It could include their costume, appearance, mask, face paint, choice of items they bring to the ring or overall persona. Their gimmick might be used to cheat in matches. For example, Repo Man used to steal other wrestler's items from ringside to distract them, or use his rope and hook on them. The gimmick can also simply be used as a way to showcase themselves. Most gimmicks have fallen by the wayside in today's WWE, with the exception of stars like The Undertaker, Kane, Goldust and The Boogeyman.
