ballots for one entity or another. But the PHWA also didn't name Claude Giroux a Hart Trophy finalist, so it's not like they're getting everything right here.

Quick started a career-high 69 games for the Kings this season, going 35-21-13 in those contests and notching a career high 10 shutouts. He also set personal bests in save percentage (.929) and goals against average (1.95).

Henrik Lundqvist came in second in the ballot, which was cast by 39 bloggers, representing each of SBNation's 33 hockey blogs. Mike Smith was a distant third, and Tim Thomas didn't receive a single vote (sorry).

Pekka Rinne, Brian Elliott and Jimmy Howard also received votes, because apparently we all voted for goaltenders that were still playing hockey at this time of year, regardless of which continent they happened to be playing on.

Quick and the Kings lost just their second game of these playoffs yesterday afternoon, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Phoenix Coyotes that sent their Western Conference Final back to the desert for a Game Five tomorrow, where LA's perfect road record in these playoffs will be on the line.

I say Quick earned it. Your thoughts?
