Visitors to Staithes may be interested in watching episode 3 of The Body Farm on Tuesday 27th September, BBC1 at 9pm. Filmed in Staithes, you will recognise local landmarks and maybe even some of the locals, as many were called in as extras.

The Body Farm is a crime drama series following Eve Lockhart (TARA FITZGERALD) one of Britain’s leading forensic pathologists, and her team of scientists (including KEITH ALLEN) at a state-of-the-art forensic research facility.

This is how the BBC describes the storyline:

The body of a dead man, later identified as 35-year-old Connor Ryan, member of a fishing trawler’s crew, is found floating at sea. When Eve arrives at the harbour to examine the body, Hale tells her that the trawler and the other crew members, Patsy Fay and marine biologist Tom Wilkes, are missing. The trawler was originally hired by Wilkes to collect samples for a study of local geological features, but Hale, Eve and the team soon realise all is not what it seems. They work together to investigate the disappearance of the crew and determine the cause of Connor’s death.
