Our two CEO´s at Normann Copenhagen (Jan & Poul) are huge Red Bull fans and start every morning with a shot of Red Bull… its true! They were both pretty happy the other day when the drink finally became legal to sell in Denmark. To mark it the crazy people from Austria are in town including 10 x world champion Orlando Duque… guess what he did from the Copenhagen Opera House?  Super cool pictures below.

This is Nicholai Wiig Hansen’s NW1 table. It is made of more than 62 kg of wet clay in a Danish pottery. The decoration took several hours to get just right. Below is a video we made from the very first production of the NW1 table.

The inspiration behind the table’s colors springs from Nordic painters like Lundstrøm and Munck where especially the colors blue, green, brown and beige are used. Art is a natural source of inspiration for Nicholai Wiig Hansen who grew up in an artistic family.

Nicholai Wiig Hansen explains: ”The basis was to work totally without compromises and with regards to trends and tendencies. I wanted to create a larger object with a well-known Nordic decoration in stoneware.”

“Traditionally stoneware is used for small objects like teapots and bowls. For me it was important to design a timeless piece of furniture where the human workmanship plays a central part. I love the fact that you can see that the table is made by hands.”

The NW1 table will never pass the IKEA test. – doesn’t fold flat – a nightmare to ship – and takes forever to make… we love it.

We are happy to show you our latest design made by Clayides. You may have seen the Dahlia pattern before. It is simular pattern which you will find in a lot of flowers and traditional carpets.

With a background in traditional floor ornaments, Claydies has used geometry and reflections to interpret rugs in a new way. Using the motive of the Dahlia flower, hence the name of the rug.

Tine explains “We got hold of Karen’s old compass and a bunch of coloured pencils and played around with simple geometric forms and reflections. In this way the motif of the Dahlia was created and we believe that the rug has now achieved both a classic royal and a modern funky appearance”.

The Dahlia rug is both decorative and will bring some colour into your home.

The Dahlia rug is part of the New Danish Modern collection – all Danish designers and all produced in Denmark.

From a design point of view, this is not the most beautiful rock in the world… far from. But it is a piece of rock from the Berlin wall that was taken down 20 years ago today. – and therefore we think it is one of the most beautiful rocks in the world. Berlin we love you.

Boje Estermanns Funnel is quite a simple product – both in design and use.  But sometimes it’s the simplest things that are the most difficult to develop. From a technical point of view the shape of the funnel “rings” was no easy task. Thin enough to flex, yet thick enough to hold the shape.

We know its a bit early but we are preparing for Christmas in our store in Copenhagen. This year Anne, Gordon and Andreas are transforming the stage in our flagship store into a super cozy Christmas scene.

Anne is making one gigant heart that consists of the words “Merry Christmas” in 12 different languages. Being a true fashion lover, she of cause does it wearing them high-heeled shoes.
