Today has been one of those days. The kind where everything you touch crumbles and nothing will go right. Your hopes are dashed and you are left, sat in front of the One Show, eating Pizza Hut and wishing you'd ordered Dominos instead.

(Who doesn't love a grainy instagram picture of themselves looking a) overconfident and b) mental?)

I'm supposed to be doing highly grown up things tonight (no, not that you filthy minx), like setting up my printer, cleaning my tip of a dining room, planning upcoming videos/blogs, sorting our taxes and all that boring junk that I can't even bring myself to finish listing.

Instead, I'm going to sit here, on my bathroom floor, waiting for a hot bubble bath to run, brush my teeth (goodbye all traces of pizza sin), and read a book.

Yes tomorrow Baby Glitter will still have a cold and will be as clingy as ever, the taxes will still require me to stare confusedly at them and my house will still look like a carboot sale threw up, but I don't care. I'm a woman on the brink and I need someone to say, "It's OK Louise, don't sweat the small stuff".

For the most part, I feel incredibly blessed, but just today, please can I wallow in bleaurgh-ness? I'm sorry to not be Mrs Chirp, she'll be back tomorrow. If you have any requests for blog posts (baby/beauty/other), please do let me know and I shall make you wish my command.

Right now though, my bath is ready and my book is calling.

Flutter and Sparkle

It was bound to happen soon enough, but I shall hold my paws up and say- 'Woops! I forgot someone!'. Uh oh!

Gem has an advert with me and was meant to be in today's Amazing Advertiser post, but with errands to the post office and Matt's work, a slightly off par baby and something pretty big happening tomorrow (ooo mysterious), I let someone slip through the net and feel just horrible for it!

To make up for my woopsie, I shall tell you about her here instead, so that those who have already read my previous post, won't miss her.

Sarah-Jayne is one busy lady. I think this is the blog that has everything- easy step by step craft tutorials, shopping hauls, hair and beauty reviews and a little bit of 'lifeyness' thrown in to boot. Yay!

How To :: Graduated Glitter Nails

If, like me, you love nail varnish and like to have pretty little paws that add a splash of colour or a twinkle of glitter to your overall look, then this will be the post for you!

For the longest time I've drooled over other people's beautiful nail art blog posts and looked longingly at the tutorial videos that made intricate details and swirly designs look oh-so-easy.

Sadly for me, I just don't have that steady a hand and my nails end up looking like a dog's dinner. *Sigh*.

So with all that in mind, imagine my joy to find a sparkly nail art technique that is so easy even me and my sausage fingers can pull off! I give you- Graduated Glitter Nails.

How do I do this snazzy nail look on my own pinkies?

1. Do whatever nail prep you usually do.

2. Pick a colour and paint it evenly all over the nail.

3. Take glitter polish and paint a thin coat from about 3/4 of the way up to the tip and leave to dry.

4. As number 3 but from about 1/2 way up to the tip and leave to dry.

5. As number 3&4 but from 1/4 of the way up and leave to dry.

6. Apply top coat.

Simples.

My Tips for Top Talons:

♥ If you are new to this technique, choose a lighter base colour as it is more forgiving on any heavy handedness glitter-wise. Currently I'm wearing a lilac with silver glitter and it looks amazing. I did take a snap but my hands are suffering in this cold weather at the mo, so I thought best not to share.

♥ Be gentle with the glitter, the aim is to build it up sloooowwwllyyy.

♥ Be aware that this is a lot of polish on you nails, especially at the tips. I have found this has led to easier chipping. Not a problem but if you're going out Saturday night, don't apply on a Wednesday and expect them to still look perfecto. Plan it properly.

I absolutely adore this look. It gives you a chance to use glitter in a more sophisticated way and I'm looking forward to experimenting with more colours. For those that are interested, the colours in in my fancy demo above are OPI 'We have a purple' and OPI 'Spark de Triomphe'. I buy my nail wheels for £1.99 in packs of 10, from this ebay store.

Has Spring Sprung?

This morning as I brushed my teeth, I opened the bathroom window and heard something unfamiliar but oh so lovely- birdsong. For me, the first musical notes from my garden friends of the year are a mark of hope, of good things to come and at last, an end to grey dreariness.

I instantly wanted to do a 'spring' post and sat down with Lappie (who doesn't name their laptops?!) to have a bit of a mooch on weheartit for eye candy. Suddenly, I realised that this all felt a bit de ja vous. Hmmmm. After a little think, I realised I did something VERY similar last year in February! If you would like to read that post, HERE it is. Haha, it goes to show what a creature of habit I am.

Never one to miss out on the opportunity to create a new tradition, I typed "Spring" into weheartit.com and here are a selection of my favourites :

Tulips have been one of my favourite flowers since as long as I can remember. This picture reminds me of my Auntie Rose's garden which is always in full bloom.

Although this is clearly not in England (there are no lorries swaying across two lanes and sports cars cutting anyone up), it makes me want a road trip with the windows wound down.

With two of my girlie friends engaged this winter, weddings are on the horizon. As soon as the shops start stocking nice summer clothes, I'm going shopping!

In our house, Spring is birthday season. Baby Glitter, Me, my Mum in heaven and some of my cousins all have April birthdays, so the anticipation of cake and parties is never far from our minds.

Lou's Reviews :: MAC MSF Soft and Gentle

For the past few months, I have had one question in particular popping up over and over again on YouTube and I decided it might be a good idea to make the answer into a blog post.

The question I have been asked is what have I been wearing on my cheeks to make them look so glowy? I must say, I have been pleased as punch with all the lovely comments telling me I look radiant or healthy or even gorgeous! I can assure you it's all cosmetic and isn't that 'pregnancy glow'. There's no bun in this oven!

MAC Soft and Gentle is part of the Mineralised Skin Finish (MSF) family and since buying it in September 2011, has been reached for almost every day.

With swirling marbleised colours of gold, bronze and tan, it gives my skin the most beautiful luminous finish without it depositing little flecks of glitter. Obviously, I have no issue with glitter, in fact I embrace it, but there are times when a soft shimmer is preferential to sparkletown.

I apply it quickly and easily with a domed kabuki brush and find it blends really well into foundation, powder and bronzer. It really does tickle my pickle.

(I can't tell you how annoying that teeny smudge under my eye is to me. I nearly didn't put this photo in but it demonstrates how dewy brilliant the Soft and Gentle is dans la skin)

The slightly unhinged addict in me is a little sad that I have used so much that there is no longer the domed effect in the pan, but if you check out the website photo, you can see one in all it's newy glory. In hindsight, I probably should have snapped this when I first bought it last year, but I have been loving it so much that it's not left my makeup bag.

This lovely product retails for £21.50. To me, it's a luxury purchase, but one that I'll repeat because the quality is fantastic, it lasts an age (6 months in and yet to hit pan) and it's lead to a flurry of kind compliments- and you can't put a price on that!

New CID Event

I was going to write a full length blog post today about the New CID Event I attended a few weeks back with Vixypops, but guess what?! Matt has surprised me and is taking me on a mystery day out for Valentines!! Exciting!

Following on from my previous post about shopping for jeans, another site I have been looking at today is jdwilliams.co.uk. JD Williams is perfect for those of us looking for plus size clothing and I have found some little gems to share with you all.

I must say, as with any shop (on line or highstreet), there are things that perhaps wouldn't be my cup of tea and things that would, so it was quite fun spending a bit of time mooching through and seeing the selection they have.

This is the Abigail Batwing Blouse with camisole for £32.

I have something quite similar to this from Rivar Island (remember the blue floral poncho type top?) and I think this would look really lovely with leggings and sandals in the Spring. I love that it's long enough to cover the bottom, so it hides a multitude of sins! JDWilliams actually stock sizes from 12-38 and I think this top is a really good choice for a larger lady. Oohh also, whilst I'm on the topic of sizings, they also have a crazy good size range on bras: 32-56, cup size A-K.

Another top that I reeeaallly like is the Abigail Button Front Top for £35. This actually comes in cream and black and would be good for this time of year with a cotton tee underneath, or for warmer temperatures with just a vest. Again, I like the length of it and think it would suit skinny jeans and cute pumps. Oohh look at me, Mrs Fashionista! Haha.

As far as the trousers go, what about these hot pink peg pants? They are a little brave for me but I've seen quite a few brights lately and am starting to think this is a trend I need to get on!

All in all, a great selection of clothes and accessories for the curvier figure and a good place to start if you are in the market for some plus sized clothing.

Jeans from Marisota

If like me, you are a little softer round the edges, clothes shopping can turn from a fun day out trying on clothes, to a total nightmare at the drop of a hat, or should I say, at the strain of a zip? What was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, can become a stressful ordeal in a changing room, under harsh lights, with a garment that makes you look like a burly truck driver. I'm not saying this as an, "oohh imagine that" kind of scenario, this has happened to me more times that I care to admit.

My favourite clothing to go shopping for is dresses because I know my figure can pull them off well and I know what shops accommodate my size 16-18 frame (sometimes more depending on the brand). Clothing my bottom half however, is a different story.

Trousers, jeans, even tights (urgh that clingy feeling round my bumbum is not my idea of comfort) are my nemesis. I find that ordinary highstreet shops usually only go up to a size 16 and being a pair shape, I need to go a little bigger.

Today I have been looking at the Jeans from Marisota and was really impressed to see how much variety they had available on there. I know this is a sponsored post, so it was going to be positive anyway, but truely honestly, I really do love how much choice there is!

There are over 150 different jeans to choose from (I even spotted some hot pink skinnies! Woop woop!) in sizes up to a 32 (so if you're a curvy misses, you're well catered for) and also different leg lengths. This is great for me because I'm too tall for regular lengths, but not quite tall enough for long lengths- do you see what I usually hate jeans shopping so much? Haha.

After having a good look through, I have decided that I'm going to invest in the jeans below for Spring/Summer.

They look sooooooo comfortable and with Baby Glitter on the cusp of walking and running, I need something practical!

I appreciate that for a lot of you Sprinklerinos, you might be able to go into any shop you fancy and buy lovely things, but for me it's always a bit of a hunt, and when I find something that gives me the freedom to choose things that are fun and that fit, I'm a very happy bunny indeed!

Topshop Splurge

No, no, before you scootch your bumbums to the edge of your chairs anticipating a Topshop clothing haul, let me rain on your parade- I bought no clothes! I never actually buy clothes from Topshop. Mainly because I have a fat ass and Topshop doesn't accommodate this and also because there isn't too much in their that really suits me. Meh.

What I do love from Topshop though is their make up range. I actually reviewed the sandstorm range last year, so if you'd like to refresh your memory, HERE it is.

A couple of weeks ago I was in London for the New CID event and had arranged to meet up with Victoria from VIPXO outside the Topshop on Oxford Street. It would have been rude to walk past and not stop by. Thirty eight English pounds later, here is what I came out with:

Since buying these beauties, I have loved the lipsticks so much that I've bought two more- oopsie. The lipliner in 'Fearless' is the PERFECT accompaniment for the lipstick in 'Brighton Rock'.

Whilst I meandered round the makeup (and bumped into Barbara aka ThePersianBabe of all people), I spotted a rather expansive Barry M counter and couldn't help but have a gander. I always check out Barry M because I love their pigments and have quite a little collection now. This particular counter seemed to have a much wider selection of shades than my usual ones, so I took full advantage and bought three more dazzle dusts.

I think they are all really gorgeous spring shades and will look lovely blended with other colours or patted all over the lid.

Pretty!

On to the pencils. I love them both. A lot.

'Coal' eyeliner has now become my absolute favourite and I will definitely be repurchasing when it runs out. It's darker than dark, smudges beautifully, stays on all day (where I left it too!) and gives the perfect smokey vixen eye. It's true love I tell thee.

'Fearless' lipliner is my second ever lipliner and is fantastic with 'Brighton Rock' lipstick. It glides on effortlessly with no stressful skin tugging and makes a brilliant base too. Since buying this, I have a lot of faith in Topshop lipsticks and will be looking into more.

I won't go on too much about the lipsticks because I recently made a video featuring them, but in a nutshell, they're great, get some!

Creamy, pigmented, long lasting, non drying, what more could you want?

How much do you love the packaging? So fun!

I know they look VERY similar, but I couldn't help myself. 'Brighton Rock' is very candy pink, where as 'Confession' is a pinkish coral.

Ooohhhhh look at coal. Sooooo black.

Yes, I know this is a stupid weirdo face, but I HAD to pick it over the nice smiley-show-the-lipstick-snaps because there is a little monkey poking round in the back! Tehe!

Overall, I think that was £38 well spend and I'm really pleased with my purchases.

Those of you who watch my videos may well have noticed that I have been sporting the same sort of look of late. I have found a look that I find quick, easy and suitable for day/night/the lot.

On Saturday morning, before leaving for the IMATS, I snapped a few quick shots. I never know quite how to pose for facey shots, I know there is a certain blog style but having tried them, I look like a total goon, so I just tried to show you the products like a noooormal person.

Hmmm, reading that back it sounds like an awful lot of items but in the mornings, it doesn't feel like it. I can do this entire look in about 10 minutes. If I want to make it a bit more 'night time', I would use more eyeliner and spend longer on my lashes and also use a lipliner to do better lips, but seeing as this was at 7.30am, I was pleased.

London IMATS 2012

As you will know, unless you live under a rock, this weekend was the annual London International Makeup Artist Tradeshow (IMATS) and just like last year, I went, I saw, I shopped!

This year was a million squillion times better than last, for a variety of reasons. One, I wasn't 8 months pregnant and waddling about like a beached whale and two, I mooched about with some spiffing gals and meet tonnes of Sprinklerinos!!

I didn't actually take my big camera because I wanted to just relax and not worry too much, but I did take my camcorder and filmed bippits and boppits. All the videos (there are three) are on my YouTube Channel so you might have seen them, but for those of you who are strictly Blog folk, enjoy:

I heart Glitterworld

I have just spent over an hour writing a post and uploading a zillion pictures of a a few bits I picked up last week but as I was writing it, I was finding it more and more laborious. I promised myself when I started this blog that I would only ever write for the joy of it, and so that post was quickly sent to drafts and I decided to talk about something much more fun.

This week has been another good one and I couldn't be more grateful- mostly to you fabulous Sprinklerinos!

♥ My lovely chum Zoe came to stay. We laughed our socks off, mooched round cute shops in a local village, ate our weight in pizza hut and put the world to rights. Once she was home, she wrote a really unexpected and beautiful post and I felt really rather emotional. I shan't go on because I don't want to sound like Mrs Feelings, but it really did mean a lot.

♥ Baby Glitter has been an absolute joy this week. She's always my little treasure, but this week she seems to have been more brilliant than usual. My friend Charly and I had some retail therapy today and Baby Glitter was sooo well behaved. She cooed and giggled and clapped like a pro. OOhhhhh I could just squish her to bits...but I won't...that would be frowned upon somewhat.

♥ Whilst shopping today I picked up 2 more Topshop lipsticks- yay! More on those to come.

♥ It's the IMATS tomorrow!! I cannae wait!! Matt is dropping me off and collecting me so I'll enjoy chitchatting to him in the car and then he and Baby Glitter will be spending the day together with a friend in London. I absolutely loved the IMATS last year and this year will be even better because I won't be 8 months pregnant and waddling- hooray. If you see me, come over and say, 'Howdy Doody' please :)

♥ Best, best, best thing about this week- I won 'Highly Commended' in the Marie Claire Beauty Blog of the Year Awards. I literally could not believe it. Really, I couldn't. It has just been a huge boost to me to know that so many of you voted and makes me love GlitterWorld a trillion times more that I already did, which was A LOT! I could gabble on and on about how grateful I am but you're eyes would get very tired indeed. Just, thank you. I heart you. Yes, you.

Mrs MakeOver

My Auntie Jackie is a gem. She does about sixty million jobs, as well as being a wife, mother, stepmother and all round good egg.

Her latest project has been setting up a teashop and it has been a lot more successful than she had thought it would be. Obviously this is a brilliant problem to have, but it's led to a lot of hard work, time away from life's little luxuries and a lorra lorra scone baking.

Last week, whilst she had a window of free time, Baby Glitter and I went over with a humungous box of beauty products and restored her former glamour.

Naturally, I took my camera and snapped away and thought I would share the fun with you lovely Sprinklerinos. Mwahaha, Jackie will be just thrilled at the thought of her 'before' pictures being out there- tehe.

Oh me oh my, just looking at all that makeup gives me palpitations. Nice and normal then.

Isn't she a beaut?

Of course beauty is only skin deep, but when you are run ragged and have a much desired makeover, it really can make you feel great on the inside too.

I've actually been toying for a long while with the idea of taking a course in makeup artistry or something of that nature, do you think I should go for it? Eep!

Lou's Reviews :: Illasmasqua Beguile Pure Pigment

It's not often that I will review something both on my YouTube Channel and on my Blog, but once in a while, a product so fantasmic comes along and I feel compelled to share it from ever available platform.

If you watched this video (embedded below) then you will know how beautiful Illamasqua's pure pigment in 'Beguile' is.

At first glance, this little wonder looks like a nice whitey highlighter. However, after swatching or holding it up to different lights, you will see flecks of finely milled mint green and babydoll pink lightly dotted around. Seeing as my favourite colours are mint and pink, this is a HUGE thumbs up on my behalf.

At £15.50 for 1.3g of product Beguile is certainly a luxury item for your makeup bag, but definitely worth it. I've worn it a lot over the last fortnight and can say hand on heart that it's perfect. It blends marvellously, is incredibly versatile and has a long durability time.

Here's how I have been wearing it:

♥ Applied over the black of a smokey eye using a damp small eyeshadow brush.

♥ Over my bare eyelid, patted on with my ring finger and then smudging black kohl eyeliner up into it a little. This is by far my favourite look because it looks a little bit like sparkly water and a little bit smokey/mysterious. Oooohh. Also, you can really go wild on the eyeliner smudgery and make your eyes the feature, or you can just do a little liner and a little Beguile and then make your lips the feature.

♥ Applied with a wet eyeliner brush as, you guessed it, an eyeliner. I like this but I prefer it as a shadow because you can see the sparkles more easily.

♥ Dotted onto clear lipgloss with my finger. I like this look but am wary that I may look a little '12-year-old-at-the-disco' with it. I'll get back to you on that one.

Basically, it has become my go-to special product. You know how you have your regular go-to items (foundation, mascara etc) and also your special go-to items (that you know will give you that bit of edge)? Well this is my special one. I loves it.

As you can image with glitter, it was a tricky little so and so to photograph but here are some snaps, taken in different lights, that will hopefully give you a glimpse of it's loveliness (if not, I apologise, my photography skills are fairly rudimentary):

I must say, I'm not massively proud of these pictures. I think I need to invest in a desk/little table by a window and a tripod, because I really want to be able to give you excellent quality. I think that'll be my next big splurge...after the IMATS....and a Baby Glitter's Birthday Party....and having my hall decorated...the list goes on.

In summary, I heart beguile a crazy lot. I suggest you pop yourself on the waiting list and get some in your life. Also, whilst you're perusing, check out Static pure pigment too. Milly from Pearls and Poodles did a fantastic review of it with far superior photos than mine and if her descriptions ("If you could capture fairy dust...") don't make you dash out to your nearest store, I don't know what will.

To get the look, shape into a dramatic arch, darken with pigment and then brush upwards for a bold-browed look – think Liz Taylor in her heyday – striking and undeniably feminine.

Healthy glow

So recently considered a little unfashionable, blush is key to some of the looks for spring – with a flushed, almost sun-burnt look showing up in some of the catwalk shows. Layering and defining the cheekbones, the flushed-cheek blush gives a healthy sun-kissed look which will make you feel ready for summer as the winter starts to lose its hold.

Go nude

Our favourite look for spring 2012, though, is the cleanest and simplest of them all – the nude look. Characterised by glowing, luminous skin; soft petal pinks and coral colours; high-shine rosebud lips and dewy blush, the barely-there make-up look is a winner for this season.

Lou's Reviews :: Dribbles Ons Bandana Bibs

Not a beauty one today. Unless you have literally just started reading this blog (in which case, Hi! How nice to have you over!), you will know that from time to time I slip a little Baby Glitter post in and it always seems to be well received. Yay.

Recently I was very kindly sent a couple of products from an internet company called FindMeAGift.com and I thought today I would share my thoughts on the Dribble Ons Bandana Bib.

(NB. As of yet it has not been through the washing machine, which is something that I am keen to report back on because I find the Primark, Tesco and George bibs all shrink. Once it has been through a couple of times, I will let you know the results on my Facebook Page).

The Bandana Bib is something I have been keen to try, after I saw it on my friend Clare's little baby boy Ethan. He is such a cutie and as Clare is a bit of a fashionista herself, she dresses her wee one beautifully. I have often thought that Mother's of boys have a tougher job in the wardrobe department because girlie clothes have so much more variety. Boy things seem to be very limited to blue, green, red, white/trucks, cars, tractors, stars and spaceships. I think these little bibs are PERFECT for the stylish little man in your life as they offer a fun alternative to the norm. That's not to say they're not for little ladies, I just think that if I had a boy, I would go gaga for them-like Clare does!

I took a few snaps for you and whilst flicking through the album to choose a couple, I realised I loved them all so brace yourself for a slew of Baby Glitter modelling!

As you can see, although the bib is rouched around the neck, it doesn't restrict Baby Glitter's movement. I did wonder if all the gathered fabric would make her feel a little like she was wearing a neck brace, but actually she played and manoeuvred as normal. By the by, we don't make her sleep in that moses basket with a million toys in it- she sleeps in a bigger cot and the moses has become storage!

These bibs retail for £4.99, which although more than what I would normal pay for a bib, I think is a decent price seeing as you are getting something so unusual.

The fabric is thick and ultra absorbent, which a soft micro towelling cloth on the back. Also, because of the extra material that bunches around the top, it really can collect and soak up A LOT of liquid (dribble/drinks etc)- ideal for teething.

At the back there are easy popper clasps so putting on and taking off is simples. There are two size settings so this bib can grow with the baby which makes the price even better.

I actually think you could use this bib as a bit of a fashion accessory too. I had at least two people saying, "oohh he looks like a cute little cowboy". Looks cute = Great. Looks like a boy when she's a girl = Less great! I think if I were to choose one of these myself, I would go for pink, just to avoid those kind of comments. Thankfully bandana bibs come in a variety of shades.

I also like the little tufty bits at the back, it just looks CUTE. I know I've used 'cute' about ten times but I don't care, good writing has gone out the window and I've been overcome with cute cute cuteness!

Overall, I'm really happy and impressed with this product. One of my sister-in-law's is pregnant at the moment so I will definitely be purchasing one of these for the hamper I'm putting together for her.

If you don't look at Amy's blog for anything else, go ahead and check out her header. It makes me smile every time I do. Paperbacks and Postcards is an eclectic mix of beauty, music, jewels (she's an etsy lover so she's a good'un) and humour. If you get the chance, have a looksie at her 'About' page, it's a good read and it's nice way to find out a bit more about the gal behind the blog.

Laura Laments

You may remember Laura from a few months back when she advertised here last year. I'm so glad to have her back because I love loosing myself in her blog. Her writing style is amazing and you'd be forgiven for thinking you were reading a monthly glossy rather than a blog. I just read through her "25 before 25" post and I feel seriously inspired to make one myself/seriously jealous of her figure!

Verita Illumina- Truth Enlightens

Number one, who knew there were such things and sweet potato fries? Number two, have a looksie at this blog. It is a lovely mix of foodie suggestions, photographs (of crabs stealing biscuits!), beauty and fashion. Sarah is fairly new to the blogging world, but I'm sure all of you lovely lot will give her a great big welcome and sloppy kiss. Ok, maybe not the kiss then.

Beauty Butterfly Blog

Jade's blog is beauty product-tastic. If you want to just gorge on reviews, pictures, face of the days and hauls, this is the place for it. Jade is a woman after my own heart, and also hates her eyebrows. Yes, I know that's a slightly random thing to say, but I feel her pain and thought I'd share it. Jade's reviews are easy to read and well laid out (not like my waffly-onny ones!) and she has already pointed me in the direction of a few things I'd like to purchase.

Beauty and Baggage

Seonaid describes herself as a girl with wanderlust, a love of clothes and beauty product problem. I think as beauty bloggers, we can all related to this! I think solely from her header we can see that she is a lipstick lover! Luckily for us, her posts live up to this, with a huge array of lip products and well lit swatches. Hurrah!

Futures

Bex's blog is another winner. Jam packed with fashion and beauty posts, all whilst finding her feet as a new mum. Having read through it, I was really impressed that she wasn't afraid to showcase and feature products that I hadn't come across too much (like Lime Crime for example) and so it has given me a few things to put on my 'to look into' list. Thanks Bex!

Wired Jewellery

Wired Jewellery is the brainchild of the extremely talented Faye. Faye is a 22 year old Londoner who started her business this July to make a little extra mula whilst she studied. Originally using materials like clay to make her creations, but Faye has now moved onto metals and semi-precious stones to make the majority of her little beauties. She tries to use sterling silver where possible, because she believes that nobody wants green skin- I think we can all agree with her on that one! All of the Wired prices are very reasonable, ranging from about £5-£20 and if you go use the code on the add, you will receive 10% off. Miniture Celebrations

Despite having lots of 'proper' posts to be getting on with, I felt like just having a natter with you and filling you in on some of my latest mini happies.

(Yes, that's Baby Glitter on a giant tap in her new and slightly too big snow suit. As you do)

Today I was walking to the bank (more on this later) and I was thinking about all the good things that have happened recently and so I have decided to share them with you because we all need a bit of positivity on these gloomy January days. I know I do.

♥ Although I haven't managed 30 minutes exercise a day, this morning I put on my pre pregnancy jeans and DID UP THE BUTTON! This is a bit of a break through for me and my tum!

♥ I've been on 3 good walks this year to 3 different parks. That's not bad going in my books. If I had to rate them I'd give Sywell Country Park 9/10 (really cool kiddie sand park with diggers, water activities, fun slides, giant ornaments like fish/birds/taps, climbing wall, butterfly garden, reservoir, ducks, loooaadds), Abington Park 8/10 (fun children's park with all the usual apparatus, avery, bandstand, little cafe, tennis courts, duck ponds galore and lots of open space) and The Race Course 3/10 (not much there, kiddie park was vandalised, scary looking 'characters' about). I don't know why I just gave little reviews, but I did! I hate walking, but it seems a lot less arduous if it's somewhere enjoyable. Also, it leads to less wobbly bits and that's my goal.

♥ Finally, after a year and a half of repayments, I have paid off my stinking overdraft. Take that bank! Now everything in there is mine, mine, MINE! It's a huge weight off my shoulders and I'm going to promise myself not to get into such a pickle again. Now to work on the mortgage...

♥ This blog tipped over the 5,000 follower mark last night and I couldn't be more thrilled! I feel like that is a crazy amount to have grown in one year (it was around 1,000 last January) and I hope it continues to blossom and share it's sparkle with the world. Thank you every single Sprinklerino who has hit that little 'join this site button'. I loves ya.

♥ I have been longlisted for the Marie Claire Beauty Blog Awards. Wow! I NEVER get long listed/short listed/anything listed for things so this has come as a huge surprise and excitement to me! MAC :: Iris Apfel Collection

I think we all love MAC. They regularly bring out new collections (faster than my pennies can keep up in fact) and when one that reeeaaalllyyy floats my boat arrives, I have to share it with you. Now is such a time.

Iris Apfel, legendary New York fashionista/interior designer, has teamed up with those MAC Brains and created cosmetics gold. No, not actual gold, I just mean the most beautiful, vibrant, girlie collection I've seen in a fair few months.

So from this collection I am UBER excited for the lipsticks and lip liners. There isn't one single colour I don't like and I know I would get plenty of use out of them. They make me look forward to spring in a way only bright lip colours can. I currently have a MAC lip liner in Cherry and I can't fault it, it's magic.

They eyeshadows don't call to me as much. There are three matte shades amongst them and I'm more of a frost/satin kinda gal.

I like the look of the black eyeliner, who doesn't need good eyeliner after all? They eyebrow pencil doesn't entice me seeing as I am so crazily in love with my HD Brow Kit, but the beauty powder looks like it could be a winner, I need to swatch it ASAP!

I don't own any MAC Nail polishes because I have a hefty supply of OPI and Barry M to keep me happy, so I shan't comment on those.

I have to say, for me, this collection is all about the lips. Sooooo pppuurrdddyy.

Lou's Reviews :: LUSH Space Girl Ballistic

Remember in the olden days, when we were kids and a bath was something your mum made you do to get clean? Isn't it funny that now it's transformed from an essential yet boring daily chore, to a relaxing treat. I can't recall the last time I had one without an 'accompniment'. No, no, not the human type (filthy minds), but yummy bubble baths, luxe oils or fun and sparkly bath bombs.

Lush's Space Girl bath bomb certainly ticks fun and sparkly. This purple flying saucer shaped ballistic turns your water a deep violet and leans to a more fruity smell than floral or vanilla, which is no surprise considering it contains bergamot, grapefruit and almond oils as well as citric acid. I must say though, the fragrance is very light and not at all overpowering like some of my past Lush experiences.

I love that this product contains glitter. We all know I have an obsession with the stuff. Personally, I would've coped with a lot more, but I'm not sure that would be to everyone's taste. The glitter isn't all that obvious until you look for it. When you really do have a good gander, you will note little shimmers of red and gold amongst your purple bath- lovely.

According to the WEBSITE, the Space Girl bath bomb also has popping candy packed inside it. It suggests submerging your head under water to hear this, but I must say, that's not something I have done or will do- I don't like the feeling of water in my ears. Has anyone else tried and verified Lush's candytastic claim?

Retailing for £1.95 (the lower end of the bath bomb price spectrum), having a cool shape, making my water violet and glittery and not being overly pungent makes Space Girl one of my favourites from Lush and a product that I have bought over and over.

Perfectly Polaroid

Nowadays, with the likes of photoshop, piknic, photobox and iPhone apps, we can all be budding photographers working our techy magic and creating amazing images at the drop of a hat. We can make snazzy photobooks, airbrush pimples or order giant colour canvass prints from groupon (or was that just me?). But what I treasure the most from all of my photography thingymabobs, are the little polaroid pictures that line my mantle piece. Tiny glimpses of memories on miniature bits of card really seem to float my boat.

After yearning for a polaroid camera for about nine hundred years, I started mooching around on my beloved ebay and thought I would share some of my findings with you, in case like me, you love all things polaroid too.

THIS SHOP is a virtual treasure trove of polaroid and other vintage cameras. At first I was going to just give you the Black Rainbow Camera link, but when I saw what else the shop had to offer, I thought I best just include the lot!

If you wanted to take a more modern approach, THIS little package looks super! You get a Fuji Instant Instax Mini 7S Polaroid Camera, plus the film, plus a snazzy case. Also, it's pink. What more could you want?

Or, if you were feeling really modern, THIS is a teeny weeny printer which you can attach to your camera and instantly print out polaroid-esque shots. Again, it's pink and not that pricey, so all my boxes are ticked!

I have a bit of money in my paypal account that I suspect is burning a polaroid shaped hole. Ebay, here I come!

New Year, New Me?

Happy New Year!

As is customary with the first of a new year, I have made some realistic and some rather unrealistic resolutions that I'd like to try and uphold. Last year I planned to be a size 14 by Christmas, organise my bank statements and save a grand. And I achieved none of these. Excellent.

(Nope, the image -from weheartit.com- has nothing to do with new year or resolutions, but hello..waffle hearts with pink rainbow confetti sprinkles?! How could I not share!?)

That being said, I'm ready to go with fresh enthusiasm and vigour (Oooh I love that word...vigggourrrrr).

1. Lose about 5 stone and spend all my days frolicking in a bikini flouting my non wobbling thighs, having baths that I don't create a little damn of water with my bottom and trying on ridiculously tiny dresses in Zara and suchlike. Maybe a tad far?

2. Save up enough money to take myself, Matt and Baby Glitter on holiday to America. IHOP calls me.

3. Eat five portions of fruit and veg and do thirty minutes exercise a day. I'm not going to weigh or measure myself because frankly, to me, diets and weightloss things are mind blowlingly dull so I'm just going to try and be more healthy. I think if I do this, excess fattybumbumness will go away slowly. Any tips and advice on this topic (ie. Easy low fat snacks, easy little exercise tricks. Please note, I hate cooking and sweating so easy and quick are key here!) are welcome!

4. Be proud of my blog and channel. Sometimes when I tell people that I don't know very well what I do, I feel like a silly little girl that plays with and writes about lipgloss. But I'm not, so I'm going to stop acting like it.

5. Continue to love, cherish and nurture Baby Glitter.

There are quite a few other little things I intend to do like keeping my wardrobe tidy, actually taking my toenail polish off rather than just going over again with the same colour in the hope nobody will notice and stop blurting out mental things to people I barely know, but I shan't bang on and on.

I must say, if 2012 treats me half as well as 2011 did, I'll be one happy lady indeed. Will this be another golden year?
