Through imagination, expression, diction, movement, voice, and character development, students explore all aspects of drama and strengthen their ability to express themselves. Through out the week, students will be immersed in role playing, pantomime, improvisation, skits, and video. Salt Shaker Drama Camp helps build acting skills, experience, and confidence all while providing students with a chance to make life-long memories and friendships.

Camps are one week in length beginning June 4, 2012 and are held on the campus of Springhouse Worship and Arts Center (directions).

• Camp One – June 4-9,  9:00 am – 2:00 pm Grades 1-4 *
• Camp Two – June 11-15, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Grades 5-6 *
• Camp Three – June 18-22, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Grades 7-8 *
• Camp Four – June 25-29, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Grades 9-12 *

Every day we’ll play icebreaker games every day to help all our artists make new friends.  They’ll and have fun as they work on their free choice pieces.  When they finish each project, there are small group games to play. The children enjoy seeing what others have created and sharing their own work.

Camps run Monday through Friday, 9AM – 2PM.  Each day will also have a thirty minute lunch followed by an outdoor recess (weather permitting). Some days we will tie-dye or spatter paint outside Jackson Pollack style, so make sure your child is dressed in art class clothes that can get glue or paint on them. Please don’t forget the sunscreen.  And, on Friday, your child’s family and friends will be invited to an art showing where your child’s work will be on display (plan to stay 15-20 minutes longer on Friday for the art showing).

Participants may build and design their cars on their own. Students attending our Wednesday night classes during March and April will receive assistants in working on their cars. Cost for the car kits is $5

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Lessons are available for adults and college students. Minimum of 5 students is required to make the class, and the maximum capacity is 12 students.

WHERE DO CLASS AND LESSONS TAKE PLACE

Classes are currently taking place in the fellowship hall of Springhouse Worship & Arts Center in Smyrna, 14119 Old Nashville Highway (directions).

COST FOR CLASSES

Classes are one hour a week for 6 weeks. Cost is $75 for the 6 week course and does not cover supplies. New classes are formed based upon requests.

SCHEDULE

A class lesson is a 1 hour period of instruction. The class will begin March 21st and conclude April 28th.
