Generally called a Trojan Horse, it appears as a legitimate file or software from a trusted source, therefore tricking users into opening it or downloading it. A Trojan refers to a program that appears as something you may think is safe, but hidden inside is usually something harmful, probably a worm or a virus.

Take action and protect your irreplaceable computer files, credit card number, bank account number, social security number, address, drivers license number, pictures and important work documents by learning how to remove Trojan viruses ..

The lure of viruses is that you may download a game or a picture, thinking it's harmless, but once you execute this file (run it), the worm or virus gets to work. Sometimes they will only do things to annoy you, but usually a worm or virus will cause damage to your system.
If you are currently infected I strongly advise you to learn how to remove a trojan virus yourself. If you don't you will run the risk of being hacked and have all your personal information taken.

Learning how to remove trojan viruses can be a very technical task. I would not suggest you follow any instructions that teach you how to remove trojan virus unless you are very competent with computers. If you aren't comfortable with computers I suggest you use a program, it will remove them so you don't have to know what to do.

What could happen if your precious information fell into the wrong hands? You could suddenly get a credit card statement that has outrageous charges. It's not the money thing that will hurt, its the time you will have to take to get all those charges resolved. Just because one trojan virus stole your information. Somebody could have a hay day with your social security number.
How To Remove Trojan Virus

Disclaimer: Do not attempt to remove them by yourself unless you know for sure what you are trying to accomplish. If you want to learn how to remove trojan virus, you will need some computer savvy.

Step 1:The first thing you must do is stop the process(program files) from running. This can be accomplished by getting into your task manager and stoping the process you suspect are the trojan virus.

Step 2: Un-register the trojan virus files. In the Run command box, type "cmd", and then click on "OK". Type "regsvr32 /u filename.dll" where "filename" is the name of the file that you like to Unregister.

Step 3:Remove and Modify Registry Entries if they exist. Click Start > Run. Type regedit. Then click OK.

Step 4: Search your computer all files and hidden files and delete these Related Files if they exist.

You will need specific file names and specific registry entries in order to completely remove a trojan virus. If you cant find these file names and registry entrys you can always use a program that will delete the trojan virus for you.

Don't let these trojan viruses steal your important information, make sure you clean them up now.

Check out this video YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi1xtg9cUG0

Another resource

Check out this blog on how to remove a trojan virus: http://www.removetrojanviruses.blogspot.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Steve_N_Delarwelle

How to Remove The Trojan Downloader?

The Trojan-Downloader is a kind of Trojan, which once running will generate infection files, modify Registry and add Startup items, in order to make itself run at the computer startup. Then, through network connection, Trojan-Downloader downloads a great number of Trojans which are able to run automatically. The downloaded Trojans then modify the associated files of .exe file, and disable exe file from normal function. Meanwhile, Trojan-Downloader is so stubborn that lots of antivirus software can do nothing to it. Or, even though it was reported to be removed successfully, you can still find it later.

If you are careful enough, you will find that after being activated, Trojan-Downloader will generate the files XXX.exe and XXX.dll in the directory %systemroot%\system32. Then, you can go to this directory and find out and delete these files. If they can't be removed, then they are possible the files run by Trojan-Downloader. In this case, you can try the following method: download a robust antispyware program to remove Trojan; start up your computer in safe mode (Press F8 at computer booting up); use the antispyware program in safe mode to detect and remove Trojan-Downloader, and after which please download the Registry repair tool to repair your system Registry and check the startup items.

Other Methods to Manually Fix the System Infected by Trojan-Download :

Go to C:\ WINDOWS\system32\drivers and find out the file X .sys. Open Spyware Cease, use the File Deletion function. Add the files needed to be deleted, and execute the forcible file deletion. (Note: The File Deletion function is very powerful and no file can be restored once deleted. So make sure the file name is correct. ) Find out Trojan-Download in C:\WINDOWS\system32, and delete it with the same method. Then, Start - Run - type regedit to open the Registry Editor, and delete the Registry keys of Trojan-Download from the following
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controlset001\Services HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controlset002\Services HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

http://www.spywarecease.comhttp://www.threatremove.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Amy_Zhou

How to Get Rid of the Trojan Virus - Once and For All!

Trojan viruses are horrible viruses that manage to covertly get themselves into your system by either posing as genuine computer applications or by hitching a ride attached to a genuine software application so you may think you are downloading a new application for your laptop but what you are in fact doing is infecting yourself with a trojan virus! Once you have accessed and acquired this type of virus onto your machine you have effectively let a hacker control your system.

The hacker can now search through all of your files at will and can even monitor you while you are browsing online registering your internet sites and more importantly your passwords. This can be made even worse if you use internet banking or have important business online as the hacker will now have access to this information as well!

Sometimes however trojan viruses are not intended for use by hackers but instead have a destructive quality behind them. These viruses sole intent is to cause destruction to the machine they infect.

Removing Trojan Viruses can be very quick and incredibly simple. The first thing you need to do is access the task manager on your system. This can be done usually by typing Control + ALT + Delete. Once you have this opened you need to go to processes and analyse all the processes that appear. You will be able to tell pretty shortly if any of the processes that are running are suspicious because you will not have heard of them! For example in my processes right now is itunes.exe this is because I am running iTunes. If the process was gggt.exe I would be suspicious because I do not know what that is!

If you are unable to find any viruses in your processes tree then the virus you are infected with must be quite advanced. For this type of virus you are going to need an Advanced Virus Remover.

The best security package I have seen to date is Workstation Optimizer. It is an all-in-one virus scanner and security system, meaning it will protect you from viruses and keep your machine running as smooth as it did the day you bought it!

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mike_Jacobsen

How to Completely Remove a Trojan Horse Virus Quickly?

Do you want to learn how to completely remove a Trojan horse virus quickly and easily? Most of the time, users who have accessed the Internet before will encounter problems with Trojan virus and malware attacks, which subsequently causes other damages such as loss of data or slower PC processing speed.

These Trojans have the ability to appear as harmful application files that run malicious codes once the user executes them. These malware files are commonly spread around online and on free download and file sharing websites.

1. How Does a Trojan Horse Virus Harm the Computer User?

Most of the time, malicious software and viruses will first aim to attack the registry. This is where the computer keeps all the user profile and settings of the operating system and the installed programs inside it. This is also the reason why Windows operating systems are more prone to virus attacks, which is due to the fact that they have a registry that keeps all this important data that can be easily intruded.

2. How to Completely Remove a Trojan Horse Virus Quickly?

The most effective method is to download and run a virus and spyware removal software. It is able to scan, detect and get rid of Trojan horse viruses and malicious files using advanced file matching algorithms. Another thing that you may want to have is to install a firewall program. It is very good for detecting threats even before they are downloaded onto your computer. The virus and spyware removal software that I am currently using is able to perform cleaning functions as well as deter threats.

It is able to block and alert me to all potentially dangerous applications that are about to enter my computer and registry system. Besides causing slowdown in processing speed and loss of data, Trojan viruses and malware can also result in identity theft through the unauthorized stealing of confidential information in the user's system.

Want to learn How to Completely Remove a Trojan Horse Virus?

Don't do it yet, because the author has found many bad spyware and Trojan cleaning software on the web. These malicious infections which are a form of malware are commonly disguised or concealed as ordinary software on the web but rather infect a computer once downloaded and installed. What separates them from the virus or computer worm is that they do not make copies of themselves but as mentioned above they can give control to hackers who can harmfully modify or remove any content on your operating system. The best protection that one can use against these infections is either a paid or free Trojan virus removal tool which can be found on the web.

So how does this malicious content get into my system and how can I avoid this from happening?

The only thing you can really do is be careful and cautious when you download freeware or any piece of software from the internet. Due to the fact that it can be almost impossible to know if a downloaded application is infectious you are advised to scan the program before you install it. Once the application has been installed it's already too late because the Trojan will already have unloaded various malicious scripts and other commands which will have infected other files and system features. Despite the presence of quality free Trojan virus removal tools on the internet a lot of people look for alternative methods which can instruct them how to remove these infections manually.

This can be hard if not impossible because of the great complex nature of these particular infections and that's why you are better off using security software. Almost every PC user would have run across a malicious software attack which can be a virus, spyware or adware etc.

1. What Exactly is a Trojan Horse Virus?

The biggest difference about a Trojan and a virus is that a Trojan is unable to duplicate itself unlike how viruses are able to. Trojan Horse viruses would disguise themselves as executable files and attempt to install themselves when the user runs them. Many unsuspecting users would open these files especially when they are named as another interesting file or some other free download that they think they have downloaded from the Internet. These Trojans are named after the general public's favorite items (songs, games, movie file names etc.) and tempt the user to install them afte it has entered the PC.

2. How to Remove Trojan Horse Virus Quickly from Your PC?

The best solution would be to download and run a scan with antivirus and antispyware software. It is able to run a scan throughout your system and then allows its users to clean out any spyware, adware, viruses or any other malicious software that has been detected. It does its thing automatically and does not require the user to have any technical knowledge. If you have such a piece of protection software, it is very important that you update it frequently to ensure that it has the capabilities to defend against the latest threats. Once my protection software has run a full scan, I rebooted my Pc at home and it was running like new again after that.

3. What Are the Effects of Getting Attacked by Trojan Horse Virus and How Do They Spread?

The user can expect to see various symptoms such as an increase in the number of popup ads, more unauthorized installation of unknown toolbars, slowdown in processing speed and many other irritating and potentially damaging symptoms.

Want to learn How to Remove Trojan Horse Virus? What are these malware, adware and other malicious programs that people constantly talk about these days? What do they do to your system and more importantly, why are they a threat to your personal information and passwords?

First of all, spyware, malware and other such programs which are termed to be malicious or as threats are considered viruses. They were created by advertisers and internet marketers in an attempt to find out about the interests and background of their target markets. In other words, they will gather information from the person's computer which it infects.

They enter anonymously through various ways such as downloads, web browsers and sometimes even through chat. It is relatively easy to get infected with this kind of software and statistics even show that around 95% of computers which have connection to the internet have at least one type of this software in their systems. Besides gathering background information about the user, malware have many more unwanted effects.

Spyware can also track your activity in the internet. It can check every website you visit, every person you chat with and every password you put in. This puts you at grave risk against hackers as they can invade your personal space or privacy. At the same time, having numerous spyware programs in your operating system's registry will effectively slow down your computer and its processing speed due to clogging and traffic. With the use of Spyware Cease, you can avoid all these inconveniences and eliminate any threat posed by these unwanted programs.

Spyware Cease have two methods to scan for spyware, first is its automated scanning. It will regularly scan for various types of spyware, adware and malware in your computer's most commonly infected directories such as internet temporary files, download folders and other directories. At the same time, you have the option to do a manual scan of specific directories which you think is infected by spyware.

Another feature that makes this great is its Custom Fix feature. What this means is that you can attempt to remove spyware that were detected but cannot be removed by the Spyware Cease. It also provides a real time protection against malicious programs. What this means is that it will block attempts by certain spyware to enter your computer by constantly scanning the browsers you go to as well as every download you do. Once detected, it will have no chance of entering your system.

Get your computer checked NOW!
Free Spyware Scan at Spyware Removal Tools.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Graham_Govern

Spyware, Adware and Malware - How to Avoid the Scammers

Internet Security is very big business these days and not just because there are lots of different types of spyware, adware and malware appearing all the time. The threat is double edged: on one side you have the hackers and on the other you have the scammers; people and companies selling and promoting inferior software. Software that is far more likely to cause more problems than it will cure.

The list of rogue anti spyware, anti adware and anti malware programs and vendors seems to grow as quickly as the security threats they are supposed to disinfect. The number of prosecutions in Washington is on the rise as more people are found guilty of intentionally supplying rogue software.

A lot of scams are capable of operating in real time; while you browse the internet. They initially appear as a pop up stating that your computer is infected. Quite often a small flashing icon in the bottom right taskbar will also appear. If you follow the advice they offer you'll be taken to a website to download the software that will remove the problems. But this is actually adware being used as malware and what you download is spyware. It's a big scam.

But there is also a lot of supposedly legitimate software on the market that is utterly useless. In a number of cases they will contain exploit software or be based around old or inferior database engines. Anti spyware, adware and malware software of that nature is being openly sold with many people advertising and promoting.

So how do you deal with all of this?

Whichever software you choose; whether it's labeled as anti spyware, anti adware or anti malware, they all do pretty much the same thing. So you only need to download one or two decent programs. Before you do download anything always check up on the internet and see what others are saying, there's plenty of info out there. If something is inferior there will be information about it.

Never click on anything that appears stating your computer is infected and never click on a flashing icon stating the same. If that happens to you and you have anti spyware/adware/malware installed disconnect from the internet and run your software. If you don't have spyware software then download some first. You can get a copy of Doctor Spyware from Tucows; it's free and should do the job. Also download the free version of Lavasoft Ad aware.

Finally always make sure your security software downloads necessary updates and use it to scan your computer on a regular basis that way you will keep your computer clean and free from spyware, adware and malware.
The Truth Revealed About Spyware, Adware and Malicious Software. The Truth about a Good Piece of Anti Spyware Removal Tool

I have found that the best forms antispyware programs usually provide a free trial and then requiring a payment for their clients to get full access to software. There are no professional technical programming teams to maintain them at their latest versions.

3. There are many different types of viruses, some are just annoying and may cause a message to flash on your screen, while others are more malicious and can actually delete files necessary for your computerís operating system. There are others that can also leave your computer open for hackers to do as they please with your computer.

Viruses are for the most part easy to prevent. You should always have a trusted up to date anti-virus program running at all times as well as deleted emails with unknown file attachments. However, despite our best intentions it is still possible for your computer to become infected with a virus.

If you do get a virus, it is important to do a little diagnosis before trying to fix and eradicate the virus.

Firstly, you should try and find out what the virus is one your computer. Run a full virus scan using your anti-virus software. Make sure your software has the most current virus database and donít skip any sections of your hard drive or memory. This can take some time, but it should find it and recommend a course of action to get rid of the virus.

If your computer is not operational try and boot your computer using an anti-virus CD or diskette, you should have created one when you got your computer. Once you are back in your computer do the previous step and do a full virus scan of your system.

If you have only rebooted the computer once since infection and are running any version of Windows you can try to reboot from the Last Known Good Configuration. This usually doesnít help but it is worth a try.

If you canít discover the source of the virus take a look at your computerís operating files. Most of them should have the same date and one that is more current may be a virus. kernel32.exe and lsass.exe are two files that are often hit by viruses. If you find some discrepancy try replacing them with clean files.

If you find youíre only having problems with one program try uninstalling it completely and reinstalling with a new copy.

If you have lost data that is vital to you and have no backup you may need to get professional help. While there is no guarantee that your data can be recovered it is possible. This may be an expensive lesson that you should frequently backup all important data.

Paul Wilcox writes about internet security solutions for the TechnoSecurity website. We might be vigilant and never open email attachments from people we don't know, we might take care to make sure an ecommerce site is secure before entering our credit card information, or we might even go so far as to install a standard firewall on our computers. Unfortunately, much of the common sense advice we follow when it comes to Internet security does little to combat the cyber-crime that is rampant.

Federal Trade Commission

Even the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, a governmental agency that is designed to help consumers, had to issue a press release stating that "consumers, including corporate and banking executives, appear to be targets of a bogus e-mail supposedly sent by the Federal Trade Commission but actually sent by third parties hoping to install spyware on computers."
There's little doubt that spyware, malware, and insidious virus attacks make any computer with Internet access vulnerable. But, because not all Internet security breaches are immediately apparent, people are often unaware that their seemingly hassle-free computing is anything but.

The Federal Trade Commission offers seven guidelines to help consumer surf the Web safely:

1. Protect your personal information. For example, when shopping on an ecommerce site, make sure that the page where you enter your personal information is secure, as designated by "https" before the URL. It's important to stop identity theft before it starts.

2. Know before you click. For instance, many cyber-criminals impersonate legitimate businesses, or send "phishing" email that asks you to click a hyperlink. Check out online merchants and never click on emailed hyperlinks unless you're certain of the source.

3. Update anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software often. Hackers and others who engage in cyber-crime seem to always be a step ahead of the good guys. If your computer protection is outdated, you're vulnerable.

4. Use Web browser and operating system security features. Make sure your browser settings give you optimal privacy and security, and ensure that you update your operating system regularly to take advantage of security patches.

5. Safeguard your passwords. For example, create a unique password for each site you visit, and keep them in a secure place. Use letter, number and symbol combinations that can outsmart automated password detection programs.

6. Always do backups. If your computer does get a virus or a worm, your files may be goners. Make sure to regularly back up any important files and store them in a secure place.

7. Prepare for emergencies. If something does go wrong, such as your computer being hacked or infected, or if you accidentally divulge personal information, know what courses of action you should take to remedy the situation and prevent further problems.

A Hassle-Free Solution

Protecting your computer from all of the threats in cyberspace can seem like full-time job. Thankfully, there are companies who make it their business to offer individuals and businesses the most technologically advanced computer security solutions available. The best of these services offer PC maintenance, full system optimization, problem diagnosis and repair, installation assistance, and a full complement of professionally managed security services.

Typically, you pay a small monthly subscription fee and in turn can surf the Web knowing that your computer is locked down and that you'll never again have to stay abreast of the latest security software or lug your computer down to a high-priced repair center.

Chris Robertson is an author of Majon International, one of the worlds MOST popular internet marketing companies on the web. You should take a number and get in line. This is a rogue virus that has been taking the internet by storm, attacking millions of computers across the globe. If you feel you may be infected, I would highly recommend you conduct a XP Deluxe Protector removal as soon as possible.

Once installed onto your system, it can start a maelstrom of deadly activity. False pop alerts are a popular symptom of an infected registry. You may also notice modifications to your desktop background and browser. The software will use spyware to snoop confidential information like passwords, credit card, and social security numbers.

Before we get to removal it is essential to figure out how the malware snuck onto your system in the first place. This will help you avoid these types of problems in the future. The most common ways to get infected are:

• You installed a fake "video codec" from a multimedia file downloaded off the web or P2P network. Never install codecs from most files you get online.

• Installing some type of share ware program. There is a reason why many of these programs are free. The developers are paid instead to bundle the software with malware.

• Getting exploited through Facebook or Myspace viruses. Don't solicit messages from anonymous parties.

Although you may be getting pop ups that read something similar to "your computer is infected!" DON'T fall for the trap. All this program will do is scam you out of money, steal your identity, and make your computer worse.

XP Deluxe Protector Removal

To remove the virus manually you must focus on the following:

1. Removing all related malicious processes (any malicious EXE files)

2. Removing any associated DLL files (Dynamic Link Library)

3. Removing any dangerous .lnk files asccociated with the virus

4. Go into the registry, locate and remove dangerous files in following directories
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Unfortunately it can be very challenging to execute athis removal manually. Not only can there be various dangerous files throughout your system, if you miss a single strain of the virus it will completely restore itself when you restart your computer.

I only recommend manual removal for folks who have are computer experts. It is quite difficult and hazardous to remove XP Deluxe Protector if you do not know exactly what you're doing. Remove the wrong files from the registry and you can cause further damage to your system.

A much easier method to remove XP Deluxe Protector is to install a removal tool. Apart from external factors sometimes, internal factors also might result in the malfunctioning or crashing of a computer. To determine the nature of the problem there are computer diagnostic tools. Though the word diagnosis means identifying and analyzing the problem, computer diagnostic tools go all the way to set things right after preliminary diagnosis. A comprehensive computer diagnostic tool would diagnose dead PCs, motherboard, power supply, memory, hard drive and the central processing unit. Data recovery diagnosis is a part of this process too.

Computer diagnostic tools flood the markets in both software and hardware form. A lot of computer diagnostic software is available for free and can be used by an end user without any technical help. The assistance of technicians may be sought to set problems like stuck keys on the keyboard, mouse related problems, rolling pictures, memory loss and loss of data with the help of computer diagnostic software.

Most of the computer diagnostic programs are easy to run and come with useful instructions that can be performed by PC users themselves, unless there is a serious problem concerning the hard disk or the CPU. Computer diagnostic programs should be run periodically by end users even when there is no obvious problem to check for troubles that might be lurking in the system. It is advisable to leave some space in the drives to accommodate the computer diagnostic software. Computer diagnostic programs would run a set of tests either individually or simultaneously to identify the problem and prepare a report. This report may be saved for future reference. After this, the computer diagnostic program would proceed to trouble shoot.

Computer diagnostic software can retrieve lost data in minutes. However, complete testing of a PC by using a computer diagnostic program may take as long as 100 hrs. The costs of computer diagnostic software is higher than the cost of computer data recovery software, as the later does a myriad of functions that includes identifying, analyzing and trouble shooting that also includes data recovery.

Windows mode computer diagnostic software is compatible with 2000, 2000 Pro, XP and 2003. DOS mode computer diagnostic programs are compatible with IBM XT, PC, AT and Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium I, II, III, and Pentium IV to name a few.

Natalie Aranda writes about computers and information technology. Don't Do Anything Until You Read This Review

Regcure is one of the most popular registry cleaners in the world. Used by millions around the world, it has carved out quite a niche for itself in the registry cleaner market. But when getting down to the nitty gritty, does it really deserve all the hype?

Before conducting a detailed review, you need to set a particular framework to test the product. When it comes to registry cleaners I care about fixing problems, speeding up the computer, user interface, and customer support. So lets see how Regcure performed in these categories.

Fixing problems

We used an older computer that was filled with registry errors as the test CPU. Regcure was able to find 97% of the total registry errors, the highest detection rate we had seen. But the best part is it was able to fix corrupt registry files easily, completely eliminating any windows error messages and blue screens.

Speeding up the computer

Again, Regcure really soared when it came to this benchmark. Regcure has a built in features that can take a speed diagnosis of your system and key in on areas that can be optimized. Not only did it speed up computer startup times, it also improved overall performance. The sluggishness we noticed before was completely gone.

User Interface

Regcure has a solid and easy to use interface. As a tech junkie myself, I would prefer something a little more advanced. But clearly this product is geared towards the computer novice. The product is dummy proof, once you install it you are ready to go.

Customer support

This is an area where Regcure can probably improve. Don't get me wrong it isn't bad, but they simply do not offer support as well as some other companies. That being said, the product works so well it is not likely you will require support. They do answer all queries, they just take a little longer than others.

I highly recommend Regcure for any computer novice who is looking for an easy way to fix computer errors and make their computer run faster than ever. Regcure offers a free scan and diagnosis, take advantage of it below.

Want to squash those annoying pop up ads and get your PC running like new? Come get your free scan at Spyware Fix today!

Jim Marshall is an expert computer technician with fifteen years of experience in the industry. Lately this has been a very popular issue. This elusive virus seems to crossing the internet at a devastating rate. If you are infected, you should remove the virus right away.
Do not permit this virus to remain on your computer. False pop alerts are a common warning sign of an infected registry. Your computers settings may also be changed. This will help you avoid these types of situations in the future. The most frequent methods of infection include:
• Checking out a malicious website that hijacked your browser and snuck the virus into your computer. You would be shocked of how easy this can be done without real-time antivirus protection.
• Grabbing malicious applications or freeware off the web. Although it can be free, this kind of software often comes at a price. It can be packaged with bundled spyware and viruses. Lots of the newer ones come attached with the Antivirus System Pro infection.
• Responding to e-mail or inquiries from anonymous people on social networks. Typically the popular sites (Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace) are targets. Always use caution with these websites.
Although you may be seeing pop ups that say something like "Warning spyware detected on your computer!" do NOT fall for the trap. All this program will do is scam you out of money, steal your identity, and make your system worse.
Antivirus System Pro Removal
In order to remove Antivirus System Pro manually you need to get rid of all of it's elements. Also take advantage of the real time protection to prevent future attacks.
Tired of viruses infecting your computer? You wouldn't believe how many people there are in the world that get hit with SpyWare every year.

Furthermore, some internet sites have SpyWare ready so that when you ever go to their site or visit their site from a link or pop-up, your computer becomes vulnerable and gets infected with MalWare. Even though most SpyWare is harmless, there are some that can do many tasks from tracking your internet usage to slowing down your computer.

The type of MalWare that you can pick up over the internet can basically be anything and do whatever it is programmed to do with your computer. Most of the time, some of the internet MalWare that enters your computer may not be easy to manually find and eliminate and it may just sit in your computer for years slowing your computer down without you even knowing. Also, while you are surfing the internet, the most common type of MalWare that your computer can get hit with is adware and this will display advertisements or pop-up ads to your computer.

So, if you are on the internet and you think that all internet sites out there are safe then you are wrong. It hacks into your computer without permission and can potentially delete system files that are essential to keep your computer running properly. Malware also reduces your computer's security, and is often referred to as a Trojan. If your computer is infected with Malware, you might think that there is nothing you can do. This is not true; there are plenty of different ways to get rid of and protect your computer from Malware.

There are plenty of sites online that offer Malware removal tools. These types of tools scan through your computer and check every against their database for any types of Malware. If there is Malware infecting your computer, the program will take note of it and let you decide how you would like to proceed at the end of the scan. One option it will give you is to delete the file, and you should do this unless you need that file for some reason.

You can set up these scans to run every day, week or month; whichever works best for you. Once you have been running these scans on a regular basis, you should find that your computer will not have anything wrong with it due to Malware. Unfortunately, there are new improved Malware threats each day that you are online, but if you decide to run a scan daily you should not have much problem with this issue. Make sure that you are not nonchalant about running these scans as Malware can really mess up your computer and cause you a ton of grief.

The best malware removal tool is:MalwareRemovalBot!

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dex_Dillo

How to Clean Malware Off Your Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7 Computer - Malware Help

If you want to know how to clean malware off your Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 computer, then keep reading...

Malware removers found online can repair your infected computer quite fast. If you fall into the unfortunate trap where your computer is running really slow, freezing up, receiving endless pop-ups or lots of error messages there is a pretty good chance that you have been infected by malware. Malware is "Malicious software" which gets into your computer's hard drive without you knowing it and starts doing its damage.

Also referred to as simply a computer virus these software programs can do large amounts of damage and can ruin your computer losing all your important information. Generally entered into your system through a Trojan horse or a worm these viruses can make certain programs run incorrectly and in some cases crash your computer completely. Less severe cases put cookies on your web browser which attracts all those pop-up ads that are so very annoying. If you keep personal information or records on your computer the individuals who created the virus will be able to get to that information. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in North America and largely due to malware infection.

You shouldn't be afraid to use your computer and there are steps you can take to protect your computer and your personal information from these "malicious software" programs.

1. Be sure that all the computers you use are protected.

2. Be sure you have an internet security program installed and that it is running correctly. If you don't have one of these programs you can download many of them from internet websites online.

3. Be sure you do not click on any pop-ups, no matter what they are or who they appear to be from. Also don't open any emails you receive from person's unknown.

4. If your computer starts to show signs of infection, run an antivirus scan. Back up all important files onto a disc so you don't accidentally lose them.

5. Download and install a pop-up blocker and firewall protection.

6. If you notice your computer acting strangely use the system restore option to restore it to an earlier date.

7. Always remember that computer hackers are also extremely computer smart and they know what they are doing so never underestimate the damage they can cause.

The best software I have found for removing malware is:
MalwareRemovalBot!

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dex_Dillo

Best Virus and Malware Software Review

Would you like to download the best virus and malware software from the Internet? Malware, also called malicious software, can exist in many forms and attach themselves onto various programs and software and run their codes when their infected programs are being run. Some of the most popular types of viruses and malware include spyware, adware, Trojan viruses, worms and key-loggers.

1. What Can Malware and Viruses Do Once They Are Inside Your PC?

They are made to spy on the users' activities and potentially steal confidential information from the user. Some are also capable of deleting all the data in the hard disks without the user knowing anything about. If you do not download protection software to defend against them, they can cause a lot of trouble and unnecessary costs for you when left untouched.

2. Downloading Virus and Malware Software for the Best Protection

Getting a protection software that can detect and delete malicious software and viruses is the best way to protect yourselves against these potentially harmful files. For example, they were more commonly spread through floppy disks and CD-ROMs etc. Today, with the advancements of the Internet, every PC has web access and it is much easier for these threats to spread online.

Are you looking for the Best Virus and Malware Software? Let me put it this way, the software installed on your computer will have some relevance to the sites you often visit. Lets take a few examples, when you are using Gmail, chances are good that you will have Gmail Notifier or GoogleTalk installed on your PC. When you often visit Yahoo.com or take part in their social networks, chances are good that you will have Yahoo! Toolbar or Yahoo! Messenger installed on your PC. Lets take a more practical example, users visiting Microsoft.com most probably have packages like Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows XP installed on their computers. It is likely for supporters of the Open Source Initiative to hang out on sites like OpenSource.org, OpenOffice.com, Linux.org or SpreadFirefox.com. So your software preferences play a huge role in the type of web sites you visit and vice versa.

But what has this to do with malware infections? To be honest, everything! Let me show you what the top culprits of malware infections are and it will soon be clear to you what the connection is between the web sites you visit and the malware found on your PC.
Top culprit number 1: Pornographic web sitesDownload Spyware Blaster by JavaCool Software and have a look at all the porn related web sites blocked by this program. It is also remarkable to see how many computers with traces of pornographic web sites in their browser history, are often infected with spyware and trojan horses. Unfortunately you will have innocent victims of malware infections, also with traces of pornographic web sites in their browser history, but only because the malware redirected them to these sites. However, people with pornographic material on their computers are not that innocent in this case, pornography does not go out looking for people, people go out looking for pornography.

Top culprit number 2: Illegal music (MP3) and movie downloading sitesThese sites normally force you to install special downloading software on your computer so that you can download files from them. These download managers are often bundled with spyware and are trojan horses themselves, downloading tons of other spyware programs while you cheerfully download your illegal MP3’s. They sometimes place tracking cookies on your PC to monitor your browsing habits and hijack your browser to make sure you return to their site or a site of a partner.
Top culprit number 3: Software Piracy web sitesIf you love using illegal software, cracks, serial numbers or license key generators (keygens) then you most probably had to remove some malware infections in the past after visiting one of these sites. Most of the people using these cracks are normally technical wizards and know how to disinfect their computers. Many of these sites do not only contain harmful scripts but also fake cracks and key generators, which are nothing else but malware. Some crack developers create a working crack but distribute it with spyware or a trojan horse to make your PC their slave.

Top culprit number 4: Peer-to-peer file sharing programs and networksThe file sharing community is loaded with pornography, pirated software, music and movies. Is it not amazing that everywhere these guys make their appearance you also find spyware, viruses, trojan horses and all kinds of malware? The client software is also often bundled with spyware (or adware as they call it).

The culprits discussed so far are those connected with illegal and indecent activities. People visiting these sites and using these services deserve getting infected with malware. These culprits are also some of the biggest sources of malware epidemics. What flows from the mouth, comes from within the heart. The same rule applies to your computer, those nasty little programs crawling inside your computer is, in the case of culprits 1 to 4, the direct result of your own sinful actions and activities.

The next couple of culprits are caused by negligence and a lack of knowledge about how malware are distributed.

Top culprit number 5: Pop-up and pop-under advertisementsAnother culprit that wants to caught you off guard. A pop-up window may appear out of the blue or a concealed pop-under window my load in the background without you even knowing it. These windows can start downloading malicious programs and install them on your computer. They can appear on any web site, not just illegal and other bad web sites. You can prevent these windows from opening by using a secure browser like Firefox with a built-in pop-up blocker.

Top culprit number 6: Fake anti-virus and anti-spyware toolsYou visit a legitimate looking web site and suddenly a banner appears telling you that your computer is infected with spyware. You can scan your computer with all the anti-spyware software in the world, over and over again until you are blue in the face, but that banner will keep telling you that your computer is infected with spyware. This is because it is a plain image banner. The site never does a scan of your computer, it is a fixed message that will display on any computer, no matter how clean it is. Simply put, it is a blatant lie! They want you to believe that your computer is infected and that only their software can remove this spyware. If you download and install their software you will only find that it is spyware itself. You may end up infecting a completely clean system with a dirty program, trying to remove the so-called spyware.

A system scan is not a three second process, it takes time, so no scanner can tell you instantaneously that your system is infected with spyware. I do not believe in online scanners, rather use software with a good reputation, a local scan is much more faster. Most online scanners are no online scanners at all, you actually download the whole scanning engine and end up doing a local scan anyway. A real scanner will tell you the name of the malware and its location on your hard drive, if it does not give you this information, then it is fake. Even if it gives you this information, it still does not mean that the software is legitimate. Do not trust everything you see online and stick to well known anti-malware brands.

Top culprit number 7: Free games, screen savers, media players, etc.No, not every free program comes bundled with spyware, but spyware (once again the developers prefer to call it adware, but it is still the same thing) is often the price you have to pay for the free software. It is normally a ploy to monitor your use of the program, to send the creators statistical data or to collect data about your online behaviour in order to send you targeted ads. If you try to remove the spyware you normally render the main application useless. Read the EULA (End User Licence Agreement) very carefully before installing the application. But everyone knows that nobody reads those tedious, long licence agreements, so use EULAlyzer by JavaCool Software to check for specific keywords and phrases that might reveal any spyware programs being installed or privacy breaching practices that may occur if you install the free software.

Top culprit number 8: Malicious web pages with harmful scriptsBut you already mentioned this one in culprits 1 to 3. No, culprits 1 to 3 often have harmless web sites and it is the content you download from the sites that is harmful. But you also get web pages containing malicious scripts, totally innocent looking web sites, like a site donating money for cancer. You go to their homepage and suddenly a script virus strikes your computer. This is what an anti-virus shield was made for, that unexpected attack. Firefox is also designed to prevent harmful scripts and browser hijackers from accessing the system and taking advantage of flaws and weak spots in your operating system.

Top culprit number 9: E-mailVirus worms spread themselves by forwarding a copy of the virus to all the contacts in your address book. Those contacts that are unaware of these worms will most likely open the e-mail and the file attached to it. But when you open a strange infected e-mail from an unknown sender, then you are guilty of double negligence. For the virus to be activated you need to open the e-mail and in most cases you need to deliberately open the file attachment too. By using a little common sense you will know that strange e-mails from unknown senders are dangerous, especially when they have executable attachments with file names ending with the “exe”, “com”, “bat” or “scr” extensions. Even dangerous e-mails from known, trustworthy contacts can easily be identified if the contents of the e-mail seems strange and out of character. By being careful and responsible when opening your e-mails, you will not only prevent your own computer from getting infected, but you will also prevent the worm from spreading any further.

Top culprit number 10: You the Internet userWhat? Me? How on earth can I be a culprit? Well, you are an accomplice in the spread of malware if you do not have an active and updated anti-virus package installed on your computer, if you do not scan your computer for viruses and spyware on a regular basis, if you do not use shields like the TeaTimer tool from SpyBot (which is free by the way), the Ad-Watch shield of Ad-Aware or the resident shield of AVG Anti-spyware (all of which you have to pay for, unfortunately), if you spend your time browsing pornographic and illegal web sites and take part in the sharing of pirated software and copyrighted material (culprits 1 to 4), if you fail to be responsible with the software you install on your PC and the e-mails you open (culprits 6, 7 and 9) and if you refuse to use a secure web browser (like Firefox) built to prevent malware infections (culprits 5 and 8). Yes, I will go so far to say, that if you stay away from culprits 1 to 7 and 9, you probably won’t need any virus and spyware protection at all. Culprit 8 is the only reason why you should have anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, for those unexpected attacks, over which you have no control.
Culprits 1 to 8 are the main sources of malware. Infections caused by them led to the creation of culprits 9 and 10, which distribute the malware even further. Do not turn your computer into a malware paradise or a malware distribution centre. Take responsibility, protect your computer against these threats and prevent the spread of malware.

About the AuthorCoenraad is webmaster and founder of Cyber Top Cops, leaders in Internet security, prevention of online fraud and educating users against online scams and malicious software.
